HT4972 Why is an installation of an app asking for iOS 4.3?

Trying opening sky sky go app - just would not respond kept closing. Re-lauching the app, I was met with app requesting IOS 4.3! Any suggestion.

Backing up your current apps helps prevent this loss in the future.   Earlier iOS apps are becoming increasingly difficult to find.  You may want to look at VintApps, new in the Apple app store, that makes this much easier.

Although there are thousands of available apps to choose from, they will definitively not be the latest greatest.
I wrote my 99 cent app specifically to help solve this kind of problem.  I need to add that "I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link."

    I LOVE "remote" app and airport.
    Since i have had to restore all my ipods for various reasons, i am now no longer able to download the remote app since apple only supports iOS 5 or later. They have instantly rendered my whole apple setup useless. They are basically telling me that my purchase of their hardware was a mistake and that they only care about people who purchase new things. Which is a great reason not to purchase new things from them.
    What i don't understand is why they simply can't put a version of remote (or any app) in the app store for iOS 4.2.1. and earlier? And allow developpers to support their apps for earlier iOS. So little effort to leave 4.2.1 apps in the store. They could even create a special section based on iOS.
    Now they are forcing me to consider alternative solutions, of which there are many. I simply would never have bothered to do this before since i was so satisfied with apple products. This is a failure from a business and marketing perspective.

  • Why does my wife's calendar app ask for the password to my calendar account?

    My wife and I used to have iPhone 4's. We each have a Google calendar, and we had our calendar apps set up so that each iphone would show both calendars. We never had any trouble.
    Recently my wife and I switched to iPhone 5c's. Since then, whenever my wife tries to enter something into the calendar, the app asks for the password to my account. I don't have that problem on my phone. I'm pretty sure the phone apps are set up the same way. What gives?

    It is possible that those 2 calendars are syncing Google accounts and being shared.  My friend shares her calendar with me and it shows up in my calendar.

    for some features it wants it just say no if you don't want it to. remember apple has strict rules and dosent allow spying or anything like that.

    Hi,
    It seems to me that the installer is looking for AdobePDF.dll.
    If so, then when it asks you to insert Vista CD-ROM to find AdobePDF.dll,
    go to the AdobePDF.dll_64 in DATA1.CAB folder which is included in the Adobe install files on the disk.
    Copy the file to your system and rename it AdobePDF.dll and point the install program to that file.
    Revert in case of any issues.

    Wanted to chime in and say I'm having the same problem. Had to go back to Outlook which feels ancient. Hope Apple fixes this soon.

    When playing a podcast without a wifi access, the Podcasts app asks for celluar data access. This is even for podcasts that have already been downloaded and should not require streaming.If I do not provide cellular data access, then the podcast cannot be played.
    Is there a way to play downloaded podcasts without cellular data?

    Thank you for the answers so far, but I'll make one correction: I said earlier that the Boston Globe website, boston.com, does not have a mobile site, and I would need to visit their regular website on my iPhone. Actually, I just found out that boston.com has a mobile site, so I'd obviously use that instead of the regular site. By doing that, I'd save a ton of data (I think). Does that change your answers?

    You need to contact the carrier to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify. You may need to talk to your brother about this.

    Exactly where are you getting your Flash from? It is quite free from the maker, no password needed.

    However, if you fell for a trap and were lured into a fake site to rob you of your Apple ID credentials, I suggest you change your passwords immediately.

    The ID for apps will never change. They are locked to the Apple ID they were purchased/downloaded with. Apple ID and iTunes accounts cannot be merged, so you either delete the apps with the old ID and re-purchase/download them, or else you have to use the old Apple ID and password to update them.

    'unused' means never associated with any app...at all...for any purpose - it doesn't mean you haven't deployed the app to the store for distribution.

  • Why are all my apps asking for permission again?

    For some reason, the majority of my apps started asking for permission to use my photos, location, microphone or any other part of the system that requires permission upon first lunch. I did not do any system updates recently nor have I reset any warnings in the settings. Anybody else have this issue or know what could be causing it?

    You won't be charged for downloading free apps (or other free items), you will only get a temporary store holding charge ($1 or the approximate local equivalent) to check that the card details are correct and that the card is valid, which will disappear within a few days or so.
    But unless you used the instructions that I linked to in my previous reply when creating the account, then you won't be able to download anything (including free items) until you enter your card details.
