Html and flash website

im pretty sure this question has been frequently asked here. I have been searching high and low, from google to bing to find help with this question. Im sort of a rooky by the way. I have a website thats created fully from flash professional and been transferred over to dreamweaver. The website is fully functional on the computer but obviously its not viewable on ios mobile devices. I tried CreateJS and Swiffy but it doesnt seem to work as far as selecting url links ect. Is there any other way that i can have this site IOS compatible?

Welcome to the Forum -
Without seeing your design, I could only suggest removing the link elements from your FLA/SWF and replacing them in some form of HTML image or text links .

  • HTML and Flash

    i have been searching for help on this issue and cant seem to find an answer.  i am sure the issue is my lack of understanding.
    Basically, i have a flash (CS3) program (lobby.fla) that contains a button to load another flash file (join.swf).  i published the
    lobby.fla program and created the lobby.html program and the AC_RunActiveContent.js.  All program files are in the same directory.
    if i run lobby.fla from Flash CS3 all works as i would expect.  when i click on the join button, the join.swf is loaded.
    if i run the lobby.html program from Dreamweaver,  the join button does nothing (not even a trace statement is excuted).
    Eventually I would like to pass parameters from the lobby program to the join program but i cant get the button to work.
    if i just load the htl program in the browser this works.  but when i run the lobby.html program from within dreamweaver the botton does
    nothing.  what am i missing in the dreamweaver side of this?
    my environment is Windows XP Home, php-mysql, Dreamweaver and Flash CS3.
    thanks for any help
    teremoto

    at this stage i would take a guess.  i am at a loss.
    from my understanding i have published the lobby.fla and i have gotten a lobby.swf, lobby.html and an AC_RunActiveContent.js files.
    i have looked at the lobby.html and it seems to match with what i can find on the web searching forums for help and examples.
    so i dont think it is that but it may be i need to add something but i am not sure.  the AC_RunActiveContent.js file seems to be rather generic and
    it does not look like something i should or would modify.
    why would this work fine if i run this program outside of dreamweaver?
    i thought it would be best to use html-ajax-php-mysql to handle logins and then let flash be the main program that the user will use.
    maybe i am wrong in my design thinking.  What i am trying to accomplish is to have a page presented (with links to join specific rooms).
    the rooms will be a flash program (there is no required interaction between users who join the room...but i will need to pass a few pieces of
    data back to the main calling program where i will need to update my database).
    should my design be more where all links/buttons needed to move the user to the flash programs i want them to interact with be done outside
    of flash?  i was hoping to use flash to just pass the required parameters back to the lobby.html program and then process that data (update
    my databases) .  it just seemed easier to have a main driver program (my lobby flash program) to handle all the work as opposed to a whole bunch
    of html pages.
    i appreciate your opinion on this....i feel i maybe moving in the wrong direction in my development.
    thanks

  • Scriptable mail client with good support for html and flash

    Hi,
    on one hand I'm looking for the uzbl/luakit/.. equivalent in the mail client world: I want a very high level of control over how mails are fetched, filtered, displayed, scripts, keybinds, etc etc.
    On the other hand I also want the client to handle html mails properly, even when they include html5 sound/video clips and/or flash widgets/videos.
    This might sound ironic, but I use rss2email to get all my newsfeeds delivered to my mailbox.  I think this makes a lot of sense, a centralized repository for all the messages I want to get.
    But those newsposts often contain html5 and flash widgets, which I want to be able to use from inside the mailclient.
    Also I expect usage of the xdg basedir spec and sane use of files (a simple text config file, and maximum a few binary files for caches/indexes etc)
    A good search system based on sup/notmuch/xapian would also be welcome.
    I just can't find a mail client like this.  Any suggestions?  Maybe anything that's close, so I could hack it a bit myself?
    Claws-mail is the least sucky client I could find, but still it doesn't give me the advanced scriptability, it makes a mess in my homedir and doesn't support html5/flash.

    Thid may take you a bit away from your current setup, but if you have used sup you shouldn't be too scared ;D
    Ive started using mutt a while back, and if properly configured it can do a _lot_ of things and very well at that too!
    Anyway, to answer your post:
    1) Mutt can be configured to retieve your rss feeds, so you dont need to use rss2email and still get a centralilsed repo for your email and rss and, you will be able to keep your email account uncluttered with rss mail (but thats personal preference).
    2) Intrinsically, like all CLI mail clients, butt doesnt show html/html5 or embedded flash in email. /BUT/ you can configure it to use a differen program to handle this automatically.
    So, you will be able to get say uzbl, or jumanji or surf (if you're into your lightweight browsers) to open those multimedia emails. Edit: it seems you will probably have to use links2, but you may be able to use other clients (they will have to open as a seperate application though, whilst links2 is able to stay embedded. Maybe this can be done with the other browsers but I haven't tried nor researched this.
    Generally as: (in .muttrc)
    # enriched messages
    auto_view text/html # view html automatically
    alternative_order text/plain text/enriched text/html # but save it for last
    Credit for that snippet goes to something i found on dotfiles. If I ever find the author's name, I shall edit it in here.
    You will also need to create a .mailcap file with the relevant data. A basic google search reveals some good tutorials for this.

