HTTP Destination Missing issue in  Application Servers(ERP)

Hi All
When i'm trying to trigger the message from ERP to XI, I'm getting error message as HTTP destination missing in ERP system.
I've created the HTTP Destination & added in SXMB_ADM.
Still I'm facing the problem,
Please let me know the reason.....

Hi Venu,
Thanks for ur replay
I've checked
SLDCEHCK

  • HTTP destination PI_INTEGRATIONSERVER missing (system , transaction SM59)

    Hi Experts,
I am working on ABAP Proxy -> File scenario. When I trigger message in ECC, it is giving error.
When I go to SXI_Monitor in ECC, the message is shown as red with error message "HTTP destination PI_INTEGRATIONSERVER missing (system , transaction SM59)". But the RFC destination PI_INTEGRATIONSERVER exists and when i tested this connection I got 500 empty request received message.
I have configured in SXMB_ADM the ECC system as application system and mentioned 'dest://PI_INTEGRATIONSERVER' as corresponding integration server.
Could you please help me in resolving this issue?
    Thanks and regards,
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad,
Ensure below items in your ECC system.
    1. goto SM59
    2. ensure your RFC - PI_INTEGRATIONSERVER has this entry '/sap/xi/engine?type=entry' (without quots)
    3. Target Host has value your PI/XI hostname and correct port number (HTTP)
4, for Logon& Security Tab, ensure to use userID PIAPPLUSER and correct password (saved)
or Service user of Integration engine (maintained in Exchange profile)
You can write back to me if any further help required.

  • Issues with sharing a single OID with two Application servers (9.0.4)

We have two installations of 9.0.4 Application Servers and both share the same OID. We use Oracle Portal for deploying our jsp applications.
All users in the OID are sync'ed from Microsoft Active Directory.
Application Server 1 is for an application X
Application Server 2 is for an application Y
We create groups in the portal of Application Server 1 specifically for Application X. DEF_GROUP1 is default group for all applications in application X
    DEF_GROUP1 has a default page - Page 1. DEF_GROUP 1 does not exist in Application server 2
We create groups in the portal of Application Server 2 specifically for Application Y. DEF_GROUP2 is default group for all applications in application Y
    DEF_GROUP2 has a default page - Page 2
DEF_GROUP2 does not exist in application server 1
We have users who access both application X and applicaiton Y
For a user "JOHN" we assign DEF_GROUP1 in the user profile on the portal in Application Server 1
When we go to the user profile of "JOHN" on application server 2, we find that DEF_GROUP1 is a default group in the user profile of user "JOHN"
If we change it DEF_GROUP2, then the default group on the portal of application server 1 automatically changes to DEF_GROUP2.
Why is this so ? We would like to have a different default group for the same user in the two portal repositories. ?
Can any one provide some insight into this issue ?

Basically I started to develop this system inside Oracle AS and then when it came time to passing a request to a new page, it crapped out on me on the App. Server. So instead of trying to fix the problem there and then I continued to develop outside Portal and inside Jdeveloper. After a week or two once all my stuff worked perfectly I try and take it back into Portal but only the first JSP of all my Portlets would show up, because as soon as I would submit a form and the action directed me to a new page and Portal would be lost/confused. Obviously I shouldn't have done it that way but none the less...
So now I'm reading through the documentation you pointed me towards and it seems I have to qualify my parameters and then "attach" them to the url which the form will pass to the actioned page. I'm importing numerous classes (...urlUtils, etc) in order to qualify the parameters and then build this url without affecting any parameters currently present that my portlet does not own.
What I'm rambling towards here is all this separation of logic and presentation and the whole nine, implies different people can develop different parts of a 'system' mostly independant of one another...so in my situation I shouldn't in huge trouble yet, since underlying everything is a working system. My issue is with oracle and the App Server. If I take my code which works great outside of the App. Server and I fully qualify parameters and make sure my form actions are constructed using the UrlUtils in order to fully qualify them as well, and then I make sure page parameters are mapped to the proper portlet parameter values....should my system work on the App Server (assuming everything is done properly)....or am I still missing something.

    Hi Michal,
I´m passing the URL to the attribut "TargetURL" by using a UDF in my mapping.
In the adapter I have flagged "URL".
So the value of TargetURL set in mapping shoul be used as destination in the adapter.
Please have a look onto my UDF used in MM:

  • Session cleanup issue with multiple Application servers

    Hi ,
I am facing a strange problem with multiple application servers. The java Webdynro session does not get cleaned up completely when user closes the browser ( without using logoff ). On re-login it gets handle of old session and then fails for consecutive view on other webdynpro iviews with an invalid session error. It again starts working with a refresh event.
Any ideas/suggestion if you have seen something similar before ?
    Thanks and regards,
    Amit.

