HTTP delete method handling / enabling??

Hi, I am a newbie to the WL world and wondering if there is any setup/config required on the weblogic server to enable the handling of HTTP DETELE method or does it all control/manage by the application? I understand web servers like Apache requires specific setup/scripts to handle the DELETE method. What about WebLogic Srvr?

To enable delete, there must be "modify"permission
given to the user account who has access to web
application. By default "IUSR_machinename" windows
account has anonymous access to web application in
IIS. You must have to give "modify" permission to
this acccount on the web application folder.
That's it !!!!! You are ready to send HTTP DELETE
requestsUmmmmmm. This seems a greatly dangerous and stupid
solution!I mean this topic is completely out of scope for this forum and I know not a whole lot about IIS but it seems to me you just set it up so anyone can delete files from your website.
Did you really want to do that?

  • Ask about DELETE method of HTTPService

    Dear all,
I am developing an application to connect to a Photo Web
    Storage on the internet.
and I have delete function to delete a photo.
but when I use a HTTPService (using method DELETE) to send a
    delete request,
it always return an object (that is the photo I want to
    delete).
I think that the HTTPService automatically ridirect the
    DELETE function to GET function.
so the request brings up the photo
I have a check the Java Client Library, and i realize that
this library has set the strictPostRedirect
to true to prevent the convert from DELETE to GET
So my question is: AS3 have a similar properties as
    strictPostRedirect?
    Thank you for help

  • HTTP PUT method not working?

    hi,
i want to use the HTTP PUT request-method to enable data-upload. i have a
servlet that implements the doPut method, gets the content from the request,
and processes this further. this works perfectly fine on my local machine
    using tomcat.
the next step is to deploy the servlets to an iPlanet 6.0 app-server. and
there i run into problems. it looks like the HTTP PUT requests to
/nasapp/<myservletpath> are never passed on the the application server, but
are caught by the webserver, and denied access. see the server-log and
    telnet output:

i was under the impression that the webserver would not 'touch' all requests
to /nasapp/<etc> and simply forward these directly to the app-server. it
looks like this is not the case for PUT (and also DELETE) requests.
does anyone have a clue on how to solve this?
i tried enabling the 'content management' services of the web-server, but
    with no luck.
besides, you want to restrict access if you enable file-upload. but
restriction works on absolute file-paths, and /nasapp/<etc> does not map to
    a 'real' filepath...
    our environment:
    Sun Solaris 2.8
iPlanet 4.1 webserver; using the web-connector
    iPlanet 6.0 sp2 application server

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to use the workflow action “Call HTTP Web Service” to call the SOAP web service in SharePoint Designer.
This is not a soap based web service call. This is a HTTP RESTFul call.
The SOAP web service uses the PUT HTTP method
The Call HTTP Web Service action lets you specify any of several request methods, including
GET, PUT, POST, and DELETE. This lets you tell the web services, specifically
RESTful services, what to do on the service that you’ve specified with the URI property on the activity. For more information, you can refer to the article
Working with Web Services in SharePoint 2013 Workflows using SharePoint Designer 2013.
There are some articles about How to work with web service using “Call HTTP Web Service” action in SharePoint Designer 2013,
you can have a look at them.

  • HT4913 If the music library on my iPhone will be deleted when I enable iTunes Match, does that mean that I will not be able to access that music library when I temporarily turn off iTunes Match on the iPhone, e.g., when on the subway & can't connect to Ma

I have subscribed to iTunes Match and have employed it to listen to music on my Macbook Air and iMac.  On these devices it seems to operate by streaming music to the device rather than deleting the device's current iTunes library and downloading songs as they are played from iTunes Match. Not so on the iPhone as far as I can tell. Consequently, to date I have not activated iTunes Match on my iPhone 4S.  I presently have 40-50GB's of music on my iPhone, sync'd from my iTunes music library on my Macbook Air.  I am concerned that if I enable iTunes Match on my iPhone I will lose the music library already on my iPhone, as Apple seems to be representing that once iTunes Match is enabled on the iPhone the current music library, carefully compiled, will be gone from the iPhone forever (unless I later re-sync it from the iTunes library on my laptop), that it will be deleted.  Although this would free up a lot of space on my iPhone, I bought the 64GB phone just so that I could keep a lot of music on it and accessible at all times.  I am concerned that in certain instances, say if I am in the subway and want to listen to music on my iPhone but  don't have internet access below ground, that I won't have much music to listen to, only those songs previously played and thus downloaded onto the phone from iMatch, presenting me witrh a rather limited choice of music to play instead of the 40-50GB's I now have to choose from. Apple seems to have presented me with the choice of the lesser of 2 evils: i) enable iTunes Match and lose the music library already on the iPhone in exchange for access to iTunes Match and a greater number of songs than I can fit onto the phone (my library exceeds the phone's capacity) when a Cloud connection is available or ii) don't enable iTunes match and limit myself to only those songs, a considerable portion of my library to be sure but not all of it, that I can fit in the phone's storage space, i.e., the 40-50 GB's I have on there now.  If I choose the latter course, each time I purchase an album I'll have to delete another album to make room for it on the phone.  Apple thus offers me a sort of Hobson's choice, bad all the way around.  Do I have this right? The Apple techs I've spoken to don't seem to have a handle on the "deletion" aspect of enabling iTunes Match on the iPhone.   Right now, I'm too scared of "losing" my iPhone music library to enable iTunes Match on the iPhone. [Possible work-around, albeit a pain in the ***: I suppose that I can enable iTunes Match on the iPhone and spend the next couple of weeks 24/7 downloading songs from my iTunes Match library back onto the phone to replace at least some of those deleted when Match was enabled, thereby rebuilding a proxy library on the phone itself to play when I'm stuck in a tunnel between Brooklyn and Manhattan while maintaining access to thee larger iTunes Match library, more music than my phone will hold, once we come back into the light and my Cloud connection is restored.] Comments, suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Dynamic URL for Recv HTTP (Adapter spec attribute enabled)

