Html tags in forms 9i

Is it possible for me to use the above html tag in oracle forms in any way?
I want to use this tag to talk to my desktop from Forms9i, read a file and load data into a database table.
We dont have webutil configured yet.

Forms is a Java Applet on the client that doesn't knwo about html tags. If you need to upload file, then WebUtil is what you need to configure.

I´ve got the following problem that emails sent by the Muse CC form widget are shown as html-code or html-tags in my inbox.
Though the message contains all filled in data this is a quite unreadable format similarily as in post http://forums.adobe.com/message/5818028#5818028
I already read the discussions here in the community but as it seems the issue though already known seems not be fixed yet nor does any of the answers which refer to the ISP configurations regarding message handling apply to me. Actually this is a first time issue with mails - haven´t had this problem up to now so I guess it´s a Muse thing.
Though the mail is shown in some kind of html-tag format as mentioned it is actually marked as "text only" message?
Furthermore the message is UTF-8 so there shouldn´t be any problems with special characters either but also German consonants like "ä,ü,ö" are not formatted correctly.
I am using Windows 7, Outlook 2013 by the way.
The Muse site was exported as html and then uploaded via ftp, I am not using catalyst.
No idea what´s going wrong here hopefully someone has a solution to this problem.
Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

anyone know how I can get it to drop all the extraneous html
crap? - I just want the input text items.
Also I can't figure out how to do a flash pulldown list as a
form element... all tutorials I find on the sbject are for Flash 5
and say to use Smartclips from the common librarirs tab - but there
are no "smartclips" in my Flash CS3. I see other things in
components (menu, list) - but cannot figure out how to add my items
to the list.

is there some way I could use an "expression" to subtract the
unwanted text strings from the info being passed by the variables?
If so, does anyone have an example of the context I would used to
subtract 2 strings from that info...

If I have :TEMPORARY_APPLICATION_ITEM as 'Vikas' it gets displayed properly but if I have '<b>Vikas<b>' it shows null. if it has any HTML tags function l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue is not working properly .Please tell me what modiifcation can I use in function l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue to get Values with HTML tags also to get displayed.

So when i tried to show the information my .rtf template nothing comes out. Does anybody knows whats happenig and how to resolve it??

How to use Microsoft Word's Find and Replace with HTML tags?

I'm trying to figure out how to use the find and replace function in Word to replace html tags. I'd like to be able to change something like this:
<span class="B01-K-ITAL">random text</span>
To something like this:
<em>random text</em>
I want to replace the open and close tags without changing or interfering with the text between the tags. I'm pretty sure I should use wildcards, but I can't figure out how to use them properly.
Anyone able to lend a hand?

I have a situation here. We have an application which prints out Reports with a few lines of text in it. This text is entered by the user through our forms application in a field. That particular text is stored in each row of a particular long column. Here I want to modify the text, while printing, on the report like underline, bold, italics etc,.
As of now I am using the HTML tags, in the forms, to do so as most the times the text in the report is same.
I want to know if this can be done by the user itself while he is entering the data in the field through the form.

How to include HTML tags in a success message?

I have seen a few posts on this topic in the past, but have not seen a definitive response...apologies if this has been answered.
I would like to have a dynamic process success message that includes some HTML tags in it - in this case an anchor tag that can jump the user back to the object he/she just edited.
So, I build up a dynamic success message in a page variable - say P10_SUCCESS_MSG - and set the Process Success Message field in the relevant Process to &P10_SUCCESS_MSG.
The problem is that when the page template substitutes in my message for #SUCCESS_MESSAGE# it looks like it also escapes any HTML tags, so the markup gets displayed literally on the page.
Is there any recommended way to override or get around this behavior?

I just noticed that it looks like the success message is passed around on the URL - when I look at my URL after a successful form process, I see &success_msg=BIG_UGLY_ESCAPED_SUCCESS_MSG_HERE embedded in the URL. If this is the case, I can see why - technically - it ends up getting escaped. Looks like I may have to figure out my own hack for success message processing - maybe some weird post-processing of a placeholder success token that I replace in a page 0 process or something...

How to add a HTML Tag in OBIEE 10.1.3.2.1?
In Dashboard object we are not getting any HTML option in this version.
In 10.1.3.4 we are getting the HTML check box in the 'Text' dashboard object.
Please suggest how to add HTML tag in 10.1.3.2.1.
Actually i am using some date prompts in different pages with calendar option.
Now the requirement is that the user have to select the date from the calendar and the box should be non editable.
What should be the code to achive it?

It is working in some pages but not working in some pages.
In the date prompt we have used 'Between' option so there are 2 fields to enter data.

Html tag(such as hr ) in f:view

Hi all:
i found that html tags such as <hr> in <f:view> will get a result unexpected!

the result is the line(produced by <hr> tag) appear before the output label "Changing your password"(generated by <h:outputText> tag)?!
Does anybody know why?

Html tags in oracle reports

If fields of tables in my database contain html tags such as 'H2O' (here is html tag 'sub') or 'sometext'(here is html tag 'b') how can I to make Report Builder 6i to understand these tags? In other words - can Report Builder understand and treat html tags to format output layout?
Or how in another way I can format a part of text inside the field?
Example:
The below text comes from database and contains html tags.

Depending on your requirements, you can do one of the following:
1. In Reports Builder, you can set the default values for the DESFORMAT system parameter to HTML, DESTYPE to FILE and DESNAME to the desired output file name, in the object navigator. Now, running the report will generate it to the HTML file, instead of displaying it in the previewer.
2. If you are using the command-line executables, 'destype=file' and 'desformat=html' arguments will produce HTML output (using rwcli60, rwcgi60 or rwrun60) to the file specified by desname.
3. If you calling Reports from Forms, desformat=html should be included in the run_report_object call.

Smartform with text containing html tags

I am reading from a table that contains html tags like

and each line is stored in a different row. The customer has agreed to use only 3 of the above html tags (

When the output is previewed in smartforms, the html tags needs to be formatted and not print in raw format as follows:

now u define two text element one with bullet and another without bullet. this is how u insert bullet:
goto to the texteditor of a text element in smartform. Its a small button on the left hand side of.
Then goto insert>characters>sap symbols.

Remember these icons or symbols whatever u will not be able to see in print preview....u have to take a print
and see

if the line has the tag then display ur text in the text element with bullet
otherwise
display it in the non bullet text element..
remeber to remove the tag before dispalying

Can some one help me, how do i use HTML tags inside <h:dataTable>.
Or is their any other way i should form my Menus, to fully utilize to HTML tags.

You can embed the verbatim elements in your datatable, ie,
<h:dataTable value="#{menuItem.breadCrumb}" var="bread" >
<h:column>
    <f:verbatim><li></f:verbatim>
    <h:outputLink id="crumbID" value="#{bread.menuLink}">
      <h:outputText id="crumpName" value="#{bread.menuLabel}" style="width: 165px;"/>
