How to validate People Picket control at client side using javascript/Designer in New form.aspx

Hi Folks,
I have list library with 2 columns. where as 1 column is people picker control and it is not mandatory filed .
When the user open newform.aspx and fill all the column values and submit it should show error message if user not enter any data in people picker control column though it is not a mandatory column.
How to achieve this by using javascript or sharpoint designer.

I have already tried your solution, however in that case I get the error - "UncaughtSys.ArgumentNullException: Sys.ArgumentNullException:
Value cannot be null.Parameter name: context"...
Also, I tried removing SP.SOD.executeFunc
from my code, but no success :(

I am new to BPC.
I can't install SSIS COM Component on Client side.
and i guess, it lead BPC Excel , Data Manager is not working.
Because all the user are local user on server side, no domain
I have run OSoftSetup.exe, but the result is
Error (Login failed for user ". The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.)
i have tried to change the OutlookSoft.config in OSoftSSIS_Client\Bin Folder
and the config doesn't take any effect.

When opening Office 2007 Excel -> eTool -> Data Manager
There have no option showed.

How to validate an attribute in a table/EO using a DB Table

I have an attribute LocationId in DuplicateLocationEO(LocationId,LocationName)
And I need a validation on this so that user can enter a LocationId that exists in LOCATION_ID of HR.LOCATIONS table
How to validate an attribute in a table/EO using a DB Table?

Issue: Insert a value into an attribute if it is valid, Like it is available in another table.
Scenario: Insert a Location into a DuplicateLocationEO based on LocationEO.
Solution: Create a Entity Validator on LocationId of DuplicateLocationEO that is list based on query of LocationEO’s LocationId.
Note: if the validation is created at attribute level, then it leads to NPE or Undesirable results.
Procedure Steps:
Step#01: Open desired Entity Object “DuplicateLocationEO”, Go to “Overview” tab & “Business Rules” finger tab.
Step#02: Select “Entity Validators” & Click “+”
Step#03: Set the following Rule Definition Tab:
•     Select Rule Type as “List”
•     Attribute “LocationId”
•     Operator “In”
•     List Type “Query Result”
•     Enter SQL Statement “Select LOCATION_ID FROM LOCATIONS”
Step#04: Now go to “Failure Handling” tab & Select radio button for “Error”.
Step#05: Click the Magnifier link to create a message.
Step#06: In the “Select Text Resource” popup. Provide the following
•     Display Value: “Invalid LocationId: {LocationId}. Please enter a valid Location”
•     Key: INVALID_LOC
•     Description: message when user enters an invalid location.
Step#07: Click “Save and Select” Button
Step#08: Click “OK” Button

Nice alternative, but it still doesn't work on a Windows machine when the
mail software from Microsoft doesn't react on PDF actions.
You can do many things in Acrobat, but it is a problem when it doesn't work
on Windows and iPad.
So now I am looking for alternatives like interactive magazine software
(based on html5).

Can someone tell me how to pass a single quote in a URL using Javascript. I have created a Javascript funciton in which I pass several column values from an APEX report.
The URL for the report link I am using is "JAVASCRIPT:passBack('#EMP_ID#','#Name#','#e-mail#')"
The problem occurs with the Name and e-mail columns contain a single quote (i.e. James O'Brien)

Using WebUtil
• Start the OC4J instance.
• Start Forms Builder and connect to your schema.
o Open webutil.olb
o Open webutil.pll
• Compile ALL (Shift-Control-K)
• Generate PLX (Control-T).
• If the PLX is not generated, the webutil.pll library would have to be
attached with full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is
NOT recommended.
• Create a new Form
o Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the WEBUTIL object to
the Object Groups of your form.
o There is no need to Subclass the WEBUTILCONFIG object.
o Attach the webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
o When you open the WEBUTIL_CANVAS in layout editor, you can see the
following screen (i.e. your installation is successful). Otherwise, you will
get this error;
• FRM-13008: Cannot find JavaBean with name '%s.'sarah

How To Update A Table View From Client Side !!!!

Hi I would like to update a table view from the Client Side. So that the user can keep updating the relevent data on the client and when they have finally finished they can press Save so the entire page is then sent to the Server.
Does anyone know how to do this, I guess u have to use the EPCM, I have just started on it and would really appreciate some Help.

This is what I found :-
There are a couple of ways to approach this.
1) load the excel spreadsheet into the database "as is". You can use interMedia
text to convert the .xls file into a .htm file (HTML) or use iFS (see
http://technet.oracle.com/
for
more info on that) to parse it as well. InterMedia text will convert your XLS
spreadsheet into a big HTML table (easy to parse out what you need at that
point)
2) Using OLE automation, a program you write can interact with Excel, request
data from a spreadsheet, and insert it. Oracle Forms is capable of doing this
for example as is other languages environments. In this fashion, you can remove
the "manual" and "sqlldr" parts -- your program can automatically insert the
data.
3) You can write a VB script that uses ODBC or Oracle Objects for OLE (OO4O) in
Excel. This VB script would be able to put selected data from the spreadsheet
into the database. We would recommend OO4O. It provides an In-Process COM
Automation Server that provides a set of COM Automation interfaces/objects for
connecting to Oracle database servers, executing queries and managing the
results. OO4O is available from
