HR Queries package

Hi all,
I downloaded HR Queries 50.2 business package and imported into EP6.
I have created a system in EP called SAP_BW inorder to access BW data. Are there any more steps that I'm need to do inorder to view iviews?
Moreover is there any installation guide for this package?
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Shiva.

yes...then you can follow the configuration of NWDI(Netweaver Developer Infrastructure).
by the way , I think you mean NWDS(Netweaver Developer Studio) by the name nds...
Once this NWDI is configured and the parameteres entered in the J2EE engine details in teh NWDS too, you would be able to upload teh business package to NWDS and see the webdyn pro or other already available applications. and can customize the components in teh pacakge as well...
I have a guide on how to configure NWDI. Let me check for your mail ID and I will send it across to you. If not found, send a blank mail to
[email protected]   I will reply to that with NWDI configuration.
In the middle of the Configuration, you will create a track and upload the package to this and then this would be avilable for customization in NWDS.
Your e-mail not found in the business card, send a mail to me, then I will respond with teh files.

  • Find object Names in a file and print all those objects Names

    Hi All,
    I am new to this forum.
    I want to know how to read only objects names in txt file. In the text file i have sql queries, package names, Function Name. I need to read all the objects and display out put. The file contains around 20000 Lines.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks & Regards
    Suresh.

    want to read .rex File. The file contains combination of SQL code with table Names, Packages,Functions,There are three basic ways to read an external file.
    You can use UTL_FILE and use standard/basic file I/O calls like fread() and fwrite() - common amongst most (if not all) programming languages.
    You can define an external table for the file, and SQL*Load the contents of the file dynamically via a SQL SELECT statement.
    You can load the file into a CLOB using DBMS_LOB and then process it - quite useful if the text file is XML as the XMLTYPE supports parsing a a CLOB containing XML.
    I want to pick Each object name put in a separate file line by line.That in turn will need to use UTL_FILE to create an external file.
    Keep in mind though that your in a database environment with PL/SQL. The very best place for data is inside the database in SQL tables. Not outside as external files. Thus you need to ask yourself whether dealing this way with external files is the best solution, and a robust and scalable one.
    Granted, many times from the database side we need to deal with external files. The optimal method usually is to load that file's data into a database table as structured data - data that can be accessed via SQL and sorted, filtered, aggregated and analysed.
    To provide a "file" as output - this should ideally be done directly from structured data (SQL tables). And can be done using HTTP (via a web enabled PL/SQL procedure that supplies the file content as a http Mime stream), using FTP (via <i>UTL_TCP</i>) or as a CLOB via a PL/SQL call interface. Using UTL_FILE is not necessarily the only option.

  • Asking for package while saving created queries in BEx

    Hi All,
    While I am trying to create and save the queries in the development system,it asking for the package name.this problem is not coming before but today only.
    Upto my knowledge,it should ask for the package only when you change the existing queries which are already transported...
    Could you suggest me how to fix this...this is urgent..

  • SQL Queries don’t recognize Package member variables.

    Hi,
    I have a package defined like this:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE PROD.PKG_BSYS_COMMON
    AS
    MAX_RETURN_ROWS NUMBER(6) :=1000;
    END PKG_BSYS_COMMON;
    The problem is that I cannot use MAX_RETURN_ROWS in my SQL queries:
    SELECT
    FROM
    CLIENT
    WHERE
    ROWNUM < PROD.PKG_BSYS_COMMON.MAX_RETURN_ROWS
    Is there any way to use that package member variable in my queries?
    This is a simplified explanation of our problem and it is very important for our business to avoid hardcoding constants in queries and define all of them in a central location. Is there a better way doing this?
    Any help would be appreciated,
    Alan

    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE PKG_BSYS_COMMON
    AS
    function max_return_rows return number ;
    END PKG_BSYS_COMMON;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE body PKG_BSYS_COMMON  as
    function max_return_rows return number is
    begin
    return(1000);

  • Searching for AUR packages with "%" queries

    According to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR#Searching it is possible to use mysql LIKE queries to search for a package.  But I can't find packages if I use queries with "%".
    For example, when I try to search for firefox%spell or firefox%spell%, I get nothing.
    I expected those queries would return the same results as firefox-spell.
    The question is: do LIKE queries work (or do I use them wrong)?

