HowTo drill down calculated fields

Hi.
I have a report where I want to drill down calculated fields. I have e.g. two detail colums A and B and want to show the multiplication C=A*B in a chart with drill down functionality. The problem is, that I either can not select the calculated field C in the diagramm assistent when group layout ist activated or activating advanced layout indeed field C can be selected, but than there is no drill down functionality.

  • Howto drill down to different hirerachies

    Hi all
I have a geography dimension with 4 different type of hierarchies. In the business model those 4 hierarchies share the same parent(WorldWide) and the same lowest level(Store).
In the presentation model I create those 4 hierarchies by dupplicating the parent level and the lowest level.
When I test my report I notice that from the parent level(WW) I always drill down to the same hierarchy even if i'm in a different hierarchy.
My question : is it possible to define to wich hierarchy the drill down must occure.
If it's not possible howto disable the parent level drill down?

  • More than one selection on the structure cause drill down failure

    Hello Expert,
There is one structure, say stru1, with one selection, say sel1. The result on sel1 is OK. When to drill down on field, say fld1, is OK also.
To add a new selection, say sel2, the result on sel1 is OK. However, to drill down with the fld1, the quantity  under sel1 is empty. But the total on sel1 is OK. And the drill down on fld1 under sel2 is OK.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

    Hello Brijesh
I succeed do this operation in other works, but not this. After performing drill down in the first dimension, i clicked on the second dimension and nothing happens.
It doesn't emit any error message.
Normally should be able to view the data calculated for the two dimensions. I have 6 small dimensions tables (average of 700 records). I don't know what can be.
    Thanks,

  • Drill down reporting - add new field

    Hi experts,

    Hi
For  columns  select  'key figure  with  characteristics'  .  There   give Key figure - balance c/f'  and  select  the  characteristic  from the   left side  list.
Then  for  rows  select  ' characteristic'    and   again select  from  left  hand side list.
You  define the  total  where required.   Save this  form .
You can also   create  report in  GRR1  using the form created.

  • Problem: Calculation YTD + Drill Down on period

    Hi erveryone,
I have a question about the calculation of a YTD value.
The requirement is to show MTD and YTD values in the report based on the variable. So far no issue. But the requirement is also to do drill-down on period.
Inital Report view: Variable on Periode = 03.2010
Profit Center | MTD | YTD
    PC1 100 250
Drill-Down on Periode - What happen is:
Profit Center | Period | MTD | YTD
    PC1 01 100 100
    PC1 02 50 50
    PC1 03 100 100
    The Goal should be:
    Period | MTD | YTD
    01 100 100
    02 50 150
    03 100 250
How can we solve this problem without a "static query" with a structure? Calculation the YTD in the Backend (Cube / DSO)
For your Information this report is based on the new FI-GL (0FI_GL_14)
    Thanks for you help!
    Andreas

    Hi Vijay,
thanks for your fast replay. The cumulation works.
Now I get the following result:
Drill-Down on Periode - What happen is:
Profit Center | Period | MTD | YTD
    PC1 01 100 100
    PC1 02  50  150
    PC1 03 100 250
but when I remove one month then he calculate the YTD just on the values in the view and not on the data basis.
    Remove Date 01
Profit Center | Period | MTD | YTD
    PC1 02   50  50
    PC1 03 100 150
    I want to have:
Profit Center | Period | MTD | YTD
    PC1 02   50 150
    PC1 03 100 250
Do you or someone have an idea how to fix that? Over special selection in the Query?
The MTD & YTD figures are RKF in the Query. Both are based on 0DEB_CRE_LC
    Thanks in advance!

  • Strange behavior with hidden text field for drill down

    Hi All,
I am pretty sure I know the cause, just not sure how to work around...
I am trying to create a drill down report just like in the App Dev guide, and I have done everything the same as the example (2 times, once to follow the guide, and now on my app). The only difference is that I am using a text field rather than a numeric field as the link. This shouldn't be a problem (I wouldn't think) except that the text I NEED to use has '<==' in the middle. So when I check my session state var's, this is what I see:
    CHPAG0SC_MAILCDN_000000047_ CHPAG0SC_MAILCDN_000000047_ <==20060525101642
When what I should see is:
    CHPAG0SC_MAILCDN_000000047_ <==20060525101642
So I think that I am gettting duplication because of the characters, but again I don't know how to solve it.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Corey

    Hi Scott,
I am trying to create a drill down report similar to the one in the app developers guide. I have a query on pg 1 that includes the required text field as the link. When I click the link, I get an error on pg 2 - which is trying to use the value from pg 1. I did check and saw that even though I set this value in session state (I thought that was what happened when I assigned the 'name' and 'value' in the column link), it is passed in the url, which is where I figured it was breaking. As stated, I need to use this text value as it is the only unique key for the data (currently - this is a data validation step (not an ApEx validation), where users are handling issues with data uploaded from a csv).
My current process is as follows:
    1. User uploads 2 csv's
    2. Proc moves (from wwv_flow_files) and parses csv back into records and inserts into temp (all varchar2) table(s).
    3. User is displayed 3 'reports' - for each type of validation required - from the stage/temp table
    4. User would click on the 'Edit' link (like the drill down sample) to see more details about the record.
    5. Once the user is done with these reports, they would click another button to 'process' the data (move it into base tables)
Because the text field is always unique, I figured I wouldn't create a sequence for this like I have for the 'base' (destination) tables.
I didn't know that I was using a 'get' rather than a 'post', but of course it is a link, not a button - so I should ahve known better.
Is there a way to do this without adding a sequence generated id for each, or is that just the quickest way?
    Thanks again,
    Corey

  • Group Description in Drill down and grouping on field

I want to put a formula field for grouping, but I want to display some text(description) in group drill down.
My group field is numeric and I want to display text on right side of drill down report.