    Hi Amit
It seems that issues is not server related, but caused by your client browser. I know, for example, that IE8.0 keeps user session even if two separate browser instances opened on the same client machine. IE 7.0 and lower behave differently - they are separate user sessions per browser instance.

  • Shared object and different application servers - how to resolve this issue

    Dear SDN Members,
We are occuring a big problem. We create a shared object in a program and after we call in an another one. In central system architecture, it is working well. But on a distributed architecture (4 application servers), we have a dump some times. In fact, the read of the shared object can be occured in the AS 4 but the share object has been created in AS1.
How to manage this problem to avoid this dump ?
Dupplicate the shared object in the application servers ?
Encapsulate different calls with RFC link to only one AS ?
Any parameters on server or share objects ?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Points will be given to right or good answers.
    Br,
    Aurélien

What is the dump you are getting ?
AFAIK, "Shared Memory"(SHM) is an area defined in the app server. I am not sure if you can access SHM of a different app server (as in your case trying to access SHM of AS1 from AS4). [http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABENSHARED_MEMORY_GLOSRY.htm]
In this case you can opt for "DataBase Clusters". Relevant ABAP statements: [IMPORT|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPIMPORT_MEDIUM.htm#!ABAP_ALTERNATIVE_4@4@]/[EXPORT|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPEXPORT_DATA_CLUSTER_MEDIUM.htm#!ABAP_ALTERNATIVE_4@4@] FROM/TO DATABASE.
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP R/3 Enterprise : Background job run on application servers

    Hello All,
For our SAP system (SAP_BASIS 620, SAP_ABA 620,SAP_APPL 470), there are 5 application servers and one central instance.
We have a  Background job that connects to external non sap system for data delivery via RFC of Type "G" i.e.HTTP Connection to Ext. Server with port 443 . RFC works fine.
In transaction STRUST, SSL certificates are also installed to enable the https connectivity from R3 system.
Our current issue is that background jon runs on one of the application server correctly and is able to transfer that data to external system. However if same job runs on other 4 application server, it fails to connect to external server and throws error:
    RFC Destination XXXX not defined
    407 Unknown error
Failed to store the XML content
Error in the XML document: 1301540.xml
    407 Unknown error
This is very starnge for us .RFC is working correctly every time but background job works on one AS and not on other AS.
Where and What can be the difference in application servers.
Please help to send in ur replies. Thanks

    Hi,
Is there a firewall between the non SAP system and the SAP system ? It could be that firewall rules have only been set for one only of the SAP application servers ?
Did you check the HTTP connections from each application server ?
Did you check that the ICM is running on each SAP application server ?

  • 10g: HTTP Server and OC4J on different servers?

Can anyone assist with configuring HTTP Server and OC4J on different servers?
I installed AS 10g on both; our application runs fine on one server, with the HTTP Server and OC4J both on the same box.
I need to also test this with the HTTP Server on a separate box.
    I added this to mod_ocj4.conf:
    Oc4jMount /indox-qa1
    instance://cvodev2:oas_dev2.cvodev2.int.sys.com:indox-qa1
    Oc4jMount /indox-qa1/*
    instance://cvodev2:oas_dev2.cvodev2.int.sys.com:indox-qa1
But when I try to access something like http://cvodev4/indox-qa1 I get this in the logs:
[Wed Jul 06 16:54:10 2005] [warn] [client 10.1.1.231] [ecid: 1120683250:192.152.136.127:1248:1544:1,0] MOD_OC4J_0184: Failed to find an oc4j process for destination: instance://cvodev2.int.camsys.com:oas_dev2.cvodev2.int.camsys.com:indor-qa1

  • How to maintain HTTP Destinations for Adaptive WebService in Netweaver 7.1

    hi ,
i  am working with adaptive webservices. i hv created HTTP Destinations for Webservices on server. In Netweaver 04s i used to write code as follows
    wdContext.currentNodeTest.modelObject()._setHTTPDestinationName("DESTINATION_NAME");
    just b4 executing modelObject.
But in Netweaver 7.1 , no method _setHTTPDestinationName available for  wdContext.currentNodeTest.modelObject() . I want to change host  for wsdl , as my production and development servers are different. How can i use HTTP Destinations in Netweaver 7.1?

    Kavita,
Are you creating adaptive webservice model, if so then you just need to import webservice model once in your code and when you deploy your application you must define two logical destinations in visual admin.
    DEFAULT_WS_METADATA_DEST
    DEFAULT_WS_EXECUTION_DEST
How to define logical destinations, check out following link:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b2bc0932-0d01-0010-6d8e-cff1b2f22bc7
if you are running application in your development or production server just define these destinations and your application will run smoothly.

