HTML tags displayed with the text in "Notification" area

We want to display an HTML formatted message in the "notification" area, but the HTML tags are being escaped and thus are displayed along with the text. We are using Application Express 2.2.1.00.04. The application has been handed off to us to support and we have no experience with APEX. So I hope I am explaining this correctly.
The process to display the message is as follows:
After submission, a page validation fires, which is of type "function returns boolean": "return some_function('P100_MESSAGE',2nd_arg);".
In "Error Message" is "&P100_MESSAGE."
The function returns true when the validation is successful. When validation fails, it returns false, setting 'P100_MESSAGE' to some error message - for example: "<li>Phone number is not numeric</li><li>Email address is not valid</li>".
Our template has this in the body definition:
#NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE##SUCCESS_MESSAGE##BOX_BODY#
As I understand it, #NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE# will be replaced with the value of 'P100_MESSAGE'.
I've displayed 'P100_MESSAGE' on my page to confirm its contents and it is rendered correctly with bullets. But the notification area does not show bullets. It displays the text and the HTML tags.
Is there anything obvious we can do to fix this problem? Thanks

I 've changed P100_MESSAGE to text field, text field (disabled, saves state), text field (disabled, does not save state), and textarea, display as text, etc. It is originally set to Hidden type (because it is only to be displayed in the notification area). But changing it to various types makes no difference as to how it is displayed in the notification area. Of course, when it's not hidden, then it's also displayed on the page, among to other page elements,which is not acceptable.

Why some HTML tag display in interface????

I have installed Apex3.2 based on oracle10g,
when I create application and enter it,there alway are some incomplete html tag in IE.
How to do it ????
for example: '<html','<image'

Check the DAD character set is AL32UTF8 and version of the PL/SQL Web Toolkit >= 10.1.2.0.6.
The DAD may be at the location indicated in the documentation link below, or it may be somewhere else depending on the local configuration. The PL/SQL Web Toolkit can be checked using the query select owa_util.get_version from dual in the SQL Workshop.

HTML tags not displayed when using Data Template

Hi All...
I'm developing a BI Publisher report in which one of the columns is a clob data type. I'm using an xsl stylesheet to format the data present in the clob column.
I've developed the report using data template as the data set. The problem is the clob column which has the HTML tags where not displayed properly...for example
the tag starting with
<
is replaced with
& lt;
I did a couple of searches in this forum and in tim's blog but couldn't find a proper solution...

I came to know that data template cannot generate proper HTML tags for release 10.1.3.2. Is there any work around way to get the proper HTML tags when data template is used as a data set?

Issue could be with the data that is selected in the other environment. It generally happens that the ALV will not give the same results as in the DEV in the other systems.
Possible errors could be the control break statements in the loop...endloop block. validate the correctness of the control break stmts if any.

How to turn of HTML tags in Email Messages?

My BB8830 World Edition on Verizon continues to show full html tags - e.g. <http://www.oracle.com/dm/global/opn.gif> - instead of just the link, which makes any email with links extremely difficult to read as the full html tags display in the middle of a sentence or para.
Any idea how to turn this off?

You'll have to wait for Verizon to release OS 4.5 for your device. Once you upgrade your device, you will be able to view HTML email.
There are also third party packages (that you'd have to pay for) available to read HTML email, but the OS should be available within the next few months. Then again it is Verizon, and they tend to drag their heels on updates, so....

HTML tags in TLF (slice to 2 text fields)

i create on stage TLF and i slice to 2 text fields
i put text to TLF in actions tText.htmlText = "Some text...."
if text is too much, text from 1 text field is not displayed
in 2 text field. All is displayed only in 1 text field
if i add text from tText.text is displayed in 1 and 2 text field.
how to make to text with html tags displayed in 1 and 2 text field?

This looks to me like a bug in TLFTextField. I'll report this bug to the Flash Authoring team.
You could use this as a workaround - find all of the containers that should be attached to the flow, set htmlText then reattach the containers (past the first):

Display HTML data on RTF Template - EBS R12

I have a requirement where I would like to display the data from a Rich text format to a XML Publisher report Output.
The XML Tag is currently showing all the HTML tags in its data.
Please can anyone help as too how can I display the HTML data on the RTF output.

I have done exactly that in one of my applications.
I have extracted the image from the database as a byte array, and displayed it using a servlet.
Here is the method in the servlet which does the displaying:
(since I'm writing one byte at a time, it's probably not terribly efficient but it works)

The name of the image to display is in the URL as well as the path to the servlet. The servlet will therefore need to extract the image name from the url and call the database.

Problem Description: If we had loaded youtube.com video url in a view stack and navigate to other index of stack or away from we UI screen within the same native window video or embeded tag of flash player or any other embed object will be displayed on top of all screens layer in same position of where the object should be placed in side of html loader only.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) go to http://get.straweb.com/StraWebBrowser/StraWebBrowser.air download and install
2) load 2 tabs and in the 3 tab load video player of youtube.com which will a sample video
before completing the load of 3 tab which trying to load video from youtube.com, navigate to other tabs 1 or 2 in few second once the flash player of youtube.com video player is load it will display in the current tab or UI screen.
3) Try navigating to other tabs than youtube.com loaded tab you see the flash player is on top it stable.
4) navigate to 3 tab and try to navigate to other tab you can observe that so how it will not show that flash player and only visible in that 3 tab which is fine.
Actual Result: Embedded tag of html page displaying on top of all layers of Adobe air application native window
Expected Result: Embedded tag of html page should only displayed in side htmlloader
This you can replicate in any adobe air plugin update and on any Hardware and Environment.
Applicable to all sdk versions of adobe air.

Html tags removed when #COLUMN_HEADER# is used in column template

Hi all,
I'm using APEX 4.0.2, theme 2 Builder Blue.
I am trying to add html tags to dynamically generated column headings of a dynamic SQL Report.
When using a standard report template, the headings contain the html tags. However when I want to use one of the vertical lay-outs all html tags are removed. After some research I found out that when the substitution string #COLUMN_HEADER# is used within the column headings part of the template, the html tags are being preserved. They are removed however when the #COLUMN_HEADER# substitution string is used in the column templates part of the template.
This is easily testable by using for instance "return htf.bold ('COL01')" as dynamic column header.
Is this a bug or am I overlooking something? Is there another solution maybe to preserve html tags in the column heading?

webdynpro appears to use XHTML instead of HTML so the syntax is a bit more limitted and more picky.

The htmlText property should work however only a few basic
html tags are supported as far as I know.

When Exported in PDF reports displays HTML Tags

WebI Report
I am Reporting on Oracle CLOBs. This CLOB contains Data with HTML Tags, Clearly this CLOB is the combination of DATA formatted in HTML tags.
When I create a WebI Reports on this (CLOB) WebI displays correctly in the sence data only.
When I export this report to PDF; The PDF display contains both data with HTML tags as well.
Is there any solution/workaround or any setting in the BO Server to overcome/solve this issue.

My question is wether Adobe support CLOBs or not.
I was reported on oracle CLOBs (This CLOBs contains data wrapped in HTML tags), by using Business Object Web Intelligence. This WebI displaying the reports as I desire, there is no problem, in WebI. WebI displaying data with no HTML Tags.
My problem is that when I export this WebI report, this Adobe is getting HTML tags, why? Since this WebI is not displaying the HTML tags, since adobe does not know wether there is a HTML tags or not.

HTML tags in Hidden Item not displaying correctly

I have created a HTML Text Region which includes a Javascript function. The function references a Hidden Item also created and linked to the region. The Hidden item returns a text field from the database with concatenates multiple rows together into a single string with HTML tag -br- between each row.
The tags are not been recognised as HTML tags and is displayed :-
-br-Record 1-br-Record 2-br-Record 3-br-'
I want the page to display :-
Record 1
Record 2
Record 3
Any ideas?

Hello,
Check to make sure you don't have those items set to escape html.
Past that are you sure your javascript is putting in the tags correctly? before you submit fire a alert that shows the value of the hidden item and make sure it's correct there.

Displaying content in JSP page, want BR but not other Html tags

I have a page and am reading files and displaying the contents of the files onto the page in a <div> Oneissue is that in the file the end of line are \n or \r\n whichever operation system. I replaced those with no problem. Now my issue is that I display that in the JSP page:
<c:out value="${filecontents}" escapeXml="false" />I use escapeXml so that will add the line breaks. Now my issue is that the file might contains other HTML tags that I want to display simply as text - I don't want the browser to render the other HTML tags.
Is there a way to do that? Would I have to replace HTML tags with something special?

Hmm... your file contains HTML tags, but you don't want the browser to interpret them as HTML tags, right? So the way to do that is to use escapeXml="true" in your c:out element.
But then that also escapes the tags that you carefully put in there. And you don't want that. You want the browser to interpret those as HTML tags.
I guess you can't have it both ways. Can you do something like outputting one line of the file at a time with <c:out ... escapeXml="true"> followed by ?

SharepointWebControls RichTextField also display HTML tags

I'm having an issue upon using SharepointWebControls:RichTextField in my custom Page Layout. When I input values on this field, it also displays the html tag in the display form. Do you have workaround for this? Thanks. :)

Thanks for your reply. I have tried it and a richtextbox was displayed on my page layout but just got a problem upon saving and publishing the page, I think the values that I entered in the control can't be saved. I just went back in using the RichTextField
and made a workaround by creating a script that will hide the html tags showing in my Display and Edit Form page.
