HP pavillon dv6500 processer upgrade

Hi I have become the owner of a HP pavillon dv6500 laptop wich is fitted with a Athlon TK-53 (1.7-GHz. 512-MB L2 cache) which i want to speed up, i have allready replaced the hard drive with a ssd and increased the ram to 4GB and i would like to upgrade to a faster processer, I know the processer is a Athlon TK-53 (1.7-GHz. 512-MB L2 cache) but i cannot find any details of this processer in any of the tables to compare it against any other i know it is a socket S1 processer but before i try buying a replacment i want to know that it will speed things up before i pay to upgrade.
at the moment i know if i had not started upgrading it it would have been cheeper to buy a new moden one but at the moment i am sort of stuck with it.
I want to use it for processing telemetry from one of my radio controlled quadcopters but if it cannot cope with the incoming data then i am better off buying a new one.
many thanks in advance for any help given
regards Poppy Ann

This is the best one you can install:
Turion TL-66 (2.3 -GHz, 1-MB L2 cache)
Here is the Manual:
Manual
You would double the cache and go from 1.7 to 2.3 ghz which ought to be a very noticeable bump.
The processor is pretty inexpensive:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Turion-64-X2-TL-66-2-3-GHz-Dual-Core-TMDTL66HAX5DM-Processor-Socket-S1-/...
The dv6500 is a bit difficult to work on so be careful in there and follow the Manual closely. This youtube video will also help:

can iphone 5 preorder through iphone apple store app port numbers or only process upgrades? for example, can you setup a new line of service to an existing verizon account and port the ATT number over using the apple store app on iphone?

I have been waiting for a post like this.  Just ordered mine from AT&T and the tax is close to $52. At an 8% mark that also equals to $649.  I think they are charging full retail sales tax.  I called AT&T and they couldn't explain it to easily they started saying that there is an extra luxury tax but I think they don't know it's just full retail tax.  They also said that it's just a hold on my card by final charge will be processed when the phone gets shipped.
I checked fine print of sprint and AT&T. Ecause when you upgrade online with AT&T you don't pay tax but it states that it will be collected at the time it shipped. Sprint charges $24 which is almost half but also claims that there might be an extra tax when it shipped.
I am puzzled by the whole issue.  But 25 bucks won't get me not to order my phone.  I was able to get credit from my carrier because of the competition in the form of statement credits.  Ordered 2 phones and een after crazy high tax I got one for red plus some :). Tax is crazy anyone else order it an have this issue please share

  • 10g BPEL process upgrade to 11g hangs in Jdeveloper and Ant script

I have successfully upgraded several 10g (10.1.3.4) BPEL processes and ESB services using Jdeveloper 11g (11.1.1.6.0) migration wizard and deployed them to an 11g environment. Both 10g and 11g environments are up and running.
However, my 11g jdeveloper hangs when migrating the next BPEL process. It hangs at the message box with the title: "Migration Status". I tried the Ant script and it hangs too. It hangs after printing out:
    "CompositeRefs
[upgrade] WARNING: UPGBPEL-02009: No Binding setup for : "soapCheckPrivileges"
. This will cause compilation of the upgraded project to fail. Check SOA Upgrade
documentation on manual steps necessary to bind this composite reference. If ne
cessary, upgrade and deploy any dependencies. If planning to retain 1013x nodes
in this projects dependency tree, check earlier part of this log for 1013x WSDL
    URLs that can be used."
I guess it makes sense since Jdeveloper and Ant script use the same code base for migration.
One other observation is that if I kill the hanging jdeveloper process and reopen it and go through the migration wizard again, it will be successful without hanging. However, when I fix all the wsdl reference and do a build and deploy to sar. The resulting sar is defective and cannot be deployed to Weblogic even if both build and deploy to sar report success. The defective sar contains only scac.log and scac-log.xml, not even composite.xml.
One difference between this BPEL process and others I have successfully upgraded is that it depends on an ESB service (this esb service has been upgraded and deployed to 11g).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

I will answer my question. I killed the migrating Java process and the migrating wizard will report failure of migrating the .jpr file. Actually, the only thing missing in the migrated .jpr file is deployment profile which I can generate from deployment menu. And I can deploy the migrated process. This works as a workaround.

