HT1819 My first Podcast that I submitted has disappeared from iTunes. Where did it go?

My first Podcast that I submitted has disappeared from iTunes. It is still in my RSS feed. How can I get it back? I would like them all availbale for download.

Downloaded films (and those synced from your computer) should be in the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) :

My podcast, Dave Kropf's Drummer Talk (feeds.feedburner.com/drummertalk) had been listed in iTunes for well over a month now. But now that iTunes 5 has come out, it is no longer listed.

Most of my content has disappeared from iTunes on my iPhone

I have an iPhone 3G running version 4.01. This morning I was playing a song as a couple of podcasts were downloading and it froze.
When I re-started iTunes on the phone it had removed most of my library, apart from 5 songs that I'd recently bought via the phone and a few podcasts that I'd downloaded - none of which had been backed up to my laptop yet.
The files are still there on the phone - when I go to Settings/General/About it says that I'm still using the same amount of memory, but it's only showing that there are 5 songs.
It's been about a week since I've synced to my laptop but that isn't usually a problem. I've tried resetting my settings but nothing's changed. Is there a way that I can get these songs back?

The same thing happened to me. After downloading a couple of podcasts, I launched the iPod app on my 3GS, it froze, and when it reloaded the phone told me I had no music and no videos. All that was left were the podcasts I had just downloaded.
This is really infuriating because I am on day 1 of a 3 week vacation. And now I'm left with no music, no video and no way of restoring my phone with my desktop 1500 miles away.
A friend let me borrow her laptop, and when I connected my iPhone and launched iTunes on her computer, I saw that all my music was still there on the iPhone. I was also able to upgrade to iOS 4.1 through her iTunes. Regardless, when I launched the iPod app, still no access to my music.
What's even more infuriating is that this is not a new problem. I found an archived forum where people running iOS 3 were experiencing exactly the same problem: downloading podcast or music to their iPhones and the phones seemingly erasing all their music. Obviously there is some music library file that has gotten corrupted. Why is there no way to rebuild that file on the go?
This glitch really ruins my vacation. I know there is a fix if I restore with my desktop, but what's the point of a mobile smartphone if you can't actually take it away from your desktop without it erasing itself! Pathetic.

All of a sudden my album artwork has disappeared from itunes !

Hi all
When I go to "get info" on any of my itunes tracks the album artwork has disappeared, leaving only a blank space. It will not allow me to manually add a cover image as I always used to, leaving a blank space. However, if I play a track, the artwork still appears in the "now playing" window.
Where has all my cover art gone ?
Any ideas ??

If the cover image still appears during playback, then it stands to reason that it is not missing. How are you looking at your artwork in the information window?
In the information window for a single track, the cover image is shown in the Summary and Artwork tabs, but you add or remove images in the latter. In the Multiple Item Information window the Artwork tag appears in the Info tab and it is presented as empty even thought the individual tracks do have an album cover image embedded. iTunes has operated in this fashion for some time now.

If I gift a song to a friend, and that friend already has it from iTunes, what happens next?

Music has disappeared from iTunes and from my external hard drive

I store my music on 2 separate external hard drives. I have a lot of music and didnt want to choke my system drive. I do not have iTunes organise my folders. I have a lot of classical and iTunes doesnt understand classical music.
I began to notice a while back that music files were not accessible to iTunes giving the annoying ! when I go to play them. I thought it was because one of the two drives is regularly swopped out for a back up drive. So I recently became aware that many more files were missing and when I search either drive the actual file has gone.
I ran Dougs MIA script and a total of 2600 files are missing out of roughly 17,000. These are a mainly things I ripped myself from CD and alot of it is stuff I dont even listen to/ has never been in a play list so I couldnt have accidentally deleted them.
I notice a lot of comments about this stuff over the years in the other questions here but not much is so recent.
I'm on 10.6.8.

ITunes is gone from my iPhone, icon and all. I've tried going to the site to download again but it won't download.

It's a built-in app so it can't be deleted (and therefore can't be redownloaded), but it might be hidden. If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (pull down the centre of the home screen in iOS 7), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > iTunes being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a soft-reset to see if you can find it after the phone has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

I have a similar situation. My iPhone 4 was running 6.1.2 and looked normal this morning. After 1 hour, I noticed the same screen problem, distorted colors, x-ray like pictures and the previous picture/screen mixed with current picture/screen. I have tried to reset to factory & restore and just reset to factory but those didn't help. Then I upgraded to 6.1.3 but it still didn't help.

Airtunes icon has disappeared from iTunes since latest OS X update (10.6.7)

I don't see the icon for choosing my Airport Express speakers anymore. I just updated to OS X 10.6.7 and iTunes 10.2.1 and it's gone!
I tried to download iTunes again from a direct link - not via Software Update - but it didn't help. (I didn't uninstall the old version though because the app Clean My Mac warned against it)

I see it but when I switch to it nothing happens - music keeps coming out of the computer.

Need help determining why my podcast has disappeared from the iTunes store.

For a while, the last ten episodes or so were missing, but now the entire show is gone. The feed url is: www.warrenandbradley.com/feed/podcast
The feed seems to be perfectly valid and work just fine. I can't think of anything I've changed, and have been submitting new episodes very regularly. Is there any way to determine why it's disappeared from iTunes?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So far you haven't lost any subscribers because your feed is still there - they read it directly and the Store is not involved. It's just that without the Store you aren't likely to get any new ones.
If you can manage to resubmit it by changing the title but not the feed URL then it won't affect subscribers. However sometimes you need to change both (and it can help to change the contents of the 'link' tag) and of course if you change the URL your subscribers will lose contact with you.
You can get round this by adding the 'itunes:new-feed-url' tag to the existing feed, redirecting to the new feed - this will seamlessly move subscribers to the new feed (provided of course that you have access to the feed to edit it). The details are given here:

I have just downloaded itunes 10.6 and in the process my "podcast" option under library has disappeared! The files are still on my laptop. I can also see some of my recorded music in my itunes library but can play them - there is an exclamation mark next

Visibility of the Podcasts section is controlled from within the Edit > Preferences dialog.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
Missing tracks
Typically this can happen because a file or folder is accidentally shunted to the wrong location. iTunes can also get confused if it expects to be talking to an external drive which isn't there. If will often reset the default media folder location and may have trouble finding files in the old folders.
Select one of your tracks that is missing in action. Press CTRL-I to Get Info. Cancel when asked to try to locate the file, then look at the location given on the summary tab. This where iTunes thinks the file ought to be? Now find out where it actually is. Post back the two locations for comparison. I should be able to give you some steps to reconnect everything once I can determine which of the things that might have gone wrong is most likely in your case.
When you get it all working make a backup!

If you were just going to show your podcast at this conference, just go to the Advanced menu, select 'Subscribe to podcast...' and plug in your feed URL. You can still see them in iTunes that way.

No answer on first visit to Genius Bar. Did the suggested full wipe with no sucess so I'm heading back with my laptop in hand to challenge them to find a solution.
