HTML_Editor not rendered: Apex 3.1, Safari 3.1.1

Hi folks,
FCKEditor is invoked correctly for HTML_Editor items in FF and IE, but in Safari I just get a text area.
This was meant to be fixed at Apex 3.1.
Any info/assistance on this, or any fellow-sufferers?
Many thanks
jd

Hi Dimitri,
Sorry for not responding earlier to your post.
I first raised this issue when I was at 3.0. As you'll see, (HTML Editor (FCKEditor) broken in Safari (APEX 3.0)? Carl B said that it was fixed at 3.1. Sadly not.
At 2.2 and before, I had my own code to integrate FCK. When 3.0 came along, I thought Yippee! - converted all my textareas to the new HTML_Editor types and stripped out all my custom code. Didn't spot the Safari problem.
So I suppose I can regress... Shame though. Would have been nice to think (esp with CB's assurance) that the problem could have been fixed at source rather than each of us having to a) find there's an issue, b) research it, c) fix it by downgrading to a pre-3.0 workaround, d) re-re-engineer at some later release when it is fixed...
Such is life.
Thanks for your help

  • HTML not rendering inside frames with Safari 2.0.3

    When we type a url in Safari that contains frames, on the initial page load the html displays as text (does not render) in some of the frames.
    When we hit the reload button on the toolbar, the html will render correctly. However, if we go back to the url and hit enter the page displays the html as plain text again.
    We have cleared the cache and this has no effect on the outcome.
    This works correctly in older versions of Safari and it works correctly in Firefox/IE.
    Has anyone encountered the same issue and found a resolution?
    One other item of note, this only happens when we use Apache as the webserver. If we use Tomcat, it renders correctly.
      Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Unfortunately the application cannot be exposed publicly. So I guess what I am looking for are suggestions as to why this may be occuring. Things to look at.
    One thing we have done is compare the html coming out of the Safari version that works and the one that doesn't and the html that comes out of Tomcat versus Apache. Using a file comparison utility, the html is always exactly the same.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Fonts not rendered same on iPad and Mac, Safari

    Hindi fonts are not rendered the same in Safari running on iMac and iPad.
    Safari on iMac works much better for Hindi, It is similar to Firefox.
    Firefox works best on both Mac and PC.
    Can this be fixed?

    Hindi has never been supported on the iphone or ipod touch, and it is also not supported on the iPad, which uses the same OS. Apple lists the supported languages in the tech specs for these products. There is no way to change these.
    To tell Apple you want Hindi added, go here:

  • Safari not rendering a page correctly

    A webpage I created in Dreamweaver uses drop down menus that are supposed to display just to the left of the link they drop from. In all other browsers they work correctly, but since the latest upgrade in Safari to 3.0.4 as a part of OS 10.4.11 on my Macbook, they are not rendering correctly. Instead they are appearing much further to the left where it's difficult to move the cursor to them before they disappear. Until I changed the color of the drop downs they were disappearing into the background. Any ideas why Safari is not rendering them correctly? I'd like to keep Safari as my primary browser, but if it won't render my own page correctly, what other pages might it be messing up? Address of the page is http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/woottonhs/ The drop downs are connected to the central column list that has small arrows beside the words. They will probably work correctly for you, but won't for me in Safari. What can I do to fix it?
    Thanks,
    KWolfrey

    Hi,
    I'm running 10.4.11 with Safari 3.0.4 and as far as I can see the menus seem to work just fine here.
    Do you have a custom stylesheet set in Safaris advanced preferences? (Some Safari enhancer applications set one even if you didn't manually set one so double check to make sure.)
    Also, do you use PithHelmet?
    One quick test you can do to help narrow down things is to try Safari in another user account. This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+\] to create a test one (and \[-\] to remove it if needed)
    Lastly, I doubt these [errors|http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.montgomeryschoolsmd. org%2Fschools%2Fwoottonhs%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&g roup=0] have anything to do with your problem since it seems to work fine for me, but you might want to look into them at some point.

  • Rollover text not rendering correctly in Safari 7.x

    Safari 7.x and my blog (NotNecessarilyPretty.com) are not getting along.
    Specifically, the rollover text in the post titles (see attached or visit site) is not rendering correctly. The right edge of the text does not change to the correct color. Have been in contact with Apple as well as the theme's developer, but have yet to be offered of a fix.
    This blog displays correctly when accessed via Chrome or Firefox, and prior to Mavericks, Safari evidenced no problem.
    Thoughts on how to correct this?
    Thanks!

