HTMLDB V2.0 Rollover Expandable Menus

Hi HTMLDB Team
You've done a GREAT job on V2 from what I've seen so far. Love it! The interface is much cleaner and not so "all over the place" .
Bit slower than 1.6 though.
I really like Rollover Expandable Menus (or whatever they are called) on the large icons in V2. Are they written in Javascript? If so can we get access the code for them? Could someone put up a HOW TO on them?
regards
Paul P

makeHello,
When creating a list item you can select a Parent List Entry.
We don't automaticly update your theme templates, we didn't want to break any existing applications people have made, so you actually have to switch themes twice to upgrade the your theme. As cumbersome as it sounds it's actually the best way as all themes have html / css and image fixs along with the new templates.
Steps.
Switch to Minimal Theme
Delete Green Theme
Recreate Green Theme
Switch Back
Otherwise you have to cut and paste templates and link in some new css code.

  • Help with collapsible/expandable menus

    I am creating a webpage with collapsible/expandable menus and am having problems with ones of the menus (the menus I am talking about are labelled as BlackBerry, Smartphone, etc). When I open the webpage, I want the collapsible menus to be closed until you click on the header image, but one of them always opens automatically. Please see the webpage I am working on, www.scomputing.com/mobility.html ... I am having problems with the 'Superphone' menu.

    You need to add -  $('.Superphones_Table').hide();  - to the scripts.js file (see below)
    $(document).ready(function(){
                              $('.Ultimate_Webhosting_Package_Table').hide();
                              $('.Free_Webhosting_Table').hide();
                              $('.Ecommerce_Webhosting_Table').hide();
                              $('.BlackBerry_Table').hide();
                              $('.Smartphone_Table').hide();
                              $('.Superphones_Table').hide();
                              $('.Phones_Table').hide();

  • Expanded menus after SPS16 installation

    Hello,
    upgrading portal from SPS15 to SPS16 seems to have changed something inside visual appearence of roles inside detailed navigation.
    SPS15 shows the basic structure of a role (built on several worksets, pages etc.) which could be expanded on users request inside detailed navigation (left frame).
    Since SPS16 first menu inside detailed navigation seems to be expanded automatically when accessing a role via top level navigation.
    Is there a way to keep the detailled navigation compressed by default (basic structure as shown in SPS15)?
    Regards,
    Jens

    Thanks everyone for your keen attention. The good news is that it is NOT Adobe causing the issues. I did another formatting of my HD and reinstallation, and the problem is now showing without CS5 in the picture.

  • How do I make my FLV work behind rollover menus?

