HTML dynamic content email bursting (no attachment)

Hello,
Could you please advise if the below scenario is feasible using BI Publisher:
An email need to be bursted. This email should have an html template in it (with some dynamic values, like name, etc. - "Dear X,"). This html template should include some images and a very specific format.
There has to be no attachment - the only place with dynamic fields should be an email body formatted as a specific template (html).
I've done some investigation on the web and metalink so I know I can specify the body content (parameter 6) and even a dynamic one.
Can I include HTML tags/HTML template as the email body?
Could anyone please advise?
Thanks,
Michal

We're using BIP Release 10.1.3.4

I am assuming, you are using bursting from Enterprise Release. First try file delivery. If it works fine, then make sure you set the delivery SQL setting properly. You can validate from the following mapping.
KEY
TEMPLATE_FORMAT
TEMPLATE
LOCALE
OUTPUT_FORMAT
DEL_CHANNEL=>     EMAIL
PARAMETER1 =>     To Email address
PARAMETER2 =>     Cc Email address
PARAMETER3 =>     From
PARAMETER4 =>     Subject
PARAMETER5 =>     Message Body
PARAMETER6 =>     Attachment (true/false)
PARAMETER7 =>     Reply-to

  • Email bursting without attachment

    Dear all,
    while using email bursting to send out bi report, we have to provide a sql. my sql statement is here:
    select distinct
    Operation."Market Director (MD)" KEY,
    'Standard' TEMPLATE,
    'RTF' TEMPLATE_FORMAT,
    'en-US' LOCALE,
    'PDF' OUTPUT_FORMAT,
    'EMAIL' DEL_CHANNEL,
    Operation.EMAIL PARAMETER1,
    '[email protected]' PARAMETER2,
    '[email protected]'PARAMETER3,
    'Your Invoices' PARAMETER4,
    'Hi' PARAMETER5,
    'true' PARAMETER6,
    '[email protected]' PARAMETER7
    from "BE Daily Sales FnP Cost Analysis".Operation
    However, I did not receive any PDF attachment with only the email file output.
    Anyone knows how I can solve this problem? It is urgent!
    Thanks a lot ~!

    You can do it by scripting your own submit button.
    So use a regular button and put the following on the click event of the button. The operators can point to field rawValues instead of hard coding the values (cTo, cCC, cSubject, cMsg).
    var oDoc = event.target;
    oDoc.mailDoc({
    bUI: true,
    cTo: "[email protected]",
    cCC: "[email protected]",
    cSubject: "This is my email subject",
    cMsg: "This is my email message"

  • Email bursting send report as HTML in email body

    Hello,
    I have Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1 (build# 1101) version installed as part of Oracle Business Inteligence.
    I have question about email bursting. I created simple report and I am bursting it via email. But I would like to send report in HTML as part of email body and not as attachment. I read that it is possible in other versions of BIP (as part of EBS) with using of bursting configuration file. But I can not use this file with my version of BIP, I can configure bursting only vie SQL query.
    Is there any solution?
    Thank you

    My bursting SQL query:
    SELECT DISTINCT
    ip.APPL_ID KEY,
    '11F_Search_Prospect_Email' TEMPLATE,
    'RTF' template_format,
    'en-US' locale,
    'HTML' output_format,
    'EMAIL' DEL_CHANNEL,
    ip.email PARAMETER1,
    '[email protected]' PARAMETER3,
    'Welcome' PARAMETER4,
    'true' PARAMETER6
    FROM ugrad.inquiry_prospect ip,
    ugrad.correspondence f,
    ugrad.address e,
    ugrad.f_lookup fl
    WHERE ip.appl_id = f.appl_id
    AND ip.APPL_ID = e.APPL_ID
    AND fl.TYPE_CODE='C'
    AND ip.record_stage = 'Prospect'
    AND e.COUNTRY_CODE=fl.code
    AND e.table_name = 'INQUIRY_PROSPECT'
    AND e.address_type =
    NVL ((SELECT gg.address_type
    FROM ugradadm.address gg
    WHERE gg.address_type =
    DECODE (f.mailpref,
    'Home', 'HOME',
    'Best', 'LOCAL',
    'HOME'
    AND gg.table_name = 'INQUIRY_PROSPECT'
    AND gg.APPL_ID = ip.appl_id
    AND((gg.address_type='LOCAL' AND NVL(gg.address_expir_date,sysdate)>sysdate)
    OR gg.address_type='HOME')),
    'HOME'
    AND f.batchid = :Batch_ID
    This report when bursted sends an email with the layout template as html body.
    The EMAIL configuration is set with a server Port number and its host address.

