HTML Banner for Native Android App Builder

In the release notes it says
The HTML banner in the library has limited available APIs.
I don't even see a place in the app builder to define a banner.
We called Gold Support and they don't know anything about the new Native App Builder.
Thanks,
Darrin

I know that with Android the subscriptions are not supported but a header banner (static - no action linked) is important to see!
Client want a branded viewer - now is very poor!
Are there some news about this? Now i'm working with the new native Android app and i see that in the web builder (works very well!) there is not a field to upload a png. V31, V32?

  • Problem with native android app builder

    Hello.
    I have tested the new DPS web app builder. The functionality is very good and simple. After I have signing up the app, I would like to upload it in Google Play Store.
    After the upload I get an error message:
    I understood it so:
    It is not possible that the new version number is lower than the previous.
    I have tested multiple settings in the DPS web app builder, but the first digit (number) is never over 5.
    It is always the wrong version code.
    What can I do? Please help me.

    It looks like the existing app you have in the store has an upgrade version code of 3000000 (I hope I got all the zeros right!). You need to set your upgrade version field in the new app builder to something higher than that, like 3000001.

    Can you build native android apps also with DPS single edition or only with enterprise edition?

    Thank you for your reply, Bob!
    I've forgotten to ask the most important thing: This also stays that way for DPS V30?

  • Dreamweaver and PhoneGap: How to Edit the Application Manifest for an Android app

    I successfully created an Android app using dreamweaver cs6 and the PhoneGap build service.  I submitted the app and it is live in Google Play.  The only problem is that the app is requiring all kinds of permissions from users that are not necessary for the app.  The app requires Internet access, but it does not require access to the camera or the user's contacts, etc.  I understand that this information is held in the Application Manifest file, but I don't know where that file is.
    Can you help me figure out how to edit the Application Manifest file for my android app?
    Thanks,
    Michael

    To edit permissions, you do so in the config.xml file. After making changes, you can directly upload on build.phonegap.com or from within Dreamweaver.
    See this page for info on customizing config.xml: https://build.phonegap.com/docs/config-xml#features

  • I can't create a native android app with 2560x1600 rendition. I only see the 2048x1536 and 1024x768 option in the web native Android application ?

    Hello All,
    i ve created a native android app. I need to publish on a 2560x1600 android tab. the problem is that in my library i have my 2048x1536 and 1024x768 ipad version.
    I know that when i create my native Android app i should be able to chose my rendition in only 2560x1600 but in the Library Tab of de web android native app builder I only see the 2048x1536 and 1024x768 option.
    Please do you have an idea ?
    TX

    The dropdown only lists the folio sizes you have published in your app's publication account. Make sure you've actually published a 2560x1600 folio and then you'll be able to select it from the dropdown.

  • Renditions or Single Folio for Native Android?

    I am not sure what the best strategy is for native Android folios. Should I build a single folio at 1280x800 or renditions at 1280x800, 1920x1200, and 2560x1600 as described in Digital Publishing Suite Help | Setting up renditions for native Android viewers?
    Do I need three sizes of graphics (as describe in the Android developers docs) if I use the renditions?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    It doesn't matter what size graphics you use. We will resample them to 108ppi for the folio size you pick. 1280x800 is a fine size to use for Android.

  • Creating Help for Iphone/Android app

    I need to create help for an iPhone and Android app using RoboHelp 10.
    Which option do I choose for a New Project: Blank Project or Application Help?
    And, which output do I choose under "File > Generate"? I see an option for "Native Mobile App." But, I'm not seeing a "Multiscreen HTML5" option.
    Which file do I give the developer?
    Thanks for your help!

    That's a pretty big question and you haven't given us any clues such as which version of RoboHelp you are using and whether it is just this form of help that is new to you or help in general.
    It doesn't really matter whether you choose Blank Project or Application Help as they are just starters with different default topics and you will be trashing them anyway. For now let's say start with Blank Project and create your topics. You do need to keep in mind they will be viewed on various devices. More about that later.
    When that is done you start thinking about creating a suitable output. Multiscreen HTML5 is the output in RoboHelp 10. RoboHelp 11 was released today and that has a new output, Responsive HTML5. That is simpler, especially first time out. Both of those types are intended for use where they will be viewed via a browser, be that on a desktop or a mobile device.
    It is not clear whether you want your company's app to access help in that way or whether the need is for the help to be an app in its own right. The latter adds another layer of learning. Essentially after creating an HTML5 output, you use the script to create an app. From the questions you ask, I suspect you will need developer assistance with that.
    Start by viewing my page at http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/html5/html5.htm where you can download a project with information inside, include some ideas about how to write content.

    Everything runs smoothly except for several Android Apps dwnloaded from Snap or Onemobile.  They work perfectly fine over WiFi but not at all over Data.  Does anyone know why or if there is a solution? It's pretty frustrating.
    Examples include, NetFlix, MyFitnesspal, Amazon Price Check Urbanspoon, etc.
    Thanks for any replies.

  • How to switch from legacy to native Android app with minimal interruption

    It's gotten to the point where I'm recommending that my client switch their DPS app for Android from legacy to native. Can anyone offer any insight into the process of changing that over for an existing app? Most of the Adobe support documents are written for starting a new app in native format. I need to give the client an idea of how the transition will affect existing subscribers on the Android platform (i.e. will they need to download a new app, or will it work as an update) and what we can do to retain readers if they do need to download an entirely new app.
    Complicating the situation is that the client likely will want to keep the legacy app as long as we can to continue offering it on Amazon, because Kindle devices account for 60 percent of our non-iOS downloads.
    Thank you!

