Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

I have an Apple ID and trying to sign in for the 1st time on iTunes. When I do, I get the message: "This Apple ID has not been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information." When I do, it brings me to the same AppleID login window, and I get stuck in the same loop. I never get to the following screen to enter my account info. What's going on?? This is MADDENING!

I just downloaded the newest reconfigured version of iTunes, and for the first time ever my content is all screwed up. Specifically, all of my playlists are gone, so are my apps. The good news is that my music library is intact and that I've got more than one device with everything as it should be on them; the bad news is that my PC does not recognise my devices and keeps defaulting to " lets sync your devices to this new computer loose all of the playlists I've spent years compiling". I don't get it. Any ideas?

Deploying iTunes and plugging an iPhone for the 1st time
Hello everybody,
I'm going tu upgrade iTunes to 9.2.1 on a feew weeks for the entire park.
I enabled the parental control to doesn not allow the acces to the Apple store.
I put the ipsw file on a network share.
So when iTunes will be deployed I will send a mail with the procedure, how to upgrate the iOS.
Here is the problem :
There are a lot of people who haven't synced their iPhone with iTunes.
So when they will plug for the first time their iPhone to the computer, iTunes will ask to register. So they will have to click on "Ask later". After that, an erreor occurs "problem to acces to iTunes Store" : that's noral because there is no access to the iTUnes store.
When we click on OK, at this time, finaly, we are on the main screen, and start the upgrate.
So there is the question :
Is there a way to skip all the introduce screen when an iPhone is plugged for the 1st time to a computer, and have the main screen directly?

For the 1st time I am trying to send an iphoto by e-mail but get the error message " combination of username and password not recognised by the server" I use Sky Mail ( yahoo mail) and input the same username and password that I access Sky Mail - have retried many times. I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

You cannot use it. You would have had to set it up on your ipod itself before you lost it. Since you did not "turn on the icloud", then you have not set up find my ipod.

I got the new iPhone5 back in Dec, I hooked it up to my computer for the 1st time this wk. It deleted all new data added since Dec (notes,contacts,texts,pics, info added to apps) and reverted back to all my old data (literally uploaded all of my old texts and 1400 old pics and deleted anything new). How can I retrieve all the lost data?? Please help!!

No. Quit and try again. If that fails again,
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

ITunes library and folders disappeared
It was all working earlier today, and now I open iTunes and its empty, the library is empty, the folders we created for each iPod (we have three) are all missing... If I go to "Add a folder to library" I can see all the music folders that i need to add... so i did that again... but i can't seem to get the old .itl file to "reload" or take effect again... shoudl i empty the library again and load the .itl file? I see a folder called OLD ITUNES LIBRARIES etc... per other postings in this forum. However the other postings, as far as i can find, do NOT explain HOW to reload or reactivate the .itl and .xml files... WHAT HAPPENED, and HOW DO I FIX IT? I recently downloaded this new iPod tool that would help download new updates to the ipods themselves...but we did absolutely nothing to the library database at all. PLEASE HELP before i have to redo thousands of songs into multiple iPod folders from scratch... sigh.
I wish I could help but the exact same thing happened to me the other day. I turned on my computer and iTunes was completely empty. To make it worse, this morning I was using my iPod which is a 30GB video one and it was working fine! But I went to go eat lunch, leaving my iPod plugged into my computer, charging, and when I came back, the same thing happened on my iPod: over 400 songs and 70 videos, gone! If you find the answer, let me know!

The internet was working fine til 10:31am philippine time. Was downloading OSX Lion, at that time it was somewhere half. Then all of a sudden internet failed and lost connection. Called my ISP immediately and was told it would take 24-48hours for the service to be restored. THen after ending the call the OSx Lion icon disappeared. I dont know what to do. Im not techie at all. On the task bar you have a laptop icon call Lenovo Think. click there and then click on Lenovo Thinkvantage Tools. In here you have all the Thinkvantage softwares in the computer. Just clic on Fingerprint Reader to open it.
The fingerprint reader can be use to power on the computer you need to specify a windows password to use it.
you can put a BIOS password and you use fingerprint instead.
Make the restore disks as soon as possible. To create them follow the steps above and click on Factory Recovery Disks instead.
Changing the boot order is just a setting in the BIOS you can do that at any time.
No you don't have to install Norton or Office 2010. If it's already installed you can uninstall them from the control panel>programs and features.