  • Fan and flash website?

    Hi there,
    I am just wondering if your Imac G5 PPC's fan runs at full speed when you vist flash websites? Is it normal?
    CPU temperature = 67 degrees
    Hard drive temperature = 58 degrees
    Fan speed
    CPU = 4446 rpm
    System = 2453
    Harddrive = 2615
    Please advice

    I have an imac G5 with 1 gig of ram. When my daughter visits a flash website the cpu fan will ramp up to +5000 rpm. Apple has already replaced the logic board and the power supply. During those repairs I was told the fan noise was normal. The fans can get so loud that I can hear them over 30 feet away. Very loud.
    I also have a Macbook Core Duo 2gh with 512 meg of ram.That laptop will never make a sound except for the dvd sound when watching a dvd. No fan noise, no high ramps on the fans, nothing.
    I have read that placing a piece of foam insulation on the cpu fan housing will reduce the noise as it may be due to vibration of the fan and/or fan housing.

  • HTML and Flash overlap Issue

    Hi, i am making a game, in which, i need to show and hide
    HTML content with Flash event. but want to purly hide and
    deactivate the HTML links.
    Basically i have made such application through hiding div
    parameter. but after hiding that HTML area... It will overlap on
    Flash content. and because of that i am unable to access Flash
    textbox or buttons.
    So what is the best way to hide HTML content after event
    generate from Flash.
    I have done with External Interface, div hiding through
    javascript.

    Problem is solved by following Method:
    function showhideTab(val){
    var ban = document.getElementById("main");
    if(ban == null)
    alert ( "Sorry can't find your div" );
    return;
    if(val == true) {
    ban.style.display="block";
    } else {
    ban.style.display="none";
    }

  • CFML/HTML and flash

    Hello,
    Ok, here’s what’s going on - I have a CFML Tag
    that displays a number from my Database. I want to get flash to be
    able to read this number using embedded HTML. However, I can't find
    a tutorial in Google I may be searching for the wrong thing.
    Anybody know a tutorial and or code that could help me?
    Many Thanks, Look forward to a response.

    Set a CF variable, then pass it to your Flash movie using
    either the Flashvars param (or a URL variable when calling the SWF)
    in the HTML object/embed tags. Here's the LiveDocs on using
    FlashVars:

    Hope that helps!

  • How do I add an html link/banner to a page in my flash website?

    I purchased a flash website template and am in the process of editing my main.fla file.  In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site.  However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses.  If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.  Please help!

    Flash only supports a small amount of html in text areas.  If what you re trying to include is within what it supports, then you assign the text to the textfield using the htmlText property of the TextField...
    tfield.htmlText = "<a href="...">link</a>"; // will display "link" as a link

  • Have reset Firefox & completed all of steps in "Flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites", but video still won't work. Help!

    I have reset Firefox, completed all the steps in "flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites". And the video still won't play in full screen. It will play, but frequently stops or sound continues and picture freezes. I have noticed that if I continually move my mouse, it plays fine. All these videos play fine in IE and Chrome.

    Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
    To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
    #Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
    #Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
    #Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
    This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
    Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • FF 4 (mac) doesn't display handcursor in all Flash websites. Also all html websites show strange behaviour with cursor. (blinking cursor in nearby div after clicking a button)

    I'm running Mac OS 10.6
    FF4 doesn't display the hand cursor or type cursor in '''all''' flash websites on links/textfieldss when it should. Highly annoying and disgracing all flashcontent.
    Also with html websites I experienced strange cursor behaviour with FF4. Although it's hard to reproduce the problem. It's very inconsistent.
    I have the feeling in general FF4 should look into it's cursor behaviour on all possible platforms. Mainly Flash.

    I replicated the typing cursor problem on the popular FB. Just click e.g. "x people like this", you'll see you get a blinking type cursor in the "close" button.

  • Flash website I created is loading too slow and don't know how to put in preloader.

