I updated my 4s to the latest update. Worked fine yesterday and this morning I'm totally locke. It's demanding a passcode and I don't think I ever had a passcode. How do I find it? I need my phone desperately for my business. I am the only owner of this phone. Help!!

You cannot retrieve passcode if you forget.
The only way is to wipe iPhone through iCloud and then restore from backup.

Alas, I have tried that. I have also done this complicated uninstall and reinstall process. I have figured out in my battles with iTunes today that it will open when I am not connected to the Internet but as soon I turn on the wifi and go the iTunes store, iTunes crashes again.

I have seen other users talk about this and make the same claim. Unfortunately, even if you didn't set a passcode, and the iPad is insisting that you did, unless you can successfully guess what the passcode is, you still have to follow these instructions and use one of the methods in here in order to restore your iPad which will then unlock it.

You don't HAVE to put that passcode in. If you look closely you'll see the option to skip it. That's what I did for my touch.

Here is how.
None of the Apple-suggested ways worked. However, before totally giving up I started Roxio Popcorn and pressed the big eject button on it. It came out effortlessly!
So, I thought "Weird..."
I put the CD back in and reproduced my original problem. I got it out just as easily using Roxio Popcorn Eject feature.
So, I then thought "Maybe it is the disk?" There is nothing wrong with the disk as far as I can tell. It is perfectly round, has a smooth label-side surface. It is not even a label, it is a standard software install disk you buy in stores.
I inserted a different disk. The mini mounted it, I browsed it, and then ejected it by dragging it to trash. Worked fine.
I tried a few other disks.
The drive seems to work fine.
Maybe that CD is cursed, I dunno. I tried that disk in my PowerBook and it works fine there.
Who knows ?
I am still backing up my hard drive as I type this message in case I need to take it to the store.

Did you and your ex ever share an iCloud account or Apple ID?
When is it asking for the info?
Did you plug your phone into your computer to sync with iTunes? If so, it's nothing to worry about probably, it's probably trying to grab and app or something from your iTunes library from her account.

I have tried to put my ipod 5th gen into recovery mode but it is asking for a dik that I havnt got because I never had one in the first place. what do i do ?

I have an Imac running OS 10.6.8 All of the sudden it is refusing the password to link with my ATT Wifi network. It asks for a password that is then invalid. I never had to use a password in the past.. can password be reset?

Firefox worked fine yesterday, but today it wont load. I tried unstalling and downloaded a new version. Got message the extended attributes are inconsistant.

ATried to open Firefox browser to read mail but it wouldnt open. An error message indicated something about version 12 and version 11 issues so I uninstalled Firefox and used Explorer to download a fresh copy. Wouldnt install.

Thank you for the reply. I forgot to mention that I did run scans for viruses and malware and came up clean.
I ran the System File Checker and it told me there are corrupt files that could not be repaired. I dont understand all the info that I read on the CBS.log, but from what I gather from the link you provided I'll be doing a reformat today. :(
What puzzles me is the fact that all was well when I shut down my computer but by morning there were corrupt files????? Strange no virus, no malware so what on earth happened? The million dollar question.:)

Unfortunately, if the iPad is insisting that you use a passcode, there is no way around it other than to restore the device using iTunes on a computer, or by erasing it in iCloud.com via Find My iPhone.
You could try resetting the iPad and cross your fingers and hope this is just a blip on the radar....hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

I was trying to do the latest update on my desktop for my Itunes. I got MSVCR80.dll is missing. I saw a post about deleting all the apple itunes programs, restarting and reinstalling. I tried that. As it was installing a message came up about "Service'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start systems services. I did a retry, got the same message, then hit ignore. It went on. Then a message popped up saying "Itunes not installed correctly" Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Now my Itunes program will not open at all. What gives? This is very frustrating and I am not very computer literate to begin with.