  • Hp Pavillon a6102.uk upgrade graphics card

    hi,
i have a Hp Pavillon a6102.uk. [email protected], memory 1.50GB.
I want to upgrade the graphics card so i am able to play games on the computer.  there is a intel(R) graphics media 82945g express chipset family installed. the game i'm playing says i need shader 2.0 or newer installed.
What graphics card should i go for? not looking for the most expensive card
Where would i get one of these cards? Amazon??
And what is the procedure to follow for changing the card?
    thanks

    Hi:
If you have a 250W or better P/S in your PC, I would go for this card.
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-GeForce-PCI-E-Profile-Bracket/dp/B0046Y4ONK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1350...
On a different US site, there are more details about the card and more reviews.
    http://216.52.208.185/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121397
This one will pep up your video.
The card should come with instructions for installing but here is what I do:
    1. Uninstall the current video driver by going to the control panel, under display adapters, right click on the Intel video adapter and select uninstall.  Then shut down (do not reboot) the PC.
    2. Unplug the PC and disconnect the monitor cable from your current adapter. Install your new video card, put the PC back together and plug the monitor cable into the new card's video port.  If you have a monitor with a DVI connection, I would buy a dvi cable and use that to connect the card to your monitor for the best video performance.
    3. Boot up the PC, it should recognize the card and then install the video drivers from the supplied driver disk.
    4. This card had an HDMI out port. If your onboard sound gets disabled after you install the card, do not be alarmed.  Just restart the PC after you install the drivers, hit the F10 key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to accesss the BIOS. Look for an onboard audio setting. It will either be set to Auto or Disabled.
Change the setting to Enabled. Save the setting there and again when you exit the BIOS.  Upon restart the onboard audio should be back.
    5.  Enjoy your new video card.
I have included a picture of the motherboard in your PC. The video card is installed in that long black slot above the 3 white ones running parallel to the bottom of the motherboard picture

  • [pavillon dv6 1200sl] Upgrade with SSD 256GB

    Hi all,
i have this notebook pavillon dv6 1200sl [ bit.ly/1b4DvNz ] from many year, now is the time to make an upgrade!
I'd like to change the HDD with a new SSD drive.. what kind of disc can I buy?
Any suggestion will be really apprecieted

I would not recommend an SSD you could not use. And the driver Manual shows step by step how to install a new hard drive. If the computer is running fine then, in Windows, use the HP Recovery Manager to burn restore DVDs and use them to reinstall software on the SSD when you get it. Go ahead and make the recovery DVD(s) and order the SSD and let us know when you are ready to proceed. If you have a storage disk I can also suggest making a Windows Easy Transfer Archive in order to transfer files and settings after you get Windows reinstalled on the SSD. It is also possible to do an exact disk clone to make the SSD work just like the existing drive, but that will take extra software and hardware.

  • HP dv6500 memory upgrade

    Hello,
I currently have 2GB (1GBx2) memory in my hp dv6500. I am looking to upgrade that to 4GB (2GBx2).
According to http://www.memorystock.com/memory/HewlettPackardPavilionDV6500.html, there are two possible options:
    The "2048MB-800MHz DDR2-800 PC2-6400, 200p SODIMM, 1.8v" (emphasis mine), and the "2048MB-667MHz DDR2-667 PC2-5300, 200p SODIMM, 1.8v"
I'm pretty sure that the memory I have now is 667MHz, and that is all that my current cpu will support. However, I am planning to upgrade my CPU to the T5900, which will support 800MHz. My question is, will I be able to use the 800MHz memory, or will i have to use 667MHz memory? I could not find any information about my motherboard...
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi:
I would get the 800 MHz memory, but it doesn't matter, as the mobile Intel 965 chipset in your notebook will only run the memory at 667 MHz regardless of the processors FSB speed.
A little known fact, but it is what it is.
The desktop version of the Intel 965 chipset does run the memory at 800 MHz.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-1280us Entertainment Notebook PC Processer Upgrade

i want to upgrade my AMD Turion X2 Mobile Processor into a Intel i7 processor, but I'm not sure if it is compatible with my notebook PC. Is there anyway to check compatibility? Or do anyone of you guys know if this would work without corrupting my computer?

