Immediately after I downloaded the latest firefox security update my computer will no longer access the internet. I still have a fine wireless connection but Firefox, Internet Explorer, Itunes, and every other program will no longer access the internet, saying there is a connection error. I even tried restoring my system to a previous date but it said that a security program was preventing it from doing so.
What's the security program called? Is it '''Win 7 Security''' by any chance? There's a rogue AV app that will prevent internet access by that name. It comes in many different flavours, but it's basically the same product with different names depending on the operating system its aimed at. See screenshot.

You can use the USB drive to transfer the program to your own PC and then install it. -
I downloaded the latest iTunes software update and it properly installed. But, I cannot close the update window showing it was completed and the blue completion bar is full but cannot cancel or close it either. Any ideas on how to clear that out and close the window. Tried to quit on both the big window and the software update title in the menu bar. No luck.
Tried that by shutting down via the power button only as the normal shutdown was nixed by the open window issue. It did not help. Found a very similar question in the discussions and it recommended "Force Quit". That worked and the update works normal and the window is gone. Thanks!

I attempted to download the latest i Tunes update but somehow it all went wrong and I have ended up trying to reinstall iTunes but it does not work. I keep getting error messages-Error 7 (windows error 1114) and Runtime error-" R6034 an application has attempted to to load the runtime library incorrectly". Help what do I do now?

Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

Why can't I download the latest Photoshop CC update app?
I had no problem downloading the latest Bridge update app but I am unable to download the latest Photoshop CC update app, nor the CS6 update. I get a message saying to contact customer support.
Frammis do you receive any specific error message? If you are trying to apply an update then I would recommend reviewing the installation log files. Indeed, we kept getting requests for these from folks like you wanting to download the individual CC product updates without the AAM or Creative Cloud Desktop app, like Adobe used to supply for the older CS products...
So we put together two complete sets of downloads with all the current updates for all CC apps (and will be keeping it up-to-date going forward). Here they are and hope they help:

Remote no longer works correctly after the latest Apple TV Update

I have the latest Apple TV, purchased this year, and the update that was just released really messed things up in using a remote control. I've tried with both the original apple remote and my Harmony multi remote.
I can unpair/pair fine with either, but navigation just plain doesn't work. I press the down arrow, it may not move at all, it may scroll all the way down to the bottom of the screen, or anywhere in between. I press the select button, the icon on screen may do nothing, it may start to wiggle, or it may actually select it. Sometimes double clicking the select works as a single click.
After a lot of play around to get it to do what i want, i was able to do a full restore to factory, but that didn't change anything with the remote and now i cannot join the home sharing because the remote wont work well enough, so i can't use the iphone app.
As I said, I tried a full restore to factory, powering the Apple TV off, 2 different remotes, nothing works, help!!!!!

I have an older Apple TV, but I'm afraid to even plug that in if the update is bad.Sounds very odd - could be a hardware issue rather than software if more than 1 remote is affected. Strangely though some of my older white remotes seem to have beome very poorly responsive recently and I've replaced batteries in them only a few weeks ago, I think their keys are failing though.

First and foremost, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. On top of this, it has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at [http://www.getfirefox.com getfirefox.com].
In any case, and since you seem to be in the process of updating (you should have done so a while ago, since Firefox 2.0 has been discontinued years ago, I believe), your problems may exist because you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. I recently downloaded the most recent Camera Raw update, 8.8. Will it work with LR 4.4? My current Camera Raw plug-in does not recognize my new Canon 100-400mm lens.

No, as far as I am aware the only function that the DNG Converter performs is to convert the raw files from a supported digital camera model to a DNG file format.
This will allow you to work with the DNG files in earlier versions of Lightroom or Adobe Camera Raw that do not provide support for the particular camera model raw files. It has nothing to do with Lens profiles. -
Why is it imposable for me to download the latest ipod touch update?
i am having trouble downloading the 3/20/12 ipod touch update softwhare on my laptop, i admit its a fairly old laptop cuz i'm still running on windows XP. i wanted to know if its possable to even download the update XP? i have free gigs of space & a solid internet conection so i was wondering if thats what the problem was cuz i have never had a problem tull this download. the furthest its gottin so ar is to 330 mb but most of the time it only gets to 178 mb. i have been trying about 2-3 time a day for six days now & its starting to **** me off daily. This is the result of a security patch applied to the Hotmail/MSN email servers on April 1 of this year. This happened after Entourage X's five-year support cycle ended. Entourage 2004 works properly.

Keep in mind that Entourage X is no longer supported. Its support life-cycle has ended and it will receive no further updates. The longer you continue to use older software the more incompatible it will become as other things evolve and are updated such as the security update to Microsoft's servers.
So long as you choose to use software beyond its support life-cycle then you assume the risks and problems of using out-dated software.

Airport Extreme-won't connect after the latest Apple software update
My iBook will no longer connect to the wi-fi provider at our marina since the last two security updates to 10.3.
The iBook works just fine with all other wi-fi signals in fact pulls in one that's a half mile away! Yet, it will not connect nor show signal strength with this one wi-fi provider. They haven't changed their signal and it occured immediately after I installed the latest software updates.
When I shut down the computer today, for just a moment, a message flashed "should I grant permission to allow the marina wi-fi to connect". But it was gone before I could "click" on the button. Haven't been able to get that message again. I've tried to re-connect via "Other" and keying in the wi-fi system name and password but no luck.
How can I restore my connection to this wi-fi?

iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.3.9)I had this issue last month after upgrading Quicktime and downloading a security upgrade. For some reason (which Apple couldn't derive), the upgrades for their products screwed up my Keychain, and the only way to fix it was to reset my Keychain. Like you, I run 10.3.9, and this happened with two different upgrades on both my iBook and my iMac.
The reset process is as follows:
Go to Keychain Access in Utilities
Access Keychain First Aid (under Window menu)
Choose Options
Choose "Reset Keychain"
What a pain...I've stopped downloading upgrades from Apple until this gets resolved. Of course, that's not a good "solution" either.

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
