Https enabling problem

hi,
I am doing a web application using tomcat server 7.0.11 which requires to be using the protocol https
So i hav followed the instructions as discussed in the below link:

I am using default SSL configuration rather than APR
but when i access the
https://localhost:8443 it is showing the following error:
"SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)"
but the port 8443 is shown as opened when i checked using telnet
Any help in this problem will be very much grateful since i am in a stuck situation in development.

I haven't used any client code here.
I am currently trying to enable "https " by
1.creating the certificate using keytool command in java
2.configuring the server.xml file in the tomcat server
as per the tomcat tutorial succesful completion of above 2 steps will provide a SSL home page in the browser when we access with https://localhost:8443
but i didn't get that

Hello Pavan,
In the general area of the XCM you should check the HTTPS settings that you have configured. Also maybe check an HTTP trace to see what is happeneing.

We have a scenario based on HTTPS
Sender XI System ======> Receiver XI System
HTTPS
using XI adapter at both the ends.
We need only transport level security (no need of message level).
What certificates needs to be installed on XI systems ??
How many certificates are required ??
Settings to be done in STRUST & VisualAdmin ??
Please reply only w.r.t Transport level security(HTTPS enabling) and not message-level.

I answer to your questions below:
What certificates needs to be installed on XI systems ?? - The public certificates from the receiver XI system
How many certificates are required ?? Minimum 2 - One the public key certificate and another is the CA/root certificate.
Settings to be done in STRUST & VisualAdmin ?? You have to create a connection to the external system in SM59 to the url and actiave SSL. Since you are using HTTP adapter, It will be only required to use STRUST. Only certificate needs to be installed in STRUST and activated, not required in Visual admin. Also do restart the ICM after installing the certificate before testing the connection in SM59 [Its normal to get a 405 error]

JAX-WS support https enabled WebServices

Can anyone confirm if JAX-WS WebServices support https enabled WebServices.If it supports can a link be given to generate the WebServices and invoke the secure WebServices from soapUI client.

Yes, of course it supports https.
If the web app listener the web service is deployed in is listening on https, then a client can send the request using https, and it will be handled that way.

Squid 2.6 - is https enabled in the pkg available from Sun?

I am have problems logging onto adcenter.microsoft.com
As soon as I try to submit my user/pass I get the msg:
"Please enable your Internet browser to accept cookies and make sure that javascript is enabled. If you aren’t sure how to do this, refer to your browser’s Help"
I have done various tests to see if my browers does accept cookies and javascript is enabled, and all is good here.
I also have the plugin Java plugin 2 for npapi 13.6.0. (I am running firefox on mac).
I used to be able to log into the site. not anymore. Since then i must have updated firefox a few times.
I have cleared cache/cookies. I have disabled all plugins/extensions. Still can't get in.
What else can i do?
I have spoken with microsoft adcenter, and all they could tell me was make sure i have the latest java, which i have i guess.

Safari + Parental Controls Enabled = Problem

Not sure whether to post this in Safari or Snow Leopard. Just wondering if anyone has run into the infamous (for me at least) Parental Controls bug that was present in 10.5 and now it seems it's found a way into 10.6.2. I tried to checkout today at the Apple Store online and also at Wal-Mart to get a black friday deal, neither of the processes would go past the "Check Out Now" button where you would enter your address information. I switched to my Guest user account and magically it worked. Remembering that i could not connect to the iTunes store in 10.5 with parental controls enabled i tried disabling the parental controls for my user and voila! It works. Has anyone else come across this? Nothing big just annoying to have to switch users.
Additional info: I only use it so i won't delete dock icons no internet access is limited and nothing else is set except for cannot change password. I tried it with FireFox (don't use it regularly just downloaded it) and got the same result, would not go past to the checkout.

