HTML Tag span lang="EN-GB"

Hi,
I have the HTML tag <span lang="EN-GB" xml:lang="EN-GB"> everywhere in my project.
Can I get rid of this with search and replace and if so what do I replace it with?
(Working with RH9 but projects originate from RHX5)
Thanks
Morven

HI Peter,
First of all thanks again for your help with the offline question.
Regarding the <span lang="EN-GB" xml:lang="EN-GB"> - I just had a look at the RHX5 files and there there are a lot of  <span lang=EN-GB> tags.
These files originate from even before RHX5 so who knows where these tags came from - been around for ever.
Will try your suggestions below.
Thanks
Morven

  • How to use Microsoft Word's Find and Replace with HTML tags?

    Hello to all!
    I'm trying to figure out how to use the find and replace function in Word to replace html tags. I'd like to be able to change something like this:
    <span class="B01-K-ITAL">random text</span>
    To something like this:
    <em>random text</em>
    I want to replace the open and close tags without changing or interfering with the text between the tags. I'm pretty sure I should use wildcards, but I can't figure out how to use them properly.
    Anyone able to lend a hand?

    Here is my latest regular expression with Perl.   I think it matches the spirit of the request in the original post.
    Note, this isn't as easy as you think.  You need to code up the complete set of html rules in you implementation. You need to allow for a certain amount of mal-formed html.

  • Unable to handle html tags in BI publisher trial edition

    Hi,
    I am very new to BI publisher and having issues reading rich text field from database and reading into the report.
    BI Publisher - 11.1.1.6 trial edition
    test case: I have a rich text field that stores html tags in the database. I have created a data model using sql query and am selecting rich text field from the database. When trying to display that field on the report in BI publisher I get the html tags.
    I even tried Tim Dexter solution mentioned in the below blog but now when I run the report nothing shows up for that rich text field in the report. I am not sure if I am missing any steps while using html2fo.

    Please help since I am struggling with this for past few days. Also below is the sample xml data where element "PROJECT_DETAILS" is the rich text field.

  • How to use HTML tags inside JSF pages

    I am creating a Menu using dataTable and outputLink in a JSF page.

    Can some one help me, how do i use HTML tags inside <h:dataTable>.
    Or is their any other way i should form my Menus, to fully utilize to HTML tags.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    You can embed the verbatim elements in your datatable, ie,
    <h:dataTable value="#{menuItem.breadCrumb}" var="bread" >
      <h:column>
        <f:verbatim><li></f:verbatim>
        <h:outputLink id="crumbID" value="#{bread.menuLink}">
          <h:outputText id="crumpName" value="#{bread.menuLabel}" style="width: 165px;"/>
        </h:outputLink>
        <f:verbatim></li></f:verbatim>
      </h:column>
    </h:dataTable>

  • Stripping HTML Tags from a String

    What's the best way to remove html tags from a string (i.e. user input)?

    Can you give an example? You can do substring, if your passing spaces between pages you can do a trim to the variable. Also look at the indexOf(). Look at methods relating to java.lang.String.

  • RegExp for replacing specific HTML tags.

    Hi All,
    I need to replace some of the HTML tags in flex.
    for eg:-
    in the follwing html i have to replace "span","div" and "a"
    <h2>AAAAAAAAA<br /><span >BBBBBBBBBBB</span></h2><div><p>QQQQQQ</p><p>EE<br />FFFF<br />TTT<br /></p
    <a href="#">Click</a>
    </div>

    input = "yor html string";
    var urlPattern:RegExp = new RegExp("/(<a)(.*)(</a)/","ig");
    var result:String = input.replace(urlPattern, "<b$2</b");
    var urlPattern2:RegExp = new RegExp("/(<div)(.*)(</div)/","ig");
    var result2:String = result.replace(urlPattern2, "<table$2</table");
    and so on....
    hope this helps ...

  • How to change inner content of HTML tag using HTMLDocument?

    I want to change the inner content of an HTML tag from a HTMLDocument. The tag is like
    <span id ="id1">Replace me</span>.
    So I want to change the text "Replace me" inside the span tag and replace it with an other text.
    I can get the span element using
    HTMLDocument.getElement("id1")
    I have tried many things with the Element instance i got from getElement. But I find no way to change the inner content of the HTML element. Any ideas?

    If I use JDK 1.5 the SPAN tag works, so I checked the core of the problem which is inserting HTML code in an HTML tag.
    setInnerHTML works fine for block tags like DIV but not if the tag is a leaf element like the SPAN tag. I have tried to use the following code for leaf elements:
    Element elem = m_htmlDocument.getElement(id);
    int nStartOffest = elem.getStartOffset();
    int nEndOffset = elem.getEndOffset();
    int nLength = nEndOffset - nStartOffest;
    m_htmlDocument.replace(nStartOffest, nLength, html, elem.getAttributes());
    This works, but only if the new HTML string does not contain HTML tags like a link <href..... >. If the string contains HTML tags the replace method masks all characters like < or >. So the link is not shown as link in the HTML page but as HTML text.
    The next thing I have tried is using
    m_htmlDocument.setOuterHTML(elem, html);
    This works too but it replaces the whole original HTML element like the SPAN tag.
    So there is still the question how to insert HTML text into a leaf Element in a HTMLDocument.

