  • HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION in insert mode - duplicate records

    Hi,
    I'm using athe above function to insert a record into IT0015 (Additional Payments) i.e. Operational Mode is 'INS'
    but when I have a record already in the system for the date specified it is just inserting a new record - is there a parameter I can pass into the function that will just update the record rather than creating a new one?
    I know I can check prior to the operation via function 'HR_READ_INFOTYPE' if a record exists and then change the operational mode to 'MOD' before I call 'HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION - is this the only way or can the HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION handle this step.

  • Link Parameters from Report to Form in Insert Mode

    It seems like it should be possible to use the Report wizard to add a link to a form, select some link parameters using the Edit Link function, and then when one clicks on the link it would open the form in insert mode with the link parameters filled in as defaults. Instead what happens is it tries to open the form in update mode with a row that matches the link parameters, and if it can't find a match it opens in insert mode with no parameters filled in. I want it to always open in insert mode and with the passed parameters filled in.
    I've looked through all the documentation I have access to and have been through all the Portal FAQ's on OTN and can find nothing on this. There were a few questions in the FAQ's that told how to do it in PL/SQL, but I don't know how to get access to which instance of the link was selected by the user through PL/SQL, and it seems like there should be a way to do this from within the report wizard.
    Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Jim Bladen

    If your report is created using ‘Reports From SQL Query’ then you can modify it using the following to achieve this:
    1. Remove the link from ‘Column Formatting’ section of the report object.
    2. In the SQL of the report , use custom link to the column where you want to provide link using the syntax
    select a.empno,’‘||a.ename||’‘ ename_link,a.deptno
    from scott.emp a
    Order by a.empno
    and the form will always open in ‘INSERT’ mode with passed values filled in.

  • How to add enter-in-insert mode without post-generation steps

    Hello,
    We'd like to enter one of our pages in insert mode.
    We found the trick how to do it, there is one step which is a post JHeadstart generation step (add code to Page Definition). I'd like to know if we can avoid this post-generation step
    Here the complete list of steps
    (1) Model project, set View Object, Tuning to 'No Rows'
    (2) ViewController Project
    2.1 JHeadstart settings for the page
    - Single-row insert allowed Yes
    - Single-row update allowed Yes
    - SHow New Rows at Top Yes
    2.2 Generate the JHeadstart application
    2.3. Go to the Page which you'd like to enter in insert mode and click on 'Go to Page Definition'
    Add in the <executable> part the following code
    <invokeAction Binds="CreateAanmakenAdminEenheden" id="invokeCreate" Refresh="renderModel"
    RefreshCondition="${!adfFacesContext.postback and empty
    bindings.exceptionsList}"/>
    (see also http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/B25947_01/web_form006.htm for more information)
    Make sure that the Binds part has the sam name as the <action id='Create...' which is available in the bottom part of the page definition.
    My question is
    How can we avoid this last post-generation step, the addition of code to the Page Definition file.
    I know you can unclick the 'Generate Page Definition' property in JHeadstart, but that introduces a risk that functionality is not included after changing the page.
    Regards Leon
    By the way, this is a lot of of work, just for entering a page in directly in insert mode. I think there can be made some improvement in ADF to accomodate this (a lot wanted) functionality.....

    Navid,
    You need to create custom templates to achieve this. The easiest way to get everything in place, is to first generate the group as insert-only (without search and query).
    This will generate the following:
    - in the page definition the ControllerClass property will be set to a JSF EL expression, something like #{EmpWizardPageLifecycle}
    - in the group beans config file, two beans are generated like this:
    <managed-bean>
    <managed-bean-name>EmpWizardPageLifecycle</managed-bean-name>
    <managed-bean-class>oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.lifecycle.JhsPageLifecycle</managed-bean-class>
    <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
    <managed-property>
    <property-name>beforePrepareRenderMethods</property-name>
    <list-entries>
    <value-class>oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.bean.InvokeMethodBean</value-class>
    <value>#{CreateEmpWizardMethod}</value>
    </list-entries>
    </managed-property>
    <managed-property>
    <property-name>validateADFModel</property-name>
    <value>false</value>
    </managed-property>
    </managed-bean>
    <managed-bean>
    <managed-bean-name>CreateEmpWizardMethod</managed-bean-name>
    <managed-bean-class>oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.bean.InvokeMethodBean</managed-bean-class>
    <managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
    <managed-property>
    <property-name>methodBinding</property-name>
    <!-- we leave out the JSF EL brackets, to prevent premature evaluation of the expression -->
    <value>bindings.CreateEmpWizard.execute</value>
    </managed-property>
    <managed-property>
    <property-name>executeCondition</property-name>
    <!-- we leave out the JSF EL brackets, to prevent premature evaluation of the expression -->
    <value>jsfNavigationOutcome=='StartEmpWizard' or param.StartEmpWizard=='true'</value>
    </managed-property>
    </managed-bean>
    The executeCondition does the trick here: it causes the page to start in insert mode when the navigation outcome is 'StartEmpWizar' or there is a request param named StartEmpWizard with value true.
    So, to get this functionality in a normal queryable group, you need to create a custom template for the groupFacesConfig.vm and add the two bean defs as above. And to get the ControllerClass property generated correctly, you can use the advanced group-level property Page Lifecycle class and set this to #{EmpWizardPageLifecycle}.
    (and replace EmpWizard with your own group name)

    JHeadstart Team.

