HT1338 AUTOMATIC UPDATE OF MOTION...ONLY APP NOT THERE!!

I am on automatic update and received a notification that an update od Motion had been installed overnight. I had been in the mddle of a large Motion project....
Anyway, I clicked on my dashboard icon for the app and nothing happened. Looked in Appplications with Finder and no app. Checked with Launchpad...no Motion. Rebooted. No app and no more icon on dashboard, only ?. Has anyone else had this problem. How do you get an immediate reinstall?

Actually, The App Store did not give me the option of re-downloading/re-installing. I called support and it turtned out the original download was to an external drive and was not being recognized because the Mac was looking to the boot drive. Not a problem in the past, but obviously one now.

Selection "Automatically update selected podcasts only" disabled in iTunes

I would like to manually select the podcasts updated to my iPod Mini. For some reason the option "Automatically update selected podcasts only" is not available in my iTunes 6.0.4. The option is disabled/grayed and the list of podcasts below it is empty.

The Podcasts tab in iPod preferences only applies to podcasts you've downloaded via iTunes. Podcasts in your library are considered music even when the Genre is set to "Podcast".
To automatically transfer those files to you iPod, create a (smart) playlist with just the podcasts and choose "Automatically update selected playlists only" from the Music tab in iPod preferences.

I recently updated to Yosemite and now I am having problems with the above mentioned apps, not opening at all.
I am unable to check to which version its update to, or even update to next version.

You ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanse" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below. If you use any iWork applications, you may need to delete them and redownload them from the App Store.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon, usually with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.10 ("Yosemite"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

HT1338 The update of my computer does not work!

I come to the end where it says that everything is now ready and I just need to restart it.
When I restart it, nothing happens and now I have tried to update the software like 10 times and it is the same all the time.
I need help!

1. I got a note that there is a software update on my computer that needs to be done. I also want the latest Itunes because I wan't to update my Iphone also.
2. I press Okay and it starts searching for updates, I then get a note there it says everything is now installed all you have to do is to restart your computer. I press the restart button and it restarts it. But when I go in to Itunes and check the software info it is not changed.
3. I have repeated this step many times but it is exactly the same.
I have a white macbook - and Mac OS X 10.6.8 (I think that is the thing you mean with current Operating system or can you explain?)

I've updated my Macbook Pro and my iMac with Maverick, updating the various apps. On my Macbook, everything functions perfectly. On my iMac, I get the Your System has Run out of Application Memory, and it's based our Mail, the only app not updated. Ideas?

I open Safari, and it works. I open Firefox, and it works and Safari still works. I open Calendar and it works, Safari and Firefox continue to work. I open Reminders, and everything still works.
I open Aperture, and it opens Finder instead, showing the 3.5 update that was installed two days ago (and Aperture has functioned), but doesn't seem to update the app; after about 20 seconds the update disappears and I can now open Aperture and it shows I'm now opening the updated Aperture, which it didn't show before.
I click on Mail, and the cursor spins for ten minutes. The mail window finally opens, but the cursor spins and does not connect to upload new mail, and I finally Force Quit Mail. Since the Maverick update, even though Mail was not updated (and maybe because Mail was not updated), I have been able to receive emails twice, and then the program crashed.
Besides the Aperture app, Pages didn't fully update on the iMac, and I had to remove the old Pages icon from the dock after the new program loaded up from Applications.
Any ideas?

Lost all my paid apps after updating to iOS4! Apps not in backup!!!

I just updated my iPod touch (3 gen) from some OS 3.xxx to iOS4. After 1-2 hours, I got an error message saying that the backup failed. I looked on my iPod touch and saw that all of my apps were deleted except 4 random ones. Thinking that my apps were safe in my backup, I checked in iTunes. My free apps were still there but my 2 paid apps were gone! They were Doodle Jump and Ninja Fruit. Although it's only $2 dollars - I lost my money! Will Apple give my 2 paid apps or money back? I had all my updates done so my apps were iOS4 OK.
One little note. My iPod touch was jailbroken which makes me worried. All I got from Cydia was Pokemon and Themes. Did this contribute to the problem? Yet, a lot of people jailbreak and don't have a problem. But, I am certain that I paid for those 2 apps. I even got physical invoices in the mail.

What data? Your contacts, calendars, etc should be synced to your computer, you can just sync it right back.

Your music should be on your computer as well ( in itunes). That is how you got on the ipod in the first place, is it not? Just sync it back to the ipod

It does not normally do that ( at least in my experience), but you should always make sure that everything is copied to your computer and backed up before you install an update or do a restore.

Working on Windows 7, ran automatic updates recently, now Photoshop CS5 not working

Hi there. I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7. I installed PS CS5 and have been using it with no problems until I ran automatic updates the day before yesterday, now my PS CS5 ACTS like it's open but really isn't. I can't view the screen, see any files, open anything from Bridge, etc. But when I go to shut down the computer, it tells me PS is running. I can shut it down in Task Manager but otherwise, I can't see that it's open. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled and the problem still happens. Any ideas? Did some service pack wipe out my ability to view PS? Bridge opens just fine, as does Lightroom. Any ideas? I'm a professional photographer and this totally has affected my workflow!! Please help. By the way, I can open PS CS3.

Don't ever allow windows to run updates in the auto mode. Change it to where you can run the updater but choose what you want to update. Video card drivers are the worst offender in auto-update. You never know what hits you until the update is done.
You can also do a system restore too. Go back to a date before the updates. Then see if that works. Then go into windows update and change it from auto to manual so you can choose the updates. Stay away from the video card update.
You can go to www.amd.com and look for your crad drivers. Some laptops allow AMD to publish updated driver and some don't. Since you did put the name of the laptop in your post it is best for you to go there and look. The drivers will be mobility drivers. Download the 10.8 mobility driver package.
If you find the drivers download them to your desk top. A download icon will be made. Click on that Icon to download the software. This new icon is the actual software.
Right click on that icon, choose properties, general tab. There should be something about unlocking the file below. Click to unlock then hit apply. Then choose compatibility tab, put a check mark in run as Admin, hit apply, then ok to close. Some people don't do this step but I do to ensure the proper security levels are met (but not needed to do so your choice).
Click on the icon again to install software. when you come to a screen with the option to install/uninstall the software, choose uninstall. Let it run its course. The screen will flicker and you will see the screen go away and come back bigger (no drivers). When done reboot computer.
Click on that icon again but now you want to choose install software. Let it run its course. The screen will flicker and screen will go away and come back.
Reboot computer.
Hope the drivers work. If they don't go back to system restore and choose a point where you had the good drivers and CS5 worked.

Reader will not read my pdf files. after an automatic update the pdf files are not accessable.

adobe automatic update to XI caused the reader of my pdf files to stop working. The reader tries to open -- the adobe reader window opens for a few seconds, nothing in the window is activated -- then the window automatically closes.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled previous versions that used to work but the reader 9 and X now do the same thing. open, unactivated window after a few seconds the program then shuts down.
I cannot open and read any pdf file on this computer.
There are no error messages and everything seems normal. The program does not work properly.
I have ran the windows diagnostic tools to no avail.
This computer operates windows 7

See if you can open the EULA.exe file in the folder that contains the install of Reader or Acrobat.

Automatic update to 9.3.2 not running

We have a number of branch offices with computers running Vista SP1 with Adobe Reader installed on them. With the most recent Reader update, rather than prompting the user to install the update, only a tray icon is displayed and the user must click on it to initialize the installation. Naturally, nobody actually does this.
I found the Adobe Reader Updater configuration guide here (PDF link). I followed the instructions to set the "iCheck" key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM to 3 to have updates automatically installed. Now the icon does not appear in the system tray, but the updates are never installed. Here is the text from the AdobeARM.log file after a reboot:

I assume "IsUAC_Enabled returns 1." means it thinks UAC is enabled, which is not the case. Users have local admin.

Update: It appears UAC was disabled on these computers by setting the following two policies in Local Security Policy under Security Settings\Local Policy\Security Options:
User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for Administrators in Admin Approval Mode: Elevate without prompting
User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode: Enabled
I'm going to see if there's a group policy that needs to be set to convince the updater that UAC is in fact disabled, since I think this may be a somewhat non-standard method of disabling it. I'll keep you posted.

Nokia c3 Update through wifi / Chat App not found

hi guys, I successfully updated my nokia c3 through wifi to the latest version 4.60, although I'm currently having a chat problem, when I try to open it, it says "Application not found".
What would be the best thing to do? I already tried to restore factory settings. Thanks!

then perform the Firmware Upgrade
then RESTORE your packed up Programs and Data ...
or just goto the Ovi store and find some free chat apps and reinstal them,
its cheaper to paste the links it sends your mobile into your phones browswer and surf using Wifi Connection to download apps and themes. good luck

Error updating CC on Mac, apps not working anymore

Hi, I'm getting an error 595629d0-4f3e-4383-8ec4-ae90204c08de when I update CC. CC askes me to login again whem I want to update and it's sending this error back. I also can't open any CC apps.

Hi Jeff, I'm using OS X Mavericks 10.9.1
In the first attachement you can see the Creative Cloud screen that always stays blank.
In the second attachement you can see an error screen (more a pop up) that show an errro after I tried to login with my Adobe ID. I have to do that when I start up any of the Adobe apps (Photoshop, Premier, Acrobat etc).

Firefox automatically updated itself yesterday, and has not been able to find any server on the internet since. what do I do?

well, a reset didn't help. I uninstalled and tried to reinstall, and the reinstall would not complete.
this afternoon, when I was able to resume, the 800 support number I found on the internet was not able to connect remotely to my computer.
a reinstall, directly from firefox, did complete this time, but still says "server not found" whenever I tryo to acces the internet in any way

Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

HT1977 I can't purchase apps without updating security info. Questions not there!

Security questions need nswered but the questions aren't visible just the answers. Says the account has timed out and won't allow updates to occur. No purchases can occur.

Go to Settings, Store, Apple ID, Sign out, Reset your iPad, [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.], Sign back in and try again.
