HT4436 retrieve text messages

Does anyone know how to retrieve text messages that were deleted by accident today?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Assuming you have a backup that predates the point at which you deleted your text messages, you would need to restore your phone from a backup to recover those messages.

anyone know how I can retrieve text messages online (if possible) from 9-10 months ago from my iphone 5?

are these texts that were on this same phone 9 months ago? If so, you may see if you have any itunes backups from that long ago, and restore your phone from one of them

Phone died.  How do I retrieve text messages that were on phone.

Unfortunately, unless you had them backed up and stored elsewhere (like on the SD card or your computer), they most likely aren't retrievable.
Are you sure the phone is completely dead?  Have you tried holding the power and volume down buttons simultaneously for 15-20 seconds to see if that will reboot the phone?

If the phone isn't working, you can't.  If you have a backup on your computer, you may be able to extract them from the backup using 3rd party software such as iPhone Backup Extractor (see http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com).

SMS's are included in the iPhone backup, thus restoring from backup will restore your SMS's, assuming you backed up your phone with the SMS's in question still on your phone. If not part of your iPhone backup, they are gone.

  • How to retrieve text messages that I mistakenly deleted??(Please help!!)

I've had the Verizon VX8300 for 3 years since 2007 and I have upgraded to the HTC Incredible Droid and received it as a Christmas gift on Christmas morning. When my dad was disconnecting the old phone, I figured that it would be automatically transferable because everything else transferred like my contacts, voice messages, pics, etc. I was looking through old texts and accidentally deleted all of my texts that I've kept for souvenir and they were very memorable and special to me from friends/family. Now I was wondering if there's anyway I can get this data back whether it's getting a printout or using an online free trial of a text message retriever like Asfotech, Bitpim, or Wondershare Data Recovery. I've went to 3 different Verizon stores and none were helpful and didn't even bother looking at my old phone.
PS: I know you need like a court order or a subpoena but that is extremely silly and unnecessary because would I honestly need a court order just to retrieve harmless innocent messages like "What's Up?" or "How's it going, man?". Someone said that Verizon archives the messages and it's my privacy so I should have the right to get a printout of MY messages and it would be so messed up if Verizon wouldn't let someone look at their OWN text messages on their OWN phone if they deleted them on accident. It's not like they would be invading my privacy anyways all they would need to do is print them out without looking at them. I have nothing to hide anyways so it wouldn't be a big deal to me.

I understand what you are saying but whats to say for example the account owner (a parent) decided to have all the messages retrieved for them of their child who is on the account??? Verizon has NO IDEA if that person is their child, relation, boyfriend, employee..... That is why court orders are necessary.
But in your case unless the messages you want are from the last 6-10 days, they are (as Ernie Harwell used to say) "LONG GONE" from Verizon's servers.
I know the feeling of losing texts you planned to keep. A few months ago, I was playing with force closing apps and in doing so deleted a bunch I was keeping. That is why I found an app to sand messages to an email address also.

  • Is it possible to retrieve text messages if you accidentally delete the contact?

  • Could you retrieve text messages from your phone by looking on your bill?

im trying to retrieve messages that was erased off my phone after i plugged it up to my mac does anyone know?

The title of your post isn't the same as the post, so I'm a bit confused.  If you want to see the numbers being texted by phones on your account, log into your on-line MyVerizon account (assuming you are the Account Owner and logged in as such) and click the blue Usage Details.  Select the appropriate line at the top of the page (if applicable) and then under the table showing text usage, click the blue View Messaging Details.  However, texts sent/received via iMessage won't show up since they don't go through Verizon's system.
If you want texts sent to your e-mail, you should be able to forward them.  If it's another phone on your account that you're wanting those texts sent to your e-mail, there may be an app for that, but I'm not sure.  With Androids, you can get apps that back up text messages and then forward them to your e-mail; I don't know if there's a similar iPhone app or not.

  • How to retrieve text messages?

I broke my iPhone 4S recently, but just received my new one after 2 weeks. I have been getting text messages on my broken phone (screen was black but still would vibrate), and I want to read my texts. Is there any way to retrieve the messages that have not been opened, but were sent to the old phone? I have the same number, but nothing showed up when I turned on my new phone.

If you've backed up your phone via iTunes, all of your messages will still be there as of that point. You can take it to a iPhone data recovery place and have them retrieve the text messages from iPhone right now.
Hopefully you do it often and wont lose many of the new ones.

  • Retrieving text messages from old iPhone to new iPhone

Is there anyway to retreive text messages sent while my iPhone was off for a few days before I bought a new one and set it up?
My service was still on, my old phone was just water damaged.

That's a question for your carrier.... any SMS queued up should have simply been delivered to the device.

Try pulling the battery out with the device ON. Wait about a minute and put the battery back in. Let the BB completely restart and see if that doesn't help. Clears out the memory and refreshes the BB; like rebooting your pc. When you have anomalous behavior in your BB a battery pull often helps to clear it up too.
    Happy to have you here!

  • Retrieving text messages that were backed up on BB Protect

I no longer own a BB, but before I switched phones, I had backed up data using the BB Protect App. Anyone have an idea how to go about retrieving this data without needing to have a BB? Thanks!

I *think* (could be wrong) that BB Protect will send those texts and other backed up data to another BB - all I read seems to indicate that it's all BlackBerry.
