HT201441 Need to erase my old iphone but... It's locked (I don't remember the pass code#, it is not connected to wi-fi or cellular #so I can't erase from my icloud). Help??
I need to erase my old (unused currently) phone so my kids can use it on wi-fi and play games but it's locked & I don't remember the pass code. Any one know how to erase it and start over without the pass code.
PS it is not currently connedted to wi-fi so the simple "erase device" using iCloud won't work.
Here is a guide how you could reset your iPhone via iTunes, if you cannot remember the passcode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
iPad,iPod,iPod Touch Recovery Mode
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

I am trying to restore an older iPod Touch, but do not have the passcode. I am getting an error message saying that I need to free up some space, but I cannot because I don't have the passcode and have never synced this device to my account. Help..
If it is asking for the screen-lock passcode then:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
Otherwise follow varjak paw recommendation -
Help, somebody has turned the restrictions on on my daughters iPad mini and we don't know the pass code to turn it off. She can't use iTunes because of them being turned on. I have tried backing it up to a laptop and then restoring it to factory settings but you need the pass code to do this....any ideas how I can turn it off or reset it, anything that might help its driving me potty...
Many thanks

1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.

I can not update several of my apps that i have purchased a while back in my Apps Store on my MacPro. Because it keeps using my old @me account for iTunes and i don't remember the password or security question, Please help?
Hi AlphaCentori,
If you are having issues accessing the Apple ID that was used to originally purchase those apps, you may find the following article helpful:

I have an old apple id that I don't use (and I don't remember the password) and it now won't let me log in for updates, how can I delete it
Click here and try resetting that account’s password.
That Apple ID is stored inside each of those applications. If you can’t get back into it, you’ll need to delete and redownload all of them, which may require repurchasing paid ones.

What do you mean 'cant remember the iTunes code' ? What 'iTunes code' are you referring to ? If you mean an iTunes gift card code, and you haven't redeemed the card onto your account, then you will need to find the card. If you mean something else ... ?

I installed ios 7.0.2 on my i-pads and now want to delete the pass code, which I originally put in. I no longer want the hassle of the pass code, but cannot figure out how to delete it. I do not want the additional security.
Settings>General>Passcode Lock. Tap the arrow to the right on that line. Enter your Passcode. In the next window select Turn Passcode Off. Enter your passcode again to confirm.

I have an IPad2. When I first got it my 9 year old nephew was using it a lot &hi noticed stuff was missing like photos and apps and new stuff had been added.
I wanted to lock up stuff so he could not download and get rid of things I wanted on there. I set my restrictions up so I thought I was safe. I inadvertently locked myself out by forgetting the lock code for my restrictions. It's been 2 years and I need to set up things I am locked out of. Can anyone help me ?
