HTTPService's send() method gets response only once

Hi,
I have used HTTPService object to get the xml file from
remote place. Following is the mxml file code

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="absolute" viewSourceURL="d:/testfolder/index.html">
<mx:Script>

import mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent;
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
// Result handler - gets called after RSS is loaded.
private function dataResultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void
// Fault handler - displays the error
private function dataFaultHandler(event:FaultEvent):void

</mx:Script>
<mx:HTTPService
id="feedRequest"
url="
http://www.testing.com:8080/my.xml"
result="dataResultHandler(event);"
fault="dataFaultHandler(event);"
useProxy="false"/>
<mx:Panel layout="absolute"
title="External Reference Tag Generation" left="-2"
right="0" bottom="10" top="10">
<mx:TextArea height="292" borderStyle="solid" left="63"
right="62" y="10" toolTip="Generates @ejb.ejb-external-ref tags
using 'LocalHome' import statements of text"
text="{feedRequest.lastResult.niraj.description}" />
<mx:Button label="Submit" id="btnSubmit" left="63"
y="312" click="feedRequest.send();"/>
</mx:Panel>
</mx:Application>
Here, on click of submit button request is send to the given
url "
http://www.testing.com:8080/my.xml"
which returns the xml file of the following format.
my.xml

<niraj>

good

</niraj>
So, text area prints 'good'.
After this I change the content of my.xml file to following

<niraj>

bad

</niraj>
Still when I press submit button, no matter how many times,
text area shows 'good'. I expect it to change to 'bad' on each
click.
Even I tried to handle the 'result' event of HTTPService
using 'datadataResultHandler()', but here still I see old data is
retrieved.
PS: I have hosted url using Tomcat
http://www.testing.com:8080/my.xml
-Niraj

I believe you witness this behavior in IE browser.
To prevent caching of results returned from HTTP calls I
attach to HTTPService URL's foo variable with random integer value
like that:
changeFolderRequest.url = String(ADD_FOLDER_HTTP_DESTINATION
+ "/" + selectedItemNode.@id + "?foo=" +
Math.round(Math.random()*1000));

thanks in advanceTake whatever you need out of the getter method(s) and put it in the constructor method of your bean. Then it only get called once. The getter method should only return the value and nothing else i.e. no database calls, calculations or anything else.
Off topic, perhaps a sticky thread for this topic should be created as I see it being asked numerous times in the last four months.

• What method is called only once in the life cycle?

Hello,
What method is called only once in the life cycle of an Entity Bean and Session Bean?
Is it ejbRemove()?
Thanks

hi,
ejbCreate() and setSessionContext() are called once by the container after the bean instace is created.when the bean instance goes to pool and again return to ready state to handle client requests these methods r never called .only bussiness methods r called.this is in case of stateless session bean.
in case of stateful session bean, each bean instance is associated with client.so,when new client requests, new bean instance is created and above 2 methods are called. no pool terminology in case of stateful session bean.
ejbRemove() is called by the container when it is abt to remove bean instance,so it its obvious tht it is called only once.

JoeyThe client will get the response when the response writer is flushed, which occurs automatically when the writer is closed, when a certain amount of data is written to the writer (a buffer is filled), or when you do it manually by calling out.flush().
Note, there are some issues with Internet Explorer, I believe, where it has an internal buffer, so when you flush you writer it may not get written to screen until the request is complete (the output stream is closed). To get around this you need to write a big enough output to fill IE's buffer. Not particularly sure how big it is, but something like 10-12 lines or HTML usually does the job. It may be less...

• Need to send EDI Purchase Order only once

Hello,
We are using EDI to send electronic Purchase Orders to Vendors. Is there a way to tell the system that I only want to send the EDI document once?
We are having issues when Purchasers reprocess the order resulting in the Vendor recieving an EDI Purchase Order more than once. I want to tell our Purchasing dept that the EDI order will only go once, when they release the PO and that if they need to resend they will need to follow a manual process (FAX or email).
Thank you.

