If this value is false, then it pops up the LOV if the value is not valid.
Not sure why you are not getting it. Try to play with other properties.

  • How to get LOV column's DISPLAY value in IR report?

    Hi,
    I would like to get LOV column's DISPLAY value to trigger another javascript function. Could you please provide any hint?
    For example, there is one IR report with 2 column, DEPT_NAME & SHOW.
    The DEPT_NAME type is LOV .
    The SHOW column is one link image, when clicking it , I would like to fire a javascript to get DEPT_NAME 's display value.
    I know I can use #DEPT_NAME# to get the return value of LOV. However, how to get current row's DEPT_NAME's display value?
    Thanks in advance.

    Is there any way you can create a table join, instead of using LOV as your display type?
    That way you can select the name of the department in your IR query, display it as text, and then easily reference it as #DEPARTMENT_NAME#, for example.

  • How to validate similar columns fetched by the cursor

    Hi,
    I have one table which has columns like COMP_PART_NUMBER_1 , COMP_PART_NUMBER_2 up to COMP_PART_NUMBER_50
    Need to validate columns as shown below,I want to know how to make create dynamic script for the below validation so that there is no need to add same logic for 50 times.
    IF rec_SCR_assy.COMP_PART_NUMBER_1 IS NOT NULL THEN
    IF LENGTH(rec_SCR_assy.COMP_PART_NUMBER_1) > 8 THEN
         v_error_description := NVL(v_error_description,'') || 'The Component 1 Part Number length should not be greater than 8| ';
    ELSE
    v_upd_script := ' COMP_PART_NUMBER_1 = ''' || rec_SCR_assy.COMP_PART_NUMBER_1 || '''';
    END IF;
    END IF;
    I have tried to create pl sql block as :-
    FOR vcnt IN 1..50
    LOOP
    VFIELD_COMP_PART := 'COMP_PART_NUMBER_' || VCNT;
    v_exec_query:=' begin
    IF rec_SCR_assy.'||VFIELD_COMP_PART ||' IS NOT NULL THEN
    IF LENGTH(rec_SCR_assy.'||VFIELD_COMP_PART||') > 8 THEN
    :v_error_description := NVL(:v_error_description,'''') || ''The Component 1 Part Number length should not be greater than 8| '';
    ELSE
    :v_upd_script := '' rec_SCR_assy.'||VFIELD_COMP_PART||' = '''''' ||rec_SCR_assy.'||VFIELD_COMP_PART ||'||'''''''';
    end if;
    END IF; end;';
    execute immediate V_EXEC_QUERY using v_error_description,v_upd_script;
    This code is giving an error as it is not possible to create a bind variable to the cursor in dynamic script.
    Please help me to find the solution for it.Thanks in advance.

    Try like this ...
    DECLARE

  • How to validate date columns in tabular forms?

    Hi,
    I have two date columns in a tabular form
    1.Start_date 2.End_date so here i need to validate the end_date as should not be lesser value than start_date column
    so any solution for this?

    Hi,
    use a validation of type "Function returning boolean" and the following code:
    IF to_date(:YOUR_END_DATE,'YYYY-MM-DD') < to_date(:YOUR_START_DATE,'YYYY-MM-DD') THEN RETURN FALSE;
    ELSE RETURN TRUE;
    END IF;The date format is of course in your choice.
    Hope this helps...
    Thanks

  • How to validate detail columns on a Master-Detail page

    How do you add validation to the detail columns/items on a Master-Detail page? For example I want to execute a 'not null' validation on a column in a detail row when the user attempts to add a new row.
    Edited by: user9108091 on Oct 12, 2010 8:58 AM

    Is the detail a tabular-form style?
    If you are in version 4.x you can add it like any other validation.
    If you are in version 3.x and below, you have to write your own PL/SQL validation using the wwv_flow.g_f01, g_f02, etc. arrays and make the validation a type of "function returning error text". A not-null return value will be your error message. A null return value will be synonymous with passing validation. Unfortunately this method is a bit inelegant in that if you display the error on the same page, the screen usually repaints as part of the whole process and since the row was not saved (nor any other changes the user may have made to existing rows) the new row will disappear. If you display on the error page, the error is a bit inconvenient/inconsistent for the end user relative to item-level error display, but the page will usually be cached in the browser's cache and the state of what the user entered is retained.
    The error page also usually defaults to the "login" template. If it did, this is rather unattractive, IMHO. If you switch it to your current page tempate for most of your application pages (e.g.: two level tabs), even though it doesn't have tabs it will look a little more consistent with your other application pages.

  • How to ristric the user when data enter in lov column.

    Hi all,
    i have one page,page having lov column and submit button.
    here user select the value in to lov column and click on the submit button details ll be displayed.
    but user did not select the value in to lov means user enter the value in manually and click on the submit button at that time lov window ll be open.so how to ristric the user.plz help me its very urgent.
    Thanks
    Seshu.