  • Replace everything except in html tags

    I have this little piece of code hilighting words in search
    results, however, it obviously replaces text in html tags as well
    and I want it to omit all html. I've also noticed that
    replacenocase replaces the case of my words...while it does search
    for words no matter the case, I sure wish it wouldn't replace the
    case of the original text. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
    <cfset variables.hiliteSummary =
    ReplaceNoCase(siteSearch.summary,url.criteria,"<span
    class=searchHilite>#url.criteria#</span>","ALL")>

    to fix your issue with case, use a rereplace and
    backreferences:
    rereplaceNoCase(siteSearch.summary, '(#url.criteria#)',
    '<span class="searchHilite">\1</span>', 'all')

  • Java wrapper for html tags

    Hi,
    I need one java wrapper class for html tags. If anyone is having such pls reply.
    Thanks in advance
    Sisir

    Like java.lang.String?
    You use it like this
    String textTag = "text";
    If that isn't what you had in mind then you might want to provide a bit more detail as to what you think it should do.

  • Setting HTML tag defaults

    Using robohelp 10 on win 7
    Is there a way to change or set the HTML tag used by WYSIWYG "formatting" toolbar?
    For example, when i click "bold" using the formatting toolbar it creates a span tag <span style="font-weight: bold;">
    instead of simply using <b> tag.
    I would like to change this attribute so the <b> tag is applied instead of <span>.

    Hi there
    Sorry, but no way I'm aware of to influence this behavior.

  • Define HTML Tag for Parser - Help?

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to write a program which downloads a HTML script, parses it, extracts the links and checks to see which of these links are broken. While the parser is picking up tags that are well-formed, such as:
    Mark Humphrys -
    Research -
    The HTML script has a few malformed HTML tags such as the following:
    <li><b> References </b>
    <li><b> References </b>
    The snippet of code I'm using to try and get these malformed tags is as follows:
         ParserCallback parserCallback = new ParserCallback()
         public void handleText(final char[] data, final int pos) { }
              Tag a = HTML.Tag("a");
              public void handleStartTag(Tag tag, MutableAttributeSet attribute, int pos)
                   if (tag == a)
                   String address = (String) attribute.getAttribute("href");
                        list.add(address);
                   System.out.println(address);
         public void handleEndTag(Tag t, final int pos) {  }
         public void handleSimpleTag(Tag t, MutableAttributeSet a, final int pos) { }
         public void handleComment(final char[] data, final int pos) { }
         public void handleError(final java.lang.String errMsg, final int pos) { }
         };but I keep getting the error that they can't find the Tag() method. At the start of my code I have:
    import javax.swing.text.html.HTML;
    import javax.swing.text.html.HTML.Tag;so I don't understand why the compiler can't find the method. Is there something wrong with the way I'm using it?
    I have very little experience with this area so any help or pointers would be great!

    Sorry, the exact error message is:
    cannot find symbol,
    symbol: constructor Tag(java.lang.String)
    location: class javax.swing.text.html.HTML.Tag
    HTML.Tag a = new HTML.Tag("a");
    ^
    it should of course be a constructor not a method but the compiler still can't seem to find it. The proper code (in as much as I can tell although it still isn't working)
         ParserCallback parserCallback = new ParserCallback()
         public void handleText(final char[] data, final int pos) { }
              HTML.Tag a = new HTML.Tag("a");

    But i dont know how to use it in my problem. If any one know how to do it. reply this.If you have a big, long string with HTML content in it you might try splitting on a regex like so:
    String html = ...
    String[] imgTags = html.split("<img.*?>");[http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/String.html#split(java.lang.String)|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/String.html#split(java.lang.String)]
    to get your image tag data and then parsing that to get the src attribute. You can either treat this problem as a big string-parsing problem, or getting some HTML DOM library and using that to structure the page as a tree for easier access.
    If you want more help you'll have to show the code you have so far. We can't write this for you.

    I make a subclass of HTMLDocument with name EditableHTMLDocument :
    import javax.swing.event.*;
    import javax.swing.text.*;
    import javax.swing.text.html.HTMLDocument;
    class EditableHTMLDocument extends HTMLDocument{
         public void addAttributes(Element e, AttributeSet a) {
              if ((e != null) && (a != null)) {
                   try {
                        writeLock();
                        System.out.println("SHTMLDocument addAttributes e=" + e);
                        System.out.println("SHTMLDocument addAttributes a=" + a);
                        int start = e.getStartOffset();
                        javax.swing.text.AbstractDocument.DefaultDocumentEvent changes =
                        new javax.swing.text.AbstractDocument.DefaultDocumentEvent(start, e.getEndOffset() - start,
                             DocumentEvent.EventType.CHANGE);
                        AttributeSet sCopy = a.copyAttributes();
                        MutableAttributeSet attr = (MutableAttributeSet) e.getAttributes();
                        changes.addEdit(new AttributeUndoableEdit(e, sCopy, false));
                        attr.addAttributes(a);
                        changes.end();
                        fireChangedUpdate(changes);
                        fireUndoableEditUpdate(new UndoableEditEvent(this, changes));
                   }finally {
                        writeUnlock();
    And this is the method of program main class than call you addAttributes method:
