HTML Frame inside PDF

I want to display HTML content inside PDF. This HTML content just contains an Image, nothing else. How can it be possible? I am not able to find any way doing this. Is it possible to render HTML content inside PDF?

Actually I need to render a Google Map (Static JPG Image) in ImageField dyanamically. Pls have a look on snap below -
But ImageField accepts only Base64 encoded value, so I can't use the URI of static image. Also I can't load it in temp memory inside PDF (Using HTTP Request) & then convert it into Base64 value. So I thought of putting HTML frame inside PDF.
Now I am thinking that the only way left is to make a WebService in b/w GoogleMap and PDF which will accept the location as the I/P and returns with the Base64 encoded value. Is it the correct way? Or Is there any better way to do this?

Do you see that missing image in Tools > Page Info > Media?
You can access Page Info via the right-click context menu on a web page and the Tools menu (Alt+T).
Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the menu bar is hidden.

How to bring Login.jsp under a html frame ?

hi all.
I have customized the Login.jsp and actually have lot of static content to be displayed in our proposed entry page.
I decided to use Html frames - something like the one below.
When i point on the frame to the Login.jsp ( i referred it as 'amserver/UI/Login') --> it loads all frames then redirects the page to the /amserevr/UI/Login -> the Login.jsp now occupies the entire screen and i c none of the html frames..
any idea how to bring in the portal Login.jsp under a html frame ?

Embedding indexes inside PDF file

Hi,
My requirement is to convert PDF files (Which have text content) to pdf files with embedded indexes to accelerate search operation. I want do the conversion in batch process that it will be configured to run according to a given schedule.
1- Which product allow me to achieve that ?
2- Can i do it programatically in my own code by using APIs from Adobe ? If yes where i can find those APIs ?
NB: Please, can someone tell me how to talk to an expert fro Adobe. I want know if Adobe tools offer a solution to this problem or not.

You have two alternatives. First of all, there are many utilities, some of them free that can put a "printer" on your printer list that really writes a PDF file. The one I use is free, called CutePDF. Once you have one of these installed, saving to PDF is as simple as print the diagram, choose the printer associated with your utility, then name the file.
I'm not sure if it is in your version of Designer, but all of the latest versions of Designer have a "publish diagram" utility. Just drop down the Utilities menu from the RON or the Design Editor. The bottom selection should be "Publish Diagrams...", which will open a dialog window. Choose the diagram(s) you want to publish, select Publish to File, enter a file name, and select a graphics format from PNG, GIF, JPEG, BMP or TIFF. You can easily add the file to an HTML page inside an <IMG> tag.

HTML Frames not using custom scrollbar in Flex 3 mx:HTML

I've been working on an app that uses a custom skin in Flex 3. The app has a help window. The help contains an HTML with frames. Problem is, the main app vertical scrollbar custom skin is being ignored for the HTML Frames scrollbar (what looks like the classic version of Halo - maybe). This only happens with frames. It happens no matter how or where I place my HTML or HTMLLoader. If I dont have frames the custom scrollbar is used. Is there a node im missing in my skin css (obviously not VScrollBar or ScrollBar - the two standard used by Flex)? or some other way to connect the HTML Frames scrollbar to my custom skin.
I'm not a noob but not an expert.

Does anyone know the CSS code/possibility of opening an html file inside the Spry panel?

For what it's worth...the html file I'm tring to open uses a <canvas> tag. When opened by itself, the html file has no problem opening and displaying the canvas data.

With the exeption of images, to add external content to a document you will need to make use of either serverside or clientside code.

Session timeouts for login page with in a html frame

Hi, i have a login page which when the session times out gets redisplayed within the frame of the html page where the session timed out , i have tried setting the session timeouts to be less than the other application so that the login page will timeout before the documentum application but this does not make a difference.
does any one know how i could get the login page to redisplay by itself, outside of the html frame. do i need to have some javascript to figure out if there is a frame then redraw the page etc...and how should i di this ? any working examples will be appreciated.

