HT204053 can 2 people have icloud accts on one computer and keep info seperate

we have 2 people running 2 iphone 4, and 1 macbook and are having trouble with transfering to icloud and keepig information from one acct seperate from other acct. what are we doing wrong?

In order to have two primary iCloud accounts on the same computer, each of the two users will need to have their own user account, and then each user should switch between these accounts when using the computer.

I have 3 i phones.  Can I have multiple accounts on one computer where it keeps the contacta and calendar for each?

My daughter and I both have iphones. I created an account (not separate itunes) for her on my computer so she could sync her phone/itunes but not have it interfere with mine since we have WAY different taste in music. Creating a different computer profile should work if you have separate itunes accounts, too.
If you all use the same itunes account, you can turn on Home Sharing. That way you can all download the same content without having to pay for it again. Not sure how or if that works with separate itunes accounts.
    Hope that helps!

    Hey everyone,

Yes. iTunes treats each device as a separate unit, and you can have different preferences for each.

  • Can u have multiple Ipods on one Computer?

I have a iPod and would like to get my husband one but I want to make sure that we can have two ipods connected to the same computer. We use the same computer at home. I have my ipod dock connected now, would I need to add a dock for his or can he use mine? Do I have to change any settings to allow more then one ipod to use the same library?
    Thanks

  • Can I rip a CD on one computer and transfer it to another?

I have a MacBook Air with no CD drive and a MacBook Pro that has one.  I have a pile of CDs that I want ot rip onto my Air.  Can I rip them onto my Pro and then transfer them onto my Air so that they go into iTunes properly?
    Thank you,
    Ian

Thank you Niel.  Can you give me a little more detail?  I am assuming I can physically move the songs from one computer to the other through Airdrop.  Once that is done, I don't understand what you mean by "then into the library in the open iTunes application window".
    Thank you,
    Ian

  • Move two iTunes accounts onto one computer and keep them separate?

I recently got a new mac os x lion and I need to put my families iTunes library on it. the problem is that one separate account is on a computer, and the other separate account is on an external hard drive. I need both different accounts on one computer and continue to be separate. Im hoping to be able to log in and out of my own account without disturbing the other one. Thanks in advance for the help!

Why don't you create a username (at OS level) for each one of the users?  You can then import the contents of each one of the accounts you mention into the appropriate iTunes.

  • Can you have two ipods on one computer?

Ok I have a mac computer and an ipod nano and everything works great, but my mom is now getting an ipod nano. Is there a way to have two ipods on my computer, where each ipod has it's own library and account so we don't have to share all of our music?

There are actually a few methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Just to summarise what's in the link above which is a little out of date:
Method one is to have individual Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you completely separate iTunes Music folders and libraries.
Method two is to set your preferences so that any or all of iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library:
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Mac
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. You can read more about playlists at these links:
iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
Another option when using a single library is to set any or all of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod

  • Can we have two itunes on one computer?!

    Hello.
My dad has just got an ipod shuffle for xmas, and was wondering if we can set up two itunes on our computer so we dont get songs mixed up etc - I cant seem to do this and his ipod has been registered on mine and so his music goes into my library - help

It's possible to have multiple libraries in a single Windows user account. To create or access a second (or more) library, hold down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to the other Library.
Note: You can only have one Library open at a time and iTunes will default to the last library opened if you don't use the keyboard command to choose one. The new library will be empty until you add content to it. To get back to your original library you need to close iTunes and open it again while holding down the shift key, this time choose to open an existing library and navigate to its location. Multiple libraries can prove tricky when using multiple iPods, if you don't use the keyboard command you can risk syncing to the wrong library:Using multiple iTunes libraries -Windows
Another option is to create a separate Windows User account for each person on your PC. Different accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists
I don't use Windows so I can't give you a step by step on that one, however I can point you to another web page which should help you out. You can read about Windows user accounts here: Create A New User Account In Vista

  • Can you have two iPods for one computer?

I know nothing about iPods so please excuse me for this question that probably has an obvious answer. My sister has an iPod nano that she has been using with our computer for a long time. I just bought an iPod and was trying to set it up. So can I use her i tunes to put music on my ipod or how does it work? I am aware you are not supposed to steal music though. So what am I supposed to do?

Yes, you can use 2 iPod with 1 computer quite easily.

  • Can you take sofeware written on one computer and use it on another.

We have a problem with the apllication maybe or the gpib. The apllication was working on one computer, but we change out that computer now we can get the program to work. A error message is generated (-107---) and fail to set up the test equipment.

    Hi Rickey,
It is hard to determine the problem from this explanation, but have you installed all of the drivers necessary for your program? Is it possible that your program is making assumptions that are not true in your new setup. If you can provide more detail, I can do my best to help you out.