    Hi,
You can't install an Intel processor in a Motherboard designed for an AMD processor - the sockets are physically different.  You may or may not be able to upgrade to a faster AMD processor, however changing the processor in a laptop is not an easy procedure.
    Hope this helps.
Best wishes and a happy new year,

  • Problem upgrading 7.x processes

I am trying to upgrade 7.x processes to livecycle ES.
Whenever I try to run the Process Upgrade Tool, it shows "No Upgrade definition known"
I am able to see the upgrade folder under workbench installation folder. I have also registered the mappings location as mentioned in the help document.
    Can anyone advise on this?
    Thanks,
    Nith

Yes, the files are there under upgrade/mappings folder.
I explain the task I did:
    1. Installed LiveCycle workbench ES with upgrade from 7.x option selected
    2. Executed Configuration Manager with upgrade from 7.x option selected
    3. Workbench->Windows->Preferences->Upgrade Tool -> (browse location) apply
    3. Imported a process created in LiveCycle 7.x
    4. Right click and selected "Upgrade to LiveCycle ES"
    5. Error at this time (no upgrade definition known)
One question: Do we need the livecycle 7.x in running state as well?
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Upgrade to Unlimited BT Infinity 1: post-order iss...

A little earlier I accepted an emailed BT offer to upgrade from the Infinity package I have with a monthly limit, to Unlimited BT Infinity 1. Went through the online process, upgrade was confirmed online and now I have two issues.
    (1)
The emailed offer clearly stated in one of the terms notes at the bottom (relevant extracts only):
... by invitation only to existing BT Infinity 1 customers signing up to the Unlimited Infinity 1 and Unlimited Weekend Calls package for 12 months. ... At the end of the minimum period of 12 months. ... You must stay on the Unlimited Infinity 1 and Unlimited Weekend Calls package for 12 months and you may not downgrade. ...
HOWEVER, the emailed order confirmation now received has this:
Your contract is for: 18 months. starting on 04 Mar 2013.
    Questions:
    (a) Why has the contract term I thought I was agreeing to increased from 12 months to 18 months, and who/where do I contact about it?
    (b) Why does the new contract term start from 4 March and not now?
    (2)
During the ordering process I had to set up a BT ID.
I'm not really sure why, as I already had one -- probably not called a BT ID at the time it was organised as I've had it for donkeys years, but it allows me to log in at BT's pages and see my billing, online usage and so on. Nevertheless and despite this, I "played ball" as there didn't seem to be an option for saying I already had one, or ignoring the step, so created this second ID with a new password, security question etc. Whether it will now replace the older one, or whether I'll now have two, I've no idea. But it said I would receive an email to activate it...
... which I did. Clicked the LINK from there and now in the middle of the activation process online, but really don't know what's going on as I'm being asked to choose a password and security question all over again. I've entered the same ones as I did during the ordering process, but don't know yet if this will be accepted or not, as I've hit a snag a bit further down -- this is what I need help with.
In the section for "Alternative ways of contacting you" there are two fields for a mobile phone number and an alternative email address (from my BT one), plus a radio button for "I don't have alternative contact details".
I don't have a mobile phone but do have an alternate email which I don't mind them having, and NEITHER of these fields was marked with a star meaning it was a required field (as most of the others were), so I filled in the email field and left the mobile one blank. But having completed the rest of the form I clicked to Continue and it won't let me! A red exclamation triangle's now come up against the mobile number box saying "Required field", presumably because I've left it blank. I tried putting in a dash, then n/a , but it won't have it ("Please enter a valid mobile number").
Aaaarrrghh! What do I do? All I can think of is to use the radio button to say I don't have any alternate contact details, but that's illogical when I do (the email addie): it could be helpful for them to have it if ever I can't access my BT mail for some reason.
So any ideas on that one too? Or again, who could I contact to get the ID activated, who could get round this mobile number requirement?
    Many thanks.