  • Package Search page: treatment of platform queries

    Would be great, I think, if we could have the option to search for a specific platform with the "any" platform inclusive. It's not a biggie, but would reduce the number of queries. Currently we can't have both on the same query, but often that is what what we are looking for.
    Last edited by marfig (2010-08-25 22:02:21)

    +1 but I think it may not be worth the trouble.
    You want to search for package 'foo' NOT on platform xyz e.g. not on i686.
    You can search on all platforms and than sort by Arch rather that repo - it helps somewhat.

    Hey
    I was told that I can (through Java code) read all the registered DSNs and that way basically modify my application to populate it with a list of databases in the system and then when the user clicks on a database, the program would function as before...i.e. read the list of tables with it..yadda yadda yadda
    Can anyone guide me on how to do that? read a list of DSNs in the system etc

    9I STATSPACK PACKAGE를 이용하여 생성된 성능보고서 분석 예제
    ==========================================
    PURPOSE
    이 문서는 9i 데이타베이스 운영 중 전반적인 System performance
    저하를 경험할 경우 StatsPack Package를 이용하여 성능관련 문제
    분석에 활용하는 방법을 예제를 통해 알아보기로 한다.
    Explanation
    <Bulletin:17118>에는 statspack.snap 프로시져를 수행하여 snapshot을
    생성하는 데 있어 통계정보 수집 방법에 대하여 자세히 소개되어 있다.
    <Bulletin:17119>에는 spreport.sql 수행을 통한 STATSPACK 성능 보고서
    생성 방법과 생성되는 report의 내용을 요약적으로 볼 수 있다.
    이 문서는 STATSPACK utility에 의해 생성되는 이 output(성능보고서)을
    이해하고 진단하는 데 도움을 줄 만한 내용을 알아본다.
    데이타베이스 performance tuning은 아주 광범위한 분야이므로,
    아 자료는 몇 가지 특정 tuning point에 대해서만 촛점을 맞추어 알아본다.

    모든 statspack report는 instance efficiency를 결정하는 데 도움이 될
    만한 인스턴스 metric들과 인스턴스의 workload profile을 보여주는 것으로
    시작한다.
    Oracle 9i에서 Std Block size는 인스턴스의 primary block size를 나타낸다.

    Redo size: This is the amount of redo generated during this report.
    Logical Reads: This is calculated as Consistent Gets + DB Block Gets = Logical Reads
    Block changes: The number of blocks modified during the sample interval
    Physical Reads: The number of requests for a block that caused a physical I/O.
    Physical Writes: The number of physical writes issued.
    User Calls: The number of queries generated
    Parses: Total of all parses: both hard and soft
    Hard Parses: Those parses requiring a completely new parse of the
    SQL statement. These consume both latches and shared pool area.
    Soft Parses: Not listed but derived by subtracting the hard parses
    from parses. A soft parse reuses a previous hard parse
    and hence consumes far fewer resources.

    예를 들어 V$SQL 뷰에서 한 SQL 이 몇번 execute 되었는지는
    v$sqlarea.executions 로 확인 가능하다.

  • Setting/using a variable in a package in SQL Developer

    The 10g db I'm working with has a package that contains a variable and routines to set and get the value of the variable. The variable is used in a number of views to tailor data displayed according to the variable value. This all works well in applications, which set the variable after a connection is opened and then issue queries against the views, and then close the connection.
    This also works well in Toad - I can open Toad, run a package routine to set the value and then open views (or run queries against views) in Toad to see how different variable values effect the data displayed. The package variable maintains its value so long as Toad is open, which seems to imply that Toad keeps a connection open.
    But I can't use SQL Developer in the same way. I can run the SET routine, but it has no effect in on views subsequently run. When running the SET routine, setting the value to 1, the output is:
    Connecting to the database HERC DB.
    Process exited.
    Disconnecting from the database HERC DB.
    I can then run the GET routine, but the value of the variable is always zero:
    Connecting to the database HERC DB.
    v_Return = 0
    Process exited.
    Disconnecting from the database HERC DB.
    The implication seems to be that a connection is made, the routine is run and then the connection is closed. The closing of the connection resets the variable. Is there some way I can have SQL Developer behave like Toad, such that the package variable value is maintained for my SQL Developer session? I've looked at connection roperties and application preferences, but I've not seen anything that seems to be related keeping a connection open.
    BTW, I have tried the "connection startup script", but to no avail. Perhaps I've doen this improperly; the script simply attempts to invoke the package set routine, like so: myPkg.set_identity(1)
    Thanks.