Javascript isn't working, enabled, problem with websites

Hi, I was looking for help from two weeks now. Still can't solve this! :(
My javascript is enabled, reinstalled java.com too. I deleted all my temp, history, cookies, removed add-ons, disabled kaspersky, checked it all in safe mode, installed firefox beta and all that..... now I'm just mad.
The problem is javascript, I suppose, here are examples of sites that are not working for me: wireimage.com (trying to search or click on the thumbnail, where link is javascript:void(); - nothing happens) or viddy.com
ie. http://www.viddy.com/video/b604f3a9-9b7d-4e60-bc7c-7bfe4ba89cf2?source=Featured where I should see play icon and video should load, but all I can see is black image. I have many sites like this. It's buggin me very much, that I'm very close to get chrome and delete firefox forever.

Is this problem new in the beta? Have you considered rolling back to Firefox 16.0.1?
In case some file is irreparably damaged, could you try creating a new Firefox profile? In addition to bypassing current add-ons and custom settings, it should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Close Firefox and from the Windows 7 start menu, in the search box type or paste:
firefox.exe /ProfileManager
Create a new profile accepting the default and giving it any name you like.
After starting up Firefox, test the problem sites. Any difference?
To switch between profiles, close Firefox and restart the profile manager.
To migrate data (selectively) see [[Recovering important data from an old profile]]. Alternately, you could use the Reset feature to auto-migrate key data to a new profile. See [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]].

Sharepoint foundation 2010 externel https access problems

I have a very strange problem with my sharepoint foundation 2010 site.
I have a site which is accessible from outside on https (we have a valid certificate). I configured IIS for http and https.
Also I configured internal and externel access for this site on sharepoint.
But sometimes, the site is not accessible from outside on https with (externe.site.fr), BUT it will be accessible with public ip !!!
And also accessible from inside. (with interne.intranet.site.fr)
Any Idea ?

According to your post, my understanding is that your site is not accessible from outside using external host name with https sometimes.
As your site can be accessible with public IP, however it can’t be accessible from outside using external host name with https sometimes, the issue could be caused by the gateway server in your environment.
I suggest that you need to check the gateway server configuration.

HTTP Adapter - Problem sending message to XI.

We have configured a scenario in IR and ID for the HTTP -> XI -> RFC message flow. We have created all the configuration objects (Receiver determination, receiver agreement, interface determination) in ID except the Sender Agreement (There is no Sender HTTP Adapter). So to trigger this interface we are sending the message to the following URL using a client HTML page.

After submitting the contents in HTML page, it is asking us SAP Web Application Server user id and password. Which user id shall we give here. We have tried giving the J2EE_ADMINISTRATOR user id and it's password but it gives "the requested resource does not exist" error messgage.
How to resolve this problem ?

But there is something else...
You must code special characters such as forward slash (/), hyphen , period (.), or colon ( with escape characters (for example, %2F for /, %2D for -, %2E for .,and %3A for :).

Apache Bridge HTTP POST problems on large file upload

I have a problem uploading files larger than quarter a mega, the jsp
page does a POSTto a servlet which reads the input stream and writes to
a file.
Configuration: Apache webserver 1.3.12 connected to the Weblogic 5.1
application server via the bridge(mod_wl_ssl.so) from WebLogic Service
pack 4.
The upload goes on for about 30 secs and throws the following error.
"Failure of WebLogic APACHE bridge:
IO error writing POST data to 100.12.1.2:7001; sys err#: [32] sys err
msg [Broken pipe]
Build date/time: Jul 10 2000 12:29:18 "
The same upload(in fact I uploaded a 8 MEG file) using the
Netscape(NSAPI) WebLogicconnector.
Any answers would be deeply appreciated.