Hi Dan,
One possibility which immediately comes to mind is using the user exit: ZXM06U02.
This exit is trigerred while sending the EDI from PO. You can place a logic in here, to show an error if there is already a IDOC sent for that PO.
We are using this exit for doing some other custom check.
I hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Prakash

Please help???

Go into Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, look and see what has a checkmark by it. If it is just the phone number, then it will just go to the phone. You need to have the Apple ID checked for it to go to the iPad.

• Why java allow start() method only once for a thread

Hi ,
Why java allows start method only once for thread . suppose
Thread t = new Thread();
t.start();
say at later stage if again we call t.start() IllegalStateException is thrown , even though isAlive method returns false.
Hence the question , why start() method is allowed only once.If you need start a thread , we need to create a new instance.

Really. Why do you think that? Do you have any evidence? It is one of the first things I would think of, personally.Considering that the Thread API doesn't allow you to specify a stack address (only stack size), I think it demonstrates they wanted to remove that capability from their Thread API all together. That missing "capability" makes me believe they want me to believe it's not something I need to worry about when using their API... I think the exact semantics of the Thread class and its methods were driven by how to make it most understandable and usable for their customers. I'm certain this issue was one of many that was given considerable thought during the design and implementation of the JVM and the underlying runtime classes.
Do I have any evidence? No. But if you can point me at some first-hand information on this, I'd love to read it. Most of what I've found is second or third hand accounts. (and I mean that sincerely, not as a smart-ass remark or rebuke of your comments).
On the one hand you seem to think the Java API designers are idiots, on the other hand you think that they should be. I can't make it out.I thought my position was that the Java developers were talented enough to implement platform in whatever way their API called for; hence, the designers made a choice about how they wanted their API to be used by their customers. They decided which capabilities they wanted to include or exclude, and created an API that was consistent with their vision for this technology. While I'm certain technical limitations had an effect on the API design, I certainly don't think the API was dictated by the them.
I think the current design of the Java Thread API was a reflection of their vision to make Threading easier and more accessible to Joe Programmer, not limitations in the implementation. I never said it was wrong or that I could do better... I just said I think they could have done something different if they decided it would have made for a better customer experience. But hey, maybe I'm wrong.

• How to use postback property for JSF to reneder a popup only once

Hi All,
I'm using java script function to show a JSF page as popup. I have called the javascript function on page load of another JSF page.
How do i make sure that the popup is getting rendered only once and not everytime the page is getting refreshed .
Can i use postback property in JSF page for this purpose ?
Thanks in Advance.

Application app = ctx.getApplication();

• Need to display records only once for that particular group

Hi,
I have a requirement like displaying repeated records only once for that particular group.
For eg, in the emp table, I need to display repeated deptno only once for the particular group of job.
And for the above requirement I have used the below query,
SELECT empno, DECODE (LAG (job, 1) OVER (ORDER BY job), job, NULL, job),
DECODE (LAG (deptno, 1) OVER (ORDER BY deptno), deptno, NULL, deptno)
FROM emp;
Output:
EMPNO     JOB     DEPTNO
7782          10
7934     CLERK
7839     PRESIDENT
7876          20
7788
7902     ANALYST
7566     MANAGER
7844          30
7900
7654     SALESMAN
7698
But in the above output you can find that, say deptno 10 is getting displayed only once, whereas I want that deptno 10 to be checked whether it is getting repeated within the group of JOB and than hide the deptno 10 only if it is repeated within that job group. If not, deptno 10 should be displayed again.
Please help me in this.
Regards,
Shiva

Hi,
Hope the below helps.
SELECT emp_id, job, deptno,
CASE WHEN LAG(deptno, 1) OVER (partition by job order by deptno) = deptno THEN null else deptno end
FROM empRegards

• Authentication on local SQL Server 2008 R2 Express server fails after Lan Manager authentication level changed to "Send NTLMv2 response only\refuse LM & NTLM"

I'm upgrading my organisation's Active Directory environment and I've created a replica of our environment in a test lab.
One medium-priority application uses a SQL server express installation on the same server that the application itself sits on.
The application itself recently broke after I changed the following setting in group policy:
"Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated"
to
"Send NTLMv2 response only\refuse LM & NTLM"
The main intent was to determine which applications will break if any - I was very surprised when troubleshooting this particular application to find that the issue was actually with SQL Server express itself.

