No need to get in touch with account security because they will only tell you what I'm about to tell you...
Just log into the appleid.apple.com website > sign in with his/her apple id > go to password and security in the left side > enter the security questions > and from there you can edit the rescue email.

Walterthere is no error message, but just a red cross right beside the serial i added, so there is just the opportunitiy to select "Demo". But I put in the right and registered serial!

My husband and I recently bought Ihones. We are trying to create Apple IDs so we can download apps. I was able to create a ID, however we only have one email address that we use so are unable to create an ID for him. Any assistance with this situation will be appreciated.

Someone else set up my iTunes account for me and I can't remember the Apple ID, the Password, or the name he put under it all. How do I get back into my iTunes account???? Or at least a number to call to get back???
Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using the alternate ID.

How have you tried to do it ? You should be able to remove the email address as being the rescue email address by logging into your account on http://appleid.apple.com, selecting the 'password and security' section of your account, and answering the two security questions - then try logging out of that site and then log back in and see if you can put that email address as your primary email address. If you can you should be able to put your current primary email address as your new rescue email address

You need to either reset the rescue email address's password(check the site's help for instructions) or ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