Thank you, will try the Chat option tomorrow (or rather, considering the time now, later today).
On looking again at the order confirmation it's odd, because that date of 4 March for the contract is there, as copied iin my original post, but I've only just realised it's 2013, not 2014! (and actually early March last year is about when I first changed to Infinity from an ordinary broadband package).
So there is still a contract date/length question, but it's now different! Is it 18 months from last March, or 12 months from now??? Very confusing.
Lower down last night's email are two further dates, although the word "contract" isn't included:
Your new calling plan starts on: 09 Jan 2014
Your broadband starts on: 09 Jan 2014
I'll also try with all the zeros for the mobile number as you suggest (was scratching my head about how I could check it, then the penny dropped... just ring it. Duh!!)
    Thanks again.

  • ASA 5520 upgrade from 8.4.6 to 9.1.2

    Dear All,
I am having ASA 5520 in Active Standby failover configuration . I want to know if I can upgrade it from 8.4.6 to 9.1.2 using the zero downtime upgrade process mentioned on cisco site .
    Below is the process :
    Upgrade an Active/Standby Failover Configuration
Complete these steps in order to upgrade two units in an       Active/Standby failover configuration:
Download the new software to both units, and specify the new image to           load with the boot system command.
Refer to           Upgrade           a Software Image and ASDM Image using CLI for more           information.
Reload the standby unit to boot the new image by entering the           failover           reload-standby command on the active unit as shown           below:
    active#failover reload-standby
When the standby unit has finished reloading and is in the Standby           Ready state, force the active unit to fail over to the standby unit by entering           the no           failover active command on the active unit.
    active#no failover active
Note: Use the show             failover command in order to verify that the standby unit             is in the Standby Ready state.
Reload the former active unit (now the new standby unit) by entering           the reload command:
    newstandby#reload
When the new standby unit has finished reloading and is in the           Standby Ready state, return the original active unit to active status by           entering the failover           active command:
    newstandby#failover active
This completes the process of upgrading an Active/Standby Failover       pair.
Also after upgrade are there any changes required after IOS migration ( i.e are there any changes in the command line of 8.4.6 and 9.1.2 )
It is mentioned on cisco site that
    Major Release
—You can upgrade from the last minor           release of the previous version to the next major release. For example, you can           upgrade from 7.9 to 8.0, assuming that 7.9 is the last minor version in the 7.x           release.

    Hi Tushar,
The steps you mentioned are perfectly fine. There is no major difference in the commands of the 2 versions, it's just that in access-rule from 9.1 you have to any4 instead of any for ipv4 and any6 for ipv6. During conversion it will get convert automatically.
Also, please refer to the following document (release notes of 9.1.2) for viewing the new features added in that version:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa91/release/notes/asarn91.html#wp685480

Wifi problems since 10.5.8 Update. Even after Snow Leopard Upgrade.
Is there any way to use a 10.5.7 wireless .kext files on Snow Leopard? And where can I find the files?

Ok, I have the fix!! After several frustrating days it finally just works.
    The process:
Upgrade your Macs to 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Powercycle your modem AND time capsule / airport TWICE
Reset your time capsule with a pin or paperclip on the back
Follow the prompts to setup your time capsule / airport access
    -- On your Macs
    Go to System Preferences > Network > Airport > Advanced > TCP/IP
Click "Renew DHCP Lease" then click "Ok"
    Click Apply
    Turn off Airport
    Turn Airport on
    IT WORKS!!!
One of the magical people at tech support walked me through it earlier today. The whole process took about 1.5 hrs because Show Leopard takes about an hour to install on one machine.

  • Iphoto 9.1.5 upgrade problem on July 12 2011 on iMac running Snow Leopard

2nd user (My wife) on my iMac, following the upgrade today, when opening iphoto gave an error message of "Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable.  Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again.  If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library.  To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen. it while keeping the option and Command keys pressed.  You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup" .
I followed these instructions and eventually selected the "repair" option, which was the first option.  This process "Upgrading Library: Scanning Library" has now been running for 2 hours and I'm concerned that it will not succeed.
Secondly, since applying the complete upgrade to the ilife programs today, my network changed itself somehow from the network I had set up on my Time Capsule, to the network provided by my ISP.  How?  It had not been modified by myself and in fact a Time Machine backup to my Time Capsule was actioned successfully approx. 1 hour before the update was downloaded, via my Time Capsule Network and applied.  Nothing had been changed.
This upgrade has concerned me.  I've not experienced anything like this before with previous upgrades.