  • Want to hide button in a form if it is in insert mode

    Dear Sir,
    i am just developing some portal database provider forms and reports, i am calling a from
    from one report using , and i just want to hide some button ex: save button in
    the form and display the update button only when i call that form in the query
    mode from the form using 3_d parameter , as both save and update buttons are
    displayed when i call in any mode which i do not want
    scenario :
    1- create a portal db provider report using sql query on some table ex: employees table
    2- include a link in that report to a form created on the same table ex: employees
    with passing of parameter emp_no
    ex: ''||emp_no||''
    3- if the call in the query mode using 3d parameter (&p_arg_names=_emp_no_cond&p_arg_values=%3D) using note 248297.1,
    when clicking on the link in the report on the emp_no the form appears with the
    emp information displayed on the form and both ( save and update ) buttons
    appearing
    all that is working fine
    is it possible to display the update button only without the save button on the form when this call in the query
    mode happens???
    note : i want the save button to be displayed only without the update button if i am running the form in the insert mode ( directly not from
    report call)
    please help ASAP. as it is urgent need
    best regards
    Ahmed Hussein

    Usually, when you use a url like the example below to go to a portal form, the record will be queried up in the form, the Insert (Save) button will be hidden, and only the Update and Reset buttons will be shown. If you follow a url to the form without the "&p_arg_names=_EMPNO_COND&p_arg_values=%3D" in the url, it brings up the form in Insert mode with the Insert (Save), Query, and Reset buttons being shown and the Update button hidden.
    To troubleshoot, double-check the URL in your report to make sure it is passing all the parameters with the correct p_arg_values for moduleid and COLUMNNAME (e.g. EMPNO). Here's an example:
    http://your.portal.com/portal/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=012346789&p_arg_names=COLUMN_NAME&p_arg_values=123&p_arg_names=_COLUMN_NAME_COND&p_arg_values=%3D

  • How To: Use ADF Form in "Insert" Mode in jDeveloper 12c

    Hi all,
    I'm in the process of learning jDeveloper and after going through the basics, a task that I'm trying to accomplish is to have a ADF Form load in "Insert" mode rather than the default "Update" behavior. After significant searches, the closest that I could come to was Create-adf-input-form post. But since that tutorial is based on the 11g version, I'm struggling to find an equivalent of that in 12c.
    Can anyone point me in the right directly and help me in determining how I would achieve the same in 12c?
    Thanks,
    Nisar

    Nisar,
    If you want the newRow to be readily available when the page loads, you call vo.createRow() in a AM method and expose that method as a client interface. Call this method on the page load.
    The below links might help to call method on page load:
    Johny's Tips: ADF: How to execute the ViewObject with a ViewCriteria on the PageLoad in ADF Web Application
    https://blogs.oracle.com/aramamoo/entry/an_epic_question_how_to
    This link helps to know how to create VO row programatically.
    http://www.awasthiashish.com/2012/12/insert-new-row-in-adf-viewobject.html
    Let us know if you face any issue while implementing.
    Cheers

  • Update/Insert mode couldn't apply to SQL Server source via Transparent Gateway.

    Hi all,
    OWB version is 9.0.2.56,database version is 9i Release 2.
    When set load type to "Insert",mapping works fine from SQL Server to Oracle table,via Transparent Gateway 901.
    But "Update/Insert" always runs error with "Fatal error or maximum number of errors exceeded".while I define both source and destination table to oracle tables in mapping,"Update/Insert" works file.
    Any suggestion?

    Hi Ignor,
    Thanks for your reply!
    The SQL Server version is SQL Server 2000.
    I just want to ETL data from a SQL Server table via Transparent gateway into oracle table,the source table has a increment seq field,so I want to define mapping using update/insert loading method in OWB,according to this seq field,if there is the same seq in the target table,do update,if not,insert the row.I just find out that if I use a middle table in oracle to do truncate/insert mode from SQL Server source table,then do update/insert mode from the middle one to target table,it works.But can't do directly from source to target using update/insert mode.Does this means update/insert mode only apply to mapping from local table to local table?
    Regards,
    Robbin