    I'm working with an Iframe code which plugs in to a

  • IWeb Improvement Suggestions

    Thought I'd post this here to see what everyone else thinks. I originally sent the email to the iWeb Feedback address. (BTW, I know that you can upload only updated pages to a third-party host, but, let's face it, it's a needlessly real pain in the neck.)
    "Hi,
    I've been using iWeb since about a week after it first came out in '06. I've been very happy with it -- despite some issues, some of which were fixed in the '08 version (like knowing when text is being converted into an image) -- and have stuck with it, despite investigating RapidWeaver and SandVox. Basically, I know the app pretty well by now but lately I've noticed a few things that are missing or could be improved.
    a) You have got --simply got to -- allow people FTPing to outside hosts to publish only updated pages. This is the Number One complaint among experienced users, I think. I understand that you're trying to push people in the direction of .Mac hosting, but you're not persuading anyone (I have a .mac account, by the way). Your servers are way too slow to handle real websites and all you're doing is seriously irritating users. I came pretty close to switching to RapidWeaver SOLELY because of this pointless bit of aggravation. I saw a couple of other guys a few days ago on your forums writing that they had in fact gone to RapidWeaver for this reason and were dropping iWeb as a result. In short, in this respect, RapidWeaver (or any web-design app) beats the pants off you.
    b) The Zoom facility needs major attention. When I'm working with iWeb I find myself leaning in to the screen to focus on one small part of the page. You need to integrate a magnifying tool of some sort. This would make things a lot easier for a lot of people.
    c) Along the same lines, I'm hankering for a quick-and-easy "ruler." The blue guidelines you have are fantastic, but when I'm trying to line up things or measure exact distances between objects/text, I really need a ruler to judge pixel distance, etc. When I'm doing at the moment is drawing a line, moving it to the right spot, cutting it to length, and judging from there whether the distance between, say, two text boxes is appropriate. This is an unnecessarily onerous and time-consuming process -- and it's not even that accurate.
    d) I'm a journalist and author, and I'd really appreciate some templates/themes that captured "writing" stuff: typewriters, pens, quills, paper, gold-embossed letters, and NEWSPAPER-TYPE COLUMNS.
    e) You need clearer and more obvious instructions to help people learn about web-safe fonts. The flood of queries and comments in the Forums from people wanting to know why their website looks different in Explorer is neverending. The problem is that they blame iWeb, not Explorer, which is an admittedly atrocious browser. What I would really like is some ability to "see" the iWeb website in various browsers BEFORE I publish it to a folder or .mac. There must be some way of replicating a browser-shot within iWeb so that people's frustration would be immensely reduced at the outset. What's happening now is that I have to publish to a folder, upload it via CyberDuck to GoDaddy, then check out what the site looks like in PC Explorer and Firefox. If something small needs to be changed, I have to do it all over again -- and since you refuse to allow us to publish only altered pages, this whole process of changing one tiny thing can take up close to an hour. And my website's only about six pages long! I don't even want to think about what happens if you have 36 or 56 pages.
    f) Please oh please oh please introduce expanding menus, accordions, and the like . . .
    g) What is up with the inability to handle more than a single Site at a time and being unable to split them up before publishing? Thank goodness for the third-party developers who have come up with ways to get around this, but to tell you truth, they shouldn't need to. Fix this asap.
    h) The Blog pages need work. I tried to start a blog for the website using iWeb and, though it looks OK, I've edging heavily towards only providing a link to WordPress or Blogger and keeping it there instead. Why? Because, I'm using the Darkroom template (which comes with Futura font) with Trebuchet (because Futura is not web-safe, thanks to Mr. Bill Gates, meaning that I have to change everything to an image). Now, on the Entries page, Trebuchet works fine, but on the landing Blog page, no matter how many times I change the font to Trebuchet and save, it always reverts to the Futura default as soon as I leave it in IWeb and come back -- which of course will lead to problems with Explorer. On top of that, if I have to update the blog, say, twice a day, your rule on publishing and uploading every single page again makes the whole blogging thing a real chore. I'd vastly prefer keeping the blog on my own website, but you're kind of forcing my hand.
    i) OK, that's about it."

  • A solution for Navigation Menu Problems

    Many people have been complaining about iWeb messing up its rollover navigation menus at the top of each webpage. This phenomenon usually occurs when one has an existing site, and attempts to add another page to the site, thus requiring the menu at the top to be changed. What you will see if you visit the page is an incorrect navigation menu. The item may be cropped funny. Or it will show the wrong item name for a particular link. Or you will see duplicate names. Or the rollovers won't match the unhilited item names.
    There seems to be a problem that sometimes occurs in which iWeb is unable to overwrite the previous versions of the navigation menus on your page up on the .Mac volume. If you run into this problem, this is how you fix it.
    - Log into you iDisk. Navigate the folders to get to the offending page folder. The path will be Web/Sites/iWeb/your page name/your page name_files/
    - Inside this folder you will see a series of png images which begin with navbar_. Select them all, and drag them to your trash can. They will be immediately deleted.
    - Return to iWeb, and publish your page again. This will replace the navbar images with the updated versions.
    This seems to work reliably. Anyone else have any experience with this technique?

    Narly
    There are various different approaches to this, which one really works, anyones guess!
    The number one suspect is the cahing on the .mac servers, see my site, my bar is all over the place I made the changes last night! (Or the cahce of your own isp)
    Peviously discussed options:
    1. Clear your browser cahce, a few times!
    2. Get someone else to hit you site, I did and I saw "menu look watch watch contact"
    3. Using inspector, Page Tab, uncheck the box "Include page in navigation menu", publish your site, then recheck the boxes and republish.
    4. Make a change to each page, move an image one pixel left and then back again and republish.
    5. Press the Option key, between the ctrl + Apple key, while you select Publish, it changes Publish to Publish All Pages, kind of a forced refresh.
    But generally its trial and error, and time!