    The original screenshot didn't show here, so for anyone else reading, who may well know much more about CSS & Safari than I :
    changes to this - note the right edge
    But with word-spacing un-checked in Inspector...

    Any help appreciated.
    thanks

    I think i has something to do with an html table not having a fixed height determined by content.
    It even happens when i create a page in dreamweaver and test it in safari.
    here is a simple page created using this code:
    http://www.danyul.com/pics/safariRender2.jpg
    <html>
    <body>
    <table width="100%" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
    <tr>
    <td>First <td>
    </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>Second <td> </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td>Third <td> </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>
    I have a powerbook too that was upgraded to 10.4 at the same time, and there are no problems rendering the html in safari on there...just here on the G5

  • Server Side Includes not rendering correctly in Firefox with Layers

    Hi
    The server side includes are not correctly rendering with layers in firefox. From my site here:-
    http://www.osteriastecca.com/index.php
    the home_page.php content renders above a layer on the index.php page. Initially I thought this might be a Flash layer issue but the wmode is set correctly to transparent and it works fine with a normal ssi. It also works fine in Firefox without a server side include as you can see here:-
    http://www.osteriastecca.com/index_old.php
    Works fine in IE and Safari, but not Firefox.
    How can this be rectified?
    Regards
    Glennyboy

    What testing server setup do you have? Are you using something like WAMP?
    What do you see on screen which tells you the SSIs are not rendering? Any error message?

  • Page not rendering correctly

    I have a site I am going to that is not rendering properly, instead of seeing a standard page I see a list of links, followed by pictures. Kind of like you usually see on a "Site Map" page. I have contacted the webmaster and he says it does render properly on his safari. It does render properly for me in FF, so I figure it has to be something in my setup. I have disabled all extensions, enabled Java and JS, no go.
    Here is what I am seeing on Safari (6.0.5):
    Here is how it should render:
    Thoughts?

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • PDF not rendering correctly

    Hi
    Can anyone help? I am using an iMac and have had a pdf emailed to me. When I login on to the site and select the PDF to view, it is not rendering correctly.
    I am not a technical person but to me it appears to open as a series of code, letters, numbers and symbols.
    Any ideas how to rectify this?
    Is it Adobe related or can I update the settings for the browser? I am using Safari.
    Thanks

    what OS & Safari version ?
    Often, removing any 'pdf' plugins in
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
    and
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
    then restarting the browser will solve pdf display issues, although in this case, it sounds as if the site is telling Safari that these are text type files & it's attempting to display them accordingly.
    Disabling plug-ins via Safari - Preferences - Security should also eliminate pdf plug-ins as a cause.

  • Error Rendering SELECT Element in Safari Under iOS (iPhone & iPad)

    Hello,
    Our website contains three SELECT elements that are not rendering properly under Safari, iOS 4.2 on both an iPhone and iPad.
    If you load http://demo.campusguides.com in a normal browser (Chrome, FF, non-mobile Safari) you will see that the three "Browse By" boxes at the top of the page each contain text that you can select using your mouse. Each of those boxes is actually a SELECT element and each piece of text is an OPTION within that SELECT box. We have set a SIZE property on the SELECT element that allows the user to see more than one OPTION value at a time. Here is the W3C page that mentions the SIZE option for SELECT boxes - http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/interact/forms.html#adef-size-SELECT.
    On all the browsers I have tested the list displays properly, meaning that you can see multiple OPTION values at once as well as a scroll bar (when needed) that allows you to scroll up and down the list. On iOS Safari however the list is displayed as an empty box with no OPTION values visible to the user. If the iOS user clicks the SELECT element they are taken to the normal SELECT interface for Safari which does work fine, but without any content displaying in the box to begin with, I don't think many users would know they can / should click that element.
    So basically I think this is a bug, and that iOS Safari should either render that SELECT element with the OPTIONS visible to the user, or it should ignore the SIZE property and render that element like a "normal" SELECT menu where only one option is visible at a time.
    Thank you!

  • Help! Images are not rendering in any browser!

    When online, images are not rendering on any webpage. All other content is fine. Problem is across browsers, BUT, is limited to my user identity. When I create a new user and go online the problem id resolved. I do not want to lose all my user settings. Can anyone think of something I can do to troubleshoot this. Some file I may have deleted, some setting?

