How was performance of JavaFX Application

Hi all,
I read one forum about JavaFX performance related information.. they mentioned like this..
The first thing you’ll notice is that it’s very slow. The demo takes a very long time to load and start, and real time performance is disappointing. Here is how it compares:
JavaFX — 14 fps
Firefox + Silverlight (JavaScript) — 56 fps
Firefox + Flex — 62 fps
Adobe AIR — 62 fps
Firefox + Silverlight (CLR) — 99 202 fps (update: 202 fps after fixing main timer’s latency)
(All tests were performed on Pentium M 1.7 machine under Windows XP SP2)
It is 4.4x slower than Flash and 7x 14x slower than Silverlight (CLR-based variant).
On a positive side, development with JavaFX is fun, the language is very compact and efficient for building complex dynamic layouts. There is a great converter to JavaFX from SVG format and JavaFXPad is done nicely too.
I want to know that how was the performance of JavaFX application.??
It seems that very slow while running on WebBrowser.. ???
Thanks
R Prabu

lol
work with more memory hh....
no serious make sure that your garbagecollector is run very often you can make your own if you want...
work with servlets...
hope i helped you out

    Please tell me how to do it

    Redistribution of JRE is allowed by its license and you can use wrappers such Launch4J (there are others) to generate an executable for exemple to create a (Swing-based) autorun installation screen for a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM which works even on systems where Java is not installed.
    Redistribution of the JavaFX runtime is still not allowed...

  • How to display the javafx application to a web application

    I've got a javaFX application .(My IDE is NetBeans 6.8)I choose the main.fx in the opened project,then run>>project configure >> web browser and Shift+F6.It runs as expected.
    and the path is "+http://localhost:8082/servlet/org.netbeans.modules.javafx.project.JnlpDownloadServlet/E%3A/Source+Codes/NTBS/MyProject/dist//MyPage.html+"
    However,I tried to access that page again when I closed the NetBeans.It failed.
    so I attempt to change the default html code.
    default code
    <script src="http://dl.javafx.com/1.2/dtfx.js"></script>
    <script>
        javafx(
                  archive: "MyJar.jar",
              draggable: true,
                  width: 300,
                  height: 300,
                  code: "MyPackage.Main",
                  name:
    "MyProject"
    </script>the changed code
    <script src="http://dl.javafx.com/1.2/dtfx.js"></script>
    <script>
        javafx(
            archive: "MyJar.jnlp",//or the like this   archive: "MyJar_browser.jnlp",
              draggable: true,
                  width: 300,
                  height: 300,
                  code: "MyPackage.Main",
                  name:
    "MyProject"
    </script>but it is futile.
    Considering maybe it needs server, I put the jar file and html file into tomcat ,it is nouse either.

    Thank you!
    yes I do.but I tried many many times.Finally,I got a phenomenon .Under Apache Tomcat container ,we can not access them by jnlp files,while the javafx's jar files set into the WEB-INF folder.
    Surely.we must put new another foler on the root to place javafx.
    Actually,we habitually put jar files into the lib folder which just under WEB-INF foler,and the JSP&servlet's specification.
    Is there a new way?

  • How do I remove old applications from my new Macbook Pro that came over when the data on my iMac was migrated to the new computer.

    How do I remove old applications from my new Macbook Pro that were part of the data that was migrated over from my older iMac?
    Thanks

    If the applications were originally drag and drop installations you can simply drag them to the trash and empty. If they were installed by an installer there should be an uninstaller included. If you're not sure you should check with the software developer for instructions. In this case Google can be your friend.

  • How to pass Objects from Java App to JavaFX Application

    Hello,
    New to the JavaFX. I have a Java Swing Application. I am trying to use the TreeViewer in JavaFX since it seems to be a bit better to use and less confusing.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    I have my Java app calling my treeviewer JavaFX as
    -- Java Application --
    public class EPMFrame extends JFrame {
    Customer _custObj
    private void categoryAction(ActionEvent e)   // method called by Toolbar
            ocsCategoryViewer ocsFX;    //javaFX treeviewer
            ocsFX = new ocsCategoryViewer();    // need to pass in the Customer Object to this Not seeing how to do it.
                                                  // tried ocsFX = new ocsCategoryViewer(_custObj) ;    nothing happened even when set this as a string with a value
    public class ocsCategoryViewer extends Application {
    String _customer;
    @Override
        public void start(Stage primaryStage) {
         TreeView <String> ocsTree;
         TreeItem <String> root , subcat;
      TreeItem <String> root = new TreeItem <String> ("/");
            root.setExpanded(true);
             ocsTree = new TreeView <String> (root);
             buildTree();     // this uses the Customer Object.
            StackPane stkp_root = new StackPane();
            stkp_root.getChildren().add(btn);
            stkp_root.getChildren().add(ocsTree);
            Scene scene = new Scene(stkp_root, 300, 250);
            primaryStage.setTitle("Tree Category Viewer");
            primaryStage.setScene(scene);
            primaryStage.show();
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            _customer = args[0];      // temporarily trying to pass in string.
            launch(args);

