HowTo Set the xml-stylesheet processing instruction node?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me via PLSQL XMLDOM object what method or attribute to set or howto specify the xml-stylesheet value at the time of generation of the xml document?
eg
<?xml version = '1.0'?>
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="reporthtml.xsl"?>
<Report>
<Title>ABC Report</Title>
</Report>
Currently my XML just comes out as
<?xml version = '1.0'?>
<Report>
<Title>ABC Report</Title>
</Report>
and I want to add the stylesheet reference....
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="reporthtml.xsl"?>
Any help is appreciated...

A COTS product builds the XML and inserts the respective xsl (xml:stylesheet) file name to be used for transforming the xml. I am trying to interrupt this xml and make some updations on an element and finally send the updated xml to the stream.
For the above process, I parse the input XML using DOMParser and update the elements (some internal elements). While I view the final XML that would be passed to the stream, I found the <?xml-stylesheet... PI is missing.
I somehow managed using a temp fix by doing the below. I manually pulled the PI using document.getFirstChild().getNodeValue() and reconstructed the PI and inserted it to the outgoing XML. This needs to be done every time. This might run into problems when more than one PI is used in the XML.
If the parsed XML could get the PI along with it the above problem could be resolved.
Is there any property that could be set on the parser (prior to parsing) to resolve the issue?.

  • How to read xml-stylesheet Processing Instruction from XML using DOM Parser

    Hi,
    I am trying to read an xml that contains xsl stylesheet PI using DOMParser. The parse() method reads the entire contents of the XML except the PI instruction. Below is the XML I am using to read
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <?xml-stylesheet href="../../../lang/en-us/style0/usc_profile.xsl" type="text/xsl"?>

    Can anyone let me know if there are any propery settings to be done for the DOM parser before parsing?. If so, what is the property to be set?.

  • Getting processing instruction node

    I am trying to get the following node from my input XML file.

    it is a non-sense to try changing the DOM: the encoding must be set correctly when you serialize the to an XML file, therefore, if you use JAXP:
    transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.ENCODING, "Shift_JIS");

  • How to set the Xml Encoding ISO-8859-1 to Transformer or DOMSource

    I have a xml string and it already contains an xml declaration with encoding="ISO-8859-1". (In my real product, since some of the element/attribute value contains a Spanish character, I need to use this encoding instead of UTF-8.) Also, in my program, I need to add more attributes or manipulate the xml string dynamically, so I create a DOM Document object for that. And, then, I use Transformer to convert this Document to a stream.
    My problme is: Firstly, once converted through the Transformer, the xml encoding changed to default UTF-8, Secondly, I wanted to check whether the DOM Document created with the xml string maintains the Xml Encoding of ISO-8859-1 or not. So, I called Document.getXmlEncoding(), but it is throwing a runtime error - unknown method.
    Is there any way I can maintain the original Xml Encoding of ISO-8859-1 when I use either the DOMSource or Transformer? I am using JDK1.5.0-12.
    Following is my sample program you can use.
    I would appreciate any help, because so far, I cannot find any answer to this using the JDK documentation at all.

    Thanks DrClap for your answer. With your information, I rewrote the sample program as in the following, and it works well now as I intended! About the UTF-8 and Spanish charaters, I think you are right. It looks like there can be many factors involved on this subject though - for example, the real character sets used to create an xml document, and the xml encoding information declared will matter. The special character I had a trouble was u00F3, and somehow, I found out that Sax Parser or even Document Builder parser does not like this character when encoding is set to "UTF-8" in the Xml document. My sample program below may not be a perfect example, but if you replaces ISO-8859-1 with UTF-8, and not setting the encoding property to the transfermer, you may notice that the special character in my example is broken in Test1 and Test2. In my sample, I decided to use ByteArrayInputStream instead of StringBufferInpuptStream because the documentation says StringBufferInputStream may have a problem with converting characters into bytes.
    Thanks again for your help!

