HT1923 With the new update, the itunes wouldn't install. I uninstalled everything. When I click to download itunes, it goes to the screen that congratulations on your download but nothing is downloaded. Please help.

I had issues with the new update to itunes. I did as the website instructed and uninstalled all components.
I went back to download and it acts like everything has downloaded
by stating congratulations but nothing had downloaded.

Hi there, to authorize a computer, you open up itunes, and at the very very top lefthand corner, there will be a little window. Click on that, and it will present you with a list of options. From there, you go to the third option down, which says "Itunes Store," hover over it with your mouse, and it will give you another set of options. From there, you can see the two options, "Authorize" an "Deauthorize computer. Just click on "Authorize," enter in your apple ID and password, and your computer will be authorized! I have just created this account to tell you that nothing would change if you restored your phone.
The first NO SIM nuisance happened just a week ago. Nothing had been done to the phone before that. I pressed HOME + POWER buttons to restart the phone and SIM card was successfully recognized as if nothing had happened. Then I had a lucky week, not reminded of this issue at all.
Today, however, the same problem keeps annoying me. I've used the same method to heal the phone but all I have done seems more like a placebo. So I tried the ultimate solution, restroing it in iTunes.
Ridicuously, the moment I finished basic setup on the newly restored phone, the same NO SIM CARD INSTALLED message poped up.
So IMO, it's not what you should do to erase and restore your phone.
Plus, I called my native carrier and they said no such problems have been submitted. And since my nano SIM card is quite new (three months old), I'm not going to replace it.
I googled this problem and found something on a Hong Kong webpage. The author of that thread points out that there is a flaw in the SIM card tray that prevents the phone from successfully recognizing SIM cards.
And I really hope Apple could probe into this issue and give official solutions other than restarting / restoring the phone like an idiot.

I am having the same problem, and my computer is authorized through my Adobe ID and I cannot open any books. I tried downloading a book from the university library, using my ID, the book is in ACSM format, and I cannot open the book because it keeps telling me

What file? Does this involve iPhoto somehow?

You can purchase Audio books in the iTunes Store App and they will be downloaded for playing in the Music App.

download the iTunes standalone installer
reboot into safe mode
run a permission repair session using disk utility
run the installer
let the Mac reboot normally

The new update for Firefox 6.0 is not allowing me to add it, without adding two toolbars specifically IMVU and Norton, that I don't want to add and the update will not allow me to remove them

Thanks for the article. I've done some of the suggestions but it is still not the same....Does anyone else miss the status bar? Even with installing the add on for it, it did not work for me. It's a known issue. You do have more control if you go into the photos app, resize etc and then send it to your wallpaper. It wont' be perfect, but better.

It sounds like to me you're trying to sync using the computer.
Try these things and see if it helps before you try your next syncing session. If none of the things below work then you might consider trying to sync using iCloud only.
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

I just downloaded the new Lightroom CC from adobe cloud. I have always used Lightroom 5 with no problems. Now after downloading Lightroom CC it will not open. I click on the icon to open.... nothing. I right click and select open..... nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled....... nothing.

Same here, I tried uninstalling LR CC and reinstalling, same issue. Looks like they need to work on some things. I'll just use LR 5 until they get it figured out.