    JavaFX and Swing integration is documented by Oracle - make sure you understand that before doing further development.
    What are you really trying to do?  The answer to your question depends on the approach you are taking (which I can't really work out from your question).  You will be doing one of:
    1. Run your Swing application and your JavaFX application as different processes and communicate between them.
    This is the case if you have both a Swing application with a main which you launch (e.g. java MySwingApp) and JavaFX application which extends application which you launch independently (e.g. java MyJavaFXApp).
    You will need to do something like open a client/server network socket between the applications and send the data between them.
    2. Run a Swing application with embedded JavaFX components.
    So you just run java MySwingApp.
    You use a JFXPanel, which is "a component to embed JavaFX content into Swing applications."
    3. Run a Java application with embedded Swing components.
    So you just run java MyJavaFXApp.
    You use a SwingNode, which is "used to embed a Swing content into a JavaFX application".
    My recommendation is:
    a. Don't use approach number one and have separate apps written in Swing and Java - that would be pretty complicated and unwarranted for almost all applications.
    b. Don't mix the two toolkits unless you really need to.  An example of a real need is that you have a huge swing app based upon the NetBeans platform and you want to embed a couple of JavaFX graphs in there.  But if your application is only pretty small (e.g., it took less than a month to write), just choose one toolkit or the other and implement your application entirely in that toolkit.  If your entire application is in Swing and you are just using JavaFX because you think its TreeView is easier to program, don't do that; either learn how to use Swing's tree control and use that or rewrite your entire application in JavaFX.  Reasons for my suggestion are listed here: JavaFX Tip 9: Do Not Mix Swing / JavaFX
    c. If you do need to mix the two toolkits, the answer of which approach to use will be obvious.  If you have a huge Swing app and want to embed one or two JavaFX components in it, then use JFXPanel.  If you have a huge JavaFX app and want to embed one or two Swing components in it, use a SwingNode.  Once you do start mixing the two toolkits be very careful about thread processing, which you are almost certain screw up at least during development, no matter how an experienced a developer you are.  Also sharing the data between the Swing and JavaFX components will be trivial as you are now running everything in the same application within the virtual machine and it is all just Java so you can just pass data around as parameters to constructors and method calls, the same way you usually do in a Java program, you can even use static classes and data references to share data but usually a dependency injection framework is better if you are going to do that - personally I'd just stick to simply passing data through method calls.

    "You cannot install iWeb Update on this volume. A qualifying copy of iWeb was not found in /Applications." How do I fix this?

    Version 2.0.4 is iWeb 08 and direct publishing via ftp is not available in iWeb 08 and never has been.  You have the option of publishing to MobileMe, but you can publish via ftp, but you need to select the option publish to a local folder instead and then upload using Cyberduck, which is a free and dedicated ftp client.
    If you want the inbuilt ftp function, then you will need to upgrade your iLife package to either iLife 09 which contains iWeb 09 or iLife 11, which also contains iWeb 09.  For this, you need to purchase both of these packages.  Either go to Amazon and try and get a copy of iLife 09 more cheaply or purchase iLife 11 directly from the Apple store.
    This is what you will need to do and iWeb 08, which is the version you have, never has had built in ftp so that option will never be available to you unless you upgrade which you will have to pay for.  Upgraded and updates are different things.  Updates are just your normal run of the mill software updates and address bug fixes etc., whereas you will need to pay for full upgrades to other packages such as from iLife 08 to iLife 09 or 11.

  • How to optimize Database Calls to improve performance of an application

    Hi,
    I have a performance issue with my applications. It takes a lot of time to load, as it is making several calls to the database. And, moreover, the resultset has more than 2000 records that are returned. I need to know what is the better way to improve the performance
    1. What is the solution to optimize the database calls so that I can improve the performance of my application and also improve on the trun around time to load the web pages.
    2. Stored procedures are a good way to get the data from the result set iteratively. How can I implement this solution in Java?
    This is very important, and any help is greatly appreciated.

