HT4918 Sharing Calendars on iCloud from an iPad2

I have iCloud activated on my iPad2 but cannot share any calendars. I am not given the options to publish or keep them private. What do I need to  to do so that I can share them?  My wife was able to share her calendars with me from her Mac. How do I do that?  Thanks.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can share calendars from iCal on the mac or from the calendar feature at iCloud.com from any computer.

  • Add Zimbra based shared calendar to iCloud?

I'm trying to add a calendar from work (Zimbra based, I don't have admin privileges, and yes it is enabled for delegation for Apple iCal CalDAV client) to my iCloud account so that it updates correctly on my iPod (because I use it like my planner). It works wonderfully with iCal on my MacBook Pro, and before I switched to iCloud, it synced just fine with my iPod. I now have my iPod set to sync with the iCloud acount, so it erased all the calendar info I previously had on my iPod.
I just re-shared the calendar from the work account to my me.com address, but all I get is an email saying that it shared. I've been looking all over the iCloud settings, "add calendar" options, and iCloud help, but cannot find a way to actually get it on to iCloud calendar (everything seems to assume you make the calendar in iCloud and share it with others).
The only thing I can think to do is possible stop syncing my calendar with iCloud and try to only update with my MacBook/iTunes... but was hoping to get it to work correctly with iCloud.
    Thanks!

You can't add shared calendars to the online view of your calendars at iCloud.com.
All you need to do is subscribe to the calendar on each of your computers and devices. Subscribed (shared) calendars do not sync through iCloud and are seperate to your iCloud account.

  • Can I create a shared calendar on iCal from the New iPad?

My company just gave out iPads for use to all field employees. My coworkers and I currently have an Outlook shared calendar that we utilize for scheduling our work. We can not access the shared calendars on our iPads, therefore I would like to create a shared calendar in iCal that we can all access for sharing our schedule as we were doing on Outlook. Is this possible?
NOTE: The idea is that I would like to use the iPad as the sole resource, instead of carrying our laptops around just to access the shared outlook calendar/schedule. The laptops are outdated junk that requires roughly 20 mins of time just to power up, connect and sign in to our servers...very inefficient.
    Thank you!

I have a bluetooth 2 keyboard from Brookstone, will it work with the iPad?

  • Hello i can not activate icloud from my ipad2 my old email address is my apple id.

i can not activate my icloud account from my ipad2 it will not verify.

ok maybe i should of worded it diferently
i curently have an apple id that i have had for years "[email protected]"  i have since signed up to icloud and i cloud emails and i selected  "[email protected]" for example! now when i try and update my original apple id  "[email protected]" with my new @me.com email address it wont allow me!
i dont want to have 2 apple id's cause all my emails assosiated with my original apple id (eg Receipts from apple) go to my old email address and not my @me.com email!

  • HT4918 Sharing files on iCloud

i was able to have clients pull their files from my iDisk in the public folder. Now with iDisk gone is there a way to have the same feature with your iCloud?

No. There is no equivalent file sharing feature in iCloud.
You'll have to look at third-party solutions such as Dropbox, box.net, SugarSync, Google Drive etc.

  • TS3999 How to sync calendars in iCloud from iPhone to iPad

I have a new iPad. I have synced my iPad/iPone to iCloud. but my calendar from my iPhone is not showing up on my iPad, or in iCloud, when I pull it up online. Please advise.

Ok, back now.  Migrating your Google calendar to your Mac is even easier than I thought.  This video will show you how to do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvFiKn_guEw&feature=player_embedded.
Once you've migrated your calendar to your Mac, if you have OS X 10.7.4 or later you can enable iCloud syncing for your calendar (as well as other data) by setting this up as shown here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.  Once you set this up on your Mac and turn Calendars syncing to On your newly imported Google calendar will import to your iCloud account, and be reflected on your phone if you have Settings>iCloud>Calendars set to On.  Before syncing doing this you should turn off syncing with your Google Calendar though as trying to sync with both iCloud and Google can create problems.
If you don't have OS X 10.7.4 or higher you'll have to sync your new calendar from your Mac to your phone using iTunes.  To do this, first go to Settings>Mail,Contacts>Calendars>Default Calendar and confirm that you have selected your iCloud calendar as your default.  Then connect your phone to iTunes on your computer, click on the name of your phone on the left side, go to the Info tab to the right, check Sync Calendars, then further down under Advanced...Replace Information on this iPhone, check Calendars.  Then click on Apply at the bottom to Sync your phone.  This will replace the calendar on your phone with the calendar on your Mac.  Once on your phone, if you have the calendar on your phone, if you have Settings>iCloud>Calendars set to On the calendar will upload to your iCloud account.  (As mentioned earlier, before syncing doing this you should turn off syncing with your Google Calendar as trying to sync with both iCloud and Google can create problems.)

  • HT4901 Shared calendars suddenly disappeared from ical and those I shared with even tho we did nothing

My client shares two icals with me. I went to add something to one and suddenly I got an alert saying they were no longer shared. Then I got an email notify. Then he called me wanting to know why I deleted his calendars. Which I did not.

    I have got same problem.
After importing the calendar user can't create new appointments.
It isnt possible to add a new appointment.