We are currently migrating our network from IP to MPLS and we encounter an issue with a only one application using security certificat through HTTPS. All other services are OK such as HTTP, FTP, Mailing, etc.
Network description :
The network architecture is composed by 4 core routers (which play the role of P and PE at the same time) and 2 borders routers (B1 and B2) linked to Internet via STM1 - POS interfaces.
Each borders are both connected to two core routers (C1 and C2) by GigabitEthernet links.
Please also note that there is a DPI (Deep Packet Inspector, model Arbor 100) between each border and core.
Core routers C1,C2, C3 and C4 are connected to each other by GigabitEthernet links.
B1 and B2 are linked to Internet by STM1 (POS) using eBGP.
OSPF is used as the infrastructures routing protocol between all equipments.
(cf the network diagram attached)
Configuration :
When migrating to MPLS, we fixed interfaces MTU at 9216 and the MPLS MTU at 1512 on all concerned interfaces from Core to Border routers.
Below is a sample configuration.

Problem :
The service application uses a server on the local network (linked via CE router) which send https requests and files to a server located in the Internet.
When MPLS is activated only on the Core-To-Core interfaces (C1, C2, C3 and C4) the application is working properly.
But when the MPLS is expanded on Core-To-Border / Border-To-Core interfaces, this specific application fails as it appears that the certificate server sees a corrupted frame, some bits have been added to the normal frame. But all other services (HTTP, FTP, everything,)
Below are major differences between Border and Core routers connection schemes:
A DPI equipment between Core and Border,
GibabitEthernet are used for links Border-To-Core and Core-To-Core, STM1(POS) is used for links Border-To-Internet (IP)
The MTU size on STM1 interface is fixed at 4470, MTU size of 9216 is assigned to GE interfaces (Border-To-Core, Core-To-Core)

Would it be possible to disable the functionality of the DPI (passthrough mode?) and test again?
MPLS labels or not on the packet should not make a difference wrt HTTPS only (in theory).
Since you mention corrupted frames, taking a packet capture should show you if this is true or not.

HTTP receiver problem

hi all,
though some of u replied to my previous post regarding http receiver, i'm unable to find a solution for it....so if possible please send me a few snapshots of how a HTTP receiver is configured and a sample jsp program for accesing the payload sent by xi......
the scenario is http>xi->http..the thing is
1)xi gets the input from a web page..this is successfully done.
2)xi does the mapping...this is also successfully done..
3)xi send the mapping result to the http adapter.....problem with configuration i think...i want xi to send the payload to http://sysname:port/virtual-dir/x.jsp .... when it is the case i get some no-mapping error......and i would like to know in what parameter name the payload is fixed in the query string to that url so that i could get it in jsp page a request.getParameter("parametername")......
please do help me in it..i'm struck with it for a long time........thanks in advance...

the code in that uses an Active X object, but if you can align your JSP code to receive the response in similar way, then probably your prob is solved,

I still have few doubts & problem.
1. Do we need to get special permission from
operators for uploading the images or text to server.
I have tried to upload captured images to my server.
But i cann't do with mobile.
2. I am also trying to audio, video streaming. All
these are working with emulator. But not with mobile.
3. Is there are any proceedure to deploy them. I am
using EclipseME plugin. After creating jar files of my
application using obsfucation package, i am just
copying to my server and downloading it from mobile.
Is it correct way?

this project for last 1 week. Nothing seems to be

FYI ( i am using nokia 6600). I have harcoded the
ipaddress of my server for http connection instead of
using domain name. Is it cerating problem.

Dvd-hardware enable problem

well i just bought my MSI G4MX (64MX440-T) i installed it in my system everything just went perfectly but i was just trying to use it to get a better DVD watching time with its DVD - hardware support i used the program Power-DVD Xp version 4.0 & and also media player 7 for windows xp , but i always got an error message saying " An internal error has occurred. " error code "FFFFFFFF" i dunno is it a problem with my G-force card or problem with my DVD drive but i
used to enable the hardware option with my old Gforce2 without any problems .. i tried many different drivers & os's but still the same problem i cant play dvd's with hardware enable so plz anyone had same problem solved plz drop me a msg.. thnx