  • Disable Cookies in HTTP Destination

    Hi,
Is there a possibility to disable cookies for the visual admin? Because we want to disable this for the HTTP destination service in the visual admin.
    br
    Steven

    Hi,
that is a strange error message.
I don't know how siteminder works but I guess your are using siteminder as SAML identity provider and configured the SAML Login Module in SAP to achieve SSO correct?
For this purpose you need to define a HTTP Destination which is than used as SAML Receiver.
What I do not get is the Cookie Problem.
I don't know exactly how your process flow is but it should be something like
    - Your Client authenticates to your identity provider (let's say siteminder)
    - Any time later you try to access any resource that is configured to support SAML using SAML Assertions (e.g. SAP J2EE)
    - Your identitiy provider will generate an SAML Artifact an redirect you to the destination application (in your case some J2EE Application on SAP that is configured to validate your SAML Artifact (using the SAML Login Module)
=> This initial client request to your identity provider can contain cookies and you cannot avoid this since they are carried and sent by the client (Browser) => I hope this does not cause any problems because it really shouldn't
    Nevertheless:
Your client request containing the SAML Articat (something like http://<j2eehost>:<j2eeport>/YourApp?TARGET=<YourApp>&SAMLArt=<Artifcat created by IDP>
    reaches the engine:
Now the Engine creates an HTTP Post Request to your IDP that contains the SAML Assertion (SAML Assertion Request). This Assertion request also contains the Artifact and it does not contain any cookies!!! Your IDP now validates the Requests and sends an SAML Assertion Response to your engine (The SAML Login Module extracts the User from the Response (This one is carried in the NameIdentifier of the SOAP Message) and authenticates the user if it exists on the J2EE Engine
You finally receive the response of your Destination Application.
I don't really understand the cookie issue:
Maybe it really helps if you allow unsecure connections for SAML in SAP J2EE  (You can enable this under Visual Admin > Configuration Adapter > saml > Settings > AllowUnsecureConnections > true)
so you can use http instead of https. Now use Wireshark or tcpdump or something similar to create a dump of your traffic and analyze it to check where the problem is or maybe send it to me so I can have a look at it.
    Hope this helps
Let me know if you need further assistance on this (Reward points for helpful answers are always appreciated )
    Cheers

  • Which application servers are supporting JSF Technology

please let me know which application servers are supporting Java Server Faces Technology, and shall i use the combination of JSF with EJB. if so how can i do?

    Hi Varam99,
I doubt you will get an official word on who is supporting but you can look at the list of participants in the expert group and get a good feel for who is interested.
As far as using JSF with EJB's you should look at http://www.corej2eepatterns.com/Patterns2ndEd/BusinessDelegate.htm -- the business delegate pattern. I have also posted several times here on this list WRT this issue of accessing business logic from your JSF application. You can search on 'accessing business logic'.
I also posted a presentation I gave at the http://www.nofluffjuststuff.com -- Chicago event. You can see the slides on my blog @ http://bill.dudney.net/roller/page/bill/20030917#jakarta_pitfalls_real_world_jsf.

  • Networking Application Servers

This is a question for someone with a lot of experience bringing application servers online or for a network engineer who worked intimately to support someone who did.
If I were going to roll out a new suite of applications (JD Edwards EnterpriseOne , for example) , what considerations would I have to make with regard to network architecture and connectivity?
For example, creating a dual-homed server architecture for NIC/switch-port redundancy. Or creating a management vlan, separate from the data vlan, and using a separate NIC for that. Or perhaps placing an application server that has to constantly sieze information from an SQL database server on the same vlan/subnet to avoid layer 3 switching (routing) between hosts on different vlans. Or maybe placing the production servers and dev servers in separate vlans, etc.
The reason I am asking is that I am going to have to help an applications support group make network architecture decisions when they roll out the new suite of applications and associated servers.

