HT1491 I have to wait 90 days on the iTunes music until I can download my music onto my ipad 2 what should I do?

Hope you can help me

I assume that you have two iTunes accounts and that you've logged in with one of them and re-downloaded past purchases ? Downloading past purchases links that device to that account, and you will need to wait 90 days before you can log in with a different account and download past purchases from that as well - the 90 day timer can't be overridden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
I think that it's designed to stop other people logging into somebody else's device and downloading all their past purchases i.e. sharing music etc.
If you have content from both accounts on your computer's iTunes then you could try syncing it from there (but note that re-downloading past purchases from an account on your computer's iTunes will also start a 90 day timer on it).

p.s. I am not knowledgeable of Apple/iTunes etc, I was under the impression that if I purchased an album then I can use my purchase on a non-Apple device

    Micky,
The iTunes Store sells songs in AAC format.  Most Android phones can play AACs.  Just sync them to your phone per the instructions with the phone.
If by any chance your phone does require MP3 format, you can use iTunes to convert the files, per this guide:
iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format - Apple Support
(This conversion does not require burning.)
For future reference, note that the iTunes Store is really optimized for people using Apple devices.  You might find it more convenient to buy music in Mp3 format from Amazon Digital Music or Google Play Music.

  • Why do i have to wait 90 days to download music I bought with another apple ID?

My iphone 5 is now linked to a 'business' Apple ID.   I would like to change that to a personal apple Id that i used to purchase many songs.    I did change the apple ID but when I turned on 'automatic downloads' for music, a message appeared saying:   'This device is already associated with an apple ID.  If you turn on auto-downloads, you cannot download past purchases with a different apple ID for 90 days'.
Why do i have to wait 90 days to use music i bought with another apple ID?   Is there another way to do this so that I don't have to wait 90 days?
    Thanks

No. There is no getting around this limitation.

  • My iPad says I have to wait 90 days to use a different Apple ID

Ok, I can kinda understand why Apple is trying to implement these measures, but its going to get into a hole heap of mess in my opinion.
I am going through my third iTunes Music Match configuration due to updates etc and its starting to get a painful exercise.
If I have to go through the whole process again, which we will since Apple is promising the impending library deletions, I not sure I want to bother!
Anyway, to get to the point of the problem, since I travel between the UK and the USA, I have two main Apple ID's.
My iPad2 is giving me the error "This device is already associated with an Apple ID" and informing me that I have to wait 90 days before I can switch.
I have no iCloud music showing up on my device and I am getting this error irrespective of which of my two Apple ID's I put into the settings!?
This seems a rediculous situation to get into, so I have no media available and before I can even try to fix the problem, I have to wait 90 days, really Apple!?!?
Even if I wait 90 days to try switching my Apple ID's, I'm not convinced I will still not get this error again so another 90 day debarcle could mean I'm without my media for half a year!!!!!
    Not impressed!

Wait the 90 days. Anti-piracy restriction to prevent improper
media sharing. What was wrong with your old Apple ID that you
    made a new one?

  • How can I create a new TC backup with ethernet, so I don't have to wait two days for a new wireless backup?

How can I create a new TC backup with ethernet, so I don't have to wait two days for a new wireless backup?
Several times in the last year, I've gotten a message that Time Machine needs to completely redo my backup. Using the wireless connection, this takes almost two days. Is there a way to do the backup with ethernet and then switch back to wireless? Thanks.

May I know what is needed to make sure the MacBook is able to see Time Capsule on ethernet?
Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the 2Wire gateway to the WAN port (circle of dots icon) on the Time Capsule.
If AirPort Utility cannot "see" the Time Capsule now, you will need to perform a "hard reset" by holding in the reset button for 7-8 seconds or so and then reconfigure the Time Capsule. You can use the same Time Capsule name and password, etc. as before.
Configure the Time Capsule to "Create a wireless network" and select the Bridge Mode option when it appears during the setup using AirPort Utility.
Once the Time Capsule is configured, restart the entire network again. Power down everything, start the 2Wire first and then start each other device after that one at a time about a minute apart.
Now you can connect your Mac directly to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule for the backup using another Ethernet cable. In general, about 20-25 GB per hour will transfer.
The Time Capsule will broadcast a much faster wireless network than the 2Wire can provide, so you might want to leave the setup "as is" for awhile after the first backup is complete. If you decide to use the Time Capsule as your main wireless access point, you would want to turn the wireless off on the 2Wire since two wireless networks in close proximity can create interference problems.
Or, if you want to use the wireless on the 2Wire, you could turn off the wireless on the Time Capsule. Then backups will occur over the 2Wire wireless, or over Ethernet.
I don't really recommend the "Join a wireless network" setting on the Time Capsule for most users, but you could go back to that setup as well if you want after the first backup is complete.

