Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, click on your Apple ID, clidk on Sign out. Then Sign back in with your new ID.

How to solve this?

iMessage only works with devices compatable with it. Those devices are iOS devices on iOS 5 or newer, and Macs on Mac OS 10.7 and newer. Most likely those contacts that are showing text message do not have iPhones.

HT5538 Can't activate iMessage on my iPhone 5S phone number

I recently bought an iPhone 5S about two weeks ago and I have been unable to activate iMessage for my phone number on it. I believe I have tried every troubleshoot step without success. When trying to activate iMessage I get several SMS's telling me this number received my message, but it never gets activated. Though it gets activated for my every single email address. I had it activated for my previous iPhone 4. And it's activated on my iPad 2 and MacBook Pro. Any ideas why is this happening on my iPhone 5S?
PD: My sister is also having the same activation issue on her iPhone 5S. This also happens to FaceTime activation

How to activate iMessage in Angola , UNITEL carrier

Hi,
I'm having a lot of trouble to activate iMessage on my iPhone5 in Angola.
Two weeks before I've been in South Africa using vodacom sim card. Everything worked like a charm.
When I got back to Angola, I tried to activate both iMessage and Facetime but withouth success. I got the message: activation unsuccessfull .
I can have both Facetime and iMessage associated with my email accounts. the problem is to associate my phone number.
Other friends have it working on the same carrier.
I've googled a thousand times and already tried and checked,
Automatic date time
My timezone is correct
Changed the location on appleid inside Facetime and iMessage
I can send sms messages
Restore the phone with the last update 6.1.4
my device is:
Carrier UNITEL
Country: Angola
Can somebody help? This has been very fustrating.

Since i upgarde my iPhone 5 to the latest ios 7.1.1, it doesn't work on iMessage. I've tried to follow the instruction posted by Apple but it still not work for me. It appear " iMessage unsuccessful activation" after i waiting for activation for a while. If anyone know how to get it successful please kindly share, HOW ?

I should also add: There's no pending downloads in the iTunes store on my device or App store. There are some pending downloads linked to my account, but they have been there for quite a while and have never been a problem before. Additionally, if these apps WERE the issue, I figure they would've begun to download on my device after I succesfully typed my password in.

Activate iMessage/FaceTime in non-supported countries?

Hi all,
Any one knows how to activate iMessage and FaceTime in not supported countries like Syria for example?
My device is iPhone 6 Plus and it is stuck in waiting for activation.
I've tried log in and out many times and reset my network settings but it didn't work.
any help is appreciated !

I've spent days going over forums and Apple documentation on this issue. Bottom line, if you're with Wind, you cannot activate your phone number for Message or FaceTime.
So today, I spent hours on the phone with Wind and Apple to try and get to the bottom of the issue.
I had to go through rounds of discussion to prove all remedies had been tried and failed and that this was an Apple/Wind problem that would only be solved by them working together to identify the problem and fix it.
I persisted until I finally escalated the issue to the point where Apple is "opening a ticket" to address the problem with Wind.
They said to give it a few days.
Fingers crossed....
