  • How did my iPhone auto reply to a message with "Who is this"?

    My iPhone4S auto responded to text messages today.  I didn't touch the phone and yet it replied "Who is this" three different times to incoming text messages.  When one person texted back their name, it auto responded "Jason who".  How is this possible?  I was with another person in a meeting and they saw the phone (seemingly) do this on its own as well so I know I'm not crazy.  Hope someone has heard of this.  Thanks.

    This could happen if someone else is using the same Apple ID for iMessage.  When you do this you end up getting each other's messages.  The other person's device may have received a message meant for you, then responded asking who it was, and you received the response making it appear that the response was "automatically" sent from your phone.

  • Applescript auto-reply in mail updates???

    Hi everyone!
    Some time ago I posted a question about how to get an auto-reply set up in Mail using rules and applescript. I was told there was a bug and I'm just curious does anyone know if this has been fixed in 10.5.5? I made some tests and it seems it's still an issue but I just wanted to know if anyone has any additional info?
    Thanks in advance!
    Reg

    Thanks for the reply Camelot and sorry for being vague...as reference here is a previous post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1561599&tstart=0
    I know I can send a basic auto-reply...but what I want to do is to send one using Applescript...actually it's creating a new mail message...because I want to put a bit more detail into it than I can do with the regular auto-reply such as changing the subject and adding attachments. But for some reason the handler doesn't trigger with the Applescript and it doesn't work. What I do is I use Applescript which triggers another Applescript app which creates the new message (auto-reply) that I want...but sometimes it's buggy and causes Mail to crash because it takes so long for the rule to process...hope that makes sense?
    Thanks again for your input...

  • How to extract the content of a mail message?

    Friends,,,
    How to extract the content of a mail message?
    the message does not contain any attachments or images.
    its just a plain text..
    if i use message.getContent(), in addition of the content it returns headers information also...
    but i need only the content of that message...
    if i write code like this:
    String content = (String) message.getContent();
    it gives cast exception...
    if the message contains only plain text, no multipart, then which method is useful to extract only the content?
    please tell me friends..
    thanks in advannce,
    regards,
    Venkata Naveen

    Message.getContent() does not return headers for a simple text/plain
    message. If you're getting headers, something else is wrong.
    Also, casting the result to String should work.
    Most likely the message really isn't a simple text/plain message.
    Provide more details and we'll help you figure out what you're
    doing wrong.
    Also, please read the msgshow.java demo program included with JavaMail.

    Does anyone know how to highlight text within a mac mail message?

    I can't find that option in Mac Mail's editor.  You can use a more feature rich editor like OpenOffice or Pages to create your message.  Then copy/paste into mail.

  • How do I retrieve an erased voice mail message?

    How do I retrieve an erased voice mail message?

    If you accidentally erase a voice mail message, DO NOT HANG UP.  Continue to listen to the rest of your messages and save or erase as needed.  At the end of the messages, I hope you hear a voice prompt that says, "To check erased messages, dial 19."  I did this and the erased message played again and this time I saved it!  I do not know if this will work when you hang up and call back.  Hope this works for others.

  • How to stop sending Auto Reply when I am only BCC'ed

    Hi, I am working as software developer. I am in charge of the maintenance tasks of some of our company's sites. Most of those sites are sending email notifications once a transaction/ticket is created. I have put my email address to the BCC in those email
    notifications so whenever there is an issue i have a copy of the email notification. My question is i will be out of office for some days and i need to setup an auto reply, how can i setup a rule which the OoO is being sent only when I am in the "TO"
    and "CC"? I don't need to send an OoO when i am only BCC'ed. Thanks

    In this case i won't enable Automatic Replies (Out of Office) as it will respond even when our name is in To or Cc or Bcc
    I have created a rule where it will auto reply only when my name is in To or Cc
    In Outlook, click on Tools | Rules and Alerts
    Click New Rule
    Select the radio option, Start from a Blank Rule
    Ensure the option, 'Check messages when they arrive' and click NEXT
    Select the option, 'where my name is in the To or Cc box'
    Click NEXT
    Select the option, 'have server reply using a specific message'
    In the bottom section of the Rule wizard, "Step 2: Edit the rule description", click on the link 'a specific message'
    An "untitled message' window opens, enter an appropriate subject, for example, Automatic Reply: Out Of Office, and enter appropriate text in the message body type
    Thanks for the email. I am currently Out of Office. I don’t have access to my emails.
    Click 'Save and Close' button
    Click 'NEXT'
    Click 'NEXT'
    Enter a name for the Rule in the field 'Step 1: Specify a name for this rule'
    Click 'Finish'
    Sender who sends email when you enable the rule will get a response like the below:

  • How to set uo auto reply

    How do I set up auto reply for my email?