    Hi,
    What is your requirement?
    You want to validate value entered by user in LOV field or not?
    If yes, then this the correct behavior.
    In no, you can disable client validations. In this case the value entered won't be validated against the LOV vo and value will be stored in the vo attribute mapped to LOV bean.
    Thanks,
    Mukesh Uchaniya

  • How to validate Quantity field in TV - Inputfield ?

    Hello All,
            I'm using a table view to show the output .
    IN this table view I made 2 fields as Input fields.
    Both the fields are Quantity fields.
    Now when the user enters a value in this Quantity field I want to validate it with respect to it's units .
    How can I do that ?
    In my case if the user enters correct value it works but when he enters a wrong value my BSP is going for a dump.
    I tried to debug the<b> LIPS table</b> to verify how SAP was handling this checking for the field <b>LFIMG</b>. But there there is a statement called chain --endchain.
    SO there is no chance for debugging.
    My code is as follows :-
            LOOP AT gt_final INTO wa_final.
              CLEAR: gv_row,lv_qty,lv_string,gv_len,gv_cell_id1.
              gv_row = sy-tabix.
              gv_len = STRLEN( gv_row ).
              gv_len = gv_len - 1.
    * Modify the Third Column
              CONCATENATE 'INB01_TV_ID' '_' gv_row(gv_len) '_' '3' INTO gv_cell_id1 .
              lv_string = request->get_form_field( name = gv_cell_id1 ).
              WRITE lv_string TO lv_qty  UNIT wa_final-units.
              CLEAR :wa_final-del_quantity.
              wa_final-del_quantity = lv_qty.
              MODIFY gt_final FROM wa_final TRANSPORTING del_quantity.
            ENDLOOP.
    Can anyone tell me how to validate the entry for the Quantity filed ?
    Regards,
    Deepu.K
    I have one more Question .
    Whenever BSP goes for a dump in this case I want to handle this by a message .
    Is it possible ?

    I.e say for example I have a unit as PC (pieces) then the quantity must be only of thousands,lakks and so..on......but not in points i.e a piece quantity must be full either 200 ,2 lakhs or 2 pieces but not 2.5 pieces.
    SO now if the user enters 2.5 it's a wrong value as the quantity for the Unit PIECES can't have half-piece. (2.5 = 2 + 0.5) .SO i want to validate this .
    I hope I'm clear.
    How should I do ?
    Regards,

  • How to validate data is in specific list while loading from SQL*Loader

    I have a sample data file like below
    1,name1,05/02/2012 10:00:00,blue
    2,name2,06/02/2012 10:00:00,red
    3,name3,07/02/2012 10:00:00,yellow
    4,name4,08/02/2012 10:00:00,white
    I would like to validate 4Th column to be a valid color (ie) All color should be in a specific list, if it is not in the lis then the record should do to bad/discard file
    How can do that while loading Data From SQL*Loader?

    How can do that while loading Data From SQL*Loader?Probably a lot easier with an EXTERNAL TABLE (they're much more flexible).
    Is SQL Loader a mandatory requirement for some reason?

  • Dateformat in a LOV-Column

    Hi,
    can somebody tell me how I can set a dateformat for a LOV-Column in Forms 9.0.2.12.2.
    I want to have it to look like this: "2.Aug.2005" instead of "02.08.05".
    Thanx and regards
    Helmut

    Write your LOV with an extra column that contains the date formatted how you want it. Don't display your real date, just the formatted one. Your select statement would be something like:
    SELECT TO_CHAR(TO_DATE('02/AUG/2005','DD/MON/YYYY'),'FMDD.Mon.YYYY') displayed_date,
    '02/AUG/2005' the_date
    FROM dual

  • Reg:How to delete the column in table control also from database table.

    Hi Experts,
    Once again thank u all for giving the responses.
    one more doubt is how to delete the columns of table control and also the record shold delete from ztable.
    With Regards,
    Saroja.P.

    Hi,
    If you want to delete the rows in the table control and simultaneously delete it from the database table, then you can implement a 'DELETE' functionality specific to your table control. Have a MARK field (you will find that in the screen attributes of the table control -> give a name for the MARK field, you will find an additional MARK column at the beginning of your table control). You can check whatever rows you want to delete from the table control, call the delete module.
    "This portion of code inside the LOOP...ENDLOOP.
    IF sy-ucomm eq 'F_DELETE'.
       gt_itab2-check = mark.  " Store the MARK field status into your internal table's correspoding field 'check'
      MODIFY gt_itab INDEX tabcontrol-current_line.
    ENDIF.
    iF sy-ucomm eq 'DELETE1'.
      DELETE gt_itab WHERE check eq 'X'. "Your internal table does not have rows that you want to delete
    ENDIF.
    Now you can modify your database table using the MODIFY statement.
    MODIFY ZDB FROM TABLE gt_itab.