    I have 4 swf files.  The index.html page is a flash swf that I renamed to index.html in order for it to the be first page to come out.
    I have googled how to add a preloader but it's all too confusing, and I'm not sure if I should add it to the first swf that I renamed index.html.
    The website that I created for the company is loading way too slow.
    I've deleted unused files.
    I've compressed the images the best way I could.
    I cannot change the images, because it's the whole purpose of the design.
    Any other options of loading this website any faster other than changing the design, and putting it into Dreamweaver?
    And where do I add the preloader after I made it? The first fla file?
    Thanks.

    If by "converted" you mean that you've converted the trailer to a normal project using the menu option File>Convert to Project, then YES it is still possible to edit the Credits Title.
    In the converted project, double-click on the blue Title bar that sits above the background clip. In the Viewer, double-click on the text you wish to change (or highlight text by dragging over it). Now you can replace the highlighted text by typing in the new text. You can also change fonts and font colours.
    It's always good practice to duplicate the Trailer before converting it. To do this, while in Project Library view, click on the Trailer name in the Library then select File>Duplicate Project. A copy will appear in the Library with the same name as the Trailer, but with the number 1 appended. You can rename this copy as desired. Now, convert the duplicate to a standard project and continue with your editing as required. You now have the original Trailer in template form (which can be further edited), and can duplicate it again if required.

    EDIT: Regarding my first sentence - just noticed that you did mention "converting it to a project" in you topic header. Sorry!

  • How do I create a full 100% flash website with no html coding???

    Hi i really need some help. I am very very curious of how
    some of the websites are being created 100% in flash. No matter
    where I view it, no matter whether the window is maximum 100%, it
    will be showing a very dynamic flash site.For example, the former
    macromedia official site.
    I have lost some of the cool examples i have seen. Here is a
    similar site but it is not 100% flash site.
    http://www.fordvehicles.com/?referrer=http%3A%2F%2FWWW%2EFord%2Ecom

    my site (www.mudbubble.com) does what i think you are
    asking....
    Basically I use this code in 1st frame of movie:
    Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
    Stage.align = "TM";
    Then in publish settings i set the width and height to 100%.
    This forces the swf to scale to
    whatever browser size yet the code on frame 1 does not allow
    the stage contents to scale.

    I'm on an language educational website that is powered by Adobe Flash. There is a feature on the site where you talk, and the website's microphone records you. Unfortunately, I get an "Adobe Flash Player Settings" module when opening it, and I'm unable to click the allow button-or anything on the screen. Help? Below is a screenshot.
    This question was archived but I was having the same problem but was able to fine the solution.

    You go to the link below

    1. Select Global Security Settings
    2. Select Always ask

  • Can you code a link between html and a particular flash page?

    Hi,
    I hope this question is not too confusing. I am designing a website in flash CS3 using Action script 2.0 not 3.0 and Flash Player 8. The architecture I used is as follows:  I have a menu/main page which loads the swf files of other flash pages.  I have a particular flash chatroom page which is loaded by the main page that I would like to be able to link an web address (example ... www.chatroom.com) directly too that particular sub flash page ... rather than going to the main.swf which is what the original web address uses.  (I hope your following me).
    Technically I know I could link a web address to the chatroom.swf file, but then it would estetically look incomplete since the theme/design of the website is in the main.swf which calls the chatroom.swf.
    Thus my question is: is there a way to assign the web address to  the chatroom.swf inside the main.swf. I would like to go directly to the chatroom without clicking chatroom on the main.swf menu.  I do not know enough Actionscript 2.0 to know if this is possible. I did try to search for the answer but could not find it.  If it is possible what script would I need?  If it is not possible, any other ideas to get the same effect?
    As always, thank you for your help.

    I just wanted to clarify how the main page links to the subsequest pages when I said it loads the swf file.  The links in the actual menu code are fla files.
    (on release) {
    _root.toLoad = 'chatroom'
    _root.con.play(_currentframe+1);
    Then I must publish the files to make swf files for each page which will be loaded into the main menu.
    I hope that gives insight to my thinking and helps you answer my question.

  • Can I make a website with just using Photoshop and Flash together?

    I am new to web design and am working on a website. I have not purchased dreamweaver, but am familiar with it from school. I do have Adobe Flash and Photoshop extended. Can I just use the two programs Adobe Flash, and Photoshop extended to complete a website without having Dreamweaver or do I need Dreamweaver to make it work? Thank you for your responses.

    You can import photoshop files into a flash project and build a website that way.  Both Catalyst and Flash can output the markup necessary to make your flash website usable.  As a developer though I try to steer people away from entire flash websites since they wont be usable on Apple Mobile and Tablet Devices.  Youll need to read up on optimizing a flash sites SEO, this can only partially be done through flash.  A text editer may be required to create additional files for your website.  Good Luck!