    Hi all, I am facing the same problems:
    Im using an UMTS card to connect to the internet.
    On various pages, no pictures are shown. The reason is, that my mobile carrier is using proxies to compress the pictures. Same thing worked fine, before updating to snow leopard. Now the pictures can show up. Safari says, that the pictures were not found.
    I tried the umts card on another computer, it worked fine, so t has to do with the update from Leo to Snow Leo....
    I already deleted the .plist, but it didnt solve the issue.
    Does anybody has an hint or solution??

  • Page not rendering in IE6

    I just updated my site and I discovered that the page is not rendering in IE6 (and IE5.5, but I suppose no one uses that anymore).
    All I can see is the red background color.
    The link to the site is www.schudden.net.
    Can anybody tell me why the page is not visible in IE6?

    I use a transparant png for the footer.
    I did not use any frames to construct my site, made this from a one column, fixed header and footer template in dreamweaver.
    The previous site was visible in IE 6.
    I actually made a whole new layout, but he content stayed the same.
    When I validate in dreamweaver it gives me two errors in the css file:
    Unsupported property: _position
    Affects: Firefox 1.5, 2.0, 3.0; Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0b1; Internet Explorer for Macintosh 5.2; Netscape 8.0; Opera 8.0, 9.0; Safari 2.0, 3.0
    Unsupported value: 'fixed'
    Affects: Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0b1; Internet Explorer for Macintosh 5.2
    Perhaps this is causing the error, but I don't know how to resolve this.
    There was also an error about the min-height I used. I deleted that option, but it did'n't help.

    /* Tips for Elastic layouts
    1. Since the elastic layouts overall sizing is based on the user's default fonts size, they are more unpredictable. Used correctly, they are also more accessible for those that need larger fonts size since the line length remains proportionate.
    2. Sizing of divs in this layout are based on the 100% font size in the body element. If you decrease the text size overall by using a font-size: 80% on the body element or the #container, remember that the entire layout will downsize proportionately. You may want to increase the widths of the various divs to compensate for this.
    3. If font sizing is changed in differing amounts on each div instead of on the overall design (ie: #sidebar1 is given a 70% font size and #mainContent is given an 85% font size), this will proportionately change each of the divs overall size. You may want to adjust based on your final font sizing.

    @pziecina : the validation errors are weird, because I have a doctype in my documents.
    Could this be caused by the fact that I have domainname linked to an external site (I use the free space I got from my provider, and the domainname link is forwarded to this space). Because, when I validate the original index.html file (http://members.home.nl/justme4u/index.html) it only gives me two errors.

  • SingleSelectionBean is not rendering the child bean to the right

    Hi,
    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.2. I am using singleSelectionBean as the tableSelection clhild of a table. And I have a button as the child of the singleSelectionBean. But the singleSelection is not rendering the button to the right side of the control bar. Which it should do automatically. Can somebody explain why it is not doing so for me?

  • Firefox OS is not displaying correctly. it appears that the CSS and JS are not rendering! Any help would be most appreciated!

    I would have preferred to show anyone a screenshot of the web pages, but there is not an attach file on this forum. Anyway, with only Firefox OS , not my other browsers, the web pages are not rendering correctly. For example on Facebook there is no header or footer. JS is active in the browser and as I said Chrome and Safari are NOT having any problems. I am surmising that the CSS and JS files are somehow not being displayed. I may be very wrong, but I would gratefully accept any help someone has to offer. Thank you and have a great day!

  • Open Sans Condensed not rendering right

    Hi community
    I'm building a website using (partially) Google webfont 'Open Sans Condensed'. Also my website is in Greek.
    In Chrome and Firefox the font is rendered correctly, in Safari it's not rendered at all.
    On the iPad & iPhone (tested in Chrome & Safari) it only renders the latin characters right, the greek are not.
    Any ideas???
    Here's what it looks like:

    UPDATE on the issue!!!
    Several people with similar issues (in other forums) recommended this:
    "If 'Open Sans Condensed' is installed on the computer, disable it in Font Book. Should solve the problem."
    Result:
    In fact it does effect the come out, but doesn't solve the problem!!!
    Now Safari (desktop) renders the font the same way as the iPad (only latin characters are right) Greek is still not working.
    I couldn't expect the visitors of my website to NOT have the font installed, also this solution wouldn't work on iPad anyway.
    Any other suggestions?