  • [JAXB 2.0] Unmarshalling error if the XML contains w3c.Element nodes

    Hi!
    I'm using the JAXB 2.0 library to create an XML file according to a XML Schema (XSD).
    I use the JAXB 2.0 classes, that I have previuosly generated, to fill the data and finally I execute the marshal method to store a XML file with the object's info.
    The second step is unmarshalling the file. Alright in my first attempt: I get all the JAXB objects filled with the data of the file.
    Now I try to add w3c.dom.Element nodes underneath a JAXB object that accepts a list of w3c.dom.Elements:
    org.w3c.dom.Element cip = (org.w3c.dom.Element) doc.createElement("CIP");
    root.appendChild(cip);
    t = doc.createTextNode("CIP");
    t.setData("TEST");
    cip.appendChild(t);
    qpd3.getAny().add(cip);
    And the resulting XML file is marshalled correctly again. Moreover, the node QPD contains a list of simple nodes like 'CIP' (the w3c.dom.Element of the example).
    The second step, to try unmarshalling the XML file I just have generated:
    Using a main method in my class the file is unmarshalled with no problems.
    It's now, when I deploy the web service that calls the unmarshall method (sending the same XML file to the same function), I receive a parsing error!!
    2007-01-30 20:00:08.221 ERROR caught exception while handling request: java.lang.IllegalAccessError: void oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDNode.<init>()
    Why does this error appear??? I supose JDeveloper tries to parser the w3c.dom.Element nodes like a XSDNode and therefore it fails (what is a XSDNode...?). But if I execute the same method from the "main" of my class it works! Maybe the problem is related with the libraries that OC4J loads when it starts...
    Can anyone help me?? Thanks in advance!
    Sergi

    Hi Blaise,
    The Document class I use to generate the w3c.dom.Element nodes in the marshaling procedure belongs to oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDocument class. And it is located in the jar file: file:/C:/Oracle/jdeveloper/jdk/jre/lib/rt.jar!/org/w3c/dom/Document.class
    I have also checked if the unmarshal method of my class has linked the same library, althought is not used in the unmarshalling process (but maybe is implicit...) and it's OK.
    Have you seen something wrong?
    Thank you!
    Sergi

  • How to set the XML tree to be collapsed by default at run time?

    I am developing a simple software in Java, to improve my programming skills, the output of this program is an XML file. I am very new to XML. My question is that, every time the XML file is opened the tree is in expanded form, which appears to be the default setting at run time. I want it to be fully collapsed when the XML file is opened. I have read about certain solutions to this problem by using XSL or CSS. I am not familiar with XSL at the moment so I have not explored it yet. Is there any other way around this problem.
    I would like someone to just point me in the right direction so that I can eventually get to the answer.
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thankyou

How the individual editor shows the XML is their property. For example, if you open the file in notepad, you may not get the pretty XML however if you open if the file in XML editor like XMLSpy, you may get its hierarchical representation.

    Sorry, what I said was rubbish, because the LSMW and the session run in different external sessions.
    I have searched forum for these terms: "company BUK parameter BDC background"
    These threads Is it possible to set default company code in SM35? and Release BDC in SM35 in background, How to set defaul company code? seem promising, but I'm not sure they really solve.
    In case these threads don't help you, I think you can create your own Z transaction which sets the BUK parameter id and then does a LEAVE TO TRANSACTION 'ABAON'. Then create again the recording on the Z transaction.
    If you are using ECC6, then you may also enhance the standard to reset BUK parameter id at the very beginning of ABAON, in case it's run in batch input (sy-binpt = 'X'). Be careful as sometimes SAP does batch input on some transactions, so that could make the standard fail.
    Last thing, you can contact SAP support, though it might probably be considered as consulting.

  • How to set the horisontal offset for a node relative its parent in JTree?

    When using large icons for nodes in a JTree the whole tree looks very compact. I found a method setRowHeight(int height) to set the row height that got med some space between the rows. But I couldn't find a simular method to increase the offset between a child node and its parent.
    Any suggestions?

    You can control the offset through the BasicTreeUI, as discussed in this thread:

  • Setting the XML tag value in Java script

    Hi,
       I am trying to set a XML tag value in the initialize event of a text field.. The code works fine in FormCalc but I needed it to work in java script.
         FormCalc:
         $record.prospectApplication.typeName = "namedInsured";

         xfa.record.prospectApplication.typeName = "namedInsured";
         The above JavaScript does not work. Can any one help on this?
    Thanks

    Hi Srini,
    In JavaScript you don't get any default properties so you need to say;
    xfa.record.prospectApplication.typeName.value = "namedInsured";
    That is assign the value to the "value" property not the dataValue object.