  • I am wanting to activate iTunes Match on my iPad. But I get a message saying I have to wait 90 days

I am wanting to activate iTunes Match on my iPad. But I get a message saying I have to wait 90 days. Side note: I'm doing this for my mom and not knowing, she created a second Apple ID a while ago. I'm trying to get her ID's sorted out. Anyway, I am wanted to know if there's a work around for this. I know it's a safeguard created so people cannot endlessly log in and out of others accounts and share there music and stuff. So, any help?

There is no work around, you must wait the 90 days (or however long is remaining) before associating the device with another Apple ID.
Keep in mind that if you log into your mother's iPad with your iTunes Store Apple ID she will then be using that Apple ID for everything including purchases. Any apps purchsed with her Apple ID can not longer be updated on the device.

  • HT5661 I have my moms old ipod and I have been trying to put my itunes purchases on the ipod and it keeps telling my I have to wait 90 days before I can do this.  Is there are way to get my purchases onto the ipod??

My mother gave me her old ipod since she has an iphone.  I reset the ipod and signed in under my apple id but the ipod tells me I can't download my previous purchase music because I have to wait 90 days.  What can I do instead of waiting 90 days to use the ipod?  This is the 3rd generation I think without the camera.

You have to sync them from a computer that has those songs. You can't redownload for 90 days
This describes the 90 day period

  • Why do I have to Wait 90 Days to reset to Kiehne@aps.edu

Why do I have to wait 90 Days Why Can't you guys reset it? For me to download Purchases already Purchased

Most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users - you're not talking to iTunes Support here.
I believe that the 90 day limit is an attempt to stop people logging into their accounts on other peoples computer's and copying and sharing purchases.
You can try contacting iTunes Support via this link and see if they can remove the 90 day limit : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

I understand you are not Apple but i was presuming that some logic or technical reason i miss was behind this.
I really do not see any logic business pratice. If i understand i can be agree or desagree but as minima i know the rules and why.

  • HT5622 When I go to down load music from my iPad off recent purchase say I have to wait 75 day

When I go to download music from my recent purchase it say i have to wait 70 day is there a way to reset this cause I dj and I use my iPad for music and I have no music on it

That message indicates to me that you were downloading purchased content with another Apple ID so that you didn't have to pay for it again. When you do that, you associate your iPad with that Apple ID for 90 days and you lock yourself out of your own ID until the 90 days is up.
In any event, you just have to wait it out now. You can't reset it.

  • HT1420 It says I have to wait 90 days---- Help!!!

I reformated my hard drive. I backed up my songs on a web back up. I reinstalled itunes and restored all my songs from the back up. Now when i try to play my songs it says i have to wait 90 days. What can i do? Do i really have to wait 90 days?

If you've associated your phone with an account (associating an account) then you will need to try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can remove the association for you, nobody on here will be able to : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
Your post's title says transferring music to a different account, if that is what you want to do then it's not currently possible, all downloads from the store will remain tied to the account that downloaded it. And using iTunes Match, automatic downloads and redownloading an account's past purchases risks tying that computer or device to that account for 90 days.

  • HT204074 i just got a replacement phone from Asurion because my iphone 4s had issues, i tried to dl music from apple itunes and it keeps telling me that there is another id associated with this device and i have to wait 45 days to associate mine, is there

i just got a replacement phone from Asurion because my iphone 4s had issues, i tried to dl music from apple itunes and it keeps telling me that there is another id associated with this device and i have to wait 45 days to associate mine, is there  a way around this problem or do i have to actually wait?

Either wait it out or contact Asurion and complain. They sent you a used phone as JB said above. There is nothing anyone here or at Apple can do about it.
