HTML markup in newsfeed when using SocialCommentWebPart

Hi,
I have created a brand new publishing site. I have added the SocialCommentWebPart to allow users to add comments on news. I use the default page layouts that ships with SharePoint publishing sites. The only thing I have added to the page layouts is this:
In the top of the page:
<%@ Register Tagprefix="SPSWC" Namespace="Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls" Assembly="Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" %>
In the bottom of the page:
<SPSWC:SocialCommentWebPart ID="Comments" WebPartPropertyDisplayItems="5" ChromeType="None" runat="server" Title="Comments" __WebPartId="{B8B35A9A-1688-4E42-AE0F-8064E89CEAD7}" />
This works as expected and users are able to add comments to the pages using this page layou. Looks like this (this site collection is in norwegian so don't mind some of the strange words):
The problem is when I navigate to MySite. In MySite it renders with HTML markup like this:
Anyone knows if it's possible to solve this?

I'm having the same issue with html markup in the SocialCommentWebPart appearing escaped in the MySite news feed MicroFeedWebPart.

• HTML tags not displayed when using Data Template

Hi All...
I'm developing a BI Publisher report in which one of the columns is a clob data type. I'm using an xsl stylesheet to format the data present in the clob column.
I've developed the report using data template as the data set. The problem is the clob column which has the HTML tags where not displayed properly...for example
the tag starting with
<
is replaced with
& lt;
I did a couple of searches in this forum and in tim's blog but couldn't find a proper solution...

Re: Special characters in CLOB are making report fail
I came to know that data template cannot generate proper HTML tags for release 10.1.3.2. Is there any work around way to get the proper HTML tags when data template is used as a data set?
Thanks in Advance...

Issue could be with the data that is selected in the other environment. It generally happens that the ALV will not give the same results as in the DEV in the other systems.
Possible errors could be the control break statements in the loop...endloop block. validate the correctness of the control break stmts if any.

• HTML bodypart rendered incorrectly when using text/calendar bodypart

We have a web application in which we are constructing multipart email messages and sending them via an Exchange 2003 server.
The structure of the email message looks like this:
multipart/mixed
multipart/alternative
bodypart (text/plain)
bodypart (text/html)
bodypart (text/calendar)
bodypart (application/ics, base64 encoding, iCal file attachment)
The problem is that when we include the text/calendar bodypart, any embedded images in the HTML bodypart are displayed as attachments at the bottom of the email (which appears as a meeting request) in Outlook. Additionally, the HTML is not rendered entirely correctly. Hyperlinks appear appropriately as does the font formatting (e.g., bold), but table formatting is ignored and so items are not lined up as they should.
If we remove the text/calendar bodypart, the HTML displays correctly, including the inline images, but the email does not show up as a meeting request.
Doing some digging, I saw that HTML with inline attachments should be in a multipart/related section, however, we saw no change from the original problem.
I'll post this to the Outlook forum as well (link TBD) as I don't know where the problem officially lies. If anyone knows if this is a bug, or has some insight as to how to get the HTML to display correctly and also have the email show as a meeting invitation, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Ah, that would explain why removing the text/calendar body part "fixed" the HTML issues. I'll let our product planning team know.
This, however, begs the question, why is MSFT working on the quality of HTML to RTF conversion rather than just displaying the HTML? I'm not sure I see an added benefit of using RTF over HTML in this case. I can't imagine that there is there some sort of limitation the rendering engine. Do you happen to know the answer?

I reconfigured the sso from ABAP->JAVA by creating new ABAP certificate and import it to the J2EE.

Can not print report when using HTML or DHTML. When I open the report and click the print icon I get a small blank dialog box and then nothing. If I change to activex it works and I can print.
Any Ideas?

Hi,
I did not come across this situation before. Did you apply any fix packs. Try to check whether its a issue which can be fixed by applying fix pack( try to check release notes of fix pack and see if they mentioned any thing about this).
Thanks,
SK.

• Using HTML markup in OData

Hello,
We want to store long texts with an OData service. This text should be stored including formatting (html markup?). Does OData support this? Should I use String or Xstring Data types?
Regards, Paul Lauwers.

Paul,
I would suggest making use of OData's media entity. Store your long text in a txt/html file and model it as a media entity.
Here is how.

• Arabic characters appear as empty squares when using certain HTML tags or font styles

Only when HW acceleration is on. Arabic characters appear as empty squares when using "italic" or "oblique" font styles or when using <i> or <em> html tags.
Try this code to replicate the problem

<i>i tag مشكلة ظهور المربعات الخالية بدل الحروف <br> <br>
<em>em tag مشكلة ظهور المربعات الخالية بدل الحروف </em>

After lots of research, I found the problem. The boxes (squares) show up whenever there is a font in the webpage that does not have Arabic within its Unicode range such as Times New Roman Italic or Oblique. Normally, Firefox will pick another font to display the characters but now, a newly introduced feature is interfering.
To fix the problem without turning off hardware acceleration.
Go to about:config
locate: gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading
which is True by default in FF4.0 Beta 10, and change it to False.
This is a bug that has to be fixed.

