HT201365 I do not have my iPad 3 connected to the internet via a mobile account. Of course I have Internet access via wifi. Am I still protected by this service?

I want to know if my iPad is protected through the theft protection in iOS 7. I have wifi connectability, but mobile service connection that I subscribe to.

I mostly use Safari. But I also tried it on Firefox, Mozilla, and Camino. Mac OS X. It's my work computer, so I've only tried it at the office. I have to be connected through the Ethernet cable to access my files and email on the server.
