How to validate the Search Term

Hi Experts ,
We are facing new development.In KM Basic Search if there is no search term is provided(eg : Empty string or empty search term) then we have to show a alert box to enter a valid search term.
Also if the search term contains any special characters like $,# etc.. in that case also we have to show a alert box to provide valid search term.
Kindly please anyone guide me regarding this development.

You can't forbid the use of particular terms via the standard API. You would need to build an app using the Web Services API, and remove any sensitive terms before submitting the query to SES.

How to validate the fields and how to display the error messagein presenta

I am new to OBPM 10g, pls tell me how to validate the fields in a presentation.
for example if we take login presentation if user enters his user name and password wrongle and submit the form. Then we need to display error message right side of the each field i.e user name and passowrd is wrong and try again.

Hi Jaya,
You can initially set the validation for empty values.. that is when the user dint enters any value and clicks on submit.
for these vadliations you need to write a method and call it on submit button click!!
secondly, you can validate for the format if required.
thirdly, you can validate against a database for the credentials. For this you need to fetch list of usernames from database and search for user entered value in that list.
Optimal query would be : if user name not null, query for pwd of the entered user name from database or file storage. if you dont get any value for pwd of given username, its incorrect user name. if you get some pwd value for username, then check against the one user entered in pwd field..
Write all this logic in a method and call on submit button click event of the login form!!

Change the search terms in BP

Hello everybody,
I have a problem with the search terms in the BP transaction. In the 'Adress' section, I want to replace the field 'Search term 1/2' by 'UID/N° de Siret' and I cannot manage to do it. I tried with the Screen Painter but since the field contains an I/O template, the underscore are replaced by the letters of the template. I tried many other solutions but the result is always wrong.
Can you tell me how to resolve this?

Here you will add new field group for your new field
104 and 105 are the field groups for search term.
You should not delete this entry. Just add your new field group and hide the search term.
For hiding
Go to SPRO
Folow the path
Cross application components -> SAP business partner -> business partner -> basic settings -> field groupings -> field sttributes per client
select central data and choose hide for search terms.

To do validation you have to write module in PAI which does required validations.

How to get the search option when we are creating new view

Hi,
How to get the search functionality when we are creating new view.
Ex:- if we see the standard component BT112S_SC. Under this
AdvancedSP is the view,
same kind of view if i want to create new view with same bol entity in my new component. I am unable to get that search functionality.
for search functionality,,i think view should inherit the super class CL_BTSRV_ADVS_CNTRL, but in my new view controller class, i am unable to find this class.
Can anybody give me some inputs on this.

PDF files are very faint and the search function doesn't highlight the search term when found

I'm using Firefox 5 with Windows 7 64 bit. When I open a PDF file the file is very faint and the search function doesn't highlight the search term in the body of the PDF.

3. On the "Advanced" page select "Chinese" from the language
dropdown list.
Then I perform the following steps:
1. Use RoboHelp 7 to generate Webhelp (my Webhelp project
contains localized Chinese files).
2. In the "Search" tab, input a Chinese character(For example
"连接") and perform a seach.
Result: Serching...(or 正在搜索) or
No topics found (or
未找到主题)。
Expected result: I can get the result.

If you load data you can see the data load successful and the no of cells updated in the dialogue box.
If there any records rejected they are thrown into dataload .err file.
If you want to validate the input data you can verify the input records in the excel add-in.
If you want validate the business logic ( ie data at the high level ) you have to write SQL Procedures or Custom programs at the Source layer to calculate the high level data in ESSBASE and compare the results in essbase Roll UP Using Excel add-in.

I am populating data cursor to multi record block.
Block contain 5 items. I am populating data cursor to block for 4 items. User will enter one item value that is quantity field.
If user enter negative values and decimal points in quantity filed i need to display message to user item level.
Please do the needful how to do it.