    Hi Seema,
In order to display a different group name you may try the below steps:
    -  Right click on the group and click on change Group option and then click on Options taband then check the box which says 'Customize Group Name Field'.
    - Now either 'choose from existing field' or 'use a formula as group name' to display the group description.
This would help you to display the appropriate description for that field.

  • How to drill down another one report on one field value of one row

    Hi,
I have two reports that can link together on one field of respective database query command. The effect i want to reach is that when user clicks this field value on some row of one report, which i call source object, another report, target object, would use this value as input parameter and the page would jump to this linked report. I can see Format Editor provides Hyperlink feature when one field is edited, but i don't know how to associate another report as what i described here.
What if one the following conditions is met:
1.one of two objects, source object, is one chart object
2.target object is  one chart object
3.two objects are both chart objects
Note: two objects is separately from different reports.
Additionally, is it possible to code for hyperlink functionality under both .NET WinForm and WebForm? what if under RDC?
    Thank you

I don't know if you can use the hyperlink to call a subreport but the following has worked for me in Crystal 10:
    1. In your main report create a group on the field you want to pass to the subreport.
    2. In the Group Footer, use the "Insert Section below" menu command so that you have a Group Footer 1a and a Group Footer 1b.
    3. Put your table fields in the Group Footer 1b section (this would be similar to your Details data).
    4. Put the sub report in the Group Footer 1a section. Set up the links to the subreport from a table field in your main report.
    5. Right-click on the sub-report, select "Format Sub-report". Click on the "x-2" button to the right of the Suppress option and enter "DrillDownGroupLevel = 0" in the "Formula Workshop-Formula Format Editor-Suppress" window and save it.
When you double-click on your data field (i.e. the field in Group footer 1b) it should drill-down and run your subreport.

  • Drill down on calculated columns

I have need to drill down on a calculated column as below. But instead returns only '0-2 Days' or '3-5 Days', it returns everything.
    CASE When TIMESTAMPDIFF (SQL_TSI_DAY, "Service Request"."Opened Date", now() )<= 2 Then '0-2 Days' When TIMESTAMPDIFF (SQL_TSI_DAY, "Service Request"."Opened Date", now() ) between 3 and 5 Then '3-5 Days' ......
    Else '15 Days Over' END
    Any help are much appreciated!

    Hi,
I also experienced some difficulties with that. In our situation we had no drill down, but a navigation on a bar chart. We had green bars for the SRs closed in time and red bars for SRs not closed in time. Set the interaction at the formula column for values at navigation to the target report and also the navigation at the chart. In the target report insert the calculated column and set a prompted filter on it. It did the trick for us.

    padmasri,
Hope your requirement is something like, when you click on a sales order number it should display that order (VA03), in a grid output displayed using set_table_for_first_display.
you can acheive it using event double click.

  • Hyperlink on fields to be enabled only after drilling down

    Hello,
I am facing a issue with drill down on OBIEE 10g. The issue is as below:
We have a geography hierarchy - Theater -> country -> state -> city.
Summary report for Orders will have the total $ value for the entire month. The summary report starts from the theater level and user can drill down to the city level Total $.
User wants a hyperlink on the total$. When user clicks on the $ value it should take the user to a detail report, that will show the individual orders that make up the total $.
But the User wants the hyperlink to be enabled only when he has drilled down to the city level.
Is there a way to achieve this? Please let me know.
    Thanks
    Vin

    Hey,
there is a way to achieve that but it's not pretty instead of drill down create four reports top report only theater and total second theater, country and total third report theater, country, state and total and the final report all the 4 and total and keep navigate option on each reports in the final report hyper link total if the user is ok with this way try it.

    Hello All,
I have an Important Issue which I need to solve but got stuck.
The report requirement is that we need calculate the KF values based on the drill-down selection in the report at run-time.
Say for eg: if the user is drilling-down the report by customer, plant or company code or any thing else other than material group...we need to calculate / Include KF values for only Materail Group  = "A" and if we are at the materail group level we need to calculate all the material groups which includes A, B, T and so on.
Please suggest what are the avialable options for me like using virtual key figures. please provide me with some sample codes.
your help will be highly appricated.

  • Calculation Field to be mapped to different data object's column name in Oracle BAM 12c

    Hi,
I am having a challenge to enable drill down to 2nd level report by passing calculation field as parameter.
As an alternative, I am thinking to point calculation field to another data object’s column name and generate report so that I would be able to pass that as parameter to drilling report view.
Is there any way to map calculation field to different Data object’s column name? Thanks in advance.

    1. Yes, you can.
    SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá number(10));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values (10);
1 row created.1.1 and 1.2 and 2. You can choose UTF as your default character set. It allows the user of non-English characters in VARCHAR columns in your whole database. It is not per tablespace.
    SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá varchar2(100));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values ('âãäçìé');
    1 row created.
