HT4623 When I download an app it doesn't request access to photos and am unable to do it after the fact as the app isn't on privacy to allow me to do it
WHen I download an app it isn't able to access my pics and I can't do it after the fact either as it isn't in privacy to add
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

Go into your account in the App Store, sign out, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.], go back to the Apps Store, sign in and try again.

Thanks Demo. i had turned on restrictions but I had totally forgotten about it. I think I had turned it on more just to see what it was, and I had never seen any app be restricted from downloading big before. I would have never figured this out as there is absolutely no indication in the App Store as to why the button is missing. Thanks!!

After I updated lion to 10.7.4, app store does not recognize my ID APPLE and it unable to connect me to app store in order to update/download apps? What have I to do? I have the same problem with mac mini e mac book air. Please help me!
Your advice did not help me. I also installed 10.7.4 combo but the situation is the same.
my internet connection is ok, mail is ok, but app store after 3 resets does not recognize my ID and it says "connection is not possible". Why? Not really sure, but when we download content from itunes, our network grinds to a stop and iTunes is the culprit. Funny thing is that iTunes is only using a small percentage of the bandwith. If we quit iTunes, all goes back to normal. But if we leave itunes running, problem persists.
We have 10mb download speed, and 500Mb takes around 4hrs. Any ideas?how old is your computer, what the ram in it?
if not the internet, it maybe the lion.
i used 2Gb mac on lion, its really slow down since upgrading to lion
i upgraded to 3Gb and things speed up a bit.
itunes still slow because its just has many heavy graphics.
i also cannot use Google Chrome for some reason, slower computer and makes my screen flickers heavily.
once i quit chrome, all works smoother. -

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not synced. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not touched with the iTunes sync process. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer which is not handled by iTunes. Most importing software includes an option to delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete. If is my understanding that some Windows import software supports importing photos from the Camera Roll, but not videos. Regardless, the import software should not delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll unless you set the app to do so.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup. If you synced your iPhone with iTunes before the videos on the Camera Roll went missing and you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since they went missing, you can try restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup. Don't sync the iPhone with iTunes again and decline the prompt to update the iPhone's backup after selecting Restore. -
Initially I had downloaded Document 2 (Free) application to view my doc, ppt and xls files. I was not able to edit the files so there was an option for upgrade the Document-2 free to paid version. I have upgraded the Document 2 application. But on my iPad now there are to application present Docemnt-2 (Free) and Document-2. I am not able to open any existing document using the upgraded version of application. How do I connect all the existing txt,PPT,XLS doccument to the new upgraded Document-2 application and then to edit it on my iPad.
As suggested I had deleted the free application and did a hard restart the iPad. I have again copied the document using iTunes. But I am not able to edit any document using this app. Document 2 (paid version) supports editing features of the txt/ xls /ppt files. Is there any problem while loading the Document 2 app. If I reload then do I need to purchase again?

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

I accidentally declined for an app to access my photos and now won't save.
I wasn't sure where to post this - first time support user so very confused!
I have recently downloaded a very helpful app for my iPhone which, like many other apps, ask for permission to access your photos etc. I accidentally declined the permission to access my camera roll and it is an app that I can make coloured notes in and save them to my camera roll. Now I cannot save the images produced in the app to my camera roll - it tells me it has saved but it hasn't - I suspect due to the permissions being unauthorised. How would I go about reauthorising this app to allow it to use my photos? I have deleted and reinstalled, hard reboot on my iPhone then reinstalled - everything.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!Settings > Privacy > Photos > toggle that app on

When you set up iCloud on a new device, you will get photos from Photo Stream (you will have to transfer them to the device), your contacts, calendars, notes, reminders and your iCloud mail address. All of this will be done automatically by iCloud when you log in iCloud on your device.

The system doesn’t recognize or capitalize the word (I) or the first word of every sentence. Another really annoying thing about the integrated mail on your Mac computers is the fact that the system learns the word as you type it more and more instead of highlighting it as incorrectly is this is a word that’s being misspelled. Can Apple fix this bug to make it user friendly as if you were using Office or a Word Document?

It’s only fair that if Apple is going to integrate Mail into Mac PCs, it would be nice if the system does it for you like Office or perhaps Outlook. I just don’t to use Outlook although I have it installed and ready to use, but instead use Mail which comes with Mac OS already.

I synced my phone to my computer. When updated with iOS7.0.2 I lost all my contacts, photos and music. I lost everything? How can i get them back? Is there any backup?
Everything should be on your computer.
You should be syncing contacts and calendars with your comptuer regularly.
You should be transferring all itunes purchases to your computer regularly.
You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly.
Most especially before any update.

So here's my problem. I just used the "reset all settings" option, and accidentaly restored an old backup. It deleted all my photos and contacts, but for some reason I still have all the apps from after the backup date,and it also kept the notes from after the backup. The "reset all settings" option clearly says no loss of data or media, so I don't understand why some stuff got deleted. My question is, is there a way to get it back?
If you still can find a recent backup listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, use this one to restore from.
If there are no recent backups listed, your data is gone. Only if you included the iTunes backup folder into your computer backup routine, you could be able to restore this folder and find one of your latest backups listed again.
