HttpUploadBean works until you try to use setOverwrite

Hi,
I am using the httpUploadBean successfully to upload files on to an AIX apps server. I have two JSPs deployed on my APPS server - the first one to accept the user input and the second one that actually uses the httpUpload bean and performs the upload. Everything works perfectly.
I'd like to enhance it and use the setOverwrite feature of the bean - to prevent files from being overwritten. As soon as I add the call setOverwrite(false), it throws and exception with the message 'file already exists'. the behavior i see is
a) there is no file in the upload directory
b) I call the bean to upload the file
c) the bean creates a zero byte file and complains that the file already exists!
I have an SR with Oracle but haven't been able to get any help. Here is a code snippet that I use in the second JSP - I am only showing here the part that concerns this issue
Example that always allows overwrite - this works perfectly
</jsp:useBean>
<% upbean.setBaseDir(application, request);
upbean.setOverwrite(true);
try
upbean.upload(request);
catch (oracle.jsp.webutil.fileaccess.FileAccessException e)
String redirectURL = "index.jsp?msg="+e.getMessage();
response.sendRedirect(redirectURL);
Example that does not upload even if the file does not exist - the only change is the call to setoverwrite
</jsp:useBean>
<% upbean.setBaseDir(application, request);
upbean.setOverwrite(false); // SETTING THIS TO FALSE ALWAYS THROWS AN EXCEPTION
try
upbean.upload(request);
catch (oracle.jsp.webutil.fileaccess.FileAccessException e)
String redirectURL = "index.jsp?msg="+e.getMessage();
response.sendRedirect(redirectURL);
};

Have you tried Restoring from backup or Restore to new? If that doesn't work contact Apple Genius Bar. Good luck, Cheers.

  • Gnome works--until you try other DE's?

    I've now rendered two different machines incapable of running gnome by installing gnome, using it awhile...then trying out other DE's  (usually xfce4 and/or kde).  Often I'll remove one of the other DE's so not tf clutter things up with files I don't need/want.
    At some point gnome gets hopelessly screwed up--and will only show me that stupid "Oh no!" screen.  Hours of Googling has never produced a solution.
    Has anyone else ever run into this?   What is it about gnome that makes it so fussy?   In my experience the only way to get gnome to work is to install it first--then don't touch it--ever.

  • Why won't my adobe flash drive work when I try to use it?

    Why wont my adobe flash drive work when I try to use it?  I am going to school online and I just bought this mac book pro.  My old mac book worked just fine with the adobe flash drive and shackwave.

    You must mean Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Shockwave Player. Get the latest versions here:

  • My camera is stop working when I try to use it!

    My camera is stop working when I try to use it!it close down when I open it..and it's been 2 days now that my telephone is very slow in everything..

    Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • I'm trying an email address i know is mine yet still getting this message:"That Apple ID is already in use.If this Apple ID was created by you, simply sign in with your Apple ID and password.If it does not belong to you, try again using a different name."

    I keep getting this message:  "That Apple ID is already in use.If this Apple ID was created by you, simply sign in with your Apple ID and password.If it does not belong to you, try again using a different name."
    I'm trying to create a new id and e-mail using an e-mail address that is mine and has been mine for over a year - any ideas why this could be happening?

    Trying where? What sort of email address? The following answer is based on a guess as to what you are talking about.
    If you already have an @me.com address, perhaps as a result of having had a MobileMe account, and you are now setting up an iCloud account with an Apple ID you will find you will be asked to create a new @me.com address, and that you can't add your existing one because it is already an Apple ID.
    You can do one of two things:
    1. Sign out at System Preferences; sign in with your existing @me.com address and enable Mail.
    2. Stay signed in with the present ID and add your @me.com address in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars.
    If you have further questions, or if your situation is different from what I've assumed, do please post back, but in a suitable forum - this one is specifically about using these Forums.

    Sometimes my iPad1 locks up and has the flat battery graphic after charging all night, but will not work until you disconnect the charger, then it reboots and the battery is fully charged and works normally.
    It has only happened for the last month or so
    Also, sometimes it drops out of apps, ie facebook etc. just like you have hit the stop button

    Who replaced the battery? If it wasn't Apple the replacement is probably bad also. Either that, or the logic board is bad.

  • Links no longer work when I try to use Etsy in Firefox, but work fine in Explorer and Safari.

    Until fairly recently, I had no trouble using Etsy in Firefox, but after the last update, I noticed that the site stopped working. I cannot click on any links, even the one that would allow me to log in. I originally thought the issue might be that I have OS X 10.5.8 on my computer, so the newest upgrade is not compatible, but I use a computer with Windows 7 at work and am having the same problem. Etsy works fine in both Explorer (at work) and in Safari (at home).