    This is very important, and any help is greatly appreciated.1. 2000 records inside a resultset are not a big number.
    2. Which RDBMS you use?
    Concerning the answer to 2. you have different possibilities. The best thing is always to handle as many transactions as possible inside the database. Therefore a stored procedure is the best approach imho.
    Below there is an example for an Oracle RDBMS.
    Assumption #1 you have created an object (demo_obj) in your Oracle database:
    create type demo_obj as object( val1 number, val2 number, val3 number);
    create type demo_array as table of demo_obj;
    /Assumption #2 you've created a stored function to get the values of the array in your database:
    create or replace function f_demo ( p_num number )
    return demo_array
    as
        l_array demo_array := demo_array();
    begin
        select demo_obj(round(dbms_random.value(1,2000)),round(dbms_random.value(2000,3000)),round(dbms_random.value(3000,4000)))
        bulk collect into l_array
          from all_objects
         where rownum <= p_num;
        return l_array;
    end;
    /For getting the data out of database use the following Java program (please watch the comments):
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import oracle.sql.*;
    import oracle.jdbc.*;
    public class VarrayDemo {
         public static void main(String args[]) throws IOException, SQLException {
              DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
              Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
                        "jdbc:oracle:oci:@TNS_ENTRY_OF_YOUR_DB", "scott", "tiger"); // I am using OCI driver here, but one can use thin driver as well
              conn.setAutoCommit(false);
              Integer numRows = new Integer(args[0]); // variable to accept the number of rows to return (passed at runtime)
              Object attributes[] = new Object[3]; // "attributes" of the "demo_obj" in the database
              // the object demo_obj in the db has 3 fields, all numeric
              // create an array of objects which has 3 attributes
              // we are building a template of that db object
              // the values i pass below are just generic numbers, 1,2,3 mean nothing really
              attributes[0] = new Integer(1);
              attributes[1] = new Integer(2);
              attributes[2] = new Integer(3);
              // this will represent the data type DEMO_OBJ in the database
              Object demo_obj[] = new Object[1];
              // make the connection between oracle <-> jdbc type
              demo_obj[0] = new oracle.sql.STRUCT(new oracle.sql.StructDescriptor(
                        "DEMO_OBJ", conn), conn, attributes);
              // the function returns an array (collection) of the demo_obj
              // make the connection between that array(demo_array) and a jdbc array
              oracle.sql.ARRAY demo_array = new oracle.sql.ARRAY(
                        new oracle.sql.ArrayDescriptor("DEMO_ARRAY", conn), conn,
                        demo_obj);
              // call the plsql function
              OracleCallableStatement cs =
                   (OracleCallableStatement) conn.prepareCall("BEGIN ? := F_DEMO(?);END;");
              // bind variables

                   oracle.sql.STRUCT obj = (STRUCT) rs.getObject(2);
                   Object vals[] = obj.getAttributes();
                   System.out.println(vals[0] + " " + vals[1] + " " + vals[2]);
              // cleanup
              cs.close();
              conn.close();
    }For selecting 20.000 records it takes only a few seconds.

  • How can I get rid of this constant popup "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action that was performed earlier"? Thanks

    I'm an avid eBay seller and shopper. Every time I move from one of my items back to my eBay main page I get this pop up "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action that was performed earlier." How do I disable the message? Running current version of Firefox for windows and Vista.

    Are you getting that anytime you visit a page? Or after you hit the 'refresh', 'back' or 'forward' button?
    This error is not usually an error telling you that anything is broken, it's warning you that you are re-doing something you have already done. The page that you are trying to re-access, or refresh was a page that was doing something. Maybe you told the page to search for something, or you were filling out a form, or perhaps doing something like adding something to a shopping cart. Firefox warns you in case it's something you really don't want to do again; for example, accidentally buying a second toaster, or re-sending a comment form.
    If you only were searching or navigating around a page, it's generally ok to press the 'Resend' button.
    This safety feature is not unique to firefox, I can't offhand think of a browser that doesn't have it (though the wording may vary).
    However, if you are getting it constantly, every page you visit, on every website, all the time, then it's a bug.

  • How to identify the missing reecords once load was performed

    hi experts
    if  load was performed and we found some missing records are there how to identify them and how to populate them again. if the records are only few we can manually find them and selecting and info package level in data selection we can send them but if they are millions of records how to identify them and how to solve this kind of issue.
    is there any solution for this apart from data reconsillation
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Generally who is accessing the reports(End users) , those only can findout that if any data is missing in the data load and showing any wrong data.
    They will know and compare the data in R/3 inform to BW team , what they got wrong data insted of Original data.
    According to that we need to Analyse the data flow BW >>> R/3 -( Top to bottom we need to check all the data targets by giving the missing values)
    To see the contents we use the T.code is : LISTCUBE ( Here you can see the content and request IDs and source) , according to the we need to analys and find , whether problem is occured
    LIST CUBE : To see the contents of data targets in BW side
    In the below cases data will show wrong in the reports
    1. If the data was not loaded into BW side.
    2. Even if the data is loaded into BW side, Some times Due to the incorrect rotines/update rules the data might be showing wrong in the reports.
    3. If any issue with varibles/ C.KF's/ R.K.Fs used in the reports, the data will show wrong due wrong calculation.
    4. if any wrong selection in the varibles also will show Wrong data.
    So, we need to analys all these things and compare with R/3 data,
    First we need to check the data in BW Intial load data target by comparing the R/3 data source with extract checker (RSA3)
    RSA3 : Extract checker in R/3 side
    in some cases, you need to check the data base tables if the datasource is Generic
    RSO2 (T.code) - To display Generic data source and findout the tables.
    After Analysis, if you find out that if any data is missing from the source system , you need to run Repair Full request, which is not effect previous delta
    Repair full request :
    Go to info package :>> setting as Full insted of delta
    change the setting in menu >> Check mark for repaire full request
    Selection : Give the selection for missing record in the infopackage in selection Tab
    After this you will get the as per your selections, without distrubing your delta load >> next you can run your delta load as usal
    I hope it may help you to analys the issue.
    Regards.

  • To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier. How do i get rid of this message? or do i need to just drop firefox all together?

    To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier.