I ran into the same problem.  Installed 9.1.5 and BAM! - iPhoto wouldn't launch - got the "Your photo libary is either in use ..." error.  I did the normal stuff - restored 9.1.3 from my backup.  No dice.  Deleted iPhoto and reinstalled from origial media, then upgraded to 9.1.3.  No dice.  Reverted my iPhoto library to pre-9.1.5 date.  No dice.
So, I do a little digging.  I created a new library and that worked fine.  So, there's something wrong with my old library.  I showed the contents of the old library and the new one.  I looked at the files that were being modified at the time the library was opened.  There is a file called iPhotoLock.data.  Hmm.  I wonder ...
So, I deleted that file from the contents of the library (copied it to another location), opened iPhoto with the option key held down, selected my old library and it opened right up.
Short story is, the iPhotoLock.data file was corrupted somehow, so by deleting it and letting iPhoto create a new one, I was able to get all my stuff back.  Didn't have to use the library manager or anything that extreme.
I've seen a number of posts like this one and never saw an answer that was acceptable.  The only posts with an "answer" were to use the library manager to build a new library from the old one.  I loose things that way (books, etc.) and that wasn't acceptable.  I thought I'd post this so maybe others can try it and see if it works for them.
The explanation of how to do this is simple.  Open the folder where your library resides, control-click the iPhoto library and select "show contents".  You'll see the iPhotoLock.data file.  Delete it.  Close the window that opened when you selected "show contents".  Run iPhoto again and, if it works like mine did, your life will be back and visible again.
    Hope this helps.

The /etc/oraInst.loc points to DEV area and the inventory.xml in that directory does not have any reference to PROD. Also, we were using this DEV instance after cloning from PROD for quite a few weeks before starting our Patching upgrade.

  • Windows 7 Upgrade Option Program

Alright, I did all this and faxed my proof of purchase to the given fax number, and I haven't received a reply yet.
And as part of the e-mail from before,
"We will send you an email when we have confirmed your eligibility via your proof of purchase. We will send you another email notification once we ship your order. We will also post updates on our Windows 7 website in regards to the availability date of the upgrade kit
    at link removed."
I haven't received this e-mail, anyone know when I might get it?
    Thanks.
    This question was solved.

I just discovered today that my upgrade kit may take up to 60 days to arrive. After fulfilling the various requirements in order to obtain this upgrade, I must say that the prospect of having to wait that long is disappointing. I don't recall seeing any of this information displayed on the free upgrade signs attached to every PC in the store where I purchased my laptop in early September. Nor did I realize I'd be dealing with a third party fulfillment house- the sort of organization that tech companies often use to process mail-in rebates that usually make a customer wait three months to get $20 back (I once waited more than four months to get $10 back).
The fact that Christmas might be nearly upon us and I could still be waiting to receive my upgrade is stunning. I suppose HP and the various other PC makers view these wait times as acceptable- their customers, however, might not share that opinion. I certainly don't. It's 2009 folks- manufacturers have had months, if not years, to prepare for this rollout. The pleasant woman I spoke to from the fulfillment house told me they've been processing upgrade orders since the end of June. If that is indeed true, how is it that I could still end up waiting 2 months to receive mine when this operation has been underway for four months? Did they not know they'd be busier after October 22?  Where was the planning and preparation?
Given the size and scope of the Windows 7 launch, one would assume (perhaps incorrectly), that enough resources would be allocated in order to ensure that customers eligible to receive the upgrade would receive their package in a reasonable amount of time (2-3 weeks). Stretching the window to 60 days is inexcusable, and leads me to believe that by passing the responsibility to a third party, the manufacturers have essentially said, "don't ask us, it's not our responsibility." I'm sure that once the deal was signed the manufacturers haven't spent a day thinking about it, even though thousands of their customers, like me, have been consigned to this ridiculous process.
I guess the old saying is true- once you hand over your money, you're on your own.
I look forward to spending my Christmas holidays installing and configuring Windows 7.