    Hi,
I need to have a dynamic URL for one of my cases been worked. the URL is
    httlp://:<host>/perform/XTA?serv=*&action=start
the event "action" can accept either start/stop or restart. i wanna to control this dynamically and went for recv http enabled with adapter specific message attributes. here i had enabled the check box "URL" and in parameter 1 i had given the name as "action".
in my message payload the "action" will be start/stop or restart which is handled by UDF for which the code is below:l
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey trig = DynamicConfigurationKey.create( "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/HTTP", "UrlParamOne");
    conf.put(trig,action);
    return "";
this udf is mapped to the root node of the target...but when execute the case i get the following error
"Dynamic Header - Missing Message Attributes: URL/HTTP Destination"
    when i execute the url
    httlp://:<host>/perform/XTA?serv=*&action=start
in browser it works fine and also with fully qualified name in http recv works fine but not with dynamic settings.
    any help on it pls?

    Hi Prabhu,
Enable Adapter-Specific Message Attributes(ASMA) in receiver HTTP channel.
Dont enable checkboxes for "URL or HTTP Destination".
    Enable checkbox "Apply URL Parameters"
for parameter1 textbox give value action

  • Business Service with multiple HTTP Request Methods

    hi all -
I'm new to OSB and trying to prototype a solution. I have a service provider that exposes a number of HTTP operations (GET/PUT/POST/DELETE). It's a JAX-RS implementation.
I was looking to create 1 proxy service and 1 business service for that service provider. But, within my business service, I must chose a 'HTTP Request Method' and it allows only 1 type (either GET, PUT, POST, DELETE). So, I have something working, but only for a single type (POST in my prototype). I figure I could create more proxy and business services for the other HTTP Request Methods, but I'm not sure if this is the correct approach (design/architecture).
My other thought was to create a proxy service to front the service provider, but looking at the documentation, it looks like there should be a business service for each proxy service. If it's possible to use a proxy service without a business service to mediate the service provider, where would I add my URLs for the service provider in the proxy service.
My apologies on the 2 part architecture/design question. I thought the group would help with getting me started.
    thanks jim

  • How to disable PUT/DELETE method in SMC tomcat

    Hi,
SMC provides tomcat as the web server to allow logon the SMC console through IE.
For security consideration, we have to disable the http "PUT" and "DELETE" method of tomcat. Its config file seems to be /opt/SUNWsymon/web/conf/catalina.policy, but I have no knowledge of this file.
Do anyone know how to disable PUT/DELETE method in tomcat? Or provide me a reference book for this issue?
    Thanks a lot.

For security consideration, we have to disable the
http "PUT" and "DELETE" method of tomcat. Its config
    file seems to be
    /opt/SUNWsymon/web/conf/catalina.policy, but I have
no knowledge of this file.I'm not sure how to disable that feature, but be aware if you disable the ability for Agents to send files to the SunMC web server you may break all Configuration Tasks. Agent config files are sent to the Server by HTTP to allow them to be stored as templates/snapshots.
I don't remember seeing instructions on how to make the changes you want: the quickest way to find out is probably to call SunMC support.

  • HttpService Put and Delete methods support

    Hello,
HttpService doesn't seem to be supporting PUT and DELETE methods. The trick of using "X-HTTP-Method-Override" did send the request as PUT/DELETE request. But the server side code is unable to detect it as PUT/DELETE request. The server side code is in PHP and uses FuelPHP Framework.
Can anyone please suggest a way by which the request can be sent as PUT/DELETE such that it can be identified as same PUT/Delete request.
    Thanks

  • How to send message using Head,PUT,DELETE method

we can use Get,Post method in a form, but how to use Head,Put,DELETE method to submit. I try to use "method=head" in form tag, and write some code in doHead() method in servlet, but after I submit the form, the doHead() is not called by the servlet.

In HTML there is no Tag that support HEAD or PUT. You might create your own HTTP Client and implement HEAD and PUT Requests. Have a look at the HTTP Protocol to learn what they are used for and how they are to be implemented.

You will need to write the WSDL by yourself. Just make sure you have the end point detail, operation name(if required) and the schema available to write the WSDL.

  • Retrieving image using HTTP GET method?

I want to send a image to a client browser. My servlet's HTML response to the client browser contains the <img src="..."> tag. The client browser uses the HTTP GET method to call my servlet's DoGet method, and I must transfer the desired image to the client browser in this DoGet method at servlet. Now, the problem is that, what should be the source URL in the image(img) tag that is present in my servlet response to client?
For eg: the img tag should be like this
    <img src="http://<hostname>:<portname>/<servletname>/...?[var1=value1]">
Now at the ellipsis that you see in the above source URI, I want to write the type of image file (something.jpg) ,so the browser knows what kind of image file it is.

To give you a better idea on what's happening, read the RFC:

    (HTTP/1.1 - compressed data)
    http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec9.html
If you for example execute the command by telnetting to port 80 on a server:
    GET http://somewhere.com/some.jpg HTTP/1.0<cr>
    <cr>You will get this header:
