Guess what? After posting, I read another thread on this topic where someone said they went to an Apple store and the tech person there added the optional username and password in the Outgoing Mail Server boxes, and then reset the phone again. Although I had tried resetting and restarting a few times today, I had NOT reset it after entering the username and password into the optional fields.
When I entered my username and password into the optional fields, the iPhone entered checks (ticks) to the right of every entry; it had not done this earlier. (I didn't reset at this time, and the outgoing mail would still not transmit).
So just now, I reset it and the outgoing email was sent!
Thanks to you and this forum, it's a great ending to a few frustrating days.
I hope this message helps others. Not only does everything have to be entered correctly in the respective boxes; but once everything is entered and you press the "Done" button, every box should then have a check mark next to it and then you must reset the phone.

HT3149 iPhoto 09 When I click on the preview pane to move a photo into edit, it shows up black and the edit buttons are not active. How do I fix that?

When I click on the preview pane to move a photo into the edit pane, there is no image just a black square and the edit buttons are not active. A few images in an event will move to the edit pane but most will not. I cannot work with those images that do not enter the edit pane..no attaching to email, make a card, slideshow, etc.

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

I get "an error has occured" when trying to download from the AppStore. I can not re-download as the button is not active.

I encountered the response "an error has occured" when I downloaded Maverick X from the App Store. I can not try to re-download as the download button is not active. I have tried rebooting and to get the download from apple.com but it keeps redirecting to the App Store.

Photos have a ? in the top left hand corner. When I click to reconnect files are found but the reconnect button is not active

Mostr f my photos have a question mark in the top left hand corner. When I go to <file> and click on reconnect the missing files are searched for and found but the reconnect button is not active. What can I do. I m unable to edit these photos.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
It sounds like you are in the Elements Organizer that came with your version of Premiere Elements.
That ? in the top left corner of the thumbnail indicates a file that is no longer in the hard drive save location as it was
when a copy of the file was included in the Elements Organizer.
1. Do you know that the file(s) still exist? Could you have moved, deleted, or renamed file/folder involved? Can you go
to the hard drive save location for the file and actually find it there?

i have done the Field Mapping then Value Mapping and Match Record Strategy...
here in the Status i even see that 20 out of 20 Fields are Mapped and 20 out of 20 Values are Mapped.
but the EXECUTE IMPORT button is not activated ..... Please help .. ....
i am using Execl file for doing it .. as a Source ....

Hi Jay,
Just try removing the matching field or field combinations as you have used and Select them again.
Sometime resetting the matching field tab the import action is enabled.
Also check if you have selected the correct Import action like Create for new records and Update or Replace for existing records.
Check on these two areas matching field and import action.

Hi Farhan,
the invoice is closed because it had been paid completely, therefore there is no follow-on transaction.
In version 2007 you can cancel the payment. This will re-open the invoice & you may then use that as a base document for the cerdit note.

Sometimes when sending or replying to a message through face time my send button does not work. If I close the app and reopen it the send button has worked but not always. This is very speratic.

You’re having problems with the computer not booting sometimes.
Do a hard reset.
Power off the computer.
Remove the power cable and the battery.
Hold down the power button for 15 sec while booth power sources are removed.
This should reset the hardware in the computer.
Next test all the hardware in the system.
As you power it back on tap the F2 key. This will load hardware diagnostics.
Run the startup test.
Clicking the White Kudos star on the left is a way to say Thanks!

Goto T.Code SE41
Give ur report name RM07MTRB
Check the radio button F Key Settings and goto Display mode
Double click on the Standard Maximum Interaction
Then check whether in ur Function keys & application tool bar all the functions present or not if not define them and activate it agian

SQLDeveloper 3.2.20.09. Package body button is not active.

SQLDeveloper version: 3.2.20.09
OS: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
JDK: jdk1.6.0_35 (Oracle)
To be short and precise, there is a bug introduced with the latest SQLDeveloper release: the "Open Body" button in the package specification editing worksheet is inactive (greyed out) when the package opened for the first time (http://imm.io/KxbO) and is normal when opened for the second time and so on (http://imm.io/KxcE).
Steps to reproduce the bug:
1. (Re)connect to the DB
2. Open "Packages" in the object tree
3. Double click any package, that has a package body - this will open the package specs
4. See the inactive "Open Body" button
5. Close the package specs
6. Repeat step 3.
7. See active "Open Body" button
Does anyone has the same problem? Is it a bug? Any workarounds to eliminate it?

On the Windows 3.2.20 version I can reproduce the bug.
The 3.2.10 and 3.1 version works ok.
Workaround: open the body in the connection window by double clicking the body. Close the Spec tab and open the spec tab by clicking the 'Open Spec' button in the body.

Mail v. 6.0, the to, cc, bcc buttons are NOT active when I want to email to a group.

In my previous mail versions I was able to send emal to a chosen group, now these buttons are inactive and I must click on each person to send the mail too, very tedious. How do I get these buttons active again without having to go back to previous versions of mail or address book?

On your composing window, right click (cntl click) the toolbar and select customize. Drag the show address icon up to the toolbar (looks like a person). Click the icon and it gives you contacts and groups. Double click the group and it will fill in.
