HT2513 URL in iCal are always displayed in plain text when viewed in iCal but as URL if sent to an Outlook account. Does anyone know if this is expected behaviour?
Does anyone know why iCal in Lion doesn't displays URL's for events, just as plain text, and why the URL window has been removed when creating a new event?

I can't answer your Thunderbird "configuration" questions, because I'm in the living room, using the crap Vista laptop, on which I plan to install Thunderbird, and then take Windoze Mail out in the street and drive over it a few times.. I'll get back to you one way or the other, and let you know if your instructions solved the problem, or not..
I don't understand why Thunderbird "out of the box", so to speak, simply doesn't forward HTML emails with embedded graphics, (like Outlook Excess, and Winblows Mail do).. without having to go through those steps. I personally HATE HTML email, but over the years, it's become more and more prevelant.. so it's a problem I must fix..

My photos are not showing up as layers in the layers panel, only as one layer, so I am not able to make changes to the layers. Does anyone know why this is happening? Am I downloading them from my camera wrong? I have watched the video and the photos don't open that way on my layers panel. Photos from cameras or scans have only one layer (the 'background' layer).
You can start with that 'background' layer and duplicate it or add other layers in the editing process. For instance you can make a selection of a subject and put it on another layer; a common use is to desaturate the 'background' and to keep the color in the selected subject in your newly created layer. -
whenever someone sends me a file the Ipad labels it winmail.dat and wont allow me to open it...these are Word, Exce or jpgs. Does anyone know why this is and how to fix it? Also, how can you save attachments to a file on the IPad2
Is this a particular sender, or all of your attchments? Google winmail.dat and you will see a number of returns that can explain this, but in short, this is the way some e mail providers deal with attachments. If all of your e mail is coming that way, you need to change a setting on your isp set up. Perhaps stary here...

Hi folks! My MacBook Air is making awkward little chipping sound... For no apparent reason. My Macbook Pro does the same. Goes like "chip... chip... chip", always three times in a row, for no apparent reason. Does anyone know how this occurs?
It seems to be linked to the sound being on. When I mute the thing, it doesn't do it. When I plug headphones into it, it does it over the headphones.

Everytime I open Safari I get a message that says "we're sorry but the Safari browser version you are currently using does not support the Community Toolbar." Does anyone know what this means?

My apps say they are "waiting" and they have been for days updating. They must be stuck. Not all of them but about 10 that ia am waiting on. Does anyone know what do do about this?
Just to add a couple of more things that you can try ... Along with what TMM suggested ....
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
You can also try updating from the app description page rather than the Updates Tab. Do a search for the apps that needs to be updated - when it appears in the search - tap on the app icon. Then tap on Update or Install - whatever happens to appear next to the app icon - in the description page that pops up.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. -

For some reason this stopped working on firefox a week or so ago. I have tried to uninstall and install firefox again but the problem still persists. I've tried both chrome and explorer and they don't seem to have this problem.

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. I am trying to place text in an Adobe Reader document. I have done this hundreds of times. Everytime I click on the text icon it Adobe crashes. How can I fix this.
I have also had a couple of apps do the same thing. They work once or twice then crash.

It'll likely replace the printer drivers too since some older drivers may rely on Rosetta, which Lion eliminates. Along with new drivers, you may loose printing capabilities, as I did with a legacy Epson printer. Since you're in the Mac Pro forum, if you actually have a Mac Pro, it might be wise to install an additional hard disk and run the Lion upgrade on that. Try it out and see if you actually get an improvement. If not, you've still got Leopard to retreat to and an extra disk to back up on. -

I have to admit that iTunes Match is out of my league because I do not use it. Turning that off might make the difference, but turning it off might screw everything up as well. I know very, very little about iTunes Match, but that does present a different spin on this.
Knowing the very little that I do know, with iTunes Match on - there should be no reason to sync the albums since they should be available on your iPad via Settings>iTunes and App Stores>iTunes Match>On.
Hopefully someone that uses Match will chime in. -

I hope you can help me. I've imported all my emails from Eudora into Outlook 2010 but I have a couple of problems.
All emails that I've imported which had attachments with them have a notice on them saying the attachment has been blocked. I can always browse to the folder whereb my old attachments are stored, but this is still inconvenient.
Secondly, all my messages that I've sent in the past (html) are being displayed in plain text, which is making them difficult to read because of all the html tags being displayed.
Also with emails that I've sent in the past- there is no record of any attachments being sent with messages which I know had attachments with them.
Any ideas? I've trawled google and had no luck except finding programs that cost $70 that can import everything properly.

I just "upgraded" from Eudora to Outlook 2010 ...
and have 10 years worth of HTML formatted e-mail that now shows up as plain text with embedded html formatting ...
apparently it is a long-running problem that has roots in the way Eudora formats messages ...
Outlook and other e-mail clients all seems to have issues with importing and do not properly recognize HTML-formatted messages from Eudora ... very sad that I can no longer really "read" my old e-mail at this point ... :-(

I can display a list of web app items; and the search form works on a standard page; but when I try to load it within another web app's detail page, I get an error: "page not found". This happens regarless of whether I put {module_searchresuts} on the same page as the form, or if I redirect results to another page.

Simply replace this red portion:
action="/Default.aspx?SiteSearchID=50&PageID={module_oid}"
with:
ID=/results-page.html
...results-page.html being the page you want instead.