  • Windows XP - Howto Disable the broken backup process

    I finally found a source on how to disable the backup process during the iPhone sync. Here's the link. Tried it myself and works great. I plan on removing this XML edit once Apple distributes a proper fix:
    http://www.eidac.de/?p=60
    From the article:"
    Disabling the slow iTunes Backup on Windows is a little more tricky, but it works. First of all close ITunes and then follow these steps:
    1. Locate your iTunesPrefs.xml file. It’s usually located in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes or C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes.
    Hint: If the folder Application Data does not show up, make sure that hidden files are visible in the Windows Explorer
    2. Backup your iTunesPrefs.xml file
    3. Open iTunesPrefs.xml using a capable text-editor (e.g. Notepad++, Ultraedit, but not MS Notepad)
    4. Search for a section called User Preferences and paste the following snipped into the User Preferences Section after the first <dict>:
    <key>DeviceBackupsDisabled</key>
    <data>
    dHJ1ZQ==
    </data>
    After you’ve done that it should exactly look like the screenshot on the left.
    5. Save the file and restart iTunes. Backups should now be disabled. To enable backups again delete the XML Snippet from iTunesPrefs.xml file."

    Hi Nick,
    There isn't an easy way to do it via Mac OS X or System Preferences. But I did find this article that looks like it has some pretty good resources.

    I can't find anywhere on the console that shows or allows one to change the XML
    implementation that is used in the Weblogic Server (6.1).
    I tried putting the xml jars prior to the weblogic.jar in the classpath, but did
    not see any changes to the problem I am having (see previous post), and do not
    know how to tell if I impacted the server at all.
    Thanks,
    kEn

    Thanks.  That .cfg file shows Times Regular for the following characters, but none of these characters are the regular alphabet, (are they?) so there must be yet another place?
    mathchar.cfg    53      < plus        2b Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    54      < equal       3d Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    70      < gg          c8 Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    71      < ll          c7 Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    93      < fact        21 Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    94      < dagger      a0 Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    98      < minus       d0 Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    106      < uequal      3d Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    112      < diff        64 Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    116      < ucomma      2c Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    117      < semicolon   3b Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    118      < optotal     64 Times Regular>
    mathchar.cfg    127      < power       5e Times Regular>
    I've determined (by comparing equation string to body string visually) that Times is in fact the font being used.  I just don't see yet how that gets determined.  Any further thoughts?

  • How to set the control-on hierarchical tree nodes

    Hi,
    I have created form in which at the left it has hierarchical tree structure(BOM) and towards the right it brings up the query results for selected node.
    Now, I have a button upon clicking which I navigate to the root node by issuing
    "Ftree.set_Tree_selection(htree, 1, Ftree.select_on);".
    But, it cannot automatically run the ' when-tree-node-selected' trigger '.
    any solution???
    Its really urgent.I have a customer demo on monday.
    Please help me asap.
    regards,
    Nagadeep.

    Hello Nagadeep,
    couldn't you just put the code from the trigger into a procedure
    and run that after the navigation to the item?
    Just a thought,
    Bernd
    The docs state that:
    No programmatic action will cause the When-Tree-Node-Selected trigger to fire. Only end-user action will generate an event.
    Probably due to performance reasons.

  • "A fatal error occurred during the XML merging process" - issue

    All,
    We have now been able to by pass an initial error message (Failed to add BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SharePoint 2007 PIK to SharePoint) during the PIK installation, but unfortunately another one is popping up now.
    System specs:
    - Sharepoint 2007 SP2
    - BOE XI 3.1 .NET SDK
    - BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SharePoint 2007 Portal Integration Kit
    The switch u201Csp2007=1u201D behind the setup.exe in a command prompt has to be used to overcome the initial error message.
    The new error message is "A fatal error occurred during the XML merging processu201D.
    If you would have any pointers or tips how to solve this, I would very much appreciate your help.
