HTML coding in EMOD

Three questions:
1. Is there an issue with having too much code in EMOD? for the past two days, I've put code in, it shows up in the preview but when I save, it disappears. I put in a help ticket but haven't hear back.
2. Does EMOD not support map html code? I have a jpg in the body of the email that I'd like a specific URL to be assigned depending on where they click on the jpg.
3. On my accounts I have a record for the logo (a URL to the hosting library) and the website. I try to insert those two fields and they don't pull in properly. The image comes up blank (I put the logo field in the image source) and the website as an href in the coding...
I'd appreciate any help, I'm getting quite frustrated!

I think I worded #3 wrong. There are two fields I have on every account. The first is a logo field which contains the link to the specific dealer logo for that account. The link ties to the hosting image library in EMOD. Based on that field, I want that specific jpg image to appear in the body of the email.
The second field is for the dealer website. I have an image in the body of the email that says click here to contact your dealer. I want the website listed on the record to appear on that image based on the information in the account record.
Does that make sense and/or are they possible?

Thanks so much, Rick! That post was exactly what I needed -- and now I have another resource to search for next time.
There is one little caveat, for anyone else who needs to use this. I had to change the line that sets the Content-Type header to use a semicolon instead of a comma. After this change, the resulting HTTP request is identical to the one generated by WebKit for form submission.

How to check the properties or the source file or the HTML coding of any particular link on the web page?

Earlier when I wanted to see the HTML coding of any link on the web page, I was able to see it but now I am not able to do that. Like earlier I used to right click on the link and there was an option of "View Properties" through which I was able to view it but now no such option is coming. Can you please help me out with this as I am facing many Problems?

has no effect.

you would have to iterate through the elements of the HTMLDocument in the JEditorPane and look for the HTML tags you are interested in. Once a tag is found its AttributeSet will have the content. I am too lazy to post how it is done again. There are tons of postings in the forum about the topic, so by simply using the search function you should find respective hints.

Problem Viewing HTML coded website in design view

Hello,
I've got a functional website I coded (using an html text editor) for a customer some time back that he wants to be able to edit. He doesn't know code, so we got Dreamweaver.
The problem is, a lot of page elements simply won't show up in the Design view (though they do when viewed in a browser). I suspect it may have something to do with older nested Table tags I used, but neither of us is very interested in me rebuilding the site from scratch (which is largely what we were trying to avoid).
The extra odd thing, though, is a lot of the code in question DOES display on the index page, but not on secondary pages, even though it was copy/pasted in the first place.
The website in question is http://ckski.com. The index page shows up fine. (http://ckski.com/Pictures/GoodPage.jpg) On secondary pages, the only thing that shows up in the Design view is the banner image at the top of the page. I get a gridline for the main table structure, but no content (only some errors indicating some extra </td> and </tr> closing tags) (http://ckski.com/Pictures/BadPage.jpg)
View Source should work to check the code, but I can provide anything else that might be needed, such as the CSS page.

Code errors are responsible for 98% of rendering problems. Your pages lack a valid doc type declaration which puts them into quirks mode.
On line #1 in code view, change this:
     <html>
to this:

At least that will give you a fighting chance of validating without errors. Use the online code validator below to check for other errors in all your site pages.

Incidentally, asking a non-coder to use Dreamweaver is form of punishment.   Basic coding skills are necessary to get the most out of this product.   Anything less is going to result in frustration and confusion.
It's worth noting that DW is NOT a WYSIWYG editor. Design View is at best, an approximation of what you can expect to see in some browsers. For best results, use Live View in Split View and edit the code.

When a html coded page requires the Windows Symbol font, Firefox does not call it, and the English alphabet characters display instead. How can I get the Symbol font to work when the page is loaded in Firefox??

This site shows Greek letters and Greek words by calling for the Windows Symbol font. The page(s) involved display correctly in Internet Explorer, but not in Firefox 3.6.1 or 8.1. In Firefox, the Greek letter does not appear, it is just replaced with the English letter for the equivalent keystroke. Here is a html line that ought to cause Symbol's Greek letter lowercase alpha to be displayed, but all you get is an "a" :

Reemphasizing, the page code works on Internet Explorer. It does _not_ work with Firefox ver 3.6.1 nor ver 8.0.1 (which I upgraded to, to see if that would solve the problem). The MDC FAQ solution is not a solution, because it forces the html coder to change his language just to accommodate Firefox. Firefox needs to change to conform to standards.

I think Firefox wants you to use _its_ font faces, not the standard Windows fonts. They do not have a Symbol font to replace the Windows TTF, I guess.

Issues with writing html coding and how safari interprets it

I have been having a frustrating 24 hours with my basically brand new iMac.
I have just started a course in web design and just doing a basic html unit. When I put the following in Textedit it comes up very strangely.

The h1 isnt centered, isn't in the correct font and comes up as green!
I have tried using other text editors like the Notepad App in the App Store and Textwrangler with the same result. Then I thought I would try a different browser and downloaded Firefox with the same result.
The frustrating this is that if I type out this html in Notepad on my Windows machine and open in IE it works perfectly.
I just did an experiment and emailed the html doc to my windows machine and tried to open in Notepad and it came up very strangely.
I have looked at other posts and changed around preferences in TextEdit.
I hope someone can help - this is really doing my head in that I can't even do the most simple task on my brand new computer!

Seriously, I've programmed all my adult life working in Unix until I switched to OS X. I've been through the complete range of editors starting with ed to vi to emacs with a bit of teco thrown in.
When I switched over to OS X I tried using TextEdit, trying to stay with all the native Apple tools and just found it to limiting for programming.
While I was able to get it to be a plain editor and not throw in things I didn;t want in my files or change things in the files behind my back it never had the 'right feel' or the power I was looking for.
I think if you're doing text TextEdit is fine but for programming tasks it's to limited. And why would you not want to use the best tool (or at least a better tool) for the job if it will make the job easier?
No, for the user doing some programming and system work (looking at plist files and such) TextWrangler is the way to go. Good power and expandability but fairly easy to use for a new or casual user.

HTML Coding issues with Firefox

Im currently doing a website for one of my clients, but ive stumbled upon a problem Im hoping you guys help me solve.
The website im creating is being done from scratch in semantic html for html5 and css3 validation. Sizes of all boxes are being stablished in "em" (16px=1em) as it´ll be a responsive website. The width for my website is of 1060px or 66.25em, in other browsers i see it working ok (Chrome, IE), but in Firefox when the value is stated in "em", all boxes appear to be smaller, like 5% or 8% total. When I replace the value to the one in pixels it displays them still smaller but now moved to the left, like 5% or 8% to the left.
I'm not using any type of kits for this website as it is being done from zero to accomodate our customer's needs.
My question regarding that is to know if the "em" value has been modified in recent versions of the browser or if I need some type of mozkit to have the values recognized as they should in standard sizes.

I know, it's been really odd. Whenever I'm creating a site I always take into account how it behaves in Firefox since Chrome and IE let too many things go unnoticed or let them pass without a single error in the console.
Funny thing is this is a first Ive encountered, and my browser had just updated itself to the version 24, so I thought maybe they changed something in it that may be conflicting with my site. In my desperation (the deadline for the site), Ive tried many things and the last one I thought might work was changing the percentage; but i recalled a problem I had several months ago with another site where Firefox and IE respected the margin: 0 and padding: 0 but Chrome kept getting heritage from somewhere we couldnt pinpoint since there were no errors but everything was scrambled.
It was a site we were asked to update, so it wasnt ours from the beginning, hence the difficulty pinpointing the heritage but no consoles showed it. Finally someone thought of changing the percentage of the parent one and it solved it, to be honest with you I still dont know what happened to tht one, but I thought maybe it could apply in this scenario, apparently it did.

HTML Coding Issues with Dynamic Sites

I am trying to create a button using the sliding doors technique and I think I have the correct css, but the issue comes with the HTML.
Here is the CSS:

It might be an add-on that is misbehaving. You can try disabling add-ons individually to see which one is responsible. You can also reset Firefox, while keeping your personalized data, like history, bookmarks, passwords, etc: [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]

Hi Prem, my requirement is this: i have to display the names of the client (users) in the portal on their birthday.And there are around 2000 users. So i have to display there name as happy birthday: to X,Y,Z
so it should be like :

Firefox 4 on Windows 7/XP is not allowing user interaction with form elements that contain HTML coding. For instance, a textarea element whose content includes h4 My Content /h4 br /

The user content begins after the <textarea> element and includes HTML headers, breaks, etc. Other HTML content inside form elements gave similar results. Thanks!

Use Regex package to solve HTML coding

I have got around 1000 HTML files. Now suddenly the contents within the <body> and </body> tags needs to be changed. Please suggest what will be the regular expression for doing the same using the java.util.regex package

What do you mean by "the same"? What shall be replaced? Everything within the body tag? Show us what you got so far, and someone may have an opinion.

I'm not an expert at all - but thee look like additions to the Context menu to allow the user turn on or off repeated texts in the web item.