    When running stored PL/SQL through the IDE context node or editor, indeed a new session is opened and consequently closed on completion after committing. Although great for having the IDE free to continue working, it does have its drawbacks when you want variables to persist and changes to be visible in the IDE before committing.
    To prevent the new session and the commit, just call the PL/SQL from a worksheet (in a call, query or anonymous block).
    The startup script should work in that respect, but make sure to wrap your call in an anonymous block, else you'll get a syntax error.
    Hope that helps,
    K.

    Do you have any Date conversion functions in your Oracle datetime fields? I did run into a similar issue when we upgraded the oracle client and the provider started to decipher the metadata of the date columns. The SSIS metadata conversion for the date
    columns yielded dates that were not valid. I had to update my queries to use the TO_CHAR conversion to bring it out as a string and then save it to the date field.
    TO_CHAR (DATE, 'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS')

  • How to check error whilce creating a package

    Hi,
    I am getting an error while creating a package, individually query is running ok but in package it is showing an error. is there any way to check the error. I am using in TOAD Quest Scriptrunner

    What kind of error you got? A syntactical one or a logical one? Your schema should have following rights to debug package:
    GRANT DEBUG CONNECT SESSION,
    DEBUG ANY PROCEDURE TO <Your_Schema><i>

  • Unable to create queries on portal

    Hi,
    We have implemented Buyer business package on portal and all the ABAP views are coming up fine. For the POWL views like "My Vendors", My Materials" there is an option to create a new query and then view the results in the table based on the query.
    Now this step of creating query is coming up for a particular user. But for certain users the view shows message "No active queries" and there is no option to even create a new query.
    Please let me know what authorization do I need to give in ECC so that they can get this option of creating new queries.

  • OSB to SOA suite package not forming correctly

    Setup is as follows:
    AIX 5.3 on the box, 10 gigs ram, installation of the latest releases of OSB and SOA suite on top of weblogic. I've built out a couple of simple database queries in BPEL based off wsdls, dropped them on to the SOA suite server, used EM to open a test console and plugged in some search data. Search returns successfully.
    I then open up OSB's console, create a business service to the endpoint on the soa server, and a proxy based off the same wsdl used in the BPEL construction which I then route to the business service. Both service and proxy are made with basic http for the protocol (not sure how to use the sb protocol, and not sure if that will fix the problem). Load the test console on the proxy service, which displays an xml form similar to what is used in the SOA suite. Fill out the same information, but the invoke returns BEA-380000. Following the invocation trace in OSB everything looks good in terms of package content.
    Wondering if it might simply be a problem with how the OSB interprets XML from a wsdl, I piped the XML from the SOA suite into the OSB's xml field, but to no luck, same error. After some more testing and frustration,I put the SOA suite XML straight in to the form field in the OSB test console, and it worked. However, the package itself seems oddly formed, consisting of:
    <soapenv:Envelope      xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
         <soap:Header      xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
         </soap:Header>
         <soapenv:Body>
         <soap:Envelope      xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
         <soap:Header/>
    Which I've been told is basically double wrapping the package, which shouldn't work, and more importantly wont be generated when someone uses say SOAPUI to access our service on the OSB.
    Now, on the SOA suite side of things. In EM console, I navigate to my BPEL process and can see the faults caused by the OSB. The same faults are also generated when binding to the OSB's endpoint with SOAPUI, but not when going directly to the SOA suite's endpoint. The error is the following:
    oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.soap.SOAPVersionMismatchException: Mime Header Content-Type: text/xml requires SOAP envelope namespace: http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/: Mime Header Content-Type: text/xml requires SOAP envelope namespace: http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/
    And the payload sent shows as empty.
    So to my best uneducated guess, it looks like the OSB wraps the payload in an envelope, and then unwraps it before handing it to the SOA suite, which expects the payload to be wrapped. Sadly, I'm still pretty new to the wsdl/webservice/oracle world, so I'm not even sure if that's an accurate representation. Any insight on what might be happening or how to get OSB to talk with SOA suite correctly would be greatly appreciated. Included below are the XML payloads I've used (minus a bit for confidentiality reasons). Apologies if the formatting doesn't work so nice for it.

    Problem solved. When I originally created my business service inside of OSB, I created it based off an endpoint provided by the SOA server. Instead, I went and did a mass import from a url, pointed it at the SOA server wsdl, and then built the web service off of that wsdl resource in the OSB. Now it works like a charm.