    Hi Victor
I haven't worked with EnterpriseOne but i have been heavily involved with an Oracle ERP implementation in our data centre. This involves mid-tier appliction servers talking to back end database servers with load-balacing and firewalling involved. There is quite a bit to cover in your post so please come back if needed.
    1) Dual-honed servers. Absolutely. I'm assuming you would have redundancy with your switch and router architecture so it would be foolhardy not to include server redundancy.
There are a number of ways to do this. Obviously you connect each server to two different switches. You can run NIC's in active/active mode or active/failover. You can use the same IP address for both NIC's or you can have separet IP's.
In our datacentre we use active/failover (fault-tolerant) and use one IP address for the server. If you are firewalling any of these servers using 1 ip address only makes things simpler.
    2) Management vlan. Again absolutely and this becomes even more important if you want to firewall these servers ie.
Lets say for arguments sake you only need to allow ports 80 & 443 through to your mid-tiers. Very easy to firewall. But if you also run your management software on the data NIC's you now have to add in those ports as well and believe me, a lot of server management software was not written with firewalls in mind.
    3) We place our mid-tiers on a separate vlan from the database server. Even if this is an internal only application you stil need to protect the database server. Databases often hold some of the most sensitive, critical information within the company. They should be on a dedicated, preferably firewalled vlan.
The mid-tier/database server architecture makes it easier to protect your database server as you can tie the firewall rules down to only all the mid-tiers to initiate connections to the database server.
I don't know what kit you are using but bear in mind layer 3 switching is not going to be a major performance hit especially if you do firewall the back end.
    4) Production and dev servers should always be on separate vlans and preferably dev should be firewalled off from production. In an ideal world dev should not even share the same switch infrastructure but this is not always possible.
    5) Load-balancing. The mid-tiers have web front-ends running on them. We use load-balancers for
    i) distribution of load
ii) protection against failure of individual servers.
You need to talk your apps people to see if they require that sort of load-balancing.
    6) Firewalling. It all depends on how secure this needs to be. Your application guys might not be the best people to talk to on this. Maybe you have security guidelines on this ?.
We firewall both the mid-tiers and the database servers. Do we need to firewall the mid-tiers - probably not and even Oracle suggested as much but the project insisted at the time.
Do we need to firewall the database server - absolutely yes.
One thing that is worth doing is talking to the company who sells the application, sitting down with them together with your application guys. They should have some recommended best practices as regards security, and to be honest, if they don't you should be questioning why you are using that application.
HTH, please follow up with any more questions
    Jon

  • Good Application Servers?  Struts?  what to do....

Hi all I am currently charged with looking for application servers for my employer. Currently I was playing with JBoss 3.0.4, and it seems kind of cool I really like the ant and xdoclet that it uses. But we don't plan on using EJBs right now, so my question is, when do you need an application server? We don't have one now, all our pages are just on Tomcat. If we should get one what are the benefits, and which ones are good?
Also about Struts, I was wondering if anybody uses sturts, I have read the docs, and it sounds like an interesting way of doing things, but I want to know what others thought about it. So any thoughts?
    Pup

There is no need to implement something complex only if you vaguely feel that it will help you in the future.
The best thing would probably to quantify what your future requirements will be. Then you can determine whether you need to really take the EJB route. While EJB has been the most hyped up technology (at least till Web Services came along), there have been serious performance issues when EJBs have not been used appropriately for questionable reasons or improperly designed.
Of course you can always download an AppServer for free and develop prototypes/proof of concepts to understand them better and to determine whether they offer any significant advantage to you before deciding to reengineer your entire application.
I came across an excellent book from WROX press titled J2EE Design and Development: Expert One on One. There is even a sample chapter available at their site. This chapter gives a fairly good initial idea of whether you need EJBs for you application or not. See the following link:

  • Error in SXI_CACHE and reading HTTP destination: INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI

I have been going over many posts etc trying to figure out why this quit working. Basically everything was working fine, and I did a Integration Process Scenario and uploaded that, once that was complete I started getting cache errors that where affecting everything else already configured in XI.
I have tested in SM59 INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI and when I put in path
/dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext I get back a 200 response on connection test
and put in path /dir/cacheRefresh I get a 500 response which I assume both are fine,
I have also tested by the ping test in sicf using PIISUSER along with the url test of http://<host name>:<port>/dir/hmidiag/ext?method=info all was successful
So the error seems to come when I run sxi_cache
If I do a delta cache it comes up with the following error Prefix number: entry missing for system PIT client 300
If I do a full cache refresh it runs in the background (and while it runs all the other scenario's work) but after the full cache comes back it has Unable to refresh cache contents with the message of Error when reading HTTP destination: INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI.
Also once this error is checked all other scenerio's quite working again with the following message
XIServer:UPDATE:Error when reading HTTP destination: INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    I def award points
    Cheers

    Hi,
I don't know if this is the exactly case we have here... but in our PI DEV and PRD environments it does not happen. In our QAS environment this error occurs everytime we create/change some integration scenario object and activate it. Then, all outbound interfaces start with this error. To solve it we go for a full refresh, delete Adapter Engine cache and restart ICM.
We are trying for a long time to search why this happens only on QAS environment without success... But thanks good it does not happen in PRD
    regards.