You would certainly need some Javascript or use the meta-refresh tag to the session timeout time. If you set the meta-refresh tag in a frame to a time just a little bit bigger than the session timeout time and the set your security mechanisms to force the user to login in again when the session times out, the frame will refresh after the session has timed out and the application should forward the frame to the login page.

Can I import HTMLs from inside the project and use as portlet page ?

As you know, I am using Java Studio Creator 2 Update 1 for my current portal project. I have created JSR-168 JSF Portlet Project for my portlet development.
As I have some html pages ready for my development,
Can I import HTMLs from inside the project and use as portlet page for my project?
I did the followings steps:
1: In side the project - File -> Add Existing Item -> Web Page ( imported test.html page from my local folder)
2: Let it convert some of the tags for me ( so now it becomes - �test.jsp� )
3: Set it to initial view.
4. A default portlet page � newPortletPage.jsp is still there with no initial view.
Now after doing this, No Visual Designer and Properties window available to for that �test.jsp� page. Though it allowed me to �build� the project successfully.
When I build and run the portlet application, got the error message �Error occurred in portlet!� on Pluto Portal. Please advice.

You do not open fcpproject files. You don't double click or anything else. The files have to be in the correct folder structure in the Final Cut Projects folder and the application opens them automatically. Can you post screen shots of the Final Cut Projects folder and its location.

Bitmap image won't show after converting HTML file to pdf

I have a program which saves a technical report as a HTML file. I don't have another choice as to file type to save as. This program has a template which generates the report....and there are fields which are filled in...some text fields, and one is a company logo. Just to be clear the logo itself is not in the template, a holding place is there which points to the location of the logo on my drive. This is all set up by the program and can't be altered.
If I save the logo as a jpg, png or tiff file, the logo shows up in the final HTML report and if I use Adobe Professional (version 7.0 on Win XP) to create a pdf the image also shows up - a perfect replica of the report is created in pdf, making it convenient for printing and email.
If I save the logo as a bitmap file (which creates a higher resolution and sharper looking logo) the logo shows up in the initial HTML technical report, but when I convert this to pdf the file is not found, instead it shows as a small square red box with the error "Bad file image" or "unable to download image".
I can't understand why this would be the case as the logo is saved in the same location whether it is jpg, png, tiff or bmp. It just seems that the Adobe Pro doesn't know how to "find" the bitmap logo from the HTML template.
I did try converting the HTML document to Word but it threw the formatting out and when it was converted to pdf it cropped the page & I wasn't able to resolve this...maybe it can be done but it is a long way around in any case, particularly if steps then need to be taken to correct the formatting.
At the moment the document can be printed with success from the original format - then it's a matter of scanning the printed document in order to email. It can't be emailed directly because of the embedded information which is lost if then sent to the recipient's computer. However it would be nice if the doc could be converted to pdf which would then make it easier to transfer the file to a backup drive or for email. Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks for your response. Yes I did mean .bmp files.
The problem is not getting it to show in HTML - but Adobe then picking it up from there. I guess though if it is not a standard format for HTML then maybe Adobe has trouble recognising it if it is there. Also, it is possible for Adobe to convert .bmp files if they are inserted in the HTML file, but I have instead a template with the code for the location of the file rather than the graphic itself. I don't have this problem using the other file formats and getting them into pdf...it's just that the images aren't as sharp as the bmp. I have tried various formats and resolutions so if there isn't a way I can get the bmp from the HTML file into pdf I might just have to live with printing and scanning from the original. Thanks for your input, it confirms what I was thinking. I'll leave this unanswered for now in case someone else has further information.

JasperReportIntegration tool - Report coming back as HTML instead of PDF

* Apex 4.1.1 (using EPG)
* 11G SE
* Apache FOP as print Server
* Dietmar Aust's free tool on integrating JasperReports
I've recently created a second APEX instance locally (from externally hosted instance) and copied the application (via application export) and parsing schema (using exp/imp). Everything works fine except when I try to print reports (for JasperReports) it comes up as garbled HTML instead of PDF.
In my hosted instance it all works fine.
Since the necessary packages to integrate with Jasper reports goes into the parsing schema for application, all necessary objects are imported as well during the exp/imp.
The only thing different about the hosted and my local instance is that the hosted one is XE where as my local one is SE but I don't think this is a factor at all.
The other difference is the hosted instance uses Apex Listener while mine doesn't. Again don't think this a factor as well.
My print server is enabled and working and I can print tables as PDF reports.
I am not sure if I need to enable something or missed a step needed so the reports come up as expected as is the case in hosted instance. Any hints or suggestions welcome.