    To replace the existing legacy viewer, simply use the same Bundle ID used in the legacy app when you build the native Android viewer, and then submit the app as a new version in the Google Play Developer Portal. To locate the Bundle ID for the legacy viewer, open the desktop version of DPS App Builder and look at the list of apps. It might include a .air prefix, depending on when the app was built. If it does, use the .air prefix when you specify the Bundle ID for the native viewer, even though it's not an AIR app. The Bundle ID just needs to be the same. If you want two separate apps--which I don't recommend--use a different Bundle ID and submit it in the Developer Portal as a new app.
    The Amazon app is a different app that's unrelated to the Google Play app. You can continue to leave the app in the Amazon Appstore.

  • How do I change the Version Code in the Flash Android settings for the Android app Market?

    I recently tried to update my app in the Android app market and when I uploaded it I got the following message:
    "The new apk's versionCode (1000000) already exists."
    In the Flash Adnroid settings I changed the version label but that did not help.
    So I have two questions:
    How do I change the Version code in the Flash Android settings? I changed the version number and version label but that did not work.
    What is the difference between the version number and version label?

    I tried that but it did not work. Apparently there is a difference between the version code and version number (which is set in the Android settings). From my research the version label is optional, so there are no problems there.
    This is the what the XML file says:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?>
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.6">
      <id>com.company.nameofapp</id>
    //Below is the correct version number, but has no relation to the version code.
      <versionNumber>1.1.0</versionNumber>
      <versionLabel>NewLayout</versionLabel>
      <filename>Name of app</filename>
      <description/>
    I did find this piece of information for Androin version codes. (http://developer.android.com/guide/publishing/versioning.html)  But I don't know how to place it into the xml file without conflicting with other code.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
          package="com.example.package.name"
          android:versionCode="2"
          android:versionName="1.1">
        <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name">
        </application>
    </manifest>
    Any other thoughts are much appreciated.

  • Support for native packaged apps?

    Hi,
    I'm looking to incorporate some Native Process functionality into my app, which means I'll be deploying EXE, DMG, and possibly RPM version of the application.
    Is there anyway that Melrose can facilitate this in it's current state? Looking at the developer panel, it doesn't seem so...

    That helps alot, I'll now have to re-think my business model as obviously InMarket is not the place I can be if I want to develop cutting edge AIR applications. I truly appreciate the timeframe though, it gives me some solid info I can plan around.
    I'm not sure I agree with the direction entirely, I think the monetization opportunities go down 10-fold by not allowing use of the Native API's in 2.0.
    With the native process API's the variety of application's we could build in AIR expanded exponentially, suddenly we can take advantage of thousands of pre-existing native processes to do all kinds of things that AIR can't do natively. The possibilities are endless.
    So, while you are focusing on reaching into new markets, you're limiting AIR apps to be simplistic in nature, and quite limited in functionality. Not to mention, it's a poor message to developers: Here's this API we released, but it will be 18mths+ before we will actually support it in our own storefront.
    I'm not really sure what one has to do with the other as well. Mobile/Tabled and TV's will obviously not support Native Process anyways, so I don't see how adding support for native apps in Desktop storefronts, should really affect the partnerships / development of these other storefronts.
    It seems you guys are overthinking things. Start with getting the simple/basic stuff working properly, then you can conquer the world

  • Settings for Native Mobile App

    I'm using RoboHelp 11 to generate a native mobile app for Android.
    In the Generate Native Mobile App dialog box, I've downloaded PhoneGap, Android SDK, JDK, and Apache Ant. I've then used paths that I think would work. Here's a screen shot:
    When I attempt to generate the file, I see an error (below).
    Can you please recommend the exact path? I've looked at your documentation(Adobe RoboHelp 11 * Generate a native mobile app) and Tom Aldous's YouTube video (How To Create Android App From Your Training and Technical Manuals - YouTube). Does it matter where I download the files? Is RoboHelp 11 just compatible with certain versions of these downloads?

    @Robert I am working with someone else who is having problems. I produced some instructions for Rh10 that got things working for myself and others. The difference between 10 and 11 is that 10 required some system variables to be set whereas 11 sets the necessary paths when generating the app. Thus it is likely your problems are related to the various installations. Given where you have located them, it is not possible for me to read them. I put each app (except Java) directly off the C drive.
    To the best of my knowledge, the only app that is version specific is PhoneGap which must be 2.9.0 and that is what you have.
    First try moving the apps and generating outside your profile. This is my setup from 10 but 11 is the same as far as this part is concerned.
    See where that gets you.
    @Rick Apps are great for Knowledge Bases. As far as OLH is concerned, there are some usability issues if people don't know how to switch between apps.

  • Native android app insallation

    I habe create an android native app.i have download the DPS App Signing Tool and i have succesfully signed the app , so i got a new .apk file named "unsigned-viewer-google_play-signed.apk".
    I used that app to test my app and make the submission on the store.My question is that on my DPS APP BUILDER console on the downloads section it still says unsigned app, and there is no other column next to that..Is that ok, or i have missed something??

    When you download the app from App Builder, it's unsigned. Then you use the signing tool to sign the app, and that new signed .apk file is the one you submit to Google Play.
    After I sign the app, I like to edit the name to something like DPS_Tips_signed.apk so that it doesn't have both "unsigned" and "signed" in the filename.