  • View private shared calendar in Outlook 2013

I use a PC with Windows 7 and Outlook 2013.  My wife use a Macbook Pro.  We both have iCloud accounts (I use iCloud 2.1.2).  Both of our calendars appear in iCloud.  We have private shared the calendars with each other.  We both received join e-mails and joined the calendars.  She can see my calendar in iCal and on her iPhone as well as her own from iCal.  I can see her calendar and my Outlook calendar on my iPhone.  I cannot see her calendar on Outlook.  The path ahead seems to be to subscribe to an Internet Calender from Outlook but there is no path to put into the Internet Calendar path enty box.  If I make her calendar public, then a path is provided and that works.  I tried removing the public access, but I don't think that the calendar is updating.  I am reticent to make her calendar public permanently; I am not comfortable with anyone knowing where my wife is at anytime.  How do I find a webcal path to a private shared calendar on iCloud?

I recommend that you post this in the Office 365 Exchange Online Forum:

  • I can't upload documents to iCloud on my ipad2

I can't upload documents in to iCloud from my Ipad2.  When I go to iCloud/iWork.com, it takes to me the iCloud set up page even though iCloud is set up and working on my iPad2.  Also - the only way I get documents that I have loaded in to iCloud to download is if I open them on my Ipad.  I can't access them on my iMac until I have accessed them on my iPad.
    Any suggestions???

I had the two accounts set up in my emails. I deleted my old MobileMe account and it's now working.

  • Shared calendars have stopped updating

I set up shared calendars in iCloud, and, at first it worked great.  My wife's calendars updated when my calendar updated and vice versa.  Now, although I get email notifications and so does she, calendar events do not populate to the shared calendars.  This worked until the last couple of days.  Any suggestions?

Actually, to update.  My 3GS still updates to both calendars.  Her iPhone 4 will not update to my calendar; only hers.  I've checked all the icloud and other settings, but cannot see any discrepancy.

  • How do I stop iCloud from sharing with other devices on my apple i.d?

My kids and I all share the one Apple i.d as they are young. I have just upgraded my iphone (to iphone 4) and I'm setting up iCloud for the first time. I have absolutely no idea how to use it.
I use my Calendar a lot, for all my appointments etc.
How do I prevent iCloud from sharing my Calendar, photos, messages, emails and everything else with my kids iphone and ipad? Some things are best kept private!
I have gone into settings, iCloud and tunred mail, calendar, contacts, photos and nearly everything to OFF. Will tha take care of the problem? Will iCloud still work on my phone then?

Yes, that should work. But let me ask one question, why do you set up your iCloud on your kids devices? If you share your Apple ID for store purchases (Apps, Music, Movies etc.) then just set it up in "Settings > iTunes & App Stores". Your kids do not need your iCloud account on their devices to get access to your media.

As for gdgmacguy, don't be so naive, of course Apple read every comment made on here, and my purpose for posting was pretty obvious, I thought I had missed the obvious ability to add attachments to typed out emails - thanks for the link to Apple feedback for the iPhone.
High ranked members of these forums are occasionally invited to town hall meetings with the wonderful Apple employees that created and manage these forums. As someone who has been able to interact with them directly I can say for certain that there is only a handful of staff. The do not spend all day reading posts and they rely on community policing. Apple does however read every submission to the feedback channel.

  • HT203521 In iOS8 I can't turn off shared iCloud calendar alerts. I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and am constantly getting their alarms for upcoming appointments. Settings- Notifications- Calendar- Shared Calendar Changes turns off changes only.

Have had new iPhone 6 for 2 months, using iOS 8.  I share iCloud calendars with 3 others and I am getting bombarded with their upcoming appointment alerts.  There seems no way to turn this off.  I went to Settings->Notifications->INCLUDE(Calendar)->Shared Calendar Changes and turned everything off, but this only blocks alerts about new events or changes to events being added to the calendars, it does not block the 5-minute/10-minute/etc. alarms that go off immediately in advance of the appointment.  There used to be a setting in iOS7 in "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" way at the bottom to turn off alarms from shared calendars, but I don't see that in iOS8.  Any ideas?

Finally figured this out when I read jodiemcneill 's post about Google calendars.  Thanks!
Reposting the basic idea: to turn off event alerts from shared ICloud calendars, select the Calendar App, then click the "info" (i.e., the circled red 'i') icon next to the shared iCloud calendar to be silenced. Go down to "Notifications" and turn the slider off for "Event Alerts: (Allow events on this calendar to display alerts.)"
For good measure, you can also turn off the slider for "Show Changes" to prevent the calendar from displaying messages when shared events are added/modified/deleted, although this can be done "globally" for all shared iCloud Calendars in Settings->Notifications->Calendar->Invitations (turn off all sliders, click "none" for Alert Style).
This has been a major pain in the ... neck ... for the past 3 months.  So glad to start the new year with a suddnely-much-quieter iPhone 6.

  • Creating item in shared calendar- it disappears when syncs with icloud!

This has been going on for weeks.  When I create a new event on a shared calendar, the edit window closes and I see my appointment listed correctly.  A few moments later, as the "updating..." line appears at the top of the screen, the event's title and time disappears and it reverts to my default calendar at a random time during the day (same date).  I could create 10 events and the moment it tries to sync to iCloud, they are all GONE!  Anyone else notice this from a shared calendar?  FWIW- it doesn't do this when I schedule directly on icloud.com, but I find the interface to be a pain in the neck to use regularly.  All suggestions welcome.
    Thanks!

To change your iCloud ID you have to delete the account, then sign in with the alternate ID.  Before doing this, if you want to keep your data and move it to the new account, go to Settings>iCloud and turn each of your synced data to Off, and when prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone.  When everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account, the sign back in with your other account ID and turn syncing back on; when prompted, choose merge.
If all your data is already in your other account then you don't need to do this.  Just delete the account from your phone, selected not to keep the data, then sign into the new account, turn on data syncing and if prompted, choose merge.