  • How do I customize the Email Attachment name in Email Bursting?

    I had worked on BI Publisher extensively on 10g and 11g. I have a client requirement with BIP email bursting to deliver the reports as email attachments. I'm able to do it, and also customize mail body etc. However the email attachment file name is randomly generated with some numbers. I read through the docs, and couldn't find any parameter mapping to the attachment/file name (like we do it with File bursting). How do I specify the mail attachment file names in my Busrting properties?
    Thanks,
    Padma

    Please go through the following link:

    I think after the 'Output' we can specify the filename

  • Creating a dynamic content link in Eloqua HTML editor

    I'm using dynamic content to populate a link on an HTML landing page. I drag and drop the dynamic content, and the following code shows up:
    <a href="<span title="Dynamic Content - Member Station Donation Page URL" elqid="18" elqtype="DynamicContent" class="remove-absolute" style="display: block"><span class="eloquaemail" style="-moz-user-select: all; -webkit-user-modify: read-only" unselectable="on">Member_Station_Donation_Page_URL1</span></span>">
    But when I save the page, the editor changes the HTML to this:
    <a href="<span title=" dynamic="" content="" member="" station="" donation="" page="" url"="" elqid="18" elqtype="DynamicContent" class="remove-absolute" style="display: block"><span class="eloquaemail" style="-moz-user-select: all; -webkit-user-modify: read-only" unselectable="on">Member_Station_Donation_Page_URL1</span>">
    which breaks the link. How can I format the dynamic content so the Eqolua editor doesn't screw it up?

    Hi Cootis,
    You can simply take one conatiner and create the textInput dynamically at runtime in ActionScript. Check the sample simplest  code below..
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute">
    <mx:Script>
      <![CDATA[
         private var arrayCollectionList:Array = new Array();
         private function addTextInputToForm() : void
           var textInput:TextInput = new TextInput();
           textInput.width = 250;
           textInput.height = 25;
           boxContainer.addChild(textInput);
      ]]>
    </mx:Script>
    <mx:VBox verticalGap="5" horizontalCenter="0">
      <mx:VBox id="boxContainer" verticalGap="5">
       <mx:TextInput id="txtInput" width="250" height="25" />
      </mx:VBox>
      <mx:LinkButton id="lnkButton" label="Add Another Item" width="250" click="addTextInputToForm();" />
    </mx:VBox>
    </mx:Application>

  • Emails & Dynamic Content

    Hello,
    I'm pretty new to Eloqua and the Eloqua REST API.
    I have a use case where I want to be able to pull emails with dynamic content out of Eloqua, translate them, then put them back in.
    Can anybody give me some guidance here as to whether this is possible using the REST API, and which API calls I should be using to achieve this?
    Any tips greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jimmy

    Hi Jason,
    We've added basic support for Dynamic Content and Content Sections in the C# Client available here.
    Hope this helps,

    As per requirement, External (Other java application) application suppose to get dynamic converted (HTML version) content from UCM.
    I am trying to execute GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION service using RIDC and web service client call.
    I dont see HTML content is coming as the result of GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION service.
    Would you please guide me in getting HTML converted document from external application.
    Please let me know, if you need additional details.