  • SPRY Horizontal Menu CSS control

    I am using spry 1.6 (upgraded) on dreamweaver CS3. I created
    a horizontal SPRY menu within a div and I want to center the menu
    within the div using CSS. I can't seem to get this to work. I would
    have thought applying "margin: 0px Auto;" to the ul.horizontalMenu
    (sp?) class in the Spry CSS file would have done the trick but it
    seems to ignore the auto. I can put say 0px 20% and it works but
    this does not compensate for possible expanding menus. I know this
    is a newbee question but that is what I am.
    Thanks for the help in advance
    Terry

    Hi,
    The original CSS has been very carefully composed so that it will work in all browsers. If you make any changes to the original and you do not know what you are doing, you are asking for problems.
    When I look at your first set of rules and I see the following marked in red and a rules marked in green that are left out, then I know you will have a problem:
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal
        padding: 0;
        list-style-type: none;
        font-size: 100%;
        cursor: default;
        width: auto;
        background-image: url(myImage.jpg); // rename the image to your own
        background-repeat: repeat;
        vertical-align: bottom;
        float: none;
        position: absolute;
        margin: auto;
    Keep in mind that the original stylesheet has no browser issues. Any changes that you make are for your account and have basically nothing to do with Spry.
    My suggestion to you is, make a copy of the modified stylesheet for reference, then put back the original stylesheet. Consequently, make a new stylesheet called myStyles.css or similar, and put your changed rules in the newly created stylesheet eg.
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal
         background-image: url(myImage.jpg);
         background-repeat: repeat;
    Then attach this stylesheet to your document after the original stylesheet.
    If you cannot get the required result, merely play around with the rules within myStyles.css.
    I hope this helps.

  • Dynamic functionalities cannot be tested on this tool

    Dynamic functionalities like :Tool tips, flash images, expanding menus and vidoes cannot be tested.

    Hi Shilpa,
    Your statement isn't completely correct. It's true that BrowserLab takes static screenshots of the pages you request and delivers them to your desktop, and as such, comparing more dynamic content is a bit more complex but it's not completely out of the question. I'll address the items you mention separately:
    Tool tips, Expanding menus, etc - By making use of either our Dreamweaver integration or our BrowserLab for Firebug add-on you can take screenshots of tooltips, rollovers, expanding menus, substates of the page and similar types of things.
    With Dreamweaver you can switch to Live View mode of your page, freeze javascript, and preview local content to see those types of things
    With our Firefox/Firebug integration you can drive the page to the state you'd like to preview and use the hotkey to request a preview of the local content in BrowserLab. You can see some instructions for getting up and running with Firefox/Firebug here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/786305?tstart=0
    Flash images/movies, videos - It's true that BrowserLab is not a good solution for actually testing this type of content. That wasn't considered a real use case for BrowserLab as both swfs and video content generally should not be affected by which browser they are being run in. Also, within the static screenshots BrowserLab returns we should show the position, sizing and a snapshot of thecontents of the swf/video within the page you're testing. That should be enough information to allow you to verify that that content hasn't been adversely affected by any browser's interpretation of the HTML, CSS, or Javascript, shoudn't it?
    Can you explain more about your desire to test video within your web pages through BrowserLab?
    Thanks for your interest, hope this helps,
    Mark

  • My Dock doesn't work

    I have seen this on other posts but have yet to read a answer that works on this issue. With my dock hiding I can not use the mouse to view the items on the dock while its hiding. I can restart the machine and it will work for a while but then goes back to not working.
    I am on a G5 imac with 1.5 gigs of ram running OS 10.4.4
    I have tried deleting the pref files but still does not work.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hey I was having a similar problem. I'm using a Logitech wireless keyboard & trackball. I love it, but I had to be a little squirlly with it to get it to work. Here's what I wrote in another forum.
    After removing the "com.apple.dock.plist" from my User>Library>Preferences> folder and restarting with ONLY the original optical mouse that came with the computer plugged in I tried the dock and other clicking functions. They all worked great!
    SO, then I took the batteries out of my logitech track ball but left them in the logitech keyboard and I plugged in the Logitech USB reciever. Immediately, the OS came up with a warning, something like "I don't recongize your keyboard!" and it asked me to push the buttons near my shift keys. So I did and regained full functionality of both the keyboard & optical mouse on the dock and other clicking.
    Everything was working great. Of course, my dock doesn't have any of my normal apps in it, but it was working!
    Then I shut down again, removing the optical mouse and replacing the battery in my logitech wireless trackman. When I started up again, its all working just fine! The Dock pops up and magnification works and hiding works and the expanding menus at the top work...
    I think I'm back to where I was. I'll write more later if I encounter any more problems. I don't know if all the steps above are necessary or even if you have a third party mouse and/or keyboard, but this has worked for me.
    Good luck,
    -John

  • CS3 loses css formatting in design view for non-templated pages

    We recently upgraded to CS3. All of the pages on our site are
    templated except the home page. The home page, when viewed in
    design view in Dreamweaver, looks as if the css styles are missing.
    Sometimes refreshing the view causes some of them to appear, but
    not all. This didn't happen in the old version. And it's not
    happening (so far) on our templated pages. Any ideas?