Hi Dietmar, I couldn't do it as I couldn't find that line I needed to modify. The XLIB_HTTP package goes upto line 45 and those lines referred in that post goes upto 89,90.
But then I was due to change from EPG to Web Server + Apex Listener (for other reasons) which in turn solved my issue anyway.

JSF seems not to support the use of the back buttons and html frames.

I�m having the following problem. I have a JSP which contains a button that register a listener. Here is part of the code:

This action listener only forwards the request to other simple JSP.
The problem appears in the following situation:
1 � I click in the button that generates the event that will be processed by helloDuke.CommnadAction listener.
2 � It forward to a second JSP page.
3 � This second page is rendered to the user properly.
4 � The user clicks in the browser�s back button to return to previous page.
Then if is the user clicks in first page button, the CommandAction listener was removed. You must click again in the button to forward to the correct page.
The same happened if you are using html frames. If you have a frame with 2 pages and both pages register action listeners.
The last loaded page cleans the actions listener of the other.
Does anybody have any solution?.
It seems JSF doesn�t support the use of frames and I think that in some situation the frames are the solution to several problems.
Any help will be really appreciated.

Using the saveStateInClient=true produces a faulty output when using the command_button and an action_listener. The page that is rendered is totally useless: the button won't work, and due to the faulty rendering there's an output like: >com.sun.faces.saveStateMarker
So, why is it, that pressing the button (not using the saveStateInClient option) will only work the second time, same thing pressing the backbutton. Pressing the reload button will toggle between two pages - the one before the session id is assigned and the one that it's supposed to show.
Any guess will be greatly appreciated !!!!

Hi,
For sending the ALV output as PDF attachment, you can create a spool (proper page size in print parameters) and convert the spool to PDF using the FM CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF and then send the same as attachment in mail.
For send the data as HTML attachment, try the below FMs
WWW_ITAB_TO_HTML_HEADERS & WWW_ITAB_TO_HTML_LAYOUT to create the HTML layout
WWW_ITAB_TO_HTML to create the HTML for the actual data.

Resize applet within a HTML frame

Hi,
I am using an applet to display a tree in a HTML frame of a web page.
I would like to resize or refresh the applet when the HTML frame is resized. Is there a way for the applet to know when the HTML frame is resized?

I tried using the componentResized() method to solve this problem but I was unsuccessful.
Here is what I tried:
My application consists of using a Java applet to display a tree in a HTML frame. In addition I put the tree in a scroll pane. I tried using addComponentListener(this) to get the componentResized() method to be involked. I tried adding the component listener to the scroll pane:

treeView.addComponentListener(this);
I tried adding the component listener to the root pane:
JRootPane root = getRootPane();
root.addComponentListener(this);
and I tried adding the comoponent listener to the glass pane and the content pane.
The componentResized() method was involked when the tree was initially displayed in some of my attempts but I was never able to get the componentResized() method to be involked when I resized the html frame.
I believe that I am having a problem determining which component to add the addComponentListener to so that the componentResized() method get invoked when I resize the html frame.

How do I get my music, photo's, bookmarks, etc files back after the HTML Framer virus whiped them out ?

AVG said I had the HTML Framer virus when I did a scan as I lost everything, even had to reinstall IE and Google Chrome, emails etc. Downloaded everything over but lost my photo's, bookmarks, movies, music, etc. there is about 10% free space on
disk C and 75% free space on disk D so is my info still there and can I retrieve it some how ?

If these tracks are from Apple you can probably download them a second time. If they are from some other source you will have to refer to that source.