    Hi Srinath,
    I have tried your response. Still i am getting hda data only, not HTML content.
    GET_DYNAMIC_URL service with fileUrl attribute is returning HTML content from UCM GUI (browser) but not from RIDC.
    Code i tried is:
    DataBinder dataBinder = idcClient.createBinder();
              dataBinder.putLocal("IdcService", "GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION");
              //dataBinder.putLocal("dID","1832");
              dataBinder.putLocal("dDocName","ECMPS5_002024");
              dataBinder.putLocal("IsJava","0");
              dataBinder.putLocal("RevisionSelectionMethod","LatestReleased");
              dataBinder.putLocal("DCViewFormat","WebViewable");
              // execute the request
              ServiceResponse response = idcClient.sendRequest (userPasswordContext, dataBinder);
    InputStream istream=response.getResponseStream();
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(istream);
    BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr);
    String line = null;
    while ( (line = br.readLine()) != null)
    System.out.println(line);
    }

  • Applescript: email multliple file attachements

    Hello, I setting up a rule using action script in conjunction with Hazel, but im having some problems on the action scropt end. Seems everything works fine except it wants to send a separate email for each attachment, instead of placing them all to one email Can anyone help me with this, this is the code im using:
    set mailAttach to (POSIX path of theFile)
    set subject_ to "images update!"
    set the_content to "Attention, New files have been added"
    tell application "Mail"
              set newMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {subject:subject_, content:the_content & return & return}
              tell newMessage
                        set visible to false
                        set sender to "[email protected]"
      make new to recipient at end of to recipients with properties {[email protected]@mac.com"}
      make new attachment with properties {file name:mailAttach} at after the last paragraph
      (* change save to send to send*)
      send --<<<<---------------- change save to send to send or send to save to save to drafts
      (* change save to send to send*)
              end tell
    end tell

    At this time playing WAV files from attachments is not possible. You may want to Submit feedback on this and put in a request for it to be a added feature.

  • Email has no attachment

    I have randomly received emails in the past that I know have pdfs in them but mail on my powerbook pro says they have no attachments (no paperclip and no attachment). The emails have been coming from an Exchange server.
    This morning I have stumbled across something that might have something to do with the "no attachment" issue.
    If I check my email on either my iphone or ipad before my macbook pro and view the pdf on either device or both then go to my mac, it shows the email with no attachment.
    Has anyone else had this problem?
    If so can you redownload the individual email to get the attachment on the mac or is there a setting or rule that can fix this issue?
    @Apple......if this is a bug then you should really look at addressing it as this has been an ongoing issue for a versions of mail now!!

    I was one of the persons with the same problem but already solved it.
    In my case the problem was related with the signature file but I'm not sure what the problem was.
    I solved it this way:
    1) create backup of signature file.
    2) clear all content from the signature file.
    3) restart thunderbird and see if the problem still exists. In my case it didn't.
    4) add a content to the signature file tag by tag (in my case as it is html) and repeat #3.
    This way I was able to put exactly the same content as before (!!) but no more attachment alerts.

  • DataGrid Not Resizing to Dynamic Content

    Hello,
    I'm using Flex 3.2. I have an editable DataGrid with no with
    and height specified. I do specify rowCount to something like
    rowCount="dataProvider.length". Everything looks good when the
    datagrid is first rendered with data in it. However, if the data in
    it changes after rendering, then the grid doesn't resize
    accordingly. Actually the grid may resize, but the border/frame
    doesn't.
    Example:
    I have a special TextArea component that grows (vertically)
    as the user types in more lines of text. I use this component as
    one of my item editors. If a cell is first rendered with only one
    line of text, then the user goes in and types additional lines, the
    grid row grow within it's border, but the not the border itself...
    causing some undesired scrollbars.
    I need a way to tell the datagrid to re-calibrate sizing just
    like it does when it's first created. Is there a way to do this? I
    tried datagrid.invalidateSize() and related procedures, but nothing
    happens. What do you think?
    Thanks