    DW6x was not the sharpest knife in the drawer and would
    tolerate lots of
    things that DWCS3 will not.
    I suggest you do the following -
    * Change your doctype from this one (inserted by DMX6x, and
    broken) -
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01
    Transitional//EN">
    to this one (valid and complete - the way DMX6x *should* have
    done it) -
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01
    Transitional//EN"
    http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    Now your page will render in Standards mode, and not quirks
    mode (a very bad
    thing).
    * Change this (in your stylesheet) -
    vertical-align: top;
    end FedFAQ
    /* ********************** COLLAPSE/EXPAND MENUS
    to this -
    vertical-align: top;
    /* end FedFAQ */
    /* ********************** COLLAPSE/EXPAND MENUS
    I am sure that by doing this you will see a remarkable change
    in your
    page....

  • Display Scaling - menus expand off of screen

    The Windows 8 feature Display Scaling at 125% causes all sorts of problems for Muse CC 2014:
    Menus will expand off of the screen
    Hyperlinks button is disabled
    Master Pages are not visible in Plan view
    The obvious fix is to change Display scaling:
         a. right click on Desktop
         b. Select "Screen resolution"
         c. Scroll and select "Make text and other items larger or smaller"
         d. Change item size to Smaller or click on "Custom sizing options" and select 150%
    This is an onerous work-around, because if your Display sizing was set to 125% that is probably what worked for your eyes.

    I would contact the app developer.
    The iPad 3 has a higher resolution (2048x1536 @ 264 ppi) than the iPad 2 (1024x768 @ 132 ppi). I assume the app is optimized for the higher resolution.

  • Help with rollover drop down menus

    I created a flash document with rollover drop down menus, but
    the menus some times won't go back up unless you rollover their
    associated buttons again. Also I created a link inside one of the
    buttons on one of the menus, but when you click that button the
    menu stays down until you rollover the button again. Some times 2
    menus will be down at the same time. Can anyone help me fix these
    problems? I'm a beginner and this is the first flash movie I've
    ever made.

    There is a lot of documentation on the web describing techniques to implement "Cascading Dropdown lists in Excel".
    A few starting points that may be helpful:

  • Rollover menus dont work in latest firefox version

    Recently, rollover menus (specifically on espn.com) have not been working. They work fine in IE, but FF is not working. Previously, links that had rollover menus come up, simply dont anymore. I cant find a fix for this, any suggestions?

    Those rollover menus are created via JavaScript, so make sure that you aren't blocking JavaScript.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/JavaScript
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/JavaScript
    Also check your security software (firewall, anti-virus) to make sure that it isn't blocking such files if it happens with a new profile as well.
    Try to do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
    Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 18.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
    Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
    *Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

  • How can I expand the stage (in one direction) on rollover? Or click?

    Hello,
    I'm looking to create an expanding/collapsing HTML5 banner using Edge Animate.
    For example, say I start with a 728x90 banner. How can I make the stage expand (from the bottom edge) to 728x270?
    At the moment I'm looking to expand on rollover then collapse back to original stage size on rollout - but in the future I know I'll want the same functionality using a button.
    All help is appreciated, thank you!

    I am on the go for the day but here is a quick routine, using the toggle() method.
    In your case you can't collapse the etage to 0, otherwise you have no way of getting to the second click.
    In my exmple, click anywhere on the stage, it collapses to the minHeight value of 15.
    Click it again and it restores to the predefined height of the stage.
    var minHeight = 15;
    var myStageHeight = sym.$("Stage").css("height");
    sym.$("Stage").toggle(function(){                    // run on first click of Stage
        sym.$("Stage").animate({height: minHeight}, 500 );
    }, function() {                                                   // run the second click of Stage
        sym.$("Stage").animate({height: myStageHeight}, 500 );
    If you are going to apply to an element, say a button, then its going to require you to move (flow) the button to the collapsed position.
    I'll play with that notion later, when I get back.
    Try the above
