  • Bluetooth connection using iPhone personal hotspur

I try to connect my iPad and iPhone by Bluetooth connection of iPhone personal hotspot. But both decries do not find each others, even it says NOW dicoveable ?

Same to me. Got a new IPad 3 and once it worked to use the pasonal hotspot on my IPhone 3GS device. If I now switch on personal hotspot on the IPhone the IPad can see the IPhone in Bluetooth but can not connect. The IPhone won't show the IPad at the Bluetooth device list.
    Any solutions?

  • Bluetooth connection between iPhone 4 and MacBook Air

How to enable bluetooth connection between iPhone 4 and MacBook Air?

I used to be able to connect my iPhone 4 with my 3 yr old MacBook Pro using Bluetooth. I used my iPhone's personal hotspot more then once to access the Internet on my laptop when there was no wireless. I don't get why it wouldn't work with my new MacBook Air. That just seems silly. My laptop found my iPhone and was able to add the device, but then my iPhone wouldn't connect. Is there really no way around this??

  • I can not connect my iphone with windows 7 64 bit via bluetooth

how can i connect my iphone 4 via bluetooth and when i connect iphone with laptop it says "bluetooth peripheral device"  drive problem in my device manager, why"

This is not a feature of iPhone.  Bluetooth file transfer is not supported.  Unless it's for the specific purpose of tethering, the iPhone will NOT connect to a computer via bluetooth.

  • Problem with bluetooth connection between iPhone 5s iOS 8.1.2 and MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) Yosemite 10.10.1

After the upgrade to iOS 8.1.2 in iPhone 5s and OS X 10.1.1 Yosemite (MacBook Pro Mid 2012) can not connect my iPhone 5s to the MacBook, the iPhone tells me: "The MacBook is incompatible" or the message "Connection Error, Make sure the Mac is turned on and is within range" even the iPhone being close to the Mac. Otherwise with the updated iPad 2 (iOS 8.1.2) is connected via bluetooth to the MacBook without any problems, Even the iPad 2 does not detect the iPhone bluetooth.

An iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7722
If you are attempting to use Handoff/Continuity, that does involve Bluetooth but the devices are NOT paired; Bluetooth just needs to be on and the devices in range of each other. The following may help with Handoff/Continuity issues: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5458

  • Testing Bluetooth connection between iPhone and MaxBook pro

    Hi everyone:
I'm testing the GKTank sample from the SDK for the purpose of learning how the Bluetooth connection can work between two iPhone/iPad devices. I do not have the second iPhone to test it with so at the moment all I have is my iPhone 4 and a MacBook Pro that runs GKTank app in a simulator.
But what happens is that when I fire both (the app on iPhone and on the simulator) the simulator always pops up a message that my iPhone was discovered (in the list for the GKPeerPickerController window) but my iPhone never does the same thing and its GKPeerPickerController window simply shows "Looking for other iPads, iPhones, or iPod touches..."
Can someone tell me why is that and if it is normal?

I get a similar result. I can initiate the game from the sim side and get an accept/decline on the iPhone4, but as soon as I accept the game ends on the sim side. Frankly, I didn't expect it to get that far.

Basic question: Do you have a tethering plan with your carrier? It isn't automatically provisioned; you have to ask for it and pay extra with most carriers. See these tips from Apple:

    iPhone: Troubleshooting Personal Hotspot

  • Bluetooth connection causing iPhone not to sound ring

Suddenly it's gotten so that my iPhone4S (on Verizon) isn't ringing when Bluetooth is on.  It does get calls on the screen and it does make sound otherwise.  I turn Bluetooth off, and it always rings now.
I suspect this may be particular with the Pansonic land-line headset/bluetooth connection I use.  It was great when working in that my land lines would ring (with the sound of my cell ringtone no less) and I could get cell calls on any headset in the house.  It used to work all the time (For several months at least and perhaps my bluetooth on this phone isn't as strong as the old 3GS?)
Something to look out for if your phone stops ringing and can't otherwise be explained or fixed by resets etc.

I have an iPhone 4 and have the exact same problem as you on the same Panasonic landline.  I rebooted the landline and it worked temporarily, but soon stopped ringing.  Rebooting phone also a temporary fix.  Don't think it is a Bluetooth issue, just an Apple issue.  I went back to my Droid X and it has worked for several months with my Panasonic landline with absolutely NO issues at all.  My wife uses the iPhone 4S and the "silent" ringer issue remains.  This ***** because I REALLY like the iPhone much better, and my wife could care less, but I bought the Panasonic landline specifically for this capability for the convenience of ringing and using the landline handsets, and this feature is more important to me than anything else.  And now I wouldn't want to take the chance on any new iPhone versions in the future that this issue may come back, especially after the initial 30 day "trial" period.
Please keep me updated should ANYONE stumble upon a solution!
    Thank you in advance!

  • Macbook Pro bluetooth connection to iPhone 4.

I just purchased a Macbook Pro (latest edition) and it will not establish a bluetooth connection with my iPhone. Keep receiving the following error: The bluetooth network is unavailable... I check the phone and I have the bluetooth turned on. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Unfortunately, although you can Pair the iPhone with your MBP it only offers a limited range of functions and you can't connect to it as a network device. Don't ask me why Apple have crippled it this way ...
Mine connects happily to my GPS and two helmet headsets and, while it's been paired and shows:
    AVRCP Device
    Audio Source
    Handsfree Gateway
    PAN Network Access Point
    Phonebook
    PnP Information
    Service Discovery
    Wireless iAP
It always comes up "Blutooth Network Not Available" when I try and connect.
You should be able to pair if you run Bluetooth setup Assistant though ?
If you're after 'tethering' i.e using the iphone as your Internet access then this is dependent on your ISP allowing/enabling it. On the iPhone open Settings/Network and turn Personal Hotspot On and it will show you the password for connection. On the MBP (System Preferences/Network) you will then see 'yourname's iPhone' as a connection option for your current location and you can enter the password there - but be aware that carrier data charges and plan limits will apply! My 2GB mobile plan data gets eaten very quickly this way.

  • Itunes does not open menu on connection with Iphone 5 windows 8

Upon connecting my iphone to my windows 8.1 (64bit) computer, Itunes does not open the Iphone interface.  How can I sync or back-up the iphone.
Itunes recognizes the Iphone on the main menu but the menu for the Iphone does not come up.  This is IOS 7.0.4.
    Mpls

Have you tried clicking on the phone in the device section. It may not automatically select the iPhone. From iTunes, you can select the phone. The menu looks a little different in the newer versions of iTunes. Control + B will bring up the menu bar, Control + S will bring up the sidebar for you to select the phone.

  • Bluetooth connectivity with iPhone 6

Is Apple STILL having an issue with Bluetooth connectivity in cars with the iphone6? I am getting very frustrated as I have had my iPhone since the beginning of October. Does anyone know how I can resolve the issue? I travel a lot and would graciously appreciate any help! Thanks!

I found this in another forum:
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.
Once this is done - then delete the pairing from your iphone and then pair your phone to your car again.
Going to try this first thing tomorrow.

  • Bluetooth connection iMac - iPhone

I am struggling to connect my iMac via bluetooth with my iPhone. I get a note that tells me that the network is not configured .. But the iPhone is visible on iMac

Bluetooth between Mac and iPhone is only for Internet Sharing (which is network dependent, but generally requires you to pay for a tethering package).
Unlike most mobile phones you can't use Bluetooth File Exchange to view the iPhone on a Mac. :-/

  • Flaky bluetooth connection on iPhone 4.

My iPhone 4 seems to have a flaky bluetooth connection stability.  I'm using it with a Bose headset, but had the same problem with a previous headset of the same type.
The phone pairs fine with the headset, and usually works ok. But every few days, when I power on the headset, it will not connect to the phone.  Power cycling the headset a few times does not seem to help.  Only when I turn off bluetooth on the phone, and then turn it back on again before powering on the headset will I be able to establish a connection.  Then things will be ok for a several days (with 2 uses of the headset per day - back and forth commute), until the problem recurs.  I am running iOS 4.3.5 but have not made the jump to iOS5.
Anyone else experience this problem?  And find a solution?