  • EDGE and HTML dynamic text in a "box" with scroll bar

    I'm new to EDGE, a win7pro master collection cs5.5 suite owner. I'm mainly in the Film/Video post production field (mostly AE, PPro, Pshop, IA) but have been branching into web design the last couple of years.  I use Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash. While I'm a expert user with all the Film/video apps, I would say I only have intermediate ability with the web apps. While I understand a lot of programing logic bulding blocks I'm not a coder.
    So since we're told "flash is dead",  my interest in Edge is to try to do some of the things that I can currently do in flash in  EDGE. I was excited when Edge first came out but lost interest when it became obvious that Adobe was not going to offer Edge and Muse to "suite owners" but only in their force feeding of the "Cloud". Better known as the "golden goose" for adobe stockholders and a never ending perpetual hole in the pocket for users. Anyway....
    I spent the last couple of days doing some of the tuts and messing with the UI. It's matured a lot since I was here last.
    I've been working on a flash site for a sports team where one of the pages is a player profile page where college recuriters and other interested parties can view recuriting relavent info/stats about players. This is how it works. While on the "Team" page a users clicks on  a button labled "Player Profiles" . (Animation) A "page" flies in and unfurls from the upper right corner (3d page flips effect created in AE played by flash as a frame SEQ). Once it lands filling most of the center of the screen there is a bright flash. As the brightness fades we see the "page" is a bordered box with a BG image of a ball field(End). (Animation) from behind the border in fly small pictures (player head shots with name and jersey number). They stream in and form a circle like a wagon train and the team logo zooms up from infinity to the center of the circle(End). As the user mouses over a player's pic it zooms up a little and gets brighter (like mouseover image nav thumbs for a image slider). If the user clicks on a player's head shot it flips over and scales up to become a text box with a scrollbar. The content of the box is a mix of images, static and dynamic text fields populated from data in an "player info data base" XML file, and some hyperlinks. It's all kept updated dynamicaly with current stats, info and images from the XML file. There is also a "PDF" button that allows the user to open/save/print a PDF of the player's profile (the PDF's are static files for now but the choice of which pdf to retrive is dynamicaly supplied via the XML file.
    So.... Is Edge now able to do something like this?  Would it need to be a collection of small animations? could these be "assembled" and connected as an asset in dreamweaver ?
    I thought I would approach this from the end (ie click on an image and display a box with dynamic TEXT fileds. ) since that is the most important part, ie displaying the dynamicaly updated profile info.  Sooooo....
    Can Edge display a scrolling text box with Images, static text, and html dynamic text in it??

  • How do I add text message to this email with PDF attachment?

    Good day, everyone!
    Okay, we have a "z"-version of program RFFOUS_T and some of its include codes.  One include code, RFFORIO6, has a form called MAIL_PDF_ADVICE.  It is in this form that we are emailing a remittance advice form.  The actual form is attached as a PDF file.
    Unfortunately, there's no text in the body of the email -- it's just the attachment -- so the users would like us to add a couple basic lines in the body of the email that explain the attachment.  I'm pretty new to using this particular FM and emailing the PDF attachment, and I've gotten stuck in my research trying to find out exactly how to do this.  I'm guessing this shouldn't be all that difficult, but I'm not finding the right solution.  Here's the form:

    Hi Dave,
    Table <b>contents_bin</b> is used to pass attachment file and <b>contents_txt</b> is used to pass mail body contents. You need to declare one more int table to give contents for mail body.
    For reference check the code below
    ut_message is for message body

  • Dynamic file name as mail attachment in receiver Mail Adapter?

    Hi,
    Can any one tell the possibility of attaching file as a mail attachment without using mail Package with dynamic filename.
    Business requirement is to send error response as mail attachment with dynamic name.
    Ex: Error_Response_20110802_13.24 where 20110802 is Date and next part represents time stamp.
    File attachment name should change dynamically in Mail receiver Adapter. Thanks

    there is no standard way.
    you will have to write a module to get this in place.

  • Adding pagination in report build from PL/SQL dynamic content using htp.p

    Hi,
    I have a requirement for which i used PL/SQL dynamic content to build my report and i displayed my report using a cursor and loop by HTP.P function.
    Now problem is I have report with more than 500 rows and I want to add pagination concept for this report.
    How can i do that?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Smith

    To preserve heading on each page for a HTML table you can use the THEADER, TFOOTER and TBODY tags (see example). To force page breaks, try experimenting with these style attributes:
    <STYLE TYPE="text/css">
         tr.breakhere {page-break-before: always}
    </STYLE>
    <tr class="breakhere">Table Example:
    htp.tableopen;
    htp.print('<THEAD style="display:table-header-group">');
    ... your table headers here
    htp.print('</THEAD>');
    htp.print('<TFOOT style="display:table-footer-group"><TR><TD></TFOOT>');
    htp.print('<TBODY>');
    ... your rows here
    htp.print('</TBODY>');
    htp.tableclose;Edited by: crokitta on Apr 8, 2009 2:07 PM