• HTML signatures distorted inside the Signatures and Stationery window preview/edit field, but display fine when used

I created an HTML signature and imported it into Outlook 2010/2013 by placing the .htm file into my %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures folder. The signature looks and works great, however the signature looks distorted / severely squished in width when attempting
to view the signature in the Signatures and Stationery window within Outlook. What would be causing this? Is this a common issue when using .htm signatures?
It isn't too big of an issue as the signatures do work as expected when in normal use, however some users would like to tweak theirs using Outlook's built in editor and are not currently able to.

In my experience at least, that's a normal behaviour. The editor isn't fully WYSIWYG so if you do anything complicated in there it won't always give an accurate representation of what will eventually be output when you insert it into a message. I've seen
the same thing with signatures copied from elsewhere, displaying fine in the email but not in the editor, so it's not restricted to imported .htm files.

• No mnemonic or focus when using HTML for a components text

When using HTML to set the text for a JLabel, JRadioButton or JCheckBox; mnemonics are never displayed and the outline depicting focus is never painted. Any ideas why? Any way of fixing this? Is it a known bug?
JRadioButton radio1 = new JRadioButton( "
This is a test!
" );
radio1.setMnemonic( KeyEvent.VK_T );
radio1.setDisplayedMnemonicIndex( 8 );Thanks in advance,
Jamie

The accuracy of this response may vary depending on the look and feel you're using.
The JRadioButton and, by virtue of being a subclass, JCheckBox are painted by the look and feel class. Those classes behave differently for HTML text. If the text property is HTML, that is there is a javax.swing.text.View that is responsible for rendering the text there is not even a call to paintFocus so the focus is never painted.
Also, if there is no text the focus is not painted. This will happen if you create a JRadioButton with no String argument and use a separate JLabel with setLabelFor(Component) to associate it with the JRadioButton. The actual guts of the radio button never ever seems to show any indication of focus under any circumstances.
I can only assume this is deliberate (rather than a bug) since there's fairly deliberate non-calling of methods and no provision for the focus indicator to be painted when there's no text associated with the JRadioButton or JCheckBox.

When using Firefox I cannot obtain Gmail in Standard View, only in HTML. It's OK in Chrome.
How do I correct this? Firefox is my default browser.

That is usually an indication that some JavaScript aren't working properly on the Gmail site.

I would really like your help on this one
Thanks
Rodney

Hi,
Please check that your swfobject.js file is located where your .swf file and.html file are published. Your .swf file, .html file and swfobject.js should be placed on the same folder.
In my Flash CS4 the code generated in the HTML file is different and is having 318 lines of code. But the code which you pasted below looks different. If you are not able to see the flash content only in HTML file then it might be active content blocking. Please refer the link which provides fix for active content blocking manually.

• Facebook V 3.3.0.11 newsfeed only loads when Wi-Fi connection active - get error 2001 when using cellular connection

There are a number of very recent posts regarding a Facebook error "Facebook returned an unknown error 2001" when trying to dispaly or refresh the news feed.
For about the past 18 hours I have been experiencing the same issue; other Facebook functions (view own profile, view friends list, view photos, ...) work fine.
What I have noticed, though, is that FB functions as expected (i.e. news feed refreshes normally) when using a Wi-Fi connection. As soon as I disconnect from Wi-Fi and connect via a mobile connection, the problem returns.
My wife's identical phone has also been experincing this problem since yesterday.
Both phones are Blackberry 9700 Bold, with OS 6.0 bundle1879.
My location is Cape Town, South Africa.

When you get to a wifi location it should work. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

• Html markup/tool tip appears on website

The html markup/tool tip boxes appear on our newly published
website Aardvarkartbazaar.com. They show- up when you hover over
the artwork on the Art For Sale section. Any suggestions on how to
remove these from appearing on our website would be much
appreciated.

I see that the title attributes contain stuff like:
title="

<br>
<br>
$60 (S & H included)
<br>

you actually can´t have html tags within title or alt
attributes, that´s why it´s getting displayed "as is" --
use plain text only

• Html markup for "NAME" field in APEX 4.02.00.07 tree structure

Hi,
I've seen countless examples of modifying the appearance of the NAME field of an APEX 4 tree, but I can't get it to work. If I create the tree as below, all I get is :
the Name on each node of the tree. I can't seem to make the NAME field bold. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.
Susan
Here's the code:
select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0
when level = 1 then 1
else -1
end as status,
level,
'' || "NAME" || '' as name,
null as icon,
"ID" as value,
null as tooltip,
null as link
from "#OWNER#"."TEMP"
start with "PID" is null
connect by prior "ID" = "PID"

Just posted, and I see that my attempt to show the html markup, simply marked up the text. What I mean is that the html markup does not embolden the NAME field. I just see the bracketed html markup tags on either side of the NAME field. I hope I am being clear enough.

Axiom,
Unfortunately, the version of jsTree currently bundled in APEX does not include support for HTML titles. You can hack it in by using an on page load dynamic action to convert the plain-text titles to HTML (though that can get really ugly very quickly). Or you can use a PL/SQL region to create a tree using the latest jsTree build. (Demo page here.)
