How to view UTF8 data

I have written a java application to store the UTF8 data into the database. When I use the browser to insert the data and view the data, it's ok.
However, after I used the browser to insert the data, I cannot view the UTF8 data using SQLPLUS, although I have set the NLS_LANG in the registry to AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8
(rubbish code came out)
Do anyone know how to view the UTF8 data (not using browser)?

This is because to view Unicode you need to be using a Unicode enabled application. Internet Browser is Unicode enabled.
SQL*Plus is what we call an Ansi code page program. It can only support the native character set of your operating system. For example, when running on standard English MS Windows, the character set is WE8MSWIN1252. So SQL*PLUS running on English Windows will only display the 251 characters defined by this character set.
I believe on certain UNIX platforms (say Solaris) you can change the OS character set to UTF8, in that case SQL*Plus on that platform will be able to interpret and display all the UTF8 characters, assuming that you have the Unicode font installed.
Oracle Forms is a Unicode enable application, by setting NLS_LANG character set to UTF8, it should be able to display your UTF8 data.
Two other options for you, however both requiring internet browser supoprt.
1. Use iSQL*Plus , this is the broswer based version of SQL*Plus, it supports UTF8. This is the one I recommend.
2. If you just need to view your data, you can set your client NLS_LANG character set to UTF8; Launch SQL*Plus and SPOOL out the output into a text file. Open the text file in a browser but make sure the browser encoding is set to UTF8.
BTW, there is a separate Globalization Support and NLS discussion forum on OTN for NLS related issues.

How to view the date when the Customers credit limit updated in SAP-FSCM?

OK you can look at field - LIMIT_CHG_DATE in the table - UKMBP_CMS_SGM via SE16
I would assume you would want to run it based on a date range.

  • How to view plan data

    Helloo experts,
I want to see the actuals and <b>plan</b> data for  given <b>costcenters/Internal</b> orders.
I use T-code: KSB1 for viewing Actuals data. But, I dont know how to view Plan data.
What is the best way to look at it.

    Reddy,
What do you mean by you want to check this data ? Well this is the data that was entered into SAP by some excel ( i am guessing) - So that's the data that was inputted into SAP.
Do you have any other system where you do the planning and then load it into SAP ? If you want to compare with that - yes you can.
If you are using BPS for planning, yes you can compare by preparing a report from the transactional infocube in BW ( which would hold the planning data) with this R/3 report.
Hope that helps - Let me know if you need any other info.
    Thanks,

  • HOW TO VIEW SPATIAL DATA

I don4t know how to view spatial data stored in an oracle database with a graphic representation.
Are any ORACLE product to do this? Or any third party product?
    Thanks

In Oracle 8.1.6, OEM ships with a simple
Java viewer to help you tune your data.
    At the command line, type:
    oemapp sdoadvisor
In Oracle's next release (8.1.7) the JDBC
access to Oracle Spatial types is
much faster (more comperable to OCI access).
You will see the improved performance
    in the OEM tool.
    =====
There is also an unsupported Motif visualizer
    (written in PRO*C and OCI).
You can download the motif viewer at:
    http://technet.oracle.com/products/spatial/
    under "sample code".
It is compiled for Solaris, but you
can compile it for any UNIX platform.
    Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • How to view creation date using 'ls' command?

    Hi all,
Anyone know how to get the 'ls' command to display creation date? When I do 'ls -la' I get the mod date, but cannot figure out how to view the creation date.
    Thanks!

While there is NO way to do this as ls will only show the mod time there is using another program
    DL this HFSDebug.
Running it on any file will display to you Create, Mod and access times. An example for you

  • Edit Date updated for whole catalog (how to view edit date?)

