For music that you've purchased from Apple that are on your iPhone you should be able to copy to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. Also if you are in the US then you should be able to re-download past music purchases for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
For your own music that you've copied, then if you haven't got a backup on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs then you could see if any of the utilities mentioned in this old post still exist and work

By design, the organizer (and any other database management systems) is there to prevent you from duplicating your media files. The catalog management allows you to have the same image in different categories or albums. Duplication in different folders is to be absolutely avoided.
The same image file can have multiple tags like 'family', 'vacations', 'birthdays' and be present in three different albums with the same names. On obvious advantage is less disk space. Another one with your present folder system is that if you edit one of your duplicates, the other ones are unchanged.
I don't see an easy way to make your present folder structure simplified for the organizer ...

I may be old-fashioned, but I want to play my albums from start to finish without having the songs mixed. I have tried almost anything, but it kips jumping randomly from song to song on an album. Extremely annoying if you are listening to a concept album like Berlin by Einstürzende Neubaten!!

Then I suspect you do not have iTunes Match enabled. Using that "delete all" command in the Settings does not remove the music from the cloud, nor does it disable iTunes Match. With iTunes Match enabled you will still see all the music.
So go to Settings > iTunes and App Store and make sure iTunes Match is set to ON (green).

I'm sorry to hear your screen is cracked spence425. I know its difficult to use the phone while its damaged. I'm happy you are receiving a replacement device. Have you saved any of your pictures and other data to the cloud? Here is a link about the cloud http://vz.to/1mF0GIx . Unfortunately, you will be unable to remove any data from the phone if the screen is unresponsive but if you are looking to transfer data to your new phone, it would have needed to be saved via the cloud first. Copy just those files. But that isn't ideal. You really want a differential system that efficiently updates the backup set with all new and updated files. See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a suggested strategy.

It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -
Locate and organize your iTunes files
If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

When you plug in the iPod, if on your Mac, once it shows up, in the main summary page for the iPod there are some check boxes to turn on or off various functions like Enable Disk Mode and one for Manually Manage. Check that, then hit the Apply button to make it take effect. For older iTunes 7, see this post of mine and scroll down a bit to see a screen shot of what I mean...

Ignore the fact that this particular iPod is Mac formatted. The one I use on my work PC is Windows formatted and normally synced to my eMac. I drew a nice big arrow next to the check box to enable the Manual Manage check box to turn it on or off.
If you plug it instead into your Windows machine, you can still change it. Answer "CANCEL" when prompted if you want to sync it to the currently library or if you want to transfer purchases. At this point, it will for a few moments say it is updating the iPod, but don't panic, it is just reading in the contents. Now switch it over to Manual Manage and you can play it from that iTunes library.
On your Mac you can switch it back to Auto sync. It will NOT have to resync the entire library again. It will just update whatever is new to update like before.
Finally, in order to switch your iPod from Mac to Windows format, you first need to plug it into your windows machine and do a Restore on it from that iTunes. This will erase the iPod and format it for windows. Then you eject it, take it home, plug it into the Mac, then allow it to sync your library to this "new" iPod. Do not restore it there. The Mac will sync to the iPod in windows format.
Because a Restore is a reformat and everything is erases, be sure you have nothing on the iPod that isn't already backed up somewhere else. I am assuming your entire library is safely on your Mac, so shouldn't be an issue.
