I cannot delete duplicate photos off my IPad 2 which were synced on my computer. I deleted duplicates from My pictures on my computer, but they were still duplicated when I added them back.

i downloaded the wal mart app for my i phone a while back. i just recently tried to use it. when it asked me to log in, i realized i did not have a user id or password.i tried to set up one and it gave me an error message stating the e-mail i was using was already linked to an account. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app.it did not give me the icon to install the app, but the cloud icon popped up.i selected it and my girlfriends name comes up on my phone with my e-meil attached. i was able to set it up with a different e-mail, but i do not like using that e-mail because im so used to using my hotmail account for everything. what do i have to do to unshare all info between our phones and i-cloud? HT204150 Mail and contacts keep hanging. As I check the iCloud settings there are multiple iCloud accounts listed in the contacts but I did not place them there. Does anyone else have this problem... I've tried to find information within the support art

I'm having a tough time working within mail... it slows as I type in contacts...The letters appear as if I am typing really slowly! When I look at the accounts listed in iCloud it appears the accounts are perserverating (listing additional accounts without my involvement!!) The iMac I am using has Mountain Lion with the most recent updates. I welcome any suggestions! Thanks

Thanks so very much... it took a while to delete all of the iCloud account duplicates. And I had to go through the process a couple of times but it seems to be working much better. One of the problems was while I was connected to the WiFi it kept trying to process all of the data for all of the accounts. So I disconnected the WiFi and deleted many that way! Thanks again!

Photos in trash can not be viewed. I have rebuilt the library but that did not help.

I need to retrieve a photo that went into Aperture trash, but no images appear in trash, though it says it has 13 versions filed there. I rebuilt the library as per trouble shooting instructions, but still no go. The rest of Apperture seems to be working fine. Any suggestions?

Have you any filters set? Check the search fields. They should be showing "Show all" or "All items".
If you are seeing "Unrated or better", rejected images will not be shown.

Looks like your syncing pics on your computer to your phone. to remove it when your phone is sync to itunes, uncheck sync in the photos tab.

turn phone off
hold home button and plug cable into phone. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on device.

I finally just resolved this after not being able to enable location services since upagrading to iOS 7. Posting the solution here 'cause I couldn't find it anywhere else.
I enabled Restrictions under Settings > General > Restrictions and created a passcode (I'm not sure if this was part of the solution, but it wasn't enabled for me by default.)
In Restrictions, under Privacy, Location Services was set to "Allow Changes" (This still didn't solve the issue of the greyed-out Location Services switch though - I still couldn't turn it on.)
Also in Restrictions, I also switched "Find My Friends" to "Allow Changes"
Once I did step 3, the switch under Settings > Privacy > Location Services was no longer greyed out and could be switched on.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go.