I suddenly found out that my publish service that exports newly edited photos suddenly contained all my photos, and I have no idea how that happened. It seems the Edit Date has been changed, but I can not find any way to view the date, so it's difficult to pinpoint exactly when it happened.
    So - two questions:
How could that happen? I have not made any mass updates and not changed the development version either
How to view the Edit Date?
    Thanks

Well, a good guess would be: something is getting (or did get) changed.
If its not a plugin, then its something else (at the risk of stating the obvious...)
ChangeManager can provide a detailed list of all develop settings and metadata changes between any two states of a photo, so if its develop settings or metadata that's changing, then you can see exactly what.
Some kinds of changes ChangeManager can not detail - if the changes are falling in the "mystery" class, at least you'd have it narrowed down... - may be worth trying...
PS - Have you checked Metadata Status Date in the library panel - thats the closest thing I know of to the edit-date that is exposed by the Lightroom UI - you cant filter or collect on it, but you can at least view it.

  • How to view "Log data changes" - TC?

    Hello SDN-Community,
i have activated the flag "Log data changes" in se13. Now i want to view the data changes, made in this table.
    1. I know there is a transaction to view those changes, only i can't remember.... I trust somebody else does!?
    2. Do i have to activate the flag "Change document" in all data elements of the corresponding table (se12/Further characteristics/Change document)??
Please help! Answer(s) will be rewarded....
    Thanks!
    Gunther

    Log data changes
The logging flag defines whether changes to the data records of a table should be logged. If logging is activated, every change (with UPDATE, DELETE) to an existing data record by a user or an application program is recorded in a log table in the database.
Note: Activating logging slows down accesses that change the table. First of all, a record must be written in the log table for each change. Secondly, many users access this log table in parallel. This could cause lock situations even though the users are working with different application tables.
Logging only takes place if parameter rec/client in the system profile is set correctly. Setting the flag on its own does not cause the table changes to be logged.
The existing logs can be displayed with Transaction Table history (SCU3).

  • How to view SDO data graphically?

I have a functioning spatial database, but now I want to view the data to make sure it looks like what I think it should be. I do not want to use any middleware like ArcSDE etc. Is there any alternatives besides MapViewer? If not, is there any easy step by step instructions to get it working somewhere on the web?
    Thanks in advance-M.

Because Geometry is a local company who
I use a lot for external Oracle Spatial application
development. A number of us have been wanting a
good tool from a while to allow us to view and test
Oracle Spatial shapes and queries. Geometry had built
their own viewer until I found out JUMP and sent them
the links. Before Christmas they had built a beta of
a viewer plugin for JUMP. However, when they release
it is entirely up to them.
Contact Andrew Betlehem at Geometry: [email protected] (though he is on r/l for the
    next three weeks).
BTW They have lots of experience with Oracle Spatial
and have built some good tools (their
Spatial Loader Advanced and Spatial Extractor are
excellent) and software (eg WMS, WFS, 3D web servers over Oracle Spatial) for OS.

  • How to view blob data.

I had created a table for storing image as well as the package. How to view the image. I am using sql developer.. is it possible to view.. ?? or else how..??
Is it possible to view through http connecting via oracle client to the database.

You can save the BLOB column with help of UTL_FILE and UTL_RAW as operating system file and then view that with some external software.

  • How to view mdsplus data using labview

I posted this question in the Labview board, but seems nobody replies it so far. I am not sure which board is the best place to post this question. So I just reposted here.  Thanks a lot.
I am a newbie to Labview. I am trying to write some vi to view and write data to Mdsplus.  I have downloaded Mdsplus(labview), and can find the Mdsplus functions, like mdsconnect, mdsput, ect, in the Call Library Function vi. But I have no ideal of how to use it. I tried to use Mdsconnect function to connect to some machine, but it always gives me an error message like, Labview: An exception occurred within the external code called by a call library function node.......  I was searching for help documents on the internet, but couldn't find anything useful. Could you please help me for this problem?  If you have any example of such vi, or teach me how to do it, that would be very helpful. I am using Labview 8 (windows). I would greatly appreciate your help!  Looking forward for your reply.