    When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
    (WIN) Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.<br>
    (MAC) Use Command+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
    (You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
    (WIN) orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced<br>
    (MAC) Firefox > Preferences > Advanced
    On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
    (WIN) right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"<br>
    (ANY) Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
    If that doesn't make any difference, perhaps an add-on is at fault? A standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
    First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
    Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
    Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
    If the site works correctly, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.
    Any change?

  • Canon Mp600 will not work when I try to use photoshop print settings since I upgraded to latest Maverick?

    I upgraded to latest Maverick . Now when I use PhotoshopC5 my print settings crash every time I even touch the button. My printer is a Canon MP600 and worked with all Photoshop settings until this week. Help!

    The last driver that Canon released for the MP600, v10.5.1.2.0, was for Mac OS X 10.7. Since you mention upgrading to Mavericks you could have a driver version earlier than this. You can check by opening Printers & Scanners, selecting the MP600 and then clicking on Options & Supplies. With the General tab selected you will see the driver version.
    Now even if you do have the latest version there is no guarantee that it will be compatible with all applications on 10.9, especially the CS5 suite. You could try installing Gutenprint v5.2.9 to get a driver more compatible with the latest OS. Or if colour management is a requirement for Photoshop printing then you may need to purchase Printfab, although since you are using an MP600 then I would assume that you are not overly concerned with colour accuracy. Another option is to export the image from Photoshop as a PDF and then open this in Preview and print from that application.

  • Firefox will not open and my profile name changes, after I creat a new profile it works until I try to open again

    Firefox version 16.0.2 was working I have used FF for years. A few days ago it started to run very slow opening web sites. Then this morning when I tried to open it I saw a progress bar that looked like the kind I see after an update has been applied but FF never opened.
    I rebooted my windows 7 64 bit and tried again, nothing FF would not open and I got no error message.
    So I opened the profile manager and only found a default profile not the one I created last year with my name. I created a new profile and browsed to my old profile folder. FF opened and ran fine until I closed it and later tried to open it again then I kept getting an error box telling me that FF had crashed and asked if I wanted to send a report and restart, I did but no good it still would not open.
    I ran the profile manager again and found my profile had changed name to a bunch of numbers. I delete that profile but kept the folder then made a new one and that worked. I shut it down again and once again I get the We're sorry error box.
    By the way I had set the profile manager to open when FF loads and it is not opening so the problem is before it gets to that command.

    First I already have my view set to show everything so that is not the problem.
    But I just tried opening "Computer" from the start button then type in profiles.ini in the address bar and hit enter. The profile manager opened with my profile listed. I selected it and hit start firefox and it opened as it should.
    I closed it again and tried to open it from the shortcut in my task bar and I got the Sorry window.
    But then I tried to open it from the short cut you get when you press the start button and program list and it work!
    I went back to my desk top and tried the short cut on the desk top and it worked.
    So I deleted the short cut on the task bar and created a new one and it worked.
    I rebooted the computer and tried again and the task bar shortcut works and has the right profile.
    So it seems that the problem is that the short cut was corrupted and was causing the error that caused the program to fail to open.
    I had no idea a shortcut could do that. In the past I have had short cut stop working but never do what this one did.
    I still have no idea where the profiles.ini is.

  • Mirroring works until I try to watch a film.

    So I have the iPad air and an Apple TV box. Mirroring works totally fine, but when I try to watch a film from my downloaded videos (from iTunes) the tv screen goes blank and nothing happens. The film doesn't play on the iPad either. The film works fine when mirroring isn't being used.

    It is probably Adobe Flash. Unfortunately, Firefox for Android doesn't support Flash, yet. Soon there will be an update that allows you to install the flash plugin and use it.

  • Search does not work until you open folder

    I tried to search for a keyword on drive F (all pictures). I had the correct drive in the "look in" box, and had the boxes checked for "search indexed and non-indexed files". I got the dreaded "No Items to display" on the screen.
    I then opened the folder where I knew the file was, closed it and went back to the original site and ran the scan without changing any settings. This time the files came up for just the folder I had opened. I knew there were other folders that contained the same keyword, but I had to open each folder I wanted the scan to work on. What a needless time consuming pain!
    Can anyone tell me why it does not search the folders until I open them? I thought that "search non-indexed files" would take care of that problem and search all files in the directory specified.
    One suspicion is that when it searches it does not show the progress box of files being indexed or searched. It is blank until the results, which takes less than 14 seconds. It may not be searching all non-indexed files. Any ideas?

    Yes, I think you may have found your issue there – try deactivating, uninstall RH and reinstall.