  • Using delete/insert mode operator target in mapping

    Hello Guys,
    Can you help me please to resolve my problem. It's very urgent.
    I use OWB 10gR2 and I create a mapping for loading data from table to table.
    I got a source table A that I want to integrate into a table B.
    I want to put my target table B on delete/insert mode to delete data from B where A.annee = B.annee
    before inserting data from A.
    How to configure this mapping.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.
    fanfita.

    you dont have to do anything in particular:
    on the target table propperties click on the load type as Delete/Insert and specify the column which you need to check while deleting this can be done by clicking on the column of target table in your mapping and setting the properties such as "load while insert/delete/update etc" , you got to check the delete option of the columns that you want to check while deleting.
    If your target table has sequence then delete and insert will generate new sequence id and i am not sure if there is a Foregin key which needs to be considered here so it might be a better option to use update/insert
    if there are no dependencies at all then you can go for delete/insert option.

  • Starting Gvim in insert mode

    Hi, I was just wondering if it was possible to start Gvim (or even vim for that matter) in insert mode. And no, I'm not talking about evim, I want to start as if I had opened Gvim and pressed "i". If this is even possible I would be grateful for any help. Thanks in advance!

    It'll work if you put it in .gvimrc as well.  Or, better yet, just create a symlink to .vimrc:
    ln -s ~/.vimrc ~/.gvimrc
    hhmmm... didn't seem to work when I use gvim. It still acts as though I'm running evim.

  • Opening Form in Insert mode but making a query at the same time

    My problem is that I want to open a Portal Form in Insert mode but at the same time making a query.
    If I call a form with patameters the form opens automatically in update mode (to be more precise with FORMSTATE = UPDATE_AND INSERT). In that case the insert button is not shown.
    I have come very close to a solution by running this code:
    BEGIN
    p_session.set_value(
    p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
    p_attribute_name => '_FORM_STATE',
    p_value => 'QUERY_AND_INSERT');
    END;
    under "... before processing the form". The form-state changes to QUERY_AND_INSERT' and I get the record from the table that I want but I still see no insert button!
    I think that I can solve this problem in some table-triggers in the database but it would be interesting to know weather it is possible to do this in the portal.

    Kari,
    You can workaround the disappearing Insert button by creating a custom button instead.
    If you look at the "standard" Insert button code it looks like this:
    --- Type your PL/SQL code here...
    doInsert;--- This is the default handler
    --- ...and here, thanks...
    in the generated forms package doInsert just calls internal insert handler:
    procedure doINSERT
    is
    begin
    onINSERT(
    p_block_name => p_block_name ,
    p_object_name => p_object_name,
    p_instance => p_instance ,
    p_event_type => p_event_type ,
    p_user_args => p_user_args ,
    p_session => p_session);
    end doINSERT;
    If you add a custom button to your form and from PLSQL event combobox select "Custom", then copy&paste this code to the event code:
    onINSERT(
    p_block_name => p_block_name ,
    p_object_name => p_object_name,
    p_instance => p_instance ,
    p_event_type => p_event_type ,
    p_user_args => p_user_args ,
    p_session => p_session);
    You will get a custom button which does exactly what the Insert button does and it will not disappear from the screen.
    Thanks,
    Dmitry

  • Urxvt + vim arrow keys in insert mode problem

    There's this annoying problem I've been experiencing for a while now that I haven't been able to fix.
    I'm running urxvt-unicode-256color as my terminal emulator. When I'm using vim in insert mode, accidentally hitting the arrow keys inserts A B C D or into the file. I don't use the arrows keys, but accidentally hitting them can get really annoying. I've read all sorts of ways to resolve this and none of the seem to work. The only way I was able to get around this was to set $TERM to be xterm, but that seems like a weird fix for this.
    Is there another way of solving this?

    Map the keys in vim to something useful or to nothing at all.
    BTW, I have the same setup and my cursor keys result in movement like hjkl, so:
    - check if you're using vim and not vi,
    - change your settings in .vimrc.
    I've already mapped the keys to do nothing. But it doesn't seem to work. I'm using map and imap, I've also use set t_ku, etc.
    How do I check if I'm using vim as opposed to vi? I've already installed the vim package.
    I have set nocompatible in my .vimrc but it doesn't seem to do anything.
    Mr.Elendig wrote:set your TERM to rxvt-256color, make sure vim is not in compatible mode (and that you are actually using vim and not vi)
    My term vairable is already set to rxvt-unicode.
    Set it to 'rxvt-256color'

  • Stuck in INSERT MODE

    Does anyone know how to get my Mac out of "Insert" mode when I am in Word? If I go back into text to change something - the computer deletes as I type. There isn't an "Insert" key, so I have no idea how I got into this. So frustrating...

    I assume you are using Office '08 for Mac. One solution is to go to "help" and type "insert." A drop down menu comes up. Go down to "Insert column < left." The verbiage might be slightly different. This works for me. However, there must be an easier answer from the experts.
