The lock button on my iPhone5 has also started acting up. Extremely annoying. I have to get it replaced, but I've dropped my phone once and there is a scratch on the top left corner of the phone, so I'm not sure what the warranty says about this situation.

I have forgotten my password for iPod Touch 4G and it is now disabled. I tried connecting to iTunes but i haven't synced before and i need to enter the password before i can back it up so i can restore it. I don't want to lose pictures so please HELP!
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. That is how it works
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -

If the phone is locked to a carrier then you will need the carrier to unlock it And only the carrier can do that.

Hello! I have configured my Wireless network to support bonjour protocol. When I support mDNS in the same Vlan I can see the Apple TV with my iPhone, but I cannot see it with my iPad. Someone know if there is any different in the Bonjour protocol between the iPhone and the iPad???

Georgeit is incomprehensible to me why, if you had important data on your phone, you never backed it up using any of the dozen or so means of backup and sync that Apple offers. We are 4 decades into the personal computer revolution, and I would have thought that there wasn't anyone left who did not understand that backups are an essential part of the responsibility of using a computing device.

I just came back from a trip and tried sync'd my iphone to my itunes on my mac. I have been doing this for months to add music and files between both devices. The phone has been telling me for months that I need to buy/add more space, but I was able to get by. I have not done a backup because everytime I tried it told me I needed to buy/add more space. I've already spent tons of money on Apple products and I really did not want to buy more space when I could easily delete files I no longer needed. (Which I did regularly) For strange reason I selected "update" or something along those lines last night (ACCIDENTALLY) and now my phone refuses to work.
I did some googling and realized this is very problematic. I now run the risk of losing all of the media and images on my phone if I do decide to Restore. Is this avoidable?
I have another Genius bar appointment at 7:45pm. I fear they will tell me I MUST hit restore and then I'll lose some very valuable images and videos that I've recently recorded/documented. Is there no way for them to back up my files and house them somewhere? Can I do this on my own?

They have tried to make it as simple as possible by providing multiple ways to back up your device automatically, and have apparently been warning you for quite some time that it was not happening. Finding a fix for that did not require you to purchase any more storage space from Apple, you could have easily set it up to back up to your computer at any time.
The companies that make data recovery software do not sell it cheaply. Why? Because their target market is people who are desparate to recover what they just messed up.
Don't blame Apple for your own failures. They gave you ways to back it up. You did not do so.
What would you have done if you'd dropped the phone in a sink full of water or dropped it down the stairs? would that be Apple trying to make things difficult and expensive as well? -

HI can anyone help, since the latest software was downloaded on my iphone 5 the wifi does not seem to work properley, when it is supposed to search for the wifi networks it does nothing sometimes a small blue circle will appear but no connection, and also it does not show a list of connections like it should. i have tried all the usual things like resetting the phone also reset my modem but this has not fixed the problem, this is the second handset i have had from apple the otherone had aspeaker prob and they kindly replaced the handset, its just annoying can anyone help please

What happens when you try to access those files? Do you get an error message? If so, what is it?
Are the files you're trying to access on a particular website? Are you opening them via a browser, or downloading them and trying to open directly in Acrobat? Are you able to open other PDF files?
Sorry to ask so many questions, but we need a little more detail to get to the bottom of things.