All of the documentation that I have followed suggests that the errors are caused by incorrect SPN configuration- I figured that they were never correct and it has always failed over to NTLM in the test environment (I can't look at production - we couldn't
replicate the setup due to special hardware and also RAM considerations), but only NTLMv2 has issues.
So I spent some time troubleshooting this. We have a 2003 forest/domain functional level, so our service accounts can't automatically register the SPN. I delegated the write/read service principle name ACEs in Active Directory. SQL Server
confirms that it is able to register the SPN.
So next I researched more into what is needed for Kerberos to work, and it seems that Kerberos is not used when authenticating with a resource on the same computer:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191153.aspx
In any scenario that the correct username is supplied, "Local connections use NTLM, remote connections use Kerberos". So the above errors are not Kerberos (since it is a local connection it will use NTLM). It makes sense I guess - since
it worked in the past when LM/NTLM were allowed, I don't see how changing the Lan Manager settings would affect Kerberos.
So I guess my question is:
What can I do to fix this? It looks like the SQL server is misconfigured for NTLMv2 (I really doubt it's a problem with the protocol itself...). I have reset the SQL service or the server a number of times. Also - all of my other SQL applications
in the environment work. This specific case where the application is authenticating to a local SQL installation is where I get the failure - works with LAN Manager authentication set to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated",
but not "Send NTLMv2 response only\refuse LM & NTLM".
Note also - this behaviour is identical whether I set the Lan Manager authentication level at the domain or domain controller level in Active Directory - I did initially figure I had set up some kind of mismatch where neither would agree on the authentication
protocol to use but this isn't the case.

Maybe your application doesn't support "Send NTLMv2 response only. Refuse LM & NTLM".

• HT201287 Can I set up a group message and have myself to be the only one to get responses

I often send group messages about where the group will be going to dinner, or what time an event will be held. I am the only one who needs to get responses to the group message, but everyone in the group gets all responses which is aggravating to most of the group members. Is there a way to send a group message, with me being the only one to receive responses?

Not through the built in Messages app. There may be other group messaging apps that would allow you to do that. However, everyone you message would need to have he same app installed.

• How to get page one to animate only once in interactive pdf?

how to get page one to animate only once in interactive pdf? I like when the document opens up in acrobat and the the page animations work but when I go to one of the pages and hit my designated home button it goes back to page one but it reloads again. As a user it would drive me crazy to have to wait for all of it to load......anyway to have that page one load once as the opening page?

I don't think you really mean animations (unless you have a placed SWF file) because things created with the Animation panel don't work in PDF. Nonetheless, you're talking about some kind of interactivity which is set to happen On Page Load.
So when you return to that page, of course the interactivity loads again.
There isn't a On Page Load Once command.
Perhaps you need to rethink why the interactivity is there. If it's important, maybe it should be triggered by a rollover or by clicking a button.

• How do I get a case to run only once

I am using an e-series DAQ board to bring a pwm signal, then I use labview to use that signal to pick one of three cases. depending on the case picked a finite pulse stream is sent out. Currently the finite pulse vi keeps repeating because the the program stays in the case. I need a way to get labview to run the finite pulse output only once, and not run again until a new case is picked. I don't have the case in a while loop.
Thanks For The Help

I am still haveing problems so I will try and attach my program and see if you can help a little more that. It will probably be easier for you to look at this way. When you look at the diagram sequence 0 is the one the problem is in. In that sequence you will see a case structure and that is where the finite pulse train vi is. When case 1 is selected the finite pulse train will run again and again until I leave case 1. I need to have the program run the finite pulse train once and then wait and do nothing until the case is changed. The finite pulse train will be in all cases inside the case structure I just haven't done that yet, I am waiting until it works. The pulse train is used to move a stepper motor that is why running only once is im
portant because the stepper motor is used to position something.
