I'm not sure if it started after I updated my iOS cos I was able to update a few other apps. I just can't connect to neither apps store nor iTunes! I need help else I'd boil this phone alive!

I am trying to open a specific page on the web. I used to be the webmistress of it, but now the domain has migrated from blogger to wordpress, I cannot open it. I am the only one in the universe who can't, so it must be the computer - have tried all browsers to no avail. All other web pages load, so it's not my service provider. What could be preventing my computer from access? It MUST be the computer unable to see the page for some reason.
You, or someone using your computer, may have hacked the system to redirect queries to certain servers. The file modified is /etc/hosts.
The easiest way to fix the hosts file is to restore it from a backup that predates the modification, or to copy the unmodified file from another Mac. If you can't do that, then do as below. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data. This is a simple procedure, but if you don't follow the instructions exactly, you could be left with an unbootable system. In that case, you'll have to restore from a backup or reinstall OS X.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
open -e /etc/hosts
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see this:

Below that, you'll see some other lines. There should be nothing above the first line "##". If you have any doubt about that, STOP and ask for guidance. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom. Scroll bars are hidden by default until you actually start scrolling, so you may not realize that you’re not seeing the whole document.
If the contents of the TextEdit window are as described, close it, then enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (by copy and paste):
sudo sed -i~ '11,$d' /etc/hosts
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Confirm. Quit Terminal.
If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Log in as one and start over.
That will fix the hosts file. There is now a copy of the old hosts file with the name "hosts~" in the same folder as "hosts". You can delete the copy if you wish. Don't delete the file named "hosts". -
I have done the software updates on my laptop but still can't get the app store

I am trying to download the app store for my laptop, however, I have done all the system updates (numerous times over the past few months) and the app store has never appeared. I can't seem to find a link to download it from the website and am not sure how I am able to get it on my computer without reinstalling my whole operating system or something (which I really don't want to do if I can avoid it).
Any information on this issue would be greatly apprieciated,

I have one computer with Windows 7 and an older version of Firefox, not sure exactly which one. I have never had a problem with saving passwords on it. I now have a new computer with Windows 8.1 and the latest version of Firefox, installed 5.29.14, and it is only randomly saving passwords. All the sites I've tried are ones that permit this, and I was able to save them on Explorer. I've checked my settings and save password is enabled--it seems Firefox is being selective about what it will save passwords for. Is this something new or is there a way to change it so it the box will always pop up asking me to if I want to save a password? Thanks for any help!
I appreciate your help but I am not a very expert computer user. I have checked that I am permitting passwords to be saved and it does work on some sites. I don't know how to do the first two things you mentioned

I found a bookmarklet on the page above but I don't know how one applies them.
What baffles me is why I've never experienced this issue with Windows 7 and the version of Firefox I am using on it. It works just fine on the Aetna site and all the others I'm having this problem wit Do you think it may be a Windows 8.1 issue? Or something with the new version of Firefox? As I said, I've got Win7 and an older version of Firefox that I use with it. I'm reluctant to update to a newer version of Firefox on my old computer in case that is the problem.

When I open Facebook and a few other webpages the screen size is large and some of the info will not appear. I have tried everything to reset the size and it does not work. I have even zoomed out and the missing info still does not appear. But if I log into IE it is just fine and all the info is there and is useable. I hate IE and do not want to use it so please help me fix this issue with Firefox.
CTRL+0 (<--that is a zero) will reset your zoom level on affected pages. Firefox remembers the zoom level you last used on a page.

I reinstalled my plug-ins into Photoshop CC (2014) on Mac OSX 10.9.4, and they are greyed out in the Filters menu. How do I get them to work? I have tried everything including repairing permissions.
My apologies. Your post jogged my little grey cells to the point that I did a few experiments. In essence, you are right. My plug-ins do not work with 8-bit greyscale images. I like to deliberately shoot B&W and have a Wratten #12 minus-blue filter on the lens--as I used to do with film cameras.
The raw files ( Fujifilm's .RAF) were converted in Adobe CR by checking off "Convert to Grayscale" under the fourth tab. In the future, I will do the B&W conversion in Photoshop with either Nik or Topaz plug-ins.

I have an original iPad running 5.1.1. It has started throwing me out of safari to the point it is now unusable. Have tried everything including full restore but problem persists?
Try a few things:
First, try double tapping the home button. You should see a row of apps at the bottom; these are your recenty opened apps. Hold your finger down on any of the icons until they start to shake, and a red minus() appears. Tap the red minus for each app. This will close the app, not delete it. If you have too many apps open, this can cause crashes.
If it still crashes, try the basic troubleshooting steps here:

When I try logging onto YouTube from my iPad app it gives me authentication error. no they are already in mp3 format I just tried that home sharing today because I couldnt find any other reason why they werent syncing. here is an example of a sync I just tried. I made an mp4 concert into an mp3 it came out perfect on my computer.. then I tried to sync it to my ipad with no luck, other than it going on my computer, it did not show up anywhere on my ipad in any area of the music sections etc playlists, songs, albums etc. Its just not there but remains on my computer. thats why I tried the home share today to see if that would help. Either I am really missing something or there is something wrong with this ipad. I am using OS 64 bit Windows Vista Home Premium and recently updated the latest version of iTunes. (I only have this CD burning software on my Laptop). Ever since updating, I received the message 'Registry settings for the iTune drivers are missing for CD burning'. The drivers for Lower and uppper filters in the registry are missingand I now have no optical drive. I have unistalled and reinstalled Itunes and manually entered the filters. Have tried everything including something called GEAR driver installer which was suggested on several technical sites. Everything was working fine in iTunes until I updated it.. It's strange I can still import music but not burn?? Friend s have told me they have ha dthe same problem when updating iTunes but resolved the problem by uninstalling/reinstalling or altering registry keys.

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

A message cannot be seen on my incoming emails. I can only view the message if I click on reply. Also any links attached to email will not open. I have tried everything to solve the problem but not able to.
Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

You have gone to Settings > Sounds and the volume is set at a high level, you have selected a Ringtone for the sound, and it still does not ring? Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears.
If that does not help, visit an Apple store genius bar and have the iPhone tested to see if there is a hardware failure. -