    Sign in to your account, and then click on either Account or My Account at the top of the page. It will ask you to sign in again. That will take you to a page with tabs at the top. The one to the right is "Users and Preferences". Click on that, and it will open a page with Basic and Email settings. Click on Email settings, and look down the page to "Auto Reply". Click on the greyed out button to the right to turn it on and then follow the prompts.

  • How to Sandbox test an auto-reply e-mail from Paypal after purchase success, and send one yourself?

    Hi, I have read detail here - https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/How-to-use-PayPal-Archive/Auto-Reply/m-p/9339 ...but need to know how to test that a reply has gone out to an e-mail address after purchase, using Sandbox?   Obviously I'm using random e-mail address for buyer and business Sandbox accounts, so is there a way to force the e-mail reply to a working e-mail address to check? ----- Also, what PHP code do I need to write after ipn success/validation to send an e-mail myself to the customer? Thanks! Ash

    Whould it also be possible to send the sender the submited data (looking like the filled in form or so)?
    not really nessecary but whould be a nice  jextra
    You can but you would need to send it as an html email which is much more complicated.
    What you would do is build a page/table construction like below. You would need to use the php variables to echo out the information in the <td></td> cells (example below).
    $reply = $_POST['email'];
    $from = '[email protected]';
    $replysubject = "Auto-Reply: Website Name";
    $headers  = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n";
    $headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n";
    $headers .= "From: $from\r\nReply-to: $reply";
    $replymessage = '
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
    <title>Comments from Website</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td bgcolor="#ffffff" style="font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; padding: 10px 15px;">Name: </strong>'.$name.'
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>';
    mail($reply, $replysubject, $replymessage, $headers);

  • Rejection Applicant: How to add plain text to the mail E Mail Letter?

    Dear All:
    I'm working with a ECC6 version.
    In transaction PB60, when we do the candidate rejection activity, the E Mail letter generates a mail with empty body text, and an attachment with the letter in PDF format. The letter is OK, but I would like to know how to add some plain text to this E Mail letter. An empty mail is not a good practise.
    I searched across the forums and SAP documentation, but I could not find any clue.
    I would appreciate any help regarding to this matter.
    Best regards
    Jordi

    Here you go !  ( you need to create Text in t-code SO10 for ID = PAML " )
    Two Default texts under  ID = PAML :
    *MAIL-APP-INTERVIEW     *EN     TEXT     PAML     SYSTEM
    MAIL-APPLICANT     EN     TEXT     PAML     SYSTEM
      Personnel Management->Applicant Activities->Mail Connection ->Create standard texts for mail connection
    Create standard texts for mail connection
    In this step you can create the standard texts to be used in mails.
    Example
    u2022     Request for return of applicant file
    u2022     Notification of date of job interview
    Requirements
    u2022     You should have assigned a standard text to the activity.
    u2022     You should also have set the variables which are to be used.
    u2022     Finally, you should also have made the settings for supplying the variable with values.
    Standard settings
    The standard system contains two examples of standard texts. You can use these examples as references to help you create your own standard texts. The standard texts have the following names:
    u2022     MAIL-APPLICANT (note on an applicant activity)
    u2022     MAIL-APP-INTERVIEW (note on appointment for interview)
    Please note that the standard texts are stored under text ID PAML.
    Activities
    Now create the standard texts you require under text ID PAML.
    Further notes
    Every mail is made up of a heading and contents. In the first line of the standard text you enter the heading of the mail and from the second line on, the contents.
    The standard default settings for style and layout are used for mails.
    The SAP System treats standard texts as application data. This is why there is no automatic connection to the transport system. If you want to copy texts from one client to another within the same system, please use the functions of the transaction to create the texts. If you want to send the texts to a different system, please enter the transport manually as follows:
    PgmID   Obj     Objectname
    R3TR    TEXT   TEXT,XYZ,PAML,E
                     |    |   |   --- Language (e.g. E for English)
                     |    |   -
    Text ID (e.g. PAML for standard mails)
                     |    -
    Text name (probably not XYZ)
    Text object (TEXT ist fixed)
    Good luck

  • How to add music/ audio to text/ mms messages on iPhone 5?

    There is not a way to add audio/ music to text/mms messages similar to adding a picture.

    To a standard SMS text message, no there isn't. For MMS it would depend on what multimedia your carrier supports. For anything that is not storted in the Photo app (images, video files), you add them to the Message using the camera icon. For anything else, you would start in the app that contains the file, and use the Share function (if available). The Voice Memos app does this for example. Third party apps would vary in terms of having this feature and how it is accessed.
